3781  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: DarkWallet + Trezor = couple of the year? on: April 05, 2014, 02:38:55 PM
I would be thrilled if darkwallet allowed the optional trezor integration as an option.

Why wouldn't they "allow" it? It's a good thing and it's of course optional for the user. Also: fork.

It's just about doing it.

Huobi bears woke up to dump

There was a shortage of red candles at the shop. New supplies arrived in the morning and revived the bears' hopes... But some of them will have to be left in the dark.

I am about ready to go to sleep.. how low should I set my buys on BTC e?  maybe $423?  We cannot really expect to go much lower than that, no?

put it at $266.666
3783  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: DarkWallet + Trezor = couple of the year? on: April 05, 2014, 09:42:21 AM
I give them my blessings Smiley

btw. molecular, what's your first impression of DarkWallet?

the pre-alpha is called that for a reason,... haven't tested intensively, but it looks really cool.

They've got most of the big stuff done, as far as I can tell.

DarkWallet + Trezor = couple of the year?

DarkWallet + Trezor = couple of the year?
3787  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / DarkWallet + Trezor = couple of the year? on: April 05, 2014, 08:04:16 AM
I just had an idea (probably not the first to have it, though):

Why not marry DarkWallet and Trezor?

DarkWallet:
  • + stealth address support
  • + coinjoin support
  • + multisig
  • + BIP-32
  • + (hopefully) diverse backend infrastructure
  • - stores keys on host machine

Trezor:
  • + secure key storage
  • + tx signing
  • + BIP-32
  • - (seems to me) centralized backend
  • ? not sure about coin control features

So how about taking "the best of both worlds" and do away with DarkWallets insecure (?) key storage and the privacy issues (?) of the myTrezor wallet? It seems to me one project has what the other lacks.

Both projects are opensource and I'm sure darkwallet devs would welcome a trezor pull request if done well enough. Trezor team is looking for wide-spread wallet integration so I can't imagine they would be opposed in any way.

Should we go for it?
What are the technical hurdles to overcome?
What are potential problems?
Who's going to do it?

3789  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: April 04, 2014, 06:51:04 AM
This thread used to be cool, informative and diverse (while mostly on topic).

Now I have to wade through books worth of AnonyMint posts I can't fathom to even skim, let alone read or even react to. Not to discredit what he says (I wouldn't know), but it's like listening to this type of girl that doesn't pause for long enough for you to jump in or her to even take a breath. You're in constant fear she might suffocate.

Take a deep breath, man... maybe go on vacation with no net connectivity or something.

Both heading DOWNTOWN. 400's baby, bring it. 300's next.

Don't get too excited. $400 is in the cards, yes. But 300...? I don't think.

hey molecular,

was that your Trezor on the PIN entry video?  was that you talking?  Wink

yes. Guilty of owning a trezor and being able to count to 4. Wink

I feel bad for all the people who got victimized and i think some effort should be made to put the creators of this bubble behind bars, too many have been victimized to let this slide.

Lol, dude. How about putting the banking cartel behind bars who hurt pretty much everyone with their stupid inflation.
3793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 21million total coin supply hinders it immensely on: April 03, 2014, 01:51:03 PM
the obvious solution is bytecoin.  worth 8 times as much  Shocked

WordCoin!

3794  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 03, 2014, 01:08:33 PM

There's still some work being done on the backend (you can even see that "out of sync error" at the end of the video).

I doubt they will ship before the wallet and backend are in good shape and I think that's a good thing. Hoping it will be soon, of course.

3795  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 03, 2014, 12:59:12 PM

Here's a video I recorded at the Hamburg meeting last night (we had a nice little trezor demo there).

It shows the "secret PIN entry" process.

cool Wink

Those unpacking videos are classic.

Every well-anticipated product has at least one of these.

There is some major P&D going on. Someone was pumping today with 35 BTC and guess what... As soon as he placed a buy order at 0.0082 someone dumped 35 BTC worth of aurora on him. Guy must have ripped his hair out.
Same thing happed a bit later but with 25 BTC

I think it's the same person. I think he's selling to himself maybe? To flush out everyone. Make a scare.

Either that or two whales are fighting each other.

Major mind games AND/OR major whale chaos.

sell wall at 0.0068 (cryptsy) is slowly getting eaten. Was 35 BTC before, now 17. There seems to be quite some buying power.

Keen buyer with 121 BTC chewed up the sell orders between 0.0068-78

OT. I am wondering why the airdrop numbers have gone from the auroracoin.org page.

I wonder, too.
