381  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 07, 2014, 08:49:08 PM
I'm still here but I've got nothing to add since even I don't have hardware.

Join the club.

With no hardware nor communication from HF this thread is turning into an echo chamber filled with disgruntled customers (me included)

Would be great to get an update from the few folks with engineering samples (LukeJr & IceDrill) as to how the hardware performs.

As mentioned before, HF appears to be playing the silent game for now. (likely until the refund deadline has expired)

Just me, or does that thing look pretty unstable?

Think I'm going to rent some warehouse space off a friend and build a mini data centre for my Neptunes. Hopefully they'll be the same size as the Jupiters so I can build some cabinets on those dimensions.

Has Luke got his Babyjet hashing at over 30GHs yet?

As much as i wish this was true, It wouldn't end up killing BFL. They occupy a hell of a lot of space in terms of marketing, appealing on the broadest of terms. I'd hazard a guess that they're target audience these days is their target audience has always been noobs who don't know any better.

FTFY.

 Grin Thanks, haha.

While I'm no fan of hashfast, they're supposedly shipping right now. "supposedly".

Of course it could've been 1 single machine to some address somewhere.

Started on NYE didn't they? Still not seen anyone post a picture of one up and running. Or have they shipped more?

Hi guys,

I dont post much in this thread if ever. I do have 1 jupiter and thought I had a second procured but the seller has been non responsive (another story I wont go into here.)..

I have read speculation in this thread about lower priced Jupiters but doesnt that hurt the Neptune market?

My questions for you guys are. What do you think KNC will do with the price of a Jupiter if they were to throw another batch out there?

Do you think they would kill the antminer, BFL products with a painfully priced (to bitmain, BFL)
Jupiter?

Or

Do you think they are waiting for the price of BTC to break 900 again and then release painfully priced (to us) Jupiters?

The reason I bring this up is what I saw with Bitfury gear (doubling the price of H-cards) and antminers selling at above 4000 usd equivilent when BTC was sky high.

Look forward to your responses.

Best Regards,

I stated on this thread previously ..that with BFL selling 'vaporware" march at best monarch 600gh cards for 2.5k now ..imho if I was KNC I'd kill the competition and dump whatever is prudent Jupiter units "at cost" or dang near close to it say 1.5K or some such.....just to drive BFL into dust and keep market share for KNC. byt slapping the comptetion down for being late to the party...a good use of "old stock on hand Jupiters in my book" ..then again I always wanted to be "Dr. Evil"...but no real loss to them...slap the other asic companies down... keep market share

but then again I know zip..just saying

Searing

This morning i got up early to enjoy with my exacopter, i had everything set but... the weather. So i had some free time while the US were sleeping.

Wiki online:
http://hashfast.org/

Since that i expect HF to do whatever they can to shut that thing down (and go against me personally), the website will only be allowed to host content that is not speculation, accusations deprived of every base, and in any other case useless content that will only end up with providing them a case against me.

I will try to do a bio page for John Skrodenis soon.  Purely factual, and completely referenced.

Nice work guys!    Smiley

Good domain, nice job. What about putting wikimedia on it so that the collaboration could be shared? (edit, i'm gonna do that myself)

Fill your boots my man, I am not a victim in this at all, but can see that this is a terrible situation for everyone involved and remembered that i had the domain, I bought it when they were talking about the possibility of doing a reseller scheme.

PM me and I'll give you access so you can do what you like with the domain.

I have a very good Hashfast domain, (Hashfast.co.uk)

If anyone on here wants to use it to publicise their problems, give me a shout.

No tracking, no more time. Maybe they are doing a secret launch, and you will all get packages tomorrow delivered by black helicopter!

....or Amazon drone.

They will ship from stock and be priced competitively I'm sure once HashFast officially launches to their first customers.  No point in shipping until HashFast seems to finally be the real deal.  People there are still waiting on their shit.  Amazing.

Is anyone here mining alts?  How does a person set up their own private pool?  The alts seem so scammy but I'm still curious about them.

Looks like HF is closer than ever now and they appear to have a much faster machine than advertised according to the Eligius address they're using. I still feel bad for those who ordered from batch 1 since it would take 1532Gh/s on Jan 1st to equal the 400gh/s they were promised on October 20th. Regardless, they'll likely start shipping on Monday, which may prompt KnC to take action and sell us more stuff.

Looks like it could be an issue with Eligius

Folks seem to be assuming that a Neptune will need to be plugged into a single power outlet.

Depending on the setup, it may be possible to use 2 to 3 1200 to 1500 Watt power supplies plugged into outlets on different breakers to power 1 Neptune...

It's standard to have a couple of 240V, 32A circuits in UK houses.  So that's over 7kW per circuit.  The master fuse on the grid side of my meter is 110A but I'm not sure if that's at 240V or part of a drop down transformer.

I have 3x 30A circuits - one just for the cooker, which I can hack into if needed and 2x for all the wall power sockets in every room. That is 14400W for all power sockets without any safety margins.
But I would never consider running more than 1 Neptune at home. I will most probably host them.
Or rent a flat as it might be cheaper  Grin

Talking of electricity, how much are your miners costing a month? I am dreading getting my first electricity bill.

3.7TH/s @ £350 a month.

Cheers, that is not too bad!! Who are you with?

The knc developers and myself differ in how we like to represent hashrate. I prefer to not include hardware errors since they're not really meaningful hashes. Remember you don't get paid for hardware errors and you'll have to deduct them to figure out if your device's hashrate is higher or lower (or simply compare WU instead).

Somewhere I saw a reference for all the codes on the CGMiner screen.

Would you be kind enough to point us to a reference?

but until the end of 2014 years, diff will be about 676 trilion.

Today diff 1.2 billion for next 6 monthy +75000% , it is diff 900 billion,
and for following 6 month in 2014 year,
again +75000%, 900 billion + 75000% = diff 675900 billion or 675.9 trilion !!!

This is only for the following 12 months !
impressive I give up! you convinced me!

All companies will soon give up, for about 4-5 months, and mining is finished, BTC go to bottom.

I give up then. Do you want to buy my Jupiters for a very low price?

Maybe you should just re engineer them to mine dogecoin!

for those of you that have these, how noisy are they? and how much heat do the put out? my room while i am deployed is only 10x10, lol and the air conditionir is all ready loud enough

My 5 are in my basement, they aren't hot to touch, but if you leave the basement doors open and a little fan on they soon warm the downstairs of my house.

2 of my chips run at 70-75 degrees though, so that might be something to do with it.

In other news, on successful delivery of my replacement board, they'd also chucked in a few goodies for me. Love these guys! I'm so glad I bet on the right horse.
