I think ICO is gud because it allows the devs to get on with what they're gud at to develop the coin.

This is what happens when you spend 90% of your energy on marketing rather than development...
Let us hope that the Ethereum classic development team will go to another direction and focus all their energy in security first and foremost. Efficiency and usability will slowly follow after when start ups begin to make use of the platform for their minimum viable protect ideas and proof of concepts. It also might be a good idea for ETC start ups to have a good relations ship with the ETC development team so that they could work side by side in fixing and improving the platform. Why would even think that a bunch of bandits and criminals would focus on security?

BTC ETH MAID
Anything else is a Criminal Coin shitcoin.
Don't be so extreme dude, there are many other reliable projects. If you like ETH so much, you should know some projects based on ETH. DGD, ICONOMI, FIRSTBLOOD, SNGLS, REP are all good projects. Storage related projects like sia and storj are all similar to maid. My holding: btc, eth, maid, dash, doge, stratis, sngls, rep and so forth I have some DOGE and REP but it's worth so little I don't consider them. When is Augur meant to release anyway?

I only own bitcoins now, the rest involves too much attention, which i no longer have. So proud owner of 50 bitcoins
I think it's dangerous to keep all your eggs in one crypto basket.

Its definitely an interesting Proof Of Concept. http://shitco.in/2016/10/09/rare-pepe-fomo-and-the-alt-pump-dump-cycle/I've been a bit interested in Counterparty and this article makes some good points, but its hard to know what to believe when someone tells you "this one coin (XMR) is shit, let me tell you why this other coin (XCP) is way more amazing!" That makes me almost certain that someone is pushing an agenda. XMR vs XCP is quite apples and oranges.. Not to speculate on either coin or the value of PEPEs themselves but I have bought a few pepes, traded a ton of pepes, even made a couple official pepes myself, and have been having a blockchain blast doing it.. It is not completely devoid of bugs and not fast (it's on the Bitcoin Blockchain) but it seems I've made 245 PEPE related TXs.. It WORKS.. For example here are a couple of my favorites.. And here is my portfolio if anyone wants to trade!! https://blockscan.com/address?q=1vvSrTFiQY7akwbsv3iYPPe9mR3DsEbffFantastic fella. Can you make one for the ETC Criminal Coin for me?

Bumping this, I'm looking to withdraw some DAO as well. Any idea as to where to start?
Gentlemen I believe that there's a strict deadline with which to withdraw and I don't know if it's past. The easiest way of withdrawing from the ETH real chain and the ETC criminal chain is through My Ethereum Wallet. I'll try to dig out my links.

How many times has Bitcoin been hardforked? I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.
Bitcoin was never hard forked... I could have sworn there was at minimum one due to a bug, I will have to look into it to be sure but I think it has. Yes two: here is a theymos quote on it " I think that the only two hardforks were: - The change in the version message which took effect on February 20, 2012 after two years of advance notice. - BIP 50
The other changes are all softforks.
You've missed one reply: I think that the only two hardforks were: - The change in the version message which took effect on February 20, 2012 after two years of advance notice.
This is a hardfork of the P2P protocol, but not the blockchain. If you setup a protocol adapter (e.g. a node hacked to change its version handshake to bring the old behavior back) a prior release should still sync the chain... though it's been a while since I've done this. - BIP 50
Sort of a mixed bag there, you can actually take a pre BIP-50 node and fully sync the blockchain, I last did this with 0.3.24 a few months ago. It just will not reliably handle reorgs involving large blocks unless you change the BDB config too. So it's debatable if this is a hard fork either, since it's quasi-non-deterministic. There were prior bugs fixed where older versions would get stuck and stop syncing the chain before that too... So I think by a really strong definition of creating a blockchain which violates the rules mandated by prior versions we have never had a hardfork. I'm not a coder, but I've been told by a Bitcoin core developer that BTC has never been hard forked. And I trust the guy. Lolz. Of course you're not a coder. Hence the hysterical over dramatic shitposts about every slightest down in ETH. Note to all readers: spartak_nt will never post anything positive. He is a defeatist. Just look at the haircut his barber happily gave him.

"token" scheme with or with a blockchain
With or with a blockchain. That's quite a scheme.

The price has gone down a tad so it really is a buyers market right now at these prices so I'll be topping up my account with an extra 100 ETH. I suggest you do the same.

For the uneducated; This fork will actually be GOOD. It is to prevent future attacks against the network/project and nothing else.... Consider it a security update Yes but that doesn't stop the snowflake dramaqueens desperately trying to spread their hatefilled FUD. As I said MODS please lock down this thread. It's pure BS shitpost from an well know troll with vindictive barber.
|
|
|
OMG all these shitpost theatrics. ETH has always been forked as the devs take the tech to new exciting levels. The next scheduled one is Metropolis I believe so any patching can be done then if needed. MODS please lock down this thread now. It was created simply to troll and has been debunked. Thank you.

Another hard forked? Ethereum had been knocked down to the last hard forked, if this happens again i am sure the user will leave ethereum, how can the developer not fixing their mistakes after the last hard fork,it is such a shame, etehreum is a quite good alt coin to invest, but if they keep getting in trouble, all of the user will leave ethereum and try different alt coin
It's lies. It is not being hardforked. Besides even if it was hard forked it would be to resolve attack vector issues that the unforked chain would still be exposed to. Don't believe the lies this spartak_nt posts.

How many times has Bitcoin been hardforked? I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.
Bitcoin was never hard forked... Lies. Pure and simple 100% troll shitpost lies. Bitcoin HAS been forked. And you know it. If you don't then you are even more Spoetniktard than your new photo.

This thread is pure 100% troll shitpost scaremongering. If anything the attack vectors being exploited are simply being highlighted and patched. This in turn makes Ethereum MORE secure and stable.

Very uncool for someone technically challenged to blame Ethereum for not syncing a wallet.

|

Use myetherwallet. You don't need to wait for Ethereum to sync.

I invested in ETH and earned
I'd actually go as far as to say that the vast majority, say 99.99% of people who have invest in ETH have made money. It's hard not to with the gud tech that ETH is.

ETH and ETC have no difference except the manipulations of the big whales in ETH which are not present in ETC. and that is why ETC price is falling.
so in fact we can clearly see what would happen to ETH if someday the manipulators stop manipulating the price or they feel like they have exhausted the pump-ability of this coin and they feel ready to move on to the next pumping project.
The Pursuer was a tough nut to crack in DSII. ETH does not suffer from market manipulations by big whales, if it was it would be going up and down in large swings. As it is it has great backing and support by many many large insitiutions who are investing in the tech, so it's a mistake to assume this support is by whales. Simply not true. ETC Criminal Coin is going down simply because of what it stands for; criminals. And only fools would invest in a criminal venture.
