3781  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think this is a good strategy ? on: March 27, 2020, 10:54:16 AM
Well, if your orders keep getting filled at that price you may find it hard to focus on other important things. I guess that will even cost you more fees(depending on exchange). I think you are too careful not to lose anything Smiley . You could just risk a little and aim for profit by selling at a reasonable "high".
3782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Very Important Advice for Devs on: March 27, 2020, 10:04:26 AM
A good project doesn't need to pay to be listed on the IEO platform. As far as i know, if this is not needed at all. Those exchange sites have been scamming the ico creators and some creators have even paid a lot of money. It looks like we must also need to create awareness into its official thread again.
The developer must understand it correctly about the possibility to be scammed by thosee xchange sites.
Well this is another one, what do you mean by good projects doesn't need to pay to be listed on IEO platform? It's always about the money, even binance makes new projects buy some BNB tokens first before other requirements

It shouldn't be about the money. It should mostly be about Blockchain/decentralization principles.
Developers not doing things the right way, even a little bit derailment can have serious consequences for "crypto/Blockchain" Projects.
Imagine rearing cats to protect you from large rats, instead of letting the cats do their jobs you put them in cages 24/7 or you keep them inside the rats home and tie them with ropes.
3783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does good side of gambling overcomes its negative side? on: March 27, 2020, 08:22:19 AM
"Bet but don't gamble".
Try to reduce taking big risk as much as possible. If you wish to earn consistent profits from sport betting for example, learn how it work, practice with free/demo betting to gain the required skill to succeed in that space. If learning sport betting doesn't work for you, then don't bet ... If you must bet, bet with little amounts or what you can afford to lose. Don't gamble with your time, money, health etc..
3784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: March 27, 2020, 08:05:52 AM
There are some alternatives such as what you have said... casino and also there are some gambling sites that offers a sports video game simulation (I really don't know what it is called) however I'm not quite sure how that works I mean how fair is it.

In my case since I don't go back to playing casino and sports betting was postponed I think I should play a casino game (With fake/no value coin) online the only thing I want is the entertainment and the feeling that I am winning lol.

If you're looking for something to do with this time you can either practice somethings that you really like, read a book, reflect, exercise or anything that would increase your possibility in this world.

Still gambling if you spend alot of time on things that add no good value to your life.

I watched a really interesting survival game on youtube yesterday or few days ago and I learned really useful and interesting things. That is one of the things I will probably invest some time and money on. It was really interesting and a bit satisfying.

the site looks a lot similar to freebitcoin same mechanism and all, it does look better and more professional tho.. Nice work

How about Provable fair feature? I guess you missed mentioning it or you don't have it?

You could add games that players can learn  positive and useful things from ... so that even if they lose a bet, they would have learned something useful and is applicable in their lives. The games need to be safe though.

Betting sites should seriously consider this..
3786  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This Is Our Last Chance to Protect Our Privacy Amid the COVID-19 Crisis on: March 27, 2020, 07:20:53 AM
"When governments seize emergency powers, they never give them up. Under the pretext of monitoring and tracking the spread of the disease, government mass surveillance via mobile phone tracking risks becoming normalized. Algorithmic bias now goes beyond academic studies as opaque algorithms can and will decide who can travel and work in places like China, and will no doubt soon decide who lives and who dies from the virus. Is this the world we want our children to inherit?"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/this-is-our-last-chance-to-protect-our-privacy-amid-the-covid-19-crisis

Tracking the location of your mobile device isn't dangerous for anyone.Hacking everyone's mobile device and gathering access to all the information and applications inside is the real danger here(and I doubt that it might happen).
Countries with a long democratic history in the western world can't turn into dictatorships that easy.
High tech solutions and algorithms can help for some aspects of the pandemic, but they are not a panacea.
By the way, mobile device tracking isn't effective at all.I don't ware my mobile device all the time.
If I leave my device at home, nobody can track my real location.

It's actually dangerous if not done transparently and properly. I believe this things should be decentralized, private/anonymous, safe and transparent. Everyone should be involved in supervising one another to prevent abuse.
There will be problems If this get into the wrong hands or if those incharge turn evil.
3787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Does Bitcoin Have Value? on: March 26, 2020, 05:34:16 PM
Bitcoin needs fiat and fiat determines its value. Fiat acts as a fuel to Bitcoins value. Without fiat being pumped into Bitcoin it has no practical use or value. Considering other cryptocurrencies in the market Bitcoin does not perform well as payment processor. Without its Fiat value Bitcoin won't be accepted by any vendors online or offline.

Your analysis is bookish and does hold any practical stand.

I don't think it needs fiat at all. One of the problems preventing mass adoption is hostility toward Bitcoin. If you could create an autonomous community that makes Bitcoin it main currency, Bitcoin will thrive in the community... Imagine if you have many of such communities. And If the community members prefer physical currency or cash to a virtual one, you could  replicate the Bitcoin Blockchain in physical form so that it's totally independent of virtual Bitcoin Blockchain and the internet. The community can always merge the entire transactions on the physical Bitcoin Blockchain to the virtual Blockchain whenever internet is found. But it definitely can exist without the internet as long as possible while retaining the features of its virtual form like immutablity, transparency, deflationary coin, censorship resistant, privacy/anonymity, trustless/permissionless etc
3788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Corona Virus coin on: March 26, 2020, 02:40:55 PM
It's a little bit surprised but nothing unacceptable. Clearly it's a trash coin. There're even some more ridiculous coins, such as PutinCoin, TrumpCoin, Sexcoin, Titcoin...etc. Yobit and Livecoin play important roles listing them.

The unfortunate thing is that "people" will create this things and joke about it. Some will even mock those who are naive enough to buy them.

Well, If exchanges have good crypto-friendly standards for listing projects, bad/substandard projects will reduce to the low level.
This problem is one of the reasons I believe real decentralized exchanges will be great for listing and filtering out projects that are below standard. A good DEX could have a section for permissionless/trustless listing of projects while another section made for good projects  filtered out through decentralized governance or regulation.
3789  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This Is Our Last Chance to Protect Our Privacy Amid the COVID-19 Crisis on: March 26, 2020, 10:42:09 AM

Tracking mobile phones in Korea worked to contain the virus though. They did it just when someone infected who was in the plane, they contact all those in the plane and let them isolate themselves. This is sort of a very effective to them. We might not like this survellance as we want privacy but this works in this kind of crisis.

I think the tracking thing can be done in a safe way without exposing people to more dangerous risks. It should be very transparent, anonymous/private, safe/secure, immutable, trustless/permissionless, censorship resistant etc... Normally in societies, people who lose these good features/right are the dangerous ones, right?
Thankfully, real cryptocurrency have most/all of the features hardcoded or as a principle
3790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk has been blocked in Russia because of Gambling advertisement on: March 26, 2020, 08:56:42 AM
You mean talking about gambling(gambling discussion) caused a whole site to be blocked or is betting banned in the Country?
Well, if it's about BitStarz, I think the betting company should be handled by the law in the lawful way.
3791  Other / Off-topic / Re: To help at this covid-19 time includes landlords cutting down rents for tenants on: March 26, 2020, 08:38:16 AM
I do think everyone and everything should be making a little contribution. We need to simply become one with the rest and come up with a selfless act. If the tenant is indeed not earning a penny while the lockdown is going on, the landlord could of course cut the rent down or even make it free. But it has to be according to his economic capacity as well because it could mean that he will not be earning also if in case all his tenants are not earning. It has to be a two-way flow. And the government should also be coming in for some necessary assistance.

Exactly. Through selfless acts we help each other survive and may not even realize it. It's one of the best ways to survive in crisis periods without exposing yourself to even bigger dangers. In such times, I would seriously avoid owing debts to imperfect things with the propensity to do/become evil. I would have to be sure of paying back the debts before borrowing.

Only JESUS can save you in this case, if you sincerely accept HIM, believe and do HIS teachings(believe and live according to his words). In HIM Alone we find safety. 100% guarantee! Don't go back to your old bad ways again and you are totally safe...

3792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 26, 2020, 08:15:03 AM
It is okay if we want to gamble after Coronavirus ends, but we must search for the right information that the crisis really ends so we can go to that place without worry. We can make sure that the place is open again for people to gamble so we can play gambling again, but we still need to be careful because that doesn't mean the virus will come back in the future. Perhaps, we can wait for 3 months or so after the crisis ends because I think all business, including the gambling industry, needs to prepare everything before they back to the business. They will also need to make sure that their place is safe for all people who come to their place.

In my opinion, it not a good idea to gamble (not to be confused with "betting") after the crisis unless you are a good "risk" taker.
No one should be proud saying he/she will take big risk with his money/time after the crisis is over, well, unless maybe that person does well in taking "risk"("safe risk" to be precised).
3793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: March 26, 2020, 07:42:42 AM
Day trading activity is unmatched by gambling. In a day of trading you have the opportunity to win and lose according to the strategy used. Gambling allows you to win randomly. Only you choose the best activity that suits you and improve your skills and above all act with caution.

Day Trading and gambling give you two choices, obviously that is winning and losing and that do not depend on the strategy used since the price chart will be the one telling the price changes and not your strategy. As gambling can ruin your balance, day trading is better since you will jsut lost some profit based on the price changes but not all of it.
Day trading is a better option than gambling in many ways and sensible people prefer risking their money in day trading than on gambling all the time. Gambling shall be done off and on that too without a large amount of money. Day trading never makes you bankrupt but this can easily happen in the case of former.

Ofcourse. Crypto Trading is less risky type of betting... less risky than many/most types of bettings or prediction markets. I guess other betting types (the safe/good ones especially) could even consider bit by bit winnings/losses, like in crypto trading instead of the normal "win all/loss all" your fund kind of thing... guess they do it already?

3795  Other / Off-topic / Re: Quarantine boring on: March 26, 2020, 06:45:10 AM
1. Jump on a site like CodeAcademy and try teaching yourself a new computer programming language.
2. Teach yourself a new language. A language you have always wanted to learn.
3. Teach yourself a hobby, like playing the Guitar or something.

BTW, for most people, unless you have traveled, Quarantine doesn't necessarily mean you HAVE to stay home and not go outside (I know this kind of goes against the definition, but I hope most will know what I mean). You can go outside provided you practice social distancing / stay away from others / do things on your own. I've been tempted to head out north (I'm in Canada) and do some sight-seeing or explore towns I haven't explored before. Must be a ghostly sight with almost everything being absolutely deserted.

If this is the case, I wonder why some are trying to get cities and towns deserted.
A single person could safely go out to farm, buy stuff in store occupied by one seller, practice the social distancing in moderate gatherings in open space, etc
I really wonder why some are trying to make it look like it's forbidden to go outside, especially to work and buy things in places with good social distancing and other preventative measures

3796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Use case ideas vs blockchain on: March 25, 2020, 03:53:29 PM
I've seen even the Blockchain devs focused right now on the developing pandemic so don't expect many new ideas to pop up this year. Saving lives is more important than developing a Blockchain idea which can be continued at any time.

But even if we wouldn't have had the pandemic, I guess the main point that the ideas are starting to be repetitive is somewhat valid. But hey, restaurants have existed for hundreds of years and yet owning a restaurant or investing in one is still exciting. The key thing here, in the blockchain world, is making things better. If you take a look at Bitcoin, it did have some great and large updates in the past decade but it hasn't really changed much. However, I'm still as excited to use and own it as I was 7 years ago!

New ideas cannot pop and be developed every day. I'm entirely sure there are some genius projects out there being developed that haven't been publicized yet. Give the Blockchain world some time and something innovative will pop up for sure. We have enough smart devs to make me believe it. Smiley

Right. But you can still help save lives while working on projects or being in Crypto space without getting involved directly in the current crisis
If you are into development of decentralized marketplaces for example, you could switch to making the marketplace reachable to families affected by crisis or   focus more on creating solutions within the marketplace to help reduce the crisis.

We cannot all abandon the development of decentralized projects for something we are probably not qualified to handle. I think the commerce people call this division of labor. All people (wherever they work) should definitely channel their skills into creating solutions that can help solve the current problem in societies
3797  Economy / Economics / Re: $6,000,000,000,000 of helicopter money is coming on: March 25, 2020, 01:26:01 PM
Think about this:

Quote
$6 Trillion Dollars
            ÷
130,000,000 U.S households
--------------------------------
 = $46,153.84 per household

Meanwhile the stimulus checks they are sending out are $1,200 or less per person. Epic! People are getting their future sold down the river in the biggest bailout in history, for 1200 bucks of printed money in their bank accounts. How far is that going to get them?

Is the whole thing really going to 130,000,000 households or businesses or both?
If you give that much to households, and they spend it the wrong way, you end up achieving little.
Imagine people spending $100 for something many depend on, that initially cost $5  and are hard to produce quickly.      Hopefully companies don't start producing easy-to-make "substandard"/low quality foods, chicken, drugs, etc to meet demands.

The wise could use that amount for rearing animals, farming, and producing basically self-sustaining, quality, easy-to-source/natural products that are  independent of the "big centralized whole"
3798  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's try to stop bad people, one try can safe someone on: March 25, 2020, 10:32:33 AM
You mean people asking for donations to help with the current problems in societies? Well, I never really liked donating money online without  enough strong proofs.
I believe donations like that would work well on well decentralized, transparent, safe, Blockchain/decentralized network.
Better to just go directly to people in need and help-out or donate. Or we could use a very transparent, honest, safe organizations/people with no evil agenda and send them our donations.
3799  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies play the role of real money as medium of exchange? on: March 25, 2020, 09:42:33 AM
A well decentralized and properly governed cryptocurrency can actually become "real money and real medium of exchange". Infact, it can become one of the best (if not the best) money, if things are done properly. It's quite easy to put things in order, but I wonder why real or important developments/implementations are slow... probably due to good and useful ideas/things getting supressed?
3800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 25, 2020, 09:05:51 AM
Well, people should avoid the crowded places like that when necessary, until everything calms down again.
By the way, the physical casinos and other crowded places like that could also provide enough hand sanitizer and other hygiene stuff close to those machines for people to use.,

It is a great opportunity for the cryptocurrency casinos that have a lot of gambling games apart from sports betting to show off in the market.
I hope they are going to get strong reputation during the coronavirus era and people start seeking for online ways of gambling.
The crypto market gives an alternative to this activities.

Ofcourse.
But I would rather call it betting than gambling. It would be nice in online future to ask people to "bet but don't gamble". Bettors will be aware of the difference and that will probably help reduce the temptation to gamble or take big risk in online casinos. Who knows, the use of the word gamble for all bettings could be "psychological" pushing safe bettors into gambling.
