3781  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm New To This PGP Program That I Keep Seeing. on: September 07, 2015, 02:12:20 AM
I have been trying to learn how to digitally sign for example a post or an email or something for a while but I still haven't gotten my mind around it. It should be way easier than it is now, its kind of alienating and you have to take a lot of steps to get it done, can't they just make it a click and go thing for the non geeks?

Well there's keybase if you can get an invite as its in testing phase i believe. But the way GPG work, you still need to do some setup. If you could encrypt decrypt without setting up a key and how to encrypt/decrypt with x Person then there would be no point in encrypting in the first place.

You need a way for only your target or certain persons(yourself) to know how to decrypt.
3782  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PreOrder the new 100Ph/s miner "MooN" for only 2999,- USD and get one free! on: September 07, 2015, 01:08:45 AM
Crazy, i want to build a 100PH miner out of outdated DDR ram and a cellphone + ductape/cardboard combo too!

Does it involve nuclear fusion?

Lol, you and your Nuclear Fusion.
3783  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: September 07, 2015, 12:40:15 AM
Hmm eventually the pool went dead but i was mining still with no problem, while the frontend was down. But now my miners all failed over. Weird.
If miners connected before the DNS outage, then provided there is no interruption to their connection they will remain connected to the IP address they used. If they try to reconnect for whatever reason, a domain name lookup will fail and then they will fail to reconnect. Most miners have not failed over during this DNS outage for that reason.

Hah, yes you are right. Only the 2 miners that was rebooted have not managed to reconnect. Well i guess i could connect with the IP. But it seemed more that my ip range (montréal) was somehow blocked somehow?

Regardless i sent my IP to Kano as requested.

What is PGP? and is there anyway for us to earn BTC without Purchasing it?

Refer to the very first reply in this thread. For your convenience;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1172125.msg12342377#msg12342377

If you ask what PGP is in relation to BTC, you don't need PGP.

3787  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain just implemented nuclear fusion in their s9 miner? on: September 06, 2015, 10:09:41 PM
It's not impossible, but I don't think it is necessary to do that on a home personal miner. I think it is probably a good idea to do that for a huge mining farm in the long term if you have enough investment tho.

I'm pretty sure there's more cost effective way to obtain electricity than put billions of dollars into a beta fusion reactor. Especially for China which has electricity cheaper than dirt.
3788  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: September 06, 2015, 10:06:10 PM
The frontend has been down for a while, i believe? CKPool Monitor hasn't updated any data for about an hour so i'm guessing the API is down along with the frontend.

That sound pretty tasty.

Do you have a picture of of Frankenstein (2xS5 + 2xS5+ Blades)? I'm curious as to how you place the boards to other heatsinks so that they get cooled.

No pictures.
My  setup work in the S5+ housing with  2x S5+   fans.  Total 3x S5+  blades. One runs with separate S5 controller.

2 other S5+ blades are connected with self-made long S5 data cables to normal S5 miner controller.

S5 cable is only 8cm
and S5+ data cable is 16cm long.
My self-made long data cables is 22 cm long.

I see, i only have S1 housings. But maybe you could sell those blades as an upgrade kit Smiley

If you werent in the europe this could have been interesting for me.
3790  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: September 06, 2015, 05:45:53 PM
Hmm in Québec residential if you use over 30kw per day you pay more. If you're industrial+, if you use a lot you pay less. (0.02/kWh or something).
3791  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 - Not For Sale? on: September 06, 2015, 05:41:36 PM
S1-your own power supply.
S2-same chips as S1, big case, power supply.
S3-your own power supply.
S3+-same chips as S3, but overclocked.
S4-same chips as S3, big case, power supply.
S4+-same chips as S3, more chips than S4.
S5-your own power supply.
S5+-your own power supply, over three times more chips than S5.
S6-no big case with power supply using the same chips as S5.
S7-the newest chips.

Feel to me like they finished up the chips they had with the S5+ which fill the niche of what the S6 would be if they kept the tick tock rate.

Hence why i find it very possible the S6 or maybe S8 if they skip the S6 altogether, whatever next even # form factor they come up with, will be with BM1385.
3792  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: The ROI 1500% in one hour. The Best HYIP 2015 on: September 06, 2015, 03:55:52 PM
This is so ridiculous that anybody could see that this is an obvious scam. 1500%? Haha, what a joke.
The joke is not the 1500% the joke is the min. Deposite :300$  Roll Eyes

Well if he is going to get burned on the first deposit for being a scam, he might as well make sure that if he does, he'll be 300$ in the green instead of a few cents, right?
3793  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread sept 4th. to sept 17th Picks are open. on: September 06, 2015, 03:54:07 PM
Well, look like opening guessed are betting pretty high. I guess betting for negative isin't going to take us anywhere for a while. I was hoping this wouldn't happen before S7 actually got out.

It is likely S7's are being made now.  I would guess they first go into bitmain's data centers in places were they sold S5 used units.   Then eventually the S7's make it to public hands.

But I think internal will be first priority for them.

That indeed does make sense. It allow them to fulfill their binds to the client on hashnest while reducing their expenses or allow more hardware to be fit in place. Especially for the pacmics.
3794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: September 06, 2015, 03:47:16 PM
Well be careful with that, BTC transactions are fully traceable.

There are good mixing services like Bitmixer and Grams Helix.

Indeed, that is very helpful. But does not replace the use of a good brain to prevent undermining your attempts at breaking tractability Smiley

Beside blocking all internet traffic, it would be pretty hard to block bitcoin.

I rarely spend my btc on usual stuff. I want to make use of its anonimity to do shady jobs  Cool

Well be careful with that, BTC transactions are fully traceable.

That is because you do not meets the minimum requirement. You're a few ranks bellow the requirement to use that signature.

Thanks for the heads up. If they want more airplay they should consider giving us newbies a code. We matter too!

There's some campaign that allow new accounts, check it out. Smiley

What the ... ?
Do you mind telling me why when I added the new signature it says "Signature deleted" on the BOT ? my posts are gone ?

Yeah mine too says deleted, i'm sure marco will fix it. Manually if need be.
3798  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 - Not For Sale? on: September 06, 2015, 03:24:20 PM
Its just that the S4+ fill that niche for now.

They will probably milk the expensive S7 at crazy markup until competition come out. And then slam them back to the ground (again) with a S6 form factor of undervolted BM1385.

All this won't fit in my signature...can you see it? BTW, my user ID doesn't let me in on the website
