3781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling tax proposal in Ukraine on: June 10, 2021, 06:42:34 AM
I honestly see no problem with increasing the tax on gambling. If that is what it takes to discourage gamblers and probably avoid a worsening statistics of gambling addiction and gambling-related crimes, then it is good. If that is also what it takes for Ukraine to somehow raise funds in order to support the more basic needs of the populace especially in the times of pandemic, then it is also good. After all, gambling is just a luxury or just one of the ways people waste money.

I don't see any problems here as well, but it's probably because we gamble with crypto and we are not whales! So we are partly anonymous and we don't gamble with big money, so we are under radars and we don't pay any taxes on our winning, at least I don't!

Basically, it's what governments do... they see where is the money, impose their rules, regulate it and tax it! After all, that is happening with crypto in some countries already, while in some countries (like mine) there's still nothing about that!
And like always, some countries will have soft rules and an open approach, some will have hard rules and regulations to making something totally illegal for use!
3782  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto vs Fiat on: June 09, 2021, 10:10:08 PM
I don't think BTC is going to replace money anytime soon, but I do think that BTC will be more widely accepted in the future. But with all of these companies that require so much info on purchase and an ID for alot of wallets, the anonymity of BTC is slowly being removed from most transactions and wallets.

I think that Bitcoin can't replace money! What will happen is that the entire cryptosystem will replace the traditional fiat system! Digitalization, it's the future! And crypto can deliver what is impossible for a traditional system, billions of users connected  24/7!

And I don't think it's will be an easy ride! Traditional shareholders will not give up their positions so easily, and people as people have a lot more to learn about centralized and decentralized systems, about how crypto actually works! All this is just the beginning, and I believe that this crazy ride is far from over!
3783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet365 just achieved a big milestone. on: June 09, 2021, 09:34:45 AM
This is how gambling owners make money and turn rich. Is the owner have reached on the top list of the rich people of UK. Bet365 has years of history, and the reputation never declined. Soon we can expect cryptocurrency accepted gambling site owners getting listed on the top.

If the pandemic continues for another year I am sure you will read more name and some of them might be from the crypto industry. I am there are a few who have already reached that list but might have not been listed as the list is based on UK based entrepreneur. This is how the pandemic is changing the way business has to be run in the future.

Well, I am more interested in crypto gambling, and I would like to see some similar thing happening in crypto gambling! Like to see some statistics from the crypto gambling industry, numbers about progress made in the last years, with a focus on the last year and pandemic! I guess there's a lot of anonymity in crypto, so it will be hard to collect all relevant information about crypto gambling casinos, their owners... their profit and losses, along with owner's paychecks!

If there is zero chance with martingale and zero chance with the other one, why would people prefer one over the other? Some people create topics just to promote their own "unique" strategy but there is zero chance they could make a profit neither.
You are right, in fact, the Martingale strategy is the one that mostly causes many players to lose their bankroll quickly without even having a chance, and after that happens they react and wonder why another strategy was not applied.
...

With Martingale, you have a chance to win something! In my opinion, every strategy must be some form of Martingale, where you raise bets or odds if you wish to have some chances to be green and have a profitable session! Especially for dices, limbo, and other lucky-based games!
I don't understand how to play these games without raising bets/odds after losing one or more bets!? As I said many times, your bankroll and the base bet are important... you can't play any strategy with $10 and base bet $1! Or you can, but you will get busted in 1 minute, 99%! I left that 1% intentionally because you can have luck and hit a big payout with your first bets, but that happens rarely!

I think they will be very lucky if they can get a big enough win like but for me personally, I wouldn't make such a big bet in a gamble Grin, but even so we don't know how much money they have spent gambling so whether the profit can be cover up the losses they've been getting?
maybe they have spent $10K but only won $1K or maybe it's the other way around..!
because we all know that in gambling the odds of winning the dealer are greater than the players Wink.

You have a good point... showed bets can just be the last bets in the row, and maybe those bets can't cover the losses that took place before that last bet!

To win this big you need to have a very high bankroll! It's not working anyway around! We can say there are exceptions, with slots and lottery, where people can literally win x1 Million and a lot more with their bet!

I won x100 many times, but I never made a bet with some crazy high amount! For that, you need bankroll as I said, and one more thing, big balls! It's not something that anyone can do! You need to be a degen!

Bullish future could be destroyed with a horrible start, things are that easy to get ruined in the crypto world. I believe this project has a huge future but the reality is that if we do not end up with something good in the quick first few weeks then we may never get it, we need to show people that it is a great one right at the launch so that they could continue to respect it.

If the price starts to dump a whole lot from the first moment and then people end up with nearly nothing afterwards, then I would have to say that there is a reasonable understanding that others would start to sell as well and it will be a huge crash and recovering from a huge crash is not an easy task, it will be very difficult. Long story short I would have to say that there is a good amount of chance we could end up with a bad launch and that could hurt us, we need to take care of that.

This happens with coins or tokens without intrinsic value and those are purely based on speculation. BFG however pays dividends and it has value already. And after sports betting, it will have more value.

Most of the tokens or coins get their value for their utility on the chain, and often their economic game theory isn't even well designed. Only speculation on BFG is based on the sustainability of dividends and the trust that token ecosystem will be evolved after the mining is over. Unless they want to rely purely on gaming. Even if they would do that, tokens would have value as long people play.

But as i said, it has value already. You can literally get your money back when you buy low enough.

I guess you both have a point... but generally speaking this topic is turning into a speculation thread!

However, Cryptoperkele said something interesting, it's a fact that by holding BFG tokens you have some passive income, so BFG tokens have value! So will anyone trade the passive income purely depends on the person and goals of that person!
As I said before, you can try to trade your stocks (passive income) and short it (sell high, buy low = have more tokens, higher payouts), and that can work or not... but that's trading, and mostly speculating!

Don't lose focus, Betfury is a gambling site! BFG token and dividends are just an add-on for us gamblers who like to gamble there! By speculating BFG token price, possible outcomes, you are turning this to something else!
3787  Economy / Economics / Re: If Something is cheap you Buy it Buy the dips on: June 08, 2021, 04:16:55 PM
I doubt that it will be as profitable as bitcoin. It is still fiat, my national currency is cheaper every year too but I don't consider it as investment. The USA dollar is much stronger than my national currency but it still fiat. Maybe I can still get small profit from it but I prefer like to choose bitcoin. I think buy property is still better, property price almost never fall, even it tend to rise. Once we buy it then our wealth is growing little by little, day by day. And it can be faster if we rent it.

I guess everything depends on the bankroll you have for making investments. We can talk what is cheap and what's good for buying, but what that worth if you don't have what to invest?

Another thing is perspective, "cheap" is different for many people, while some people can think $32k is little, for others that is a fortune. And that's the current price of Bitcoin. But whatever you may think about the current price from your own perspective, comparing the current price and possible price in the future, you may find that Bitcoin is cheap now.

^ I confirmed there is, just because I was there before when I was participating in the Wolfbet signature campaign, they had a 7-day streak reward, come back each day and you will receive 0.00000090 BTC.

I just checked it, and it seems the award is 0.01 USDT, not 0.00000090 BTC. I didn't claim it and will try it again later. Maybe USDT is the defaut currency in my account for some reason. Are there any other requirements except just visiting the site once a day to receive those rewards? Can you play with the 0.00000090 BTC instantly, or do you have to wait for 7 days to be credited with the coins?

7-day streak! The first day is $0.01, the second is $0.013... I am not sure about other days so I will not write anything about it! It's a streak, so when you miss a day you start from the first day again! I usually forget to do it, it's too low... it's why I can't remember the prize for other days!
It's the default for all now! We could choose in which crypto to claim a 7-day streak but after the bullish period, they changed it to USDT for all! Even rains are in USDT, 0.01 for 20 users active on chat every 20 minutes! For example, the first day for Doges was 3 Doge coins, the last day was around 15 Doges if I remember correctly! Now you can imagine why they chose to move everything to a stable coin!
When you claim it or get coins from the rain, they are credited at that moment and you can start gambling with them!

I think that the old video poker has nothing to offer and is a rare species of gambling that still exists, at least online.

It's the first machine I ever played, more than 20 years ago! I am playing it from time to time, currently at BC.Games... but just for a few minutes! It's not so interesting comparing with other games, or to say it offers less than others!

Of all those table poker versions, the most interesting (and the one I played mostly) is Caribbean Poker! I had periods where I could sit and play for hours! But that was before!

As I said, a few minutes or a few hands... from time to time! When I am bored and looking at which game to play, and I see some old game I didn't play for a while! Just for fun, without any big bets...

Have we considered maybe the fact is that this promotions is not for people like us?

I mean after all we are doing something that would benefit the casino right? It is a promotion and who else makes money to casinos like whales? People who can gamble 0.50 per bet without a worry, even bet more than that each bet, 0.50 is nothing to many whales.

I have seen people gamble with a thousand dollars per bet, no joke dude was gambling a thousand dollars per bet, that is like a million dollars in a few hours. That is why I think it is quite understandable that this was done for people who are not even that rich, just rich enough to gamble on half a dollar, which is a ton of people in the gambling world.

I just came to accept the fact that I am not one of those people and there are less promotions available to me compared to people who are rich enough.
I do not want to use the word "discrimination" because that is usually used in political talks about minorities, however class discrimination is a thing as well and it is not as severe obviously, at the end of the day we are talking about just a casino and nothing serious. However if the case is "this is not for poor people, we want rich people to gamble here" then it is not going to be something that would be acceptable in anywhere in the world, think about it, they just want rich people to gamble here? How could people be fine with that? However there is a good get out of jail card for them which is just 0.50 and that is not really THAT much, it is surely not free but it is also not expensive neither, it is totally understandable level and I am totally fine with that. Long story short we do not have something for "wealthy" it is not free but it is still acceptable level.

You need money to make money!

When it comes to wagering, people with higher bankroll have an advantage! But Chips offers multiplier competitions, the recent one was x100, there's a minimum bet of $0.5, and you don't have to be a whale to get that prize, just the lucky one!

I am not sure what you think about the "real world", in the reality the biggest spenders have the best privileges! If you run the store, you would give more to the ones who spend more... simple logic!

And don't tell us jokes about how just rich people can compete for higher prizes because of the conditions... I believe conditions exist because of too many scammers who are trying to take advantage of every giveaway, promotion, etc...
3791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Economic Costs of Gambling on: June 07, 2021, 04:45:33 PM
OP shared only negative aspects of gambling, not so much about gambling itself as it's about people who lose control and start losing big money, and money they don't have... of course, that will create some problems!!!

Economic cost mainly depends on the country where you live! It's not the same to open a casino in Las Vegas or Nigeria... except for different laws and taxes, it's definitely not the same to rent a building in the center of London and some god-forsaken place! Don't forget the paychecks, while here in my place people will work for $400 a month, you can't find that cheap labor in Berlin! I hope you get my point!

In the end, people who like to gamble will do it, as I do it... why shouldn't we have a place to do it?! Some negative shit happened and let's ban everything and anything!?!? Haters and hypocrites everywhere around... why don't you start looking at your own business and let us be?!
3792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 07, 2021, 01:46:20 PM
If your pray before every bet I guess you will learn that prayers will work sometimes, and sometimes not... more or less from the prayer, a lot more from the game you chose to play, and odds you are chasing! So if you are praying before every bet at x10 or higher, I think only 1 prayer in hundreds of bets will work! Maybe it would be better to chase lower odds, at least praying will work a lot more...

Superstition is everywhere! I don't think praying or anything similar can help in gambling, but people have the right to hope and to believe in what they want!
3793  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Covid-19 carrying the growth in digital currencies? on: June 07, 2021, 10:22:53 AM
The fact is that there were tons of people who had chance to meet with crypto for the first time. They heard about it, and they knew about it but they didn't put any money in it, this pandemic period allowed a lot more people to go into crypto, google trends broke records, there are now more people involved in crypto than any other time in history, so I do understand why people are making a big deal out of this, however the reality is that we are talking about a positive that impacted the price as well, that is the most important part.

During the march of 2020 when the price went low, it went under 4 thousand dollars, when we reached our peak it was 64 thousand dollars, so between march 2020 low to our peak that is over 16 times the increase, that is not something we could have done without the pandemic, and I believe we will probably never have that type of increase ever again. Sure we will have increases but not as much as x16 increase, not anymore.

One more fact, many people had a lot of free time for the first time in many years, with one little catch, you must spend your free time inside your home! As expected, many people started to spend more time on the internet, to discover new things and ways for earning some money, making investments, or just for fun!

Your math is simple and easy to understand El kaka! We will never see Bitcoin rising hundred and thousand of percent again as it happened in 2012! So I guess it will be hard to see x16 again.... but, if we see only x10 from this price, the next ride can take Bitcoin to $300k!

So how many people joined and who won the game?

I was like 15 minutes late... when I opened SwC I just saw my balance refunded! So the game was canceled, I am not sure did anyone else registered after me...

Well those enthusiasm came because back then alot of us had alot more free time because of the covid situation so yeah. It was fun back then but as I've stated, sometimes most people will lose their motivation to play especially if they are not winning anything at all. Anyway I'll definitely join the next series if we ever had one but probably we wont have one this year

Even if there is, I doubt that we will get as much as 9 players on average for the whole series. Probably 6-7 players on average

I know Arallmuus! And I agree with you! I guess it will be hard to gather players for the next series, as it's hard to gather players now!

Until that happens, we still have a lot of other games to play! I have two BigBTC tickets sitting on SwC for a looong time, the game is at 1 AM for me, so I will have to make some special organization if I wish to play it!

3795  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto trading vs Forex trading on: June 06, 2021, 08:17:05 PM
It's like asking "which is more profitable? selling fruits or vegetables?".

Both can work(assuming you actually know how to trade in the first place), which is "better" and "more profitable" will just completely depend on the trader. On which asset characteristics will you be better at trading. High volatility vs low volatility, swing trading vs scalping, etc.

After this comment, we should stop commenting further! You said it all! Anything can be profitable if you know "how to do it"! People are making money in million ways, some more some less, as always!
High volatility is good for day traders! Who finds some patterns can make money every day! Of course, this is one of those things that are easier to be said than done! Where are chances for high profit there is also a risk from losing what you have, one doesn't go without the other!

So what is more profitable?! I guess trying both and learning both will bring you closer to the answer to what is more profitable for you and your set of skills!

I have a few BFG token I will be in a hurry to buy more once trading starts it's very tempting to invest on BSW and BFG token I'm sure there will be huge liquidity in the BFG - BSW pair and it will eclipse the BNB - CAKE pair, now we have two profitable coin to invest BFG and BSW.

I feel your enthusiasm, and I am pretty much confident in these two projects... at least I see two projects here, BFG and BSW! They are doing something new here, it's how I see it, and what they are doing, and how they are doing it, obviously have very good results! For now, I don't have many reasons to doubt all this, and I will try to add more BFG tokens... and I am looking into BSW and their nice interest rates for staking some coins! I will probably join that too in the next period!
At the same time, I have some reserves! I don't trust anything 100%, so as always never invest more than you can afford to lose! The main rule! What we can say for now is that if these two continue to be great as they are, BFG and BSW can be very profitable in the long run... let's hope for that, and not think about what can go wrong! Wink

I saw this game, but I like Florentine Football: Sport of the Modern Gladiator more! These guys don't have weapons and armor, but they do run for some ball and fight for it!

And here you can see how this game really looks like : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imI7dpzKIoE

There are some really crazy sports around! Thanks to YouTube we have a chance to see all of them! I like to watch new things, many times I was shocked and surprised (like many) by the things I see, but it can amazing and very funny in the same time!
Some interesting facts about this game:

Quote
What is Calcio Storico Italy?
Calcio fiorentino (also known as calcio storico "historic football") is an early form of football (soccer and rugby) that originated in 16th-century Italy. Once widely played, the sport is thought to have started in the Piazza Santa Croce in Florence.

Quote
How many people have died in Florentine football?
While there have been no deaths during the game in modern times, there have been numerous cases of players hospitalized, sometimes for months. City authorities in 2007 banned the match for a year after a brawl which saw around 50 players (that's almost all of them) taken to court

Guys, are we playing GOSU Rounders tomorrow?
The tournament is in the lobby, but not many players have registered so far(only me, actually Smiley ).
...
Let's play some good poker! Good luck, everyone! Smiley

I am in! Good luck!

Well Im not going to play tomorrow so best of luck to you guys  Smiley

Thanks man! There will be more games, we will fight next time! Smiley

I don't know the exact stats, but after playing in all Bitcointalk Poker Series, I think there were 50+ different players, participating at one point or another. Why do we keep losing players is a mystery to me. True that our game is great even with only 3 of us there, but we all know that the more the better, right? Smiley

Well majority of us are recreational players so yeah some get bored overtime, especially when you are not winning anything at all. Playing poker is pretty tiring sometimes, you spend hours to play only to find yourself in ITM bubble. So its kinda understandable that most people dont even bother to join it anymore.

I feel that some long break in between before we start the next series might be good though. Eventually some people might come back and join

I think we need a leader, organizer! There's no point to repeat history, but we had people (we know whom) who arranged everything! All we had to do is to deposit money and play! Smiley Funny or sad... decide for yourself, in the end, FOMO was some kind of cheater and not honest with all of us! But that was the moment when things started to fall apart!

As Betwrong said we can have a good poker, even a couple of us... but what we miss is the enthusiasm and energy we had in the beginning! Someone to push things, to search for sites willing to host us and sponsor us... to find willing people to do spreadsheets, statistics, lottery! Almost every week free entries, almost every week secret prizes! So it was not just wasting time and energy, money was involved too!

So who is ready to take that position now?! And to try to do something similar as "we know who" did it?!
3799  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this a good plan for learning tradning ? on: June 05, 2021, 06:51:14 PM
In the event that stock or forex exchanging, you can begin with demo account, you can begin with watching exchanging recordings if crypto, there are a ton of recordings accessible in any event, for the three kinds of exchanging. By perusing you will for the most part find out about the hypotheses and those speculations don't work the vast majority of the occasions since the market developments are significantly more confounded than them.

Is a demo account necessary for a beginner trader? Link to the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5341101.msg57127761#msg57127761

I think it's a great plan to learn about trading! Let's not go into how you plan to do it... with demo versions or with some initial capital! Will you start with Bitcoin or some other coins, will you try following some trading signals... Any path can be a good path, in the end, everything depends on many factors! What's important I think is that trading can be anyone's side activity! Nobody is forced to trade every day all day! You can be a short and long-run trader... you can adjust your trading with your free time! There's a lot of activity around the globe, so any time for placing orders can be a good time for trading with some coins!

Learn how trading works, and most importantly learn how to make it work (to be profitable) with the time and money you have!
3800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin should be taxed on: June 05, 2021, 03:43:33 PM
In Ron Paul's view, bitcoin is money, and it should be taxed as such. How do you view this information?

This is happening already, most countries that have accepted bitcoin are already taxing it, it's not new, a tax is a responsibility, it's the lifeblood of a county therefore we have to pay, if we evade tax, make sure we do it well so we will not face a problem in the future.

Bitcoin is regulated, therefore it should be tax, that's my view.
- Taxes may be our responsibility but after we solve the tax problem, the government will take responsibility of someone who received money from us or they will try to delay the timing of many problems, usually here there are a lot of risks like being hacked and stolen and a lot of cases of scams, I still don't see the effect of government service, asking for tax would be relatively unreasonable. Fully catering to the participants will never have a story of possible tax evasion but unfortunately, the government has never done its duty to protect us.

I can agree with you Conected! But I must add one thing, a lot depends on the country where you live!

Saintough, we can say that Bitcoin is regulated, we know how coins are being created and distributed, and we know how to transact them... and some countries regulated it in their own way, and if you are cashing them out through the bank, depending on the country where you live, you will probably have to pay some taxes! While in some countries it's harder to cash out, maybe you pay more fees before you get to the cash, but nobody is taxing you!

It will be an interesting future... some governments and countries are speaking about higher taxes for crypto! This new bullish period made another bach of milionares and billionaires... and it wasn't hard to imagine governments trying to take a piece of cake for them!
