While I won't complain about an increase in BTC price, a rise from $218 to $230 won't really have any significant effect on mining operations I don't believe. I don't think there are Petahash's sitting on the sidelines just waiting for a $15 bump in BTC price. Now $300 will motivate some folks to restart operations in my opinion.

I think it's not so much about someone restarting mining, but perhaps someone not turning their Ant S2 off just yet. By the way I purchased my S2s nearly a year ago and they are still (barely) profitable at $0.10 USD per kWh. Marvelous. Spondoolies SP10 is another ancient model still running strong.
yes or a small miner downclocks and upclocks avalon 4.1's or sp20's

since the power efficiency  changes with the clocks.
37822  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: April 28, 2015, 03:34:24 AM
u guys do relize it was stated a long time ago that dodge and nmc were put on hold , dodge is just a bonus , and nmc is not merge mined , something was said to the extent of the way the payouts were calcualted were off so it was put on hold , until they could redo it , both dodge and nmc are purchased by the pool admin and given out as a bonus.

honestly id like ot have seen them removed form the dashboard for the time being till its fixed , but no big deal

as far as payouts ive been threw the same delays as everyone else and always goten paid it sucks yeah but do i worry about being paid ever no i dont. if i need my btc very quickly ill switch off some hashpower to another pool when my balance starts to get high.i stick around at the pool one because its payout amounts are consistant from day to day , the pool is super stable and i get the best hashrate there.the biggest reason i stay is the community of pool users imho no better community of users u can trust then at ban

and kano u have ur own pool u shouldn't have a single thing to say here ive mined on ur pool and ur payouts suck , hashrate is unstable , not to mention the constant disconnects

I want to mine here, but the op has not done enough to make me feel safe.

If I rent 1ph for .0096 btc a th this pool pays 0.0106 per th .

That is a 0.0010 btc profit per th x 1000 it is a 1btc profit for a 1 ph rental  that only way i can  lose is this pool does not pay me.   Since the pool is paying so  late It becomes too hard for me to send rentals here.
37823  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2100 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: April 28, 2015, 03:26:38 AM

..

I should also add Smiley some people in other pools have made comment about me commenting in other threads ...
but that was something I did all the time (for over 3 years) before I started the pool here last year.
You could say that the crap I've seen other pools do are some of the things that I make sure I don't do.

lol, just reading them now; you should listen to him, that newbie with 26 posts knows so much better then you !!*ehem*
and you too philipma1957, you're not mining there no more, no more say from you, and no more "dodge" for you too

wait, this user isn't opentoe, right?

You guys rock! I have a quick question. Are there known issues with the s2? I'm asking because I just got one and it refuses to connect to the pool. Is there anything I can try or should I just point it at ck pool? Again, thank you guys, for all that you do.

got the right arguments set? (i know, small stupid question)

oh I will go read it now thank you.

Just don't get too crazy, alright? I don't want this thing to turn into another SP20 Legendaries party and spam the whole front page. We might should start a unified thread for all reviews or something to keep information centralized and not obnoxious.

No I do not want that shit to happen.  We can do 1 tester's thread   much better.  whoever wants to start it works for me.  I only suggest that whomever starts the thread  self mod it as the testers don't sell the gear.

We don't need  that controversy that happened with the sp20 as 10 plus got a unit to review.

"Unified Gekko usb testing review thread by x number of testers"

could be the title.  or something like that.
37825  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newest Diff thread April 19th to May 1st (Not open for picks until Tues) on: April 28, 2015, 02:45:57 AM
I believe this is up to date.

 http://btc.blockr.io/charts

145  Apr   19th  half old adjustment
155  Apr   20th    + 12
157  Apr   21st    + 25
149  Apr   22nd   + 30
131  Apr   23rd   + 17 blocks is real time number
124  Apr   24th    -  3   blocks is a real time number at the end of the 24th
159  Apr   25th   + 22 blocks
151  Apr   26th   + 29 blocks
135  Apr   27th   + 20 blocks

we have made 1218 blocks   we are +20 so we should have made 1198 blocks  this means we are  +1.66 %

We had some very low days the 23rd , 24th and the  27th were very low.

The 20th, 21st and 25th were very high.  this pattern looks like variance more then a trend. but who knows.

37826  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: April 28, 2015, 02:44:01 AM
Here is most of the 110 related parts, 220 I still need to take pictures of.

You will see outlet boxes, receptacles, screws/bolts, clams for cable on boxes.  And on wire there is the standard 12-2 yellow wire.  Below that i the box is the now rare grey 12-2 before they changed it in the 90's.   Still great wire on the grey biggest difference is if anything it is insulated better, its harder to strip the wires and main cord.

that gray wire was a bitch to strip.  I wired my entire house in the 90's  I had aluminum and switched to copper.  I had a 250 foot roll of it.  I was glad when I ran out of it.  But it was better quality wire.

I did a few 10 gauge 20 amp wired for subwoofers .  10 gauge was also hard to use.
37827  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 28, 2015, 01:27:53 AM
I got my pm from sidehack and I am looking forward to testing the prototype.

Will do a separate thread with photos and results.
37828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 28, 2015, 01:16:53 AM
Also, just to report - the rigged prototype has been running at 200MHz (11GH/s) off 630mV and about 700mA (approximately 0.32W/GH) for 68 hours with 12 HW errors reported. I'm okay with that.

It's excellent but it's impossible to make a ROI with a USB miner unless you sell them for $5. Do you have plans to make something larger?

he has plans for 2 chip usb miner about 20gh and about 30 bucks.

he has plans for a bigger board.

that can attach to an s-1 or an s-3 heatsink.
37829  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Anminer C9 speculation thread on: April 28, 2015, 01:11:05 AM
I am speculating that C9 will have 9TH and uses gasoline as a cooling liquid.

boom boom boom every time it hits a block.

I know this is spec but such a silly coolant ; gasoline.   Cheesy

@ck I figured this was a future for small miners.  Yeah I split 7btc but it is only  750 usd  each.

How many have spent 1000 on miners not to mention power costs.

This pool allows for renting sites to male money ck to make money and guys like 727miner to make money.

6 of  a total 7 btc spent  and no blocks

{"hashrate1m": "294T", "hashrate5m": "326T", "hashrate1hr": "330T", "hashrate1d": "70.3T", "hashrate7d": "11.1T", "lastupdate": 1430144863, "workers": 3, "bestshare": 747314075.53609562}

Well that sucked... But we tried. I will be ready to try some more once those coins clear.

yeah we are done 7.02 btc I tossed in a little extra after fees 6.877 was spent  we always rented 325th we paid as low as 0.0093 and as high as 0.0104

37831  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newest Diff thread April 19th to May 1st (Not open for picks until Tues) on: April 27, 2015, 09:32:40 PM
when network hash is 1000x of current one.

Do you mean network difficulty, or the total hash rate of the network?  I don't expect we'll see either grow 1000 fold again, not without completely new mining technology or bitcoin value going through the roof; neither of which are sure things..

I mean total hash rate but could be network difficulty since its just a(n approximate) conversion of it.

Anyway, I said 1000x for visualisation purposes. I also didnt say in a near future. My purpose is to understand how the variance behaves when network hash rate grows enourmously than todays.

when the network grows like mad variance  is harder to see or determine.  since upswings could be growth and or variance.

when the network is flat variance is easier to see since up  swings   are most likely variance due to no real growth.
37832  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin usage is flat on: April 27, 2015, 02:50:01 PM
Most bitcoin users are speculators and not consumers. Bitcoin is failing miserably on the consumer side.

If someone can explain to Joe down the street why he should jump through verification hoops so he can buy bitcoins on coinbase, and then go make purchases for goods and services at a limited number of places using those freshly exchanged bitcoins, while he could have bought those same goods and services at those same places, and at a wider range of places, with the debit card he already has in his wallet, then Bitcoin usage will increase.

It's strongest values are speculation as an inflation hedge. escape money incase your country falls apart.  to use it as worldwide currency  may work in thrid world countries but in a fairly stable place send a coin to a company for an item is not worthwhile to a buyer.

The biggest problem is the average Joe down the street really should not use it to shop.  Why? hardly any protection for him.

Now I have multiple accounts with coins.

Do I really ever want to shop with my coins?  no because the seller can fuck me far too easily.

Once you make an escrow service for btc that protects the buyer you basically add a ton of cost to moving the money.
I do not think it will ever catch on for buyers of products.
I have free cc's :

 with 60 price match
fraud if hacked
1 year returns
2x warranty
and they earn 5% back.

How on earth does btc match that for a buyer.  the answer is they do  not and can not match that.

So BTC for me has speculation value.  And if I ever need to run from a country due to it collapsing I will be able to access coins once I get out.

i'm curious how s4 does with higher temp...

comparing it to s4+ looks to be more aluminium in the s4
slightly less wattage in the s4

the chips in s4+ might be newer and better too, so higher temps might be ok on the asics

s3+ looks perfect for summer, 25c ambient temps and almost 40c reported in webguy

It's stormy week for me today high is less than 70 F. So I won't be able to compare to well to the 80's or so that I expect during summer at some point.

So far they have done great. The only thing is the S4 with broken fan runs about 10 C higher then rest of miner, I did not like it so I underclocked it since hitting high 50's (Higher then I like).  Mid week I should be get the new S4 replacement S4 fan.

I like that mindset.  I find that underclocking has really worked well for me.  My 2 last s-3's are batch 1 they have run 24/7 since july of 2014 0 issues.

so we made 1142 blocks and should be at 1113  so we are +2.60% at the moment.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty  says  (-0.19%)   but they use some of the last adjustment to get that guess.

Ok so I couldnt run 19x HEX*Furys or NF6's...

But I could run 8 on the top with using 2x usb ports each.

Kinda sucks Sad

frankly unless your power is free the hex furys or nf6's are pretty much worthless.

they pull about 1 watt per gh  at current coin price you need to pay 9 cents per kwatt and 1x

6 chip stick  makes 4 cents a month

if you pay 10 cents a kwatt the stick will lose .3 cents a month.

my advice is wait for the gekko sticks buy 3 double sticks at maybe 100 bucks buy the hub at 80 and run them.

one stick will earn 92  cents a month at current rates  run for a month and if you don't like what you are doing there will be a buyer or two.
37837  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: April 27, 2015, 01:19:32 PM
Been testing my new area with just the gear in it I showed.  Going to take my time and slowly get rest of it wired.

I had a problem I did not think I would have.  During night with my 3 fans (I still have not put 4th out there) it gets so cold I don't need near what I'm using.  During day it still seems pretty nice in there considering amount of watt's air exhaust currently working good.

So now I am left with spending to much on fans at night .  I either will do a timer on some where at night they kick off and don't run them all.  Or do a more advanced fix where it turns all off at certain temperature and flips on over that temperature.

I have a link for you wait for it.

Will it run the HEX*Fury's too?

Or even the NanoFury NF6's?

see this photo the stick with the number on it  is a one chip  ran it easy.
the black are 2 chip fury.

notice I have bridges not being used that combine to 1.8 amp = 9watts  these will run the 6 chip sticks

I do not know if the bridges are available.
I no longer have any sticks. I gave 2 to gekko science
I sold the other to a developer that wanted to test some ideas.
I am waiting on a stick or two from gekko science to test.

37839  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best USB Asic (maybe Scrypt based too?) on: April 27, 2015, 01:06:36 PM
here is a really good hub

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Dipo-19-port-USB-Hub-20-Amps-110-240V-USB-2-0-1A-per-port-/111581865131?

I own 2 of them  we had 2 sellers of these on this site.

klintay had them .   some one else did but I forgot his name.

this hub will do .9 amps or 4.5 watts which means it will  run the 1 chip newly designed  gekkoscience sticks well.

the psu in it has a good reserve I would think you can run 12 gekko sticks with it at 10-12gh  maybe more.

Frankly I would not trust the op.  He refused to meet with  danny h.  Strong chance he is looking to con someone to take a fake cc or paypal.

Also he could be a signature shill. Posting a topic to allow people in signature campaigns to post here with legit answers.

I won't post again.  And I do not believe him as he would not meet with danny h.

Also classic excuse I forgot to backup my files.  Feel sorry for him and send him a coin that he charges on his cc and good luck to you.
