I have a stupid question but better to ask then to a bullshit.
I want to dual mine ETH (with Claymore) and XMR (with xmrig-nVidia) on the same time on machine equipped with GTX 1060 6GB. If the market has dropped i think i can win some more money with this dual minning thing. Do you think I can do it? And if I do it won't screw the GPUs or something else?
Yes, you can but don't expect double the profits from it. Hashrate in both the algorithms will be affected severely and expect a lot of instability on both of the instances. Still, you can give it a try and post your results here for others with the same question.

Until and unless the market goes back to the times of ATH of BTC and alt-coins, there won't be much profitability going around. If this continues to be the case, more miners will shut down their rigs because there is no use in keeping them mining even if it makes break even as its just unnecessary strain on the miners.

Wrong Thread. Move it to Marketplace or Announcements. This thread is for mining-related discussions only.

My-My! That's state of the art hardware you got there. Which case is that? Thermaltake?

It will be something like a home scale miner software with large scale support.
Stability will be #1 priority. For home users devfee will be based on miner's performance. I am almost sure it will not be the fastest miner but it will match the income with adjusted devfee. I have some ideas about devfee vs hashrate
I just need to weight the cons/pros with your questions and ideas. Thanks
I don't think so it will be beneficial to build a miner for AMD supporting only Ethash algorithm. Correct, there aren't any great alternatives for Claymore miner on Linux but most of the custom Linux OS oriented towards mining are already packaging Claymore for Ethash since the beginning. You will have to bring a lot more to the table, like improved hashrate by +5%, less power consumption than current gen miners, auto-tuning features and such, not to mention everything that other miners already offers. Moreover, people will need all of the above to even think about migrating towards a new miner and configuring it for their rigs. So if you think you can deliver something exceptional with your miner, then you can give it a go or else it won't be worth your time developing one.

If the wait time is not an issue. Give Aliexpress a try. Link
Just a dollar for a piece.

Finally an update! Been waiting for lyra2z to be compatible with 1080ti and 1080s.

Did you check the memory manufacturer of the cards? Are all the cards from the same manufacturer? I'll still recommend using Windows for the initial stage as it is easy to get the configurations in place and then make a transition to Linux.

mining specific coin instead of mining the algorithm on nicehash for example is far away from calculator results i mined criptoreal for 24 hours
calculators say above 400 CRS i will mine but on hashpool.eu i just mined 211 CRS
The hashrate and difficulty of a low cap coin can vary drastically and the calculators give an assumption of the earnings based on current hashrate which is never the case when mining.

60 - 65 degrees is acceptable for the long run. Above 70 is not suitable for 24-hour operation and above 75 will definitely break something in the long run. Pretty sure, someone might be cooking a custom firmware for Z9 mini which will increase the hashrate and lower the power consumption, thus the temps' reduction.

With the incoming ASICs on a variety of algorithms, re-birth of FPGA Mining with insane hashrate on a few algorithms, overpriced GPUs, Release of new architecture GPUs around the corner, Bearish Crypto market are plentiful reasons to wait and see what will become of the future of GPU mining.

I'll suggest giving Ubuntu 16.04 a try as it will have a better community support for your issues. Anyway, there is plenty of custom Linux firmwares built for mining such as nvOC for Nvidia, Give it a try.

Hi. Wanna ask if mining still profitable this day? We know that mining requires a lot of energy(electricity).
Farm mining requires a lot of electricity at a cheap rate. Hobby mining with just one or two rigs, not that much. It's all about perspective nowadays, some are happy making a good amount, some are complaining about the profit drops and not having the same profitability like last year (probably the people who are in it for the money), a few are still here for learning and trying new stuff.

I'm pretty sure your cards are BIOS modded. Try this: 1. Reinstall Windows but use 1709 version and block all the updates before-hand and stay at this version. 2. Connect first four cards and install the Blockchain drivers, patch the drivers. 3. Connect rest of the cards and let the system copy the driver files for the other GPUs. 4. Check if the drivers are still patched. 5. Restart system, restore your OverdriveNtool settings and start hashing.

Are you sure you're getting 2300 H/s (2.3 KH/s)? On an average, GTX 1060 6GB gets 1.8-2.4 MH/s on xevan algorithm. Which miner are you using? Add some screenshots!

Hey,
I am building my first rig and have a few issues.
1. To start I optimistically just plugged everything in to see what would happen. I bought second hand stuff off eBay. I have 6 Rx580 GPUs and I noticed that the fans on two of the GPUs don't start on boot. All the lights come on though. I have tried swapping the risers and power around etc but it is always the same two. Does this mean that they are most likely broken? Or could it just be some settings that the previous owner set?
2. I am getting no output to the monitor. I have tried several different monitors that I know to work. I have also tried reseating the ram and checking the cpu and fan. I then just stripped everything right back to bare essentials and got the same result. At this point I decided to remove the cmos battery.
3. Up until this point I was getting power but once I put the battery back in the PC doesn't power up at all. I have confirmed that the PSU is ok via the paperclip test. The power was switched off but the cable was still plugged in when I removed the battery. Could this cause damage? Any hope of fixing it?
Any thoughts, help or advice would be really appreciated.
Do not try to plug all the GPUs at the start before even installing the OS and the appropriate drivers. First, install the Windows OS, configure the bios (Lane speeds to x1, disable unnecessary modules like Serial port and such, do not enable 4G Decoding yet). After Windows boot up, just connect one GPU and install the drivers. After that connect the rest of the GPUs and the drivers will be automatically installed for the same. Then enable 4G Decoding and see if all the GPUs are getting detected.

Hi everybody, I'm new on this forum. I have been trading cryptos for a while now and now I want to start my own mining operation. I have no experience in mining so I would like to get some feedback on the setup that I have in my mind. Is there any other advice you could give to a mining newby?
thankyou in advance.!
So 10 Bitmain E3 800W miners, connected to a Synology DS218+ server, and a 4000watt aircoditioning and a hot air extractioner.
What are you paying for electricity? Airconditioner is really not a way to go to cool your rigs. I'll highly suggest a push-pull configuration by using some high CFM fans which will save you up a lot of cost in electricity. Some pictures will be highly appreciated!
