382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Morgan Stanley says the true price of bitcoin might be zero ? on: December 24, 2017, 05:59:25 PM
They are just trying to divert others' focus out of Bitcoins while bagging in Bitcoins aside by taking advantage of these "corrections" which make it a low-value asset for some time. Believing them and putting yourself aside would be stupid and really unacceptable because they are losing on Bitcoins when it goes up. You know you have to pay fiat (which you send through banking system only) to buy Bitcoins, right? Even if just 10% of people start investing in BTC at global level, banks will go bankrupt.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you would win a Jackpot what would you do with the money? on: December 24, 2017, 02:52:15 PM
Seeing bitcoin since 2013 and I concluded every single time that there's nothing better than bitcoin itself whether it's seen as money or investment. So I would go with the 6th option and hold Bitcoins for years and would only sell a maximum of 1 bitcoin a year, that too if I feel that the expenses have gone up. Remember one thing, if you ever win a lottery and are interested in holding your coins, better hide everything from your family and friends, especially your wife.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction cost possible fix on: December 24, 2017, 02:16:12 PM
Your wallet address is (probably) your identity to prove that it's you (in case it's needed to sign a message - take an example of staking addresses here). Would you be willing to sell your identity? It'll completely change the way the protocol is implemented to work the way out. Trading (as in here, giving) your address' private key to someone will surely save the fees, but is prone to vulnerable issues like getting your wallet(s) hacked in future in case you ever had any of those addresses in a "wallet".
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are The Banks Scared of Bitcoin? on: December 24, 2017, 10:54:39 AM
What do you think would be the impact of the anti Bitcoin sentiment of the bank knowing they wield a lot of influence with the governments?

When even governments, who are considered as the biggest authority of a country, can't stop usage of bitcoins, how will banks be able to influence people either to stop mining or to completely stop using it?

Quote
Is Bitcoin really an identifiable threat to banking?

Why not? Bitcoin has developed a complete new way of banking, a modern way which is much more powerful and way more secure than traditional banking systems. They're totally scared of it.

Quote
What measures must traditional banking adopt so as not to miss out if Bitcoin would dominate the future?

Simple, start accepting bitcoins itself.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin business success on: December 24, 2017, 09:08:55 AM
I;m interested, since bitcoin isn't that much widespread yet, how are businesses (that are directed towards bitcoin only) doing? Is it paying off or is there some serious profit involved?

The time you made this thread, Bitcoin was playing between $1-2k which was already over double from its stable point of $750 (where it started to rally from). After that, it gained too much media attraction and it caught the eyes of the whole world and then it started to gain acceptances and legalizations one by one which took the price almost 20 times up in a year. Now what do you think about those who accepted it from its beginning, or even since this year's start?
387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simulator for cryptocurrency trading ??? on: December 24, 2017, 08:24:46 AM
I tried LiteForex and they also allow demo trading accounts with the leverage you want, choose the least if you're interested in trading cryptocurrencies only. They don't offer many cryptocurrencies to be traded there but for the purpose of practice, you can use them as they also provide good articles to understand the basic patterns of market.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Easy x5 x10 on: December 23, 2017, 07:35:56 PM
Viberate looks very strong as their team and teamwork have always delivered their promises whether it's related to their roadmap or getting some real big names being added to the project daily and it is growing very fast. I think that $5 is really possible for VIB once that 2 times Grammy Award winner artist tweets about them getting involved with VIB. You need to #hodl once you get it as it's still very cheap.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will the 28th Hard Fork affect the price of BTC & Altcoins on: December 23, 2017, 07:11:48 PM
Scheduled Bitcoin SegWit2X Hard Fork comes on December 28, How will it affect bitcoin? Whether BTC price will go up or down? Today is 23rd, So,When will the market feel the heat of hardfork ? How will it affect Altcoins?

We are not even so bothered about the fork as it's like laughing the hell out on a joke of the day as according to me, forks are nothing more than a new chocolate that's shown as a delight (free money on an x:x ratio) and given to everyone who keeps the old chocolate (Bitcoins) in the mentioned place (exchanges). It's Christmas time and I guess we are more into enjoying those delights than taking too much of it. Correction already happened, and if this one's going to heat up the markets, then I think another one is following. Price should go up considering the majority in crypto still believes in the old Bitcoin (the current one).
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Optimistic for 2018? on: December 22, 2017, 04:18:19 PM
Currently, we saw a 50% decline which could not be said less than a crash - those thinking that this is a correction are proved wrong now because retracement has deepened down very hard over Bitcoins, sellers taking the opportunity to just make the ending worst for everyone and they are somewhat successful in doing so. Albeit, I see it more as an opportunity to buy back at these low rates and take the advantage to make our new year better when it will revive back very strongly, and we all know that Bitcoin really proves that it's one of the best "currencies" of all time. Yes, I am completely optimistic about 2018 and feel that Bitcoins will turn back to its "high values" the first of January itself.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] United Traders: ⚡️ The High-End Solutions in Trading Technology ⚡️ on: December 22, 2017, 01:10:34 PM
I think this is a worthy project for investment. Are there any bonuses for large investors?
as i know someone invest 12k eth with 35% bonus

Great bonus. I have been always interested in how to save tokens from dump? If large investors get 30-50% bonus, why shouldn't they sell all tokens after listing and fix easy profit?

Large investors always hold tokens, because there is no reason to do anything with them. Only members from bounty are running to sold them.

One should count bonus and bounty to the same basket, there's no more reason for bounty hunters sell their stash either, if people don't wan't to cash out early.

But that's the only reason why most of ICO coins crash almost immediately after their listing on exchanges, whether local or major ones.
They always remain in a hurry to get their coins immediately to just sell them off at one stroke without even thinking that they are only destroying the possibility of remaining in a coin that may hold a better price tag and bigger market cap in future. This is the most stupid decision these guys ever take IMHO.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Israeli PM: Bitcoin Could Replace Banks on: December 19, 2017, 02:54:27 PM
This seriously looks too optimistic of a statement, but as the PM said, it's actually conquering over those traditional banking systems that have gone completely outdated and the Blockchain technology is taking over the world with Bitcoins as a mode of payment that challenged every other financing ways. It will take a bit longer, but if everything goes according to plans and no crashes take place to make it look like a pump-dump scheme, then I think that the stable Bitcoin will surely replace Banks one day soon.
393  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin ? which one will be the best to invest in 2018? on: December 19, 2017, 02:30:55 PM
Both are great to be invested in, but if compared, Bitcoin still holds the tag to remain one of the safest investments in 2018 knowingly.
Speculators have claimed that Bitcoin can give a hyperbolic $60k shot during mid-term 2018 and if that's going to be true (even if we see a $40k which is >200% of the current price), I guess Bitcoin still holds majority of investments to be held during next year too as well as altcoins may conquer the "pump" competition in terms of price surge, but the way they will crash will be worst and so, Bitcoin remains the safest.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to advertise gambling site on: December 19, 2017, 02:13:04 PM
Hello,

I am an admin of wheel99.com

To celebrate our 1millionth spin, we created a new theme (design).
We are also looking to promote our site in several ways.
a giveaway, a contest and others are planned.

Do you guys have ideas how to promote our site?

Kind regards,

Steffson

There are many ways to advertise your 1 millionth spin as mentioned below:
- Forum ads (you need to bid in order to win the auction here at the forum itself) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2611831.0
- Signature campaign on this forum (Check Services part of the forum to know more about signature campaigns and how they work.
- Try Google Adwords, but before doing it you need to do some research for the best keywords to get your advert on top.
- Go for some traffic exchanges, email blasters would also do.
395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price after CBOE and CME on: December 19, 2017, 12:00:56 PM
The values have already started tickling down slightly and as of now, the price went to $18000 (according to preev) and is now recovering back. Stability of Bitcoin during these days has given alts a chance to rise with a bigger volume than what we saw in past that Bitcoin alone was rising while others were being thrown down hard. I guess Bitcoin will probably enter the correction mode once those large players start playing their mischievous games.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] United Traders: ⚡️ The High-End Solutions in Trading Technology ⚡️ on: December 19, 2017, 11:53:18 AM
Hi OP, I read the whitepaper and found the project very useful. To what I understood and what's there for me, I saw that during Q1 of 2018, users will get paid from authors for translations. What will they get paid exactly? USD, UTT tokens or Bitcoins? What will be the payment based upon? As well, how can we reserve a spot for your megadictionary? I am willing to translate it to Indian language, is there any requirement for the same? As the word says "MEGA" Dictionary, it means the vocabulary will have a lot of words installed so I believe that there will be many translators enrolled in same languages too. Please throw some light over this, I am interested.
397  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Psychology of waiting on: December 18, 2017, 06:34:17 PM
I have now heard a lot of people talking about they are waiting for bitcoin to drop, so that they can buy bitcoin. But these guys might have said that since 6k$ and are still waiting. What do you tell those people, to try and make them understand that waiting for a drop can cost them huge percentage gains?

That's so stupid of them to have waited this long. It would have been wiser if they bought some and then waited without the "hope" of getting Bitcoins for cheap. I saw a story where a father of 3 went all in on Bitcoins by selling their one-and-only house to invest $2.2 million in Bitcoins when the price was hovering near $5000. Now just think, who's wise? Those who waited without investing? Or this guy who bought in at such high price?
And that's not just done when he says that he won't be selling it under $20,000. They were to wait until 2020 and they were sure that Bitcoin's value will surge to a high of $20k till then, but the guy's just so lucky that he might have got all that he wanted, this year alone and I think if he can wait a bit more, Santa will probably triple his rewards next year's Christmas.

398  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrogen $20 withdrawal fee on: December 18, 2017, 06:10:55 PM
There is no point in blaming them. What they can do, when the bitcoin transaction fee is so high? I checked the average fees and the minimum amount required for instant confirmation has increased to around 600 Sat/Byte (all time high?). And it is not just Nitrogen. Have you checked the withdrawal fee at cryptopia? It is close to $40 for a single transaction!!

Yeah, that's true man. They had been giving a lot of stuff for free, free bets, lotteries, stakes, free BTC on your parlay wins and many other freebies since the day they started and just because they started charging a fee for withdrawal, now this guy thinks that it's bad for their business? They had been allowing and processing withdrawals way quicker compared to other sportsbooks. And if users will ask for daily withdrawals, how will they manage to deal with the current fee slab that's hammering every bitcoiner around the globe? The step they have taken is much better because this way, they will cut their losses as well as none would now redeem daily and/or will keep their coins in the sportsbook itself.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: How does bitcoin contribute in global market ? on: December 18, 2017, 05:51:43 PM
Its true to be say that bitcoin gives a huge contribution in global market through different task. Now most of people who are skilled and big investor know about  cryptocurrency and others digital currencies are greatly influenced by the bitcoin currency for purpose of earning profits. They can use as micro currency cause it can be used 24 hours a day and also use so much easily Financial condition are so much strong now only because of this bitcoin currency.

First things first, Bitcoin has started to dominate almost every big name out there on the list of markets when it comes to valuation as well as total market capitalization. Whether it's Goldman Sachs or Facebook, total cryptocurrencies' daily volume, as well as the cap, is beating them and leaving them behind. Not to forget about the Japanese Forex Traders who are now driving the crypto markets and I believe that someday, even Forex markets will completely involve Bitcoins and BTC's capitalization will dominate the forex too. It's too sweet of a candy to the investors who just bought in at $1 and sat till date.
400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand this bitcoin thing please on: December 18, 2017, 05:28:49 PM
Hi sorry for this question but I can’t wrap my head around this. I found out about bitcoin about a year ago but just started looking into it again. After watching videos and reading all day I finally came across this forum so maybe someone could point me in the right direction. I don’t understand how any of this really works.

Bitcoin is a speculative virtual cryptocurrency that works based on the demands of people as well as its limited supply of 21 million coins makes it special when it comes to its features like sending your money immediately to anyone in the world in a matter of seconds by paying least fees* and getting your transactions confirmed quickly.

* - Used to be lower, but now fees are higher because miners mostly accept high-fee transactions.

What I don’t get is when you put money in your account what or how do you do with it. Do you buy coins from other ppl that want to cash out.  That doesn’t make any sents to me. Idk I don’t get it.

You send your money to a Bitcoin seller and receive them in return, whether it's from an exchange or a trader himself. Yes, you buy what others are willing to sell, that's how it works. Whether general public or miners, if no one would sell, what would you buy? What doesn't make any sense to you here?

So far today all it got was IOTA was or is going to be as big as bitcoin, I set up an account at Coinbase, and one at Binance and I’m waiting for my account to be confirmed. When I understand this is there a minimum amount of money I have to put in. I don’t think there is but thought I’d ask. Thanks for taking the time to help me.

IOTA is an altcoin (alternative cryptocurrency) just like Bitcoin and it's not just IOTA alone for which you saw such words being said, but many are there in the competition trying to beat Bitcoin, which is not going to happen soon. There's no minimum when you want to buy, but currently the fees are so big you need to think of buying an amount which will at least get you some better profits to deal with the fee you will incur in your transaction. Try to buy not less than 0.01 BTC nowadays.
