381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments attempt to destroy crypto on: December 01, 2017, 03:09:29 AM
According to this theory, governments will buy up bitcoins using their own money. In order to control the majority of the bitcoin market you have to spend a lot of money now. If governments then dump their coins to destroy it, then they are basically burning their own money. If they want to destroy crypto, they will try to do it via bans or restrictions, but not by buying the entire stock and then destroying it.

Are they really "burning" their own money? They can simply print more via the central banks. That's the essential problem with pricing extremely limited commodities like Bitcoin in fiat currencies. Those fiat currencies are and can be endlessly inflated.

Accordingly, it's theoretically possible that governments could collude to accumulate and dump the markets as the OP suggests. It seems very unlikely, though, because of geopolitical realities. Governments are in stiff competition with one another. Those governments that see the writing on the wall -- that cryptocurrencies are here to stay -- will do everything they can to facilitate commercial advancement in cryptocurrency sectors. If a government can't destroy crypto, their best option is to leech as much tax revenue from it as possible.

I get your point. Clearly realizing or I just slightly forgot how manipulating, taxing, banning and destroying are completely different from each other.
Do doubt that government can not destroy Btc.
Knowing that the decentralization involves every country allowing and starting to use bitcoin. A single government ( country) suggesting to destroy bitcoin is not enough to be equal with the number bitcoin users in the world.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - Buy it OR mine it... on: November 30, 2017, 11:34:18 PM
How would we best accommodate Jack and Jill in the above scenario?

Buy and trade or buy and hodl.

Mining bitcoin, successfully (read: to earn a profit), requires more than a $5,000 investment.

Once Jack & Jill are comfortable with Bitcoin, they should consider a few other major cryptocurrencies. Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple come to mind. Each as a distinct and successful business model. Most cryptocurrencies do not.

Could not agree more.
Mining>> expensive ( tools, investments), complicated, time consuming. No assurance of profits.
Buying BTC >>  you just need to learn how to read charts. As easy as buy during dumps and sell when prices are high (trading & hodl). Time is worth it. Clear profits.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EVERY SINGLE COIN is down!! on: November 30, 2017, 03:45:39 PM
Everyone is right. Try to keep calm as you can to avoid unwise decisions. Everyone anxious about dips like this are prone to panic selling.  Events like this happens after a fast increase in prices called corrections. Try to hold on to your coins and buy more. Soon it will recover and will continue to hike up.  It's not possible that bitcoin will reach another break.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Bitcoin Cash dropping much more than Bitcoin? on: November 30, 2017, 08:03:35 AM
The recent pump was just a massive manipulation. The increase was just to attract new investors to invest in bitcoin cash. Though I think that Bcash is a good investment, I think it's not it's time today. Bitcoin is still on the top of its game and will continue until the stock is almost consumed by the market.
Even though prices are very high there is a great possibility to reach its maximum capacity when it comes to its volality. Especially with the different developments that will be created for bitcoin.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Pyramid Marketing on: November 30, 2017, 07:12:11 AM
I heard so much about pyramiding scams. But unfortunately there are bunch of these in my country. Different food supplements, whitening soaps and medications that are said to be antioxidants.
They are involving products as a package for a membership fee and once that you are a member and able to refer a friend to join you will get a commission.
I don't think if it's allowed or something but it spreads fast. Maybe because Filipinos today can do anything just to earn money even if its to good to be true.
But bitcoin being involve in a pyramiding scam, I think that is bad.
I am guessing the use of coins.Ph. They are giving rewards if you refer a friend. I think that is one.
But the buying of bitcoin and referring a friend. I haven't heard of it before. May be he is just tricking for big bucks.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go Down on: November 30, 2017, 12:40:52 AM
After the top there always a down...is it only a natural assetment of market or someone control this market and try  to cut off the new investitor of last period?

It's just a natural correction. USD 10,000,- was a huge psychological barrier. Once it was broken through the market of course got overly enthusiastic and the price grew way faster than was sustainable. So a correction like the one we saw was inevitable.

I'm just glad that this madness only lasted for barely a day. Had Bitcoin kept going like that for another 1-2 days the correction would have been far more severe.

Yes look like the rollercoaster, but i think in this days is better invest in the currency who have the change in $ like ETH STR XRP XMR BCH ETC LTC DASH ZEC etc etc...

It depends. If BTC stabilizes we might see some growth in the alt market again. Any hefty move by BTC -- regardless if up or down -- is likely to make alts bleed though.

True. I always think that corrections are healthy for bitcoin. I don't understand why people are so anxious about this kind of event. There prediction is Ten thousand dollars yet they are disappointed wherein it exceeded their own goal.
Is it about the greed only? Now that disappoints me.
387  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ADDITIONAL CAMPAIGNS!!!!! on: November 29, 2017, 01:30:41 PM
Well, you really cant really have answers if you are asking from the owner of the project himself.
Managers that.are holding the campaigns only set rules and evaluate the workers and only takes orders from the creator of the project.
If the maneger sets rules that only ranks from full members are accepted then that would be followed.
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin stops........ on: November 29, 2017, 08:51:23 AM
You know what should stop? Noobs posting topics like this. As a newbie you must read not asking about things that are far from happening. Bitcoin is just starting to boom and the only thing that could stop it is by turning off the internet which is very impractical and nonsense to be even be suggested by anyone.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Give Bitcoin As A Christmas Gift? on: November 29, 2017, 07:39:18 AM
How To Give Bitcoin As A Christmas Gift?

Gift ? For a child ? Or an adult? That would probably be an issue of holding such an amount.
For a child, it is better to give toys. They will appreciate it more.
For an adult, if you are really that generous to give bitcoin as a gift, then advise him to install his own wallet and give him the bitcoins through transactions.
Or if you will prefer giving it as fiat, exchange it or sell it. I think givingbit personally it very much heart warming.
Like there will be stories, chats and like small reunions.
Moments or time spent with the person is better I guess.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big of a role does privacy play? on: November 29, 2017, 12:19:46 AM
Bitcoin's decentralized that has the feature of anonymity of every user. And I guess it is very attractive to users. And since that you are asking why, in my own experience and opinion privacy makes me feel secure and safe as a user. Safe in the sense that identity is not identified by others, no background checks including age, status, works. And as a student, it gives us the that feeling that we can be involved in such technology.
Though it is hard to tell if the privacy is used more in negative stuffs than positive it still gives everyone an opportunity to work with equity with others disregarding the life status of a person.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments attempt to destroy crypto on: November 28, 2017, 09:39:12 PM
You're missing the incentive.  Governments have no decent incentive to attempt to "destroy" a cryptocurrency.
would love to hear what others think.
The only incentive which a government possibly could have to try and "destroy" a cryptocurrency would be to prevent its use on darknet markets, but a decrease in price would not prevent this use much at all, so they certainly would not do this.
What would stop governments from doing this?
That hypothesis is irrelevant, but if they wanted to attempt an actual attack (like a 51% attack for example), it would be extremely costly and time-consuming for something so trivial.  That's the purpose of the PoW system - to make it economically unfeasible for any single entity to attack the network.

Well op I agree with you. PoW system do prevents such events to happen. And even staying for months here in the forum you have enlightened me.
But what's bothering me was the big manipulation that just happened recently. Even though I have read about systems protecting Bitcoin it is still confusing. Leaving questions about what just happened. But grateful that I have strong hands.
392  Economy / Marketplace / Re: foodsuplements for btc? on: November 28, 2017, 12:43:39 PM
You are aiming to have a business here and involving health. Many points to be considered here.
>> effectiveness of the product. Includes the approval of any Food Organization that authorizes and supports it to be useful, and healthy.
>> make a site featuring every proof you have gathered and legalities. Market selling needs to be true in order to be effective. No one will buy if they only see someone who wants to earn. Because in real life, no one will waste a bitcoin for such product.
>>Give transparency. No one will trust a market shady.
393  Economy / Speculation / Re: As we approach $10k, a correction/crash is coming. on: November 28, 2017, 02:42:43 AM
Prices pumped at its highest this year and we have experience some correction already but at the end of every corrections prices will continue to pump and that is what we should not miss when it happens. That is your your point here if I am not mistaken. Since there are frauds and other factors that indeed influences the price movements it will trigger fear in everyone.
And you advise them to do nothing.
Well some depend their whole lives with bitcoin which is not wise and we can not blame them. But if is true that in every dip we should buy more. It will worth more including efforts.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC be blocked by government ? on: November 27, 2017, 11:59:36 PM
In fact to block bitcoin completely, you need to disable the Internet. That in fact in today's world is not possible)

I agree. Technology is a part of our daily lives today especially the internet. Good Communication leads to good ideas and with good combination of ideas there are good result. I believe that bitcoin is a great product of technology and good ideas.
This creation will only be turned down by turning off the internet which even the government will think that it is not a wise thing to do.
395  Economy / Speculation / Re: why this pump ?? on: November 27, 2017, 03:26:16 AM
Since bitcoin is used worldwide, not literally as a mode of payment by every store but sometimes a an alternative banking system, then it's hard for us to tell which influences the prices specifically.
In a day we do not know how many are encouraged to invest or who leave because of uncertainty. That is why the volality of prices are very hard to predict. Every movement may be caused by different things and happenings. Yet we need to put it all together and stop thinking negative thoughts about it. Most likely, we are the one causing FUD around. The predictions about high prices fills in the market and lets just hodl.

398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to Satoshi, please dump your 1million bitcoins on: November 26, 2017, 09:34:26 AM
lets say that Satoshi did dump his coins, 1 million is going to be eaten up by the market like there is no tomorrow! then the price recovers again in about a week, or 1 month tops and we are back where we are now. on the rise to the moon without the "fear of 1 million satoshi stash". the price would rise even faster.

now lets assume we killed bitcoin and started from scratch, what is stopping the new coin to go the same way bitcoin went? nothing! the same idiots are going to switch over and the same history will be repeated.

this only shows that you either don't understand what are the things that are going on, or you want bitcoin to drop so you can buy more!

Absolutely right. Dumping will be nonsense. If ever satoshi have a million bitcoin, what will be for him if he dumps it? Maybe it will be a huge dip for everyone to afford then it will just rise again. I think no one will want to miss that bloodbath. But surely satoshi will not dump it for someone who just wanted to get in. Of course everyone's opinion here.
And starting all over again will not make a difference. Another coins will just build up same as bitcoin and another high-priced coin exist.
399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Hit The 10K Mark Before 2018? on: November 26, 2017, 02:58:03 AM
Everyone's predictions say YES. But in my opinion it is really hard to tell the pattern and factors that could contribute to the great increase in price. Recent increase are not based on continuous adaption only but sometimes said to be related with forks and ICOs.
This week it was a bit stable ranging $8- $8.2k and another increase in yesterday to today.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin anonymity broken. You have to pay tax on: November 26, 2017, 01:58:25 AM
I also don't agree in putting taxes on bitcoin. What seems to be the problem, bitcoin is alternative to banking. I think banks will not disappear even if bitcoins exists. Fees are enough to settle it with but taxes are too much. People still pay taxes because of regular jobs. Or if people decided to make a business out of their profits then taxes are necessary. I don't think taxes for bitcoins is needed because sooner it will be in the system too.
