I think its name is its biggest enemy. While others say its an asset.

It's hard to say. Which ever coin pays the most shills behind the scenes.

If titled 'vote against the coins you that see as the biggest threat to your own investments', results would probably be similar.
quack shills are always trying to spin bad news into good news.

To all the Quark haters. I did not really support Quark until after seeing the amount of interest it brought on this poll. Luckily I was able to put my differences aside and invest into it. Now that I am up 4x what I put into it I am not disappointed. After all isn't the success of any of these coins directly correlated to the attention it brings from the community?
So you are saying that an easily manipulated poll can persuade your opinion? lol Let me guess. "baAAAAaaAaAaaAAaaa" is your life moto too? Could this poll be manipulated by someone with multiple accounts? Definitely! Do I think they created 151 accounts to do so? Absolutely not. Just look at the QRK volume being traded right now on all exchanges. It is second only to BTC & LTC in volume of BTC traded. So if 1 person did manipulate this poll they are also dumping thousands of BTC into QRK which I highly doubt. The truth is that with over 1000 votes now this is a pretty good approximation of where community support is heading in relation to certain alt coins. I also have heavily invested in WDC, LTC, SBC, DGC, SXC and of course I have some BTC. I refuse to support Megacoin. But I am not putting putting all my "Eggs" in one basket. Why can't there be multiple successful crypto currencies? This is not a winner take all game. Doesn't Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express all do the same thing? Right now BTC is becoming more & more centralized as ASIC mining power is being consolidated into the hands of fewer and fewer people. This goes against why BTC was originally founded. We are now seeing the emergence of specialized ASIC Mining companies. This is not good for the future of BTC. Also the block chain is getting bloated, there are some serious issues arising with transaction times. I believe BTC will one day be surpasses-ed by an alt coin as it's own initial success will bring its demise. Just as Napster paved the way for others to follow, so will BTC. Long story short, this poll has given me a better indication of what to invest in than any other resource out there. So far it has payed off handsomely! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) So you are saying that 10 people couldnt make 15 accounts a piece to manipulate the poll results? And we think quack is more popular then litecoin? You're right. I'm sorry for doubting the almight quack. They would never do anything shady like pay people to donate to bill still. Or did we forget that thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=359521.0You really think the community is heading towards coins like quark? Instamined trash? Seriously? Have you not been reading the same threads I have? Most of the community that isnt quark openly says quark is a scam. I'm not saying multiple cryptos cant be successful. No where in my post did I say anything like that. I'm saying quack is manipulated trash branded to idiots. FFS They have a "how to answer the premine question" post everywhere. When you have to carefully answer a question like that. You are a scam. Simple as that. Read here: http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/#jump-qrk-btc9073926 Qrk were traded yesterday. That's roughly 3% of all QRK in one day on 3 lesser known exchanges. 2407 BTC traded for QRK, more than any other alt except for LTC. There was roughly 200,000 BTC traded yesterday on all exchanges. That's about 1% of all BTC in circulation. BTC was "premined" and so was LTC. That's how the system works. Quark stands a much better chance of actually being used as a transactional currency than does BTC. Point should be made here that I also heavily support Digitalcoin for this reason. It had a much fairer launch. Yes Quark has some issues. I myself am skeptical about what will happen in January when 99% have been mined. A steady stream of new coin keeps miners interested and keeps the network strong. Most early miners who had millions of Quark have sold off. As was exhibited by the jealously of the former quark miner that directed quarkcoin.org to the Megacoin site. For what its worth, my single vote on this poll went to World coin as that is where I am the most heavily invested. Are you another one of those early Quark miners that sold out early and is now pissed so yourself and is trying to take down the coin? Either way #'s don't lie. Buy in while its still cheap. Numbers lie the most. Especially when controlled by people who only have their own interest in mind.

iXcoin... been around for over 2.5 years... 2 peta hash rate...
can't get any more solid than this.
its merge mined. no wonder it has 2 peta hash rate. Its an addon coin that people get extra when mining bitcoin!

buy ltc then move into the others later.

Also please provide a reason for your vote.
I chose Quark because it received the most votes on the other poll which to me indicates there is much interest in the community for it right now.
You chose QRK because you are a sock puppet. Let's be honest.

The one thing Quark has going for it is that the community seems to really be rallying behind it. Hopefully that is sustainable.
One thing I was wondering about is how the math works for the 247million mined coins + 1% inflation. The max coins in the code is set to 500,000,000. Is the inflation based on the halving of the reward and the other parameters, so that it just works out that way? How was the max coins of 500M determined?
...as skeptical as I am, I do have some QRK because who knows
edit:By community I mean the quark community, not the community at large...they seem to really have a lot of "true believers" - a little concerning on the flip side because it also seems like a fair number of non-technical/non-savvy investors plopped a bunch of money into it.
That is a pretty easy illusion to manufacture. All it takes is multiple sockpuppet accounts. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

What quack coin has the most of is sock puppets. Digtalindustry is really starting to show his true colors. Not the best PR when you start becoming an arrogant scammer. You are really starting to believe you own sock puppet post that QRK is better then bitcoin LOL.

This thread should be called. "Which Alt Coin has the most forum accounts" lol

Quark is as well distributed (if not more) as Bitcoin. Also, unlike BitCoin, Quark was not premined.
Quark benefits over Bitcoin:
1) More secure 2) Faster transactions 3) Small inflation coded in (this is huge plus and adds to stability of the currency) 4) ASIC farms were not able to steal all Quarks (it was mined by people not corporations) 5) It is just starting to take off and being noticed as one of the "big players" (BitCoin and LiteCoin people really hate this)
1) bullshit 2) ok lol 3) small inflation? wtf there is 245 million coins in the first 6 months.. 4) no only a few people raped it with botnets 5) its being promoted by paid shills and sock puppets. Check the usernames of the pepple on your free forums.

Cryptsy supports 100 markets while MCXNOW couldnt support 6 with out closing its doors and running off with all of the $$ he made from those made up FEEs. Fair comparison!
Except he never ran off? How do you know? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You dont even know who she is.

Quark is designed in the way that most of coins are mined in a short period of time. In this way, the value of this coin is going to stabilize very soon. Also, the 0.5% inflation helps the circulation (instead of hoarding) of this coin. Quark might become the first mature cryptocoin on the market. These properties make Quark the No.1 choice for merchant use.
Bitcoin and other coins with a long mining span does not has this advantage. Obviously no one is willing to spend Bitcoin since it is expected that Bitcoin's price is going to rise. Everybody wants to hold. So Bitcoin itself is more like an asset rather than a currency. This is a nice endoctrinated way of saying alot of bullshit. Spin it how you want, this is an instamined coin in an attempt to sell to people at the high. 0.5% yearly is no where near enough to "promote circulation". Its enough to fool noobs into thinking that is how it always was. This Shit is a scamcoin by hazards definition and branded in a real nice box. Thats about it. Again, i'll say, keep pumping it. I made alot of money from QRK ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Man, by your definition BTC would be the worst scamcoin of all. I have a ROI on Bitcoin of nearly %10000 and it has a distribution similar to the US Dollar. ^.^ Ohrlly Considering I didnt say anything about ROI. Read it slower. BTC didnt produce its entire coin supply in 6 months.

The question is why people buy them since it is mined already for the most part or why people buy them anyway?
The question isnt why people are buying. People buy because max keiser is tweeting it. The question then becomes, why would you mine it and secure the network? There is no incentive to do so since all the incentive is gone into the pockets of those who mined it for the first 6 months.
