Bitmine.ch is  "able to source from third parties a lot of Avalon ICs that is big enough to assemble all of our Batch #1 units."

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=215431.340

I wish Terrahash could do the same.

I also wish Terrahash was able to get funded by a "Hong-Kong Based Investment Fund" for 500,000 - 1,000,000 USD.

I'm sure if they were able to get such funding they would be able to "Source from third parties a lot of Avalon ICs".

Know any good investment funds?

Why would they want to use a investment fund when they can get pre-orders?

Think about it from their side they get cash and give up zero percent of company.  If it the company succeeds they still own 100 percent of it and owe no loans.

If it fails they pack up accept their salary they have been getting over the past months and move on.  I would love to know what their salary is they are paying them self's.  Think about they didn't design, build, or buy many things yet.  There is no way they are putting in 40 hour weeks.  But i am willing to bet they get a nice salary.

I think you missed the point,

But I'm kind and will spell it out for you.

Bitoy wanted Terrahash to follow in the footsteps of someone who received up to a million dollars to play around with AND took pre-orders.

more apples to oranges.

Also most owners of start ups don't even pay themselves until they see a steady cash flow. Seems you are just speculating again just to fuel the fire.

Let me rephrase.
Terrahash was willing to pay a premium to get more chips but it also didn't arrive.   But lucky Bitmine was able to source it. (Maybe most chips landed in china. premium is around 30% (not 3 times ) but can't verify it ).

Am I correct that in order to take advantage of these promotion, we are to purchase through your website units at request cost?  Determining where I want to order my 5-10 units.  If there is a possibility of thses promotions in the future, it would be benefical to know.  Grin
This is a manufacturer's coupon for previous customers who bought at .99 - 1.99 prices

.99 gets 1 coupon. For those who bought at 1.99 (gb 1 to 6) is it 2 coupons for each  Smiley

I know you are kidding, but dreams are nice.  Remember the diff was under 30 mill even under 20 mill when you paid top dollar.

You are correct, difficulty is lower when the price was 1.99 per BE.  but lets say a person bought 1.99 BE in June (where difficulty is 20 mil,) he earns .25 btc by July. Then on july the price is dropped to .99. He "lost" 0.75 btc.

But still, thanks to AM for giving 0.1 coupon.

As far as we know, there is no offer from Avalon for trade-in or refund for chips. Those are only for batch 3 machines. Anyways, some of the customers who wanted to do assembly with us with their chip orders, have informed us that their chips are on the way from Avalon. So, ours shouldn't be that far behind.

In addition to Bitfury we are talking with another very promising Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer. We will update once we have a deal.

I wonder where those chips comes from because I don't think all the major chips group buy here has any shipments news so far after zefir batch 1

Good question. No answer. Doesnt it seem convinient?

Bigtimecoin got a tracking number from his chip order dated April 17.

story so far - 8/19

chips have arrived via other routes as previously announced, we are shipping them out at the rate of 40-50k on a daily basis at the moment, in addition to the ~150k or so that went out, another 40k was shipped today. There is multiple channel which the chips are arriving from various packaging facility to minimize downtime. Please bare this in mind: while we had backup/multiple packaging companies and various delivery routes, things still will go wrong. There is also testing that must be done, then they can split, packed and sent to the EZP coupled with their CN-22 and be on their way. We will provide more update as they come. In addition, the trade-in and refunds are being processed.

at the moment of writing, another 130k chips have gone out, and will proceed to ship more as we get them. ( and no, they are not samples.)

Are any of the  chips sent out ordered from the group buys of this forum? (Zefir, Sebastian, steamboat, terrahash, etc.).
I would venture to say they are since he posted it in this thread/forum,,,,and he bothered to mention samples and as you know a few group buyers and terrahash recieved samples this week...? but maybe these 130k are destiined to germany or japan??? lol

Lets just hope some of it reaches the group buys.  Yifu, please post order date of the last chip shipment ( Ex all chip orders before April 16 shipped.   This will help calm  the storm Smiley
389  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 19, 2013, 04:49:52 AM
Based on the blockchain below and assuming  all orders before April 16 were shipped (Zefir's batch 1).

The 200k ( in customs ) plus the 130k this week  should cover April 17 to April 28 orders.

Doing a little research regarding the supposed 130k chips being shipped. Best i can tell from what i have found and read thus far, it appears there is a chance Terrahash could receive both of their first batches ordered on may 10th and 16th (20,000 chips?) in this shipment according to yifu's post. (which btw, he did log in today so he is still alive lol)

Terrahash quote: we ordered on May 10 and 16. In that case, our batch 2 orders will start shipping at most 2 weeks after the batch 1.

Ahead of TH is:
zephir with (6) April orders = 60,000
steamboat a may 1st and may11th orders = 20,000
SebastianJu a may 11th order = 10,000
EDIT UPDATE: ragingazn628' april 27th order =10,000
__________
Total 100,000
Balance 30,000?

that accounts for 100,000 unreceived chips ordered in group buys,,at least from the source below. Im sure there may be others. Feel free to update this and double check Smiley Just killing time on a sunday afternoon....

There's also likely a lot of unpublished purchases prior to Terrahash's.

I believe that is Avalons Address right?

Count the purchases before May 16th.....

Just did an estimation over at http://www.coinish.com/calc/#. Assuming an 11.7% reduction in profitability each week, I won't make $300 over the course of a year with 18 GH/s. Had we got these when we were supposed to I would have broke even around 30 days.

At some point, not sure when, the difficulty rise will drop-off drastically. This probably won't be for another year or two - once the mining companies start maximizing the ASIC performance.

If bitcoin price rises you can roi in Us$.  If you bought using bitcoins, you probably won't roi in bitcoins.
392  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 16, 2013, 11:47:44 PM
We just received 60 sample chips from Avalon. Apparently from the 20,000 chips order we placed on June 20th. There was no status updated on the order page, and we never received a tracking number. As knightlife pointed, some other people who placed order around the same time have received chips in the last couple days in the same fashion.

Suggestion,  create k16 boards from the sample chips and raffle it your customers ( got the idea from Sebastian's group Smiley

The op below ordered on july 10 and his sample chips is shipped today.  Looks like avalon is moving faster.

394  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [POLL/VOTE] What should Avalon do with our past due orders? on: August 11, 2013, 04:08:29 PM
Bitsyncom should give their customers coupons for late deliveries.

Coupon (in bitcoins) must be based on bitcoins lost from the time they promised delivery to the actual delivery date.

Coupons can be used for future purchases ie avalon v 2.

The good news is chips will start shipping end of next week. Lets hope  terrahash's order is in that batch.

The bad news is they will ship avalon version 2 by October.   By the time we get our orders, maybe on  2nd week of sept.,  our rigs will be obsolete in one month.

Maybe good news, Avalon batch 3 have started shipping.  The chips could be next   Smiley
398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 29, 2013, 04:42:38 PM
I imagine they are delaying shipment to give B#2 and #3 a chance to ROI. Total guess though...

Good guess.  As of today, only 1 (zefir batch 1) group buy has received the chips.

Looks like the 2nd week of August terrahash delivery won't push through.

399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: July 26, 2013, 10:42:42 AM
Zeffir ordered 2 batches on April 18.  So far only 1 batch was delivered. Either avalon doesn't have enough chips or they are delaying shipment.

Great news. terrahash's 1st batch chips should arrive in 2 weeks. (i guess avalon is shipping based on the 94 days from order date).
