What do you guys think about changing the ticker from LGC to LOGIC.
I think branding wise it will grab more attention.

"LOGIC" for ticker symbol makes it clear. LGC hasn't had much success and people question it.

Your thoughts?

Going with a 5 characters is hugely innovative. LGC will become the second coin to do so.. lol

So how are you liking the new "we wanna know what you're holding" wallet treating you ?

Hippie Tech - I don't know your reasoning... but you do bring up a valid point. I do agree that if there are vulnerabilities in the multi wallet, the users should be made aware of them; use at your own risk.

It's no less secure than multibit or multidoge.

https://multibit.org/
http://multidoge.org/

Have a look for these so called warnings hippietech thinks are of the highest importance. Here's a quote from multibits website

Quote
MultiBit is a secure, lightweight, international Bitcoin wallet for Windows, MacOS and Linux

MultiBit makes performing Bitcoin transactions quick and simple
MultiBit comes in a variety of languages because Bitcoin is without borders
MultiBit is free to download and is open source (MIT license)
MultiBit is easy to install

Ah! Thanks for that.

Ok, after catching up on this whole thread..
Yes, the OP was based on a misunderstanding of MAX_MONEY, and the Supercoin dev certainly should've been contacted before going public with this..
That said, seriously guys?  6 BTC..  20 BTC?!  On some random cryptopasta?   First rule of investing, especially in cryptos:  Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.  Throwing thousands of dollars into a coin so new that a mistaken accusation can trigger a 50+% dump in price is nobody's fault but your own.  If you threw thousands of dollars into a pink sheet stock, you could blame anyone you'd like when everyone else dumps it before you do, but in the end, your money wasn't taken from you - you chose to put it in an extremely risky investment.  20 BTC on an altcoin...   Unreal.

And how do you think they made those BTC? That's the game - buy low and dump after the pump. If it were the other way around and they made a killing, of course they'd be no complaints. Actually, there were some who made out well at the expense of others. Oh well - you win some, you lose some... but yes, you're so right - can't blame anybody but yourself.

Hey guys!

Anyone has compile de logicoind on ubuntu??

I'm not able to do it! Getting Error: you must set a rpcpassword ... in logicoin.conf

I already got logicoin.conf but doesnt look to work!

Keep the good worK!

Yes, of course Smiley

your logicoin.conf file is in a hidden folder. Do ctrl h to show all your hidden folders. it's under /home/youruser

open the file then add your username and password. Tah dah!   also - the file have to set it in is in your .logicoin directory... same one where your wallet is stored.

What should be the right fork? I'm trying to check against other pools, but they all seem to be on different blocks.

p2pool is on the correct fork. i see that you've already made it back.  Grin

guys, more public p2pool nodes are still needed.

we definitely need public nodes in asia, australia, us east coast and canada.

get the benefits of solo mining and pool mining by running your own logicoin p2pool node on windows. setup takes just a few minutes.

I'm just getting started with bitcoins after someone at my site introduced me to them. I tried mining but my computer is to weak.So I started investing I've made aprox. .0006 BTC but I've only been doing it for a week or two. So what I'm asking is do y'all have any advice for me.

Forget about bitcoin mining with your CPU and GPU. It is too late now.
You may try to mine scrypt coins with GPU and CPU-coins with CPU, but don't expect to get rich from it.

Concur.

Also look into x11/13 coins. Less heat/power consumption and you get more hashing power. Just be careful which coin you choose; there are lots of scamcoins!

I'm solo mining LGC now... great example of a coin that has the potential to secure a sizable chunk of the coin market:

Holy shit, indeed!

Just a short story for you guys. But first a quick message: Content is not suitable for all audiences. Pick the group you fall in below. Then go from there.

The Id-Riddens & The Closed Minded:
This is for entertainment informational purposes; not intended for otiose discourse.

The Clueless & The Curious
This isn’t new or impossible. Clueless, become Curious - the super information highway awaits…. ‘softly’ censored (as “They” call it), but the basics are easy to find.

The Suspecters & Conspiracists
Another case to add to the count. The lack of actual detail is deliberate for reasons you already know.

The Enlightened
This mind-blowing rabbit hole is so deep - I see why the majority actually embraces the shit meant to keep them in the dark.

** The Story **

The idea of crypto currency fascinated me the very first time I heard about it; consumed me. My Id finally dominated and for far too long. It was actually my most recent experiences I came to realize how Closed and one tracked Minded I was becoming. My lack of technical know how or motivation to seek more info played only a small role in the scheme of things. Credit to the Deceivers for their contributions, and to the Deniers, the pawns being used to facilitate mass manipulation. But being Curious by nature I learned a lot the past few days:

Miners never had - and will never have – control of crypto currency.

Up until this week I was completely Clueless - just like most. Countless tech support calls and even after having their equipment replaced, my mining rig could only maintain an active internet connection for a couple of hours at a time. And as of yesterday, all external traffic of a particular kind ceased. Nothing about my systems’ configuration changed, hell, testing out CPU mining from MAC was a futile mission.

Naturally I became Suspect because this rig has very little run time, it could still receive incoming traffic, and it regained outside connectivity once mining activities stopped. How strange is that? I’m no techie but my Curious self took control; so much in fact, that I found myself to the point of obsession. My bandwidth utilization isn’t excessive… I stopped downloading torrents years ago. It’s not firewall settings…

Well, evidently after a quick sniff of my miner’s packets, my ISP felt it was their duty to filter and block this shapely data from traversing their network. Now I’m in complete Conspiracist mode! You really expect me to believe that that fucking pervert is acting in my digital security’s best interest… after I’m forced to use their modem/router combo if I want high speed, and not to mention, this occurring a few weeks after Dish announces their adoption of bitcoins? Bullshit! What better way to acclimate to the populace? The jig is up – we know it’s those who control the world’s communication infrastructure are actually “They!” I guess after successful testing of the system in the wild for a few years, it’s about time to put the control where it should be, huh. Well, I’ll be damned if I’ll spend some 100% premined CableCoin.

And that’s just the start of the takeover.

Ok… I’m calm now, but I was heated the last few days. Hopefully this attempt to entertain Enlightened you somewhat; experiencing it certainly has for me. I’m not even pissed about it any more. My iPad’s LTE hotspot allowed my rig to put a few coins in my wallet the past few hours so I’m good... At least until my celluar provider gets a whiff. Assholes.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cognicoin [LULZ] 1st Proof-of-Thought | Launched! | No Premine / IPO on: June 12, 2014, 11:53:58 PM
So I believe this thread is just for fun and nothing more?

lol, people still asking for the ipo. Unfortunately in this day and age, Proof of Thought can't obtain the hashrate to secure the blockchain, just not enough hash in existence. Next coin should be PoI (proof of ignorance) hashrate will soar, exceeding even Bitcoin. Too bad your genius is wasted on such simple minds.

Yes that's a fundamental problem with the thoughtminer.. although it allows users running legacy OSs to mine - their results will be no where near someone running the latest OS. Proof-Of-Ignorance is a great concept! We could deoptimize thoughtminer for the majority who are running the legacy OS.. Brilliant!

Ok... So I admit - it is brilliant, but think about what you're considering here!!!  This is what's wrong with the world as it is... everybody wants to jump on the chain they think will bring them the most riches. Yet, all they have to do is put more of their COGNI into circulation!

Oh well... Guess there's so few of us left that we're becoming more obsolete than I thought.

Keep up the good work devs!!!!
