381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulation and apathy hit bitcoin market on: March 30, 2018, 05:07:05 PM
It's sad to say but I think it's true. Bitcoin isn't likely to see $20,000 again any time soon. There is too much negative pressure on it right now, I don't see any new big companies accepting bitcoin, as nobody wants to get their hands burned. The simple fact is, unless Bitcoin achieve mass adoption its price does not belong above $20,000. It's sad to hear but it's true, I'm already down crazy amounts and still holding, so I really don't have an agenda against BTC.

We are just starting many new things will come our way.
"What is more amazing is that Betway has not only limited the odds it is offering on Bitcoin becoming an accepted payment method to McDonalds. Retail stalwarts Argos are in at 4/5 to begin accepting Bitcoin payments by late 2018, while travel giants British Airways are currently showing as 1/3 to do the same. In what would be a major move for them and their customers, the all-conquering Amazon are in the running too, with odds of 6/4 being given by Betway."

Regulation and apathy hit bitcoin market

LONDON - Wild fluctuations within the bitcoin market have once again sparked debate between investors who believe it is merely undergoing a "correction" and those who see it as a costly fad.

After a buying fever at the end of 2017 that sent the price of a token to nearly $20,000 and a spectacular fall at the beginning of the year, bitcoin's price made a modest recovery before falling sharply again this month.

"This is a healthy correction after an exuberant 2017," said Kyle Salmani, founder of crypto-currency fund Multicoin Capital, which manages $50 million (41 million euros) of private cash.

Despite his optimism for the sector, Salmani's fund is not betting on a rise in bitcoin prices, instead focussing on competitors with more a impressive recent track record and more innovative technologies.

"Certainly the halcyon days of performance gains from 2017 seem long gone," added Jordan Hiscott, investment manager at the Ayondo Markets online platform.

THE BUBBLE BURSTS

Bitcoin now makes up only 40 percent of the volume of crypto-currency transactions, having accounted for 80 percent of the market just a few months ago, according to coinmarketcap.com data.

The weekly number of Google searches containing the term bitcoin is five times lower than at its peak, in the week of December 17 to 23.

Bitcoin now trades at around $8,000, compared with $19,511 at the end of December, according to Bloomberg figures.

Morgan Stanley analysts stressed in a note published in early March that bitcoin was behaving much like the stock market did in the dot-com crash of the 2000s, only at "15 times the speed".

However, the cryptocurrency has already lost about 90 percent of its value on two occasions since its 2009 launch -- in 2011 and 2015 -- before recovering.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see prices fall to $5,000 from here or go back above $10,000," said Craig Erlam, an analyst online currency trading platform Oanda.

But he believes that the levels reached in December will not be seen again any time soon.

"The incentives for holding bitcoin is simply the belief that it will become more adopted and widespread," he said, explaining why many were still holding onto their bitcoin wallets.

WELCOME REGULATIONS?

The market's volatility has tended to defy expert analysis, but some link the recent fall to stricter regulations.

Those policing the largest bitcoin markets, the FSA in Japan and the SEC in the United States, have increased warnings and action against suspect trading platforms.

In addition, social networks Facebook and Twitter as well as the search engine Google have all announced a ban on advertising for ICOs -- fundraising campaigns carried out in cryptocurrency.

"In the short term, it's bad news," acknowledged David Drake, who manages the LDJ Capital investment fund.

"But we need regulations," he told AFP.

Others put the volatility down to sell-offs by historical players in the bitcoin market who carved out huge positions when it was in its infancy.

A Tokyo attorney and bankruptcy trustee for the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox revealed that he had liquidated $400 million of bitcoin tokens on behalf of creditors, depressing the market.

The lawyer, nicknamed "Tokyo Whale", said he had sold the tokens between December and February, and did not rule out resuming the sell-off, with $1.9 billion still to be offloaded.

"With this kind of volume yet to surface, in my view, prices on bitcoin will remain depressed until this situation has been resolved," warned Hiscott.

383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of Bitcoin's value to be zero on: March 30, 2018, 03:53:19 PM
Bitcoin is already establish so I do not believe that it is going to go down to zero. It will soon hit the $50,000.00 marked by the end of this year and with big companies joining the cryptocurrency revolution like McDonalds, it will be a reality.

When the merit system came into operation, I did not really see kung gaano pala talaga kahirap makakuha ng merit. Ngayun I tried to scan the forum for possible ways to earn merit, but mostly are ineffective tips lang. Tapos I realized na ma stucked up na yata ako sa rank ko kasi base sa rules, kailangan ko pang 100 more merits para mag rank-up. At kahit gaano pa ka ganda ng quality ng post mo does not really assure you na may magbigay ng merit sa yo. I think I'll be a Full Member forever.

How about you mga kabayan, sa tingin nyu may pag-asa pa kaya tay mag-rank up?

But im not new sa forums kung familiar kayo sa Rank Gaming Client(RGC)? I was the head admin sa Philippines, its all about Dota Cheesy...  Mas masarap na din kung pati ang mahal natin na Dota ay gamitin na ang cyrptocurrency sa paglalaro and payment to become diamond member/any items...
385  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the government know bitcoin in your country? on: March 30, 2018, 01:14:08 PM
yes, bitcoin is very helpful to my economy, therefore, hopefully the system is made so well that it can prevent crime

Not just bitcoin but also the technology behind which is blockchain. It can help banking system, financial markets, healthcare, travel and many more. A very promising technology that will shape our future.

When I am about to start a topic, I make sure to check the forum if it is new or already in the forum.
However, my ideas are already in this forum, that is why I have no post or topic just some reply to a certain topic and help new users where to get ideas.
387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Describe, what is bitcoin? (your own opinion) on: March 30, 2018, 11:28:15 AM
For me bitcoin is the evolution of money and will change how we purchase products and services.
The main topic should be what is blockchain? Bitcoin is just the surface, if you would do some research about the blockchain you will be amazed of how it will transform our daily lives.
388  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Marketing on: March 29, 2018, 10:12:14 AM

Was searching for marketing strategy. Nice to bump in here and read your reply. Thank you.
I'll read these strategy.

My opinion on Marketing. You need 1st to build a strong team that would sustain your company. You need to build trust, system, enough knowledge and tie ups that would help your company to grow. If your company have that it will have a chance to become great. Why chance only? Cause the sustaining process is the hard part. You need to sustain your mission and vision why you make or come up with the idea to build your business and the rest will follow.

389  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 29, 2018, 05:09:21 AM
True, people have no clue that there is something called sMerit as well, and some think spending sMerit will take away their merits.
Seriously majority don't have any clue of this new system.

Agree on this.
As per rule: You get merit points when someone sends you some for one of your posts. Additionally, when someone sends you merit points, half of those points can be sent by you to other people.
Some people are looking in "If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point."
that is why they are not giving merit to other people cause they're waiting to make it a whole for themselves. Wink
390  Other / Politics & Society / 2018 The Year Central Banks will buy cryptocurrency on: March 28, 2018, 03:44:48 PM
I have read an article that this year will be the year Central Banks will begin buying Cryptocurrency.
But now so many negative publicity coming from central banks about cryptocurrency.
Would you think they are starting to dumping negative thoughts thru our media so that they will Hodl
more cryptocurrency? Politics? Banks? Your Thoughts on these issue.

In 2018, G7 central banks will witness bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies becoming the biggest international currency by market capitalization. This event, together with the global nature of cryptocurrencies with 24/7 trading access, will make it intuitive to own cryptocurrencies as they become a de-facto investment as part of a central banks investment tranche.

Cryptocurrencies will also fulfill a new requirement as digital gold.

Furthermore, foreign reserves are used to facilitate international trade. This means holding reserves in a trading partner's currency makes trading simpler. In 2018, cryptocurrencies like bitcoin will be utilized for international trade on a moderate basis because the high returns as an investment will encourage a 'hold' strategy for G7 countries.

Yes, there is no shortcuts, if you want, there are some ranks like VIP or Donator:

Donator:   Manually applied by administration after 10 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half green. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a Donator.

VIP:   Manually applied by administration after 50 BTC donation, and gets 5 gold coins under his name
of which the last is half purple. 5 coins are shown regardless of post count when user is a VIP.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Will future paper money disappear? on: March 28, 2018, 11:21:29 AM
With the development of cryptocurrency, more and more places accept bitcoin. In the future, will paper money disappear, and the money that people earn will be given to you in encrypted form, and the purchase will be paid in encrypted form?
Please give your opinion.

Fiat/banknotes currency will always be there in the future. Not all can access the internet just like the evolution from fiat to atm cards/credit people are saying it will replace fiat currency but still we have fiat. We have entered the 4th industrial revolution which involves the distribution of wealth or disruption of our existing banking system. We have a long way to tackle about these issue.

"The Fourth Industrial Revolution can be described as the advent of “cyber-physical systems” involving entirely new capabilities for people and machines. While these capabilities are reliant on the technologies and infrastructure of the Third Industrial Revolution, the Fourth Industrial Revolution represents entirely new ways in which technology becomes embedded within societies and even our human bodies. Examples include genome editing, new forms of machine intelligence, breakthrough materials and approaches to governance that rely on cryptographic methods such as the blockchain."

394  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Napanood Mo Ba Ang Scam Expose^ Ni Xian Gaza? on: March 28, 2018, 02:37:51 AM

395  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin transaction offline on: March 28, 2018, 02:24:53 AM

396  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bangko Sentral, SEC to educate public on cryptocurrencies on: March 28, 2018, 02:14:42 AM
Maganda ito para sa atin at sana ang ating Central Bank will start to Hodl more cryptocurrency starting this year just like
other central banks sa mundo. Im not saying na masyadong left behind na tayo when it comes to cryptocurrency im just saying
our central bank should embrace blockchain technology and start studying this year 2018.
Our central bank will hold? I doubt it, they even think na risky to that is why they kept saying it to the news, meydo left behind na din talaga tayo pero for sure some of our politicians are holding na din. Let us see in time if the governement will finally tell everyone na it is worth it to invest here in bitcoin.

What if ginagawa lang ng Central Bank na siraan ang Cryptocurrency? pero yun pala kaya nila yun ginagawa kasi gusto nila sila ang magHold ng maraming coins for study and development and of course para magbenefit ang mga politicians?

399  Economy / Trading Discussion / Investing Strategy: Buying the Dips on: March 27, 2018, 05:30:10 PM
Crypto Investing Strategy: “Buying the Dips”

A basic investment strategy can be phrased as “buy the dips.” This doesn’t mean go all in while an asset’s price is going down, it means average in as it goes down and/or buy after it settles.

Further, this strategy is much safer to use in a bull market or a stagnant market, where the general trend is up (as opposed to a bear market where the general trend is down).

With that said, to buy the dips one would do either one or more of the following:

1.Buy incrementally as the price goes down, creating an average position and aiming to buy more as the price decreases further.

2. Wait until the price settles, and perhaps even shows signs of recovering, and buy at that point.

3. Set buy orders at lower prices than the current price and let them fill. Setting buys just before historic support levels, large “buy walls,” and psychological levels is an especially good strategy (as prices tend to do at least a quick bounce off these levels).

One can “buy the big dips” (or buy when the price has gone well below the average), or we can “buy the little dips” (or buy when the price comes down from wherever it last was).

In all cases, the concept is the same, aiming to buy low and not high.

The logic being that this is a better tactic than waiting until prices are high (when many other people will be rushing to buy) and then exposing yourself to pressure to sell low.

i.e. buying the dips > FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out or minsan Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) buying at the top or panic selling the bottom.

The graphic above which shows little dips should explain everything you need to know. Here are some additional tips and tricks:

1. Understand why the dip happened. Did the dip occur due to some rumor that will likely have a temporary impact? Was the crypto overbought and now it needs some time to cool off? Did it just fail an all time high twice and now we are likely headed for a longer term correction? If you have this answer, then you can better gauge if you should be buying the dip. To this point, also keep an eye on the news. Bad news can cause a correction to deepen, good news could result in a quick turnaround (making it hard to get buy orders in if you are waiting for signs of recovery before buying).

2. Ideally you’ll want to use an proper exchange like GDAX to do this. Buying via a broker like Coinbase is an option, but great deals can be hard to manage without being able to trade quickly and set limit orders.

3. Be super careful with market orders when the price is flying all over the place. If the market is too chaotic some pretty gnarly slippage can occur. This is one reason to have limit orders already placed around supports in anticipation of the dip.

4. A conservative strategy is to wait until a price starts going back up to buy and then wait until it starts coming back down to sell. You’ll miss part of the run and you’ll miss your chance to sell at the highest possible price, but you’ll be taking safer bets a lot of the time if you wait for some confirmation of an uptrend or downtrend. This is generally true even though you could end up missing some buying opportunities this way.

5. You won’t always have time to buy once the price starts recovering. With the last point in mind, sometimes cryptos can rally by 10% or more in a matter of moments after a harsh dip. It can be next to impossible to buy into some rallies once the price starts recovering. It is from this perspective that it can be a solid strategy to mistime the bottom rather than waiting for the price to go back up. Sure, it is more conservative to wait for a trend to be confirmed, but this method can work much better after a very harsh dip down to a key support level you think the price will rebound off of quickly.

6. If you can figure it out, use MACD (the divergence and convergence of moving averages) to help you understand if we are in a bull or bear market, and to help you understand why the price just dipped or shot up. Other indicators are very useful, but MACD is particularly useful for the tactic being discussed because it gives you a quick visual of the current trend.
7. As noted above, a solid conservative strategy is to average into a dip, increasing your buys as the price goes lower. This can help you to build a long position or to make a quick buck when the price and volume pick back up.

8. Look at what the price has done over 1 hour, 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc. and set limit orders just under highs and lows. For assets that are somewhat stagnant, this can net you solid buying and selling opportunities in the short term. This strategy essentially mimics fibonacci retracement levels, but requires none of the technical knowledge.

9. Set stops as needed. We always want to make the right moves, but no one is right all the time. If you need to, be ready to take a loss with a stop. If you have profits, considering taking some profits. No one can time every bottom or top perfectly, so lock in some gains when you have them.

10 .Long downtrends in bear markets can last weeks or months in crypto. Meanwhile dips in a bull or stagnant market can last hours or days. The trick is understanding what market we are in, in a longterm bear market you’ll want to buy slowly, in a short dip you’ll want to act quicker. If you don’t know which type of market we are in, slowly creating a position and planning for the worst is far more conservative (assuming the asset is going to zero, and making sure you have enough cash on hand to buy all the way to zero, is about as conservative as it gets).

NOTE: The image below shows daily candles on a 6 month BTC chart. When the short term 12 day exponential moving average crossed under the longer term 26 day in January 2018, it pretty clearly marked a longer term bear market (a true correction, not just “a dip”). You can see that buying the dip in this time was not ideal (not the worst move perhaps long term, just not ideal). That is the only sort of market in which you want to avoid “buying the little dips” and instead want to “buy when the price starts recovering” (as a long term investor, a short term investor can play any market if they are nimble enough).

By watching the MACD on Bitcoin, you can get a good overview of the trajectory of the market

TIP:  In cases where the price of a coin (or another asset) is plunging slowly towards its doom, buying the bottom of a dip can be hard if not impossible to pull off. In cases like this, you more-so end up dollar cost averaging down the side of the mountain. Watching any asset lose value is stressful, but there is a lot of precedent for this paying off in cryptocurrency when we are talking about buying the dips on top coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple. No plan is foolproof, but the logic here is this: It is better to mistime buys at the bottom than to mistime buys at the top. Thus, buy the dips…
