381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any Alt coins that are profitable to gpu mine? on: September 21, 2014, 02:24:31 AM
Hi,

I have a small regular home mining setup and I'm looking to mine
profitably or at least break even.

I have 3 x 7970 and 3 x 7950 and they use 1150w X11 or upto
2000w with scrypt-n

I've mined vertcoin, darkcoin, and monero through out the year but it's
rarely been a profitable venture to mine these coins.

Any idea or suggestions? I'm considering pulling the plug.

Thanks.

Sell the GPU and buy those alt-coin. You will get back much more then if you mine them..
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any cpu only coins worth mining? on: September 21, 2014, 02:22:31 AM
Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any cpu coins worth mining at the moment? Not bothered if they're worth anything now but possible future gems.

I've got a couple of half decent quad core systems at home just wondered if its worth using them to mine anything?

I've recently sold my S1's and gpu's because of low returns and I'm missing the mining buzz Cry.

No cpu coin worth mining Smiley. Might as well sell it too..

More delays, but litecoin difficulty went up alot, so are they testing your ASIC?

386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The MOST ASIC Resistant Algo? on: September 21, 2014, 02:15:56 AM
Apparently Neoscrypt will be for GPUs and have long-term ASIC resistance, but the GPU mining software isn't done so it's not released yet. Other than that, I couldn't say for sure.

I dont get it, why is neoscrypt more ASIC resistance then other algo? what about x11 and so on..
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] BoostPool.com - Optimized AMD GPU multipool - Groestlcoin payouts on: September 21, 2014, 02:13:55 AM
Hi!

I just published boost-sgminer 1.5.

If everything is working for you with grs-sgminer 1.4, then you don't need to upgrade!

The changes are quite simple - mostly rebranding and removing some rubbish.
Also "sm" kernel is now default.

My R9 290 gives 1.080 MHS @ 1060 frequency (used to be 1.066 with "sm" kernel, so a tiny improvement).

If you want to upgrade, please make sure you backup your existing grs-sgminer1.4 in case things go wrong.

If you have problems - please post here or send personal message.

PS: .bin files are interchangeable with grs-sgminer 1.4

Thanks
srcxxx

The new kernal for 1.4 seems to increase power usage by a lot. Does this 1.5 have the same effect too?

Let the hashing begin.   Grin

Nah, The profit is really low and when people invest into it the difficulty rise and thus no body wins..

392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any good scrypt cloud mining sites? on: September 07, 2014, 07:48:08 AM
Right now the best place is gaw miners hashlets IMO and the pricing is reasonable with an potential ROI of about 70 days. Use the links in my signature if you want discounts on their products which will make the ROI a bit quicker.

But as difficulty rise, It would take way more then 70 days to ROI..
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt Profitability 2014 + on: September 07, 2014, 07:47:35 AM
Even scrypt asic now is hardly profitable, all scrypt coin price is dropping from the massive dumping..

No faucets will make you rich but you can have some fun with trading dust on the exchanges.
Some time this fun give you big rewards as I have and bought some RDD on 4 and 6 Satoshis rate and as this RDD reach 35 I sell these and have some good amount

What is RDD?
