Welp. Managed to split the most offensive part of the kernel into four parallel threads per hash, result is spectacularly unimpressive. The best I've come up with breaks even with the current single thread per hash implementation. Well, almost. It's actually a percent slower AND loses compute 2.0 compatibility due to using shuffle. On the other hands it performs a lot more reasonably with various launch configurations, 15 blocks of 32 threads works our equally well as the original 8x60 magic bullet for 750 Ti.

At this point I'm starting to think I'll just forget about that part and start looking if there's something else to be improved. I'm still curious as to how it runs on other hardware, so if a couple of gents on Win boxes with something else than a 750 Ti in would be willing to take it for a spin, I'd appreciate it. I've added the number for SMX/SMM/Whateverthingmabobs into the miner thread start-up info, you'll probably find your card performing best when the block count is a multiple of the SMX count and the number of threads a power of 2. 4/8/16/32/64 are the best bets.

Ok, seems like tsiv's original was better. I'm testing them OC'd now, and I thought yours was better (latest source, but similar results for prev), but that's because I was comparing it to non-OC tsiv-ccminer.
I tried other settings, like "6x48,8x64,8x64", "12x40,16x60,16x60", etc... but they all ended up worse. I can't even launch "16x64" on the 750ti's as it crashes upon not being able to allocate that many threads. Maybe something wrong on my end? Windows 7.

Your cpuminer.config is still broken for me. I had to re-use the one from tsiv. Error on alloca.h not being found.
Tsiv undeffed it, maybe that's why? https://github.com/tsiv/ccminer-cryptonight/blob/master/cpuminer-config.h

Okay, I'll copy the one from his and push it - I re-ran autogen, probably why. Also, I just pushed another commit - re-wrote the AES key expansion.
Ooh man, and I've been here trying to make nice screenshots with freshly compiled builds to show off what you've already accomplished, but you're way too fast to keep up with Cheesy

EDIT: Oh lol, just saw this. Is the .config supposed to be a HTML? :p https://github.com/wolf9466/ccminer-cryptonight/blob/master/cpuminer-config.h
Sorry for being a PITA Wink I know how to fix it easily, but maybe not everyone.
This might be easier copypaste, bottom of the page: http://pastebin.com/b7g3DLGy

sp_, something like that? Tongue Gives me only small boost though, around 50kh/s, so it could be just a calc error.

Whoohoo, another repository I can download and play with Cheesy
Thanks a lot Wolf!

EDIT: Euh...
Code:
fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'cpuminer-config.h': No such file or directory
Simply fixed it with using tsiv's original. No idea what you've missed there though Tongue

Odd, did you run autogen.sh before configure?
Visual Studio Wink So no Tongue

lol performance is cool..

350 kH/s from a R9 280x Smiley

I'll do a fresh compile.. cant be so bad
I am getting 4MHash/s with a R9 290x (I am a bit surprised by the 350kh/s)
It require the 14.6 amd drivers

Ssht, don't talk that loud. Don't tell them so us Nvidia miners still have a chance. Btw, my gtx760 is doing around 6-6.5MH/s, my 750tis only 4-4.5MH/s each Tongue I'm not used to this difference Wink
Great work djm, as always Cheesy

Hi,

Is there any chance you will make XMR merge mining with MCN/FCN?

what especial is in msn or fantom?
their profitability 23 times (FCN) and 26 (MCN) less that monero's, devs of both coins are disappeared long ago..

Merged mining is for free so...
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open questions to miners on: July 21, 2014, 01:00:46 AM
Are we going to talk about ethics here? There are none on the crypto markets and there should never be need of it. A true free market (too bad govs think otherwise).
Most pumps are artificially created anyway, multipools and tradebots make sure that pump is flattened out. If your coin can't survive the onslaught of such "unethical stuff", well, then maybe the coin doesn't have a future at all.

Also, what if I mine the most profitable coin, sell that, and buy that "long-term coin"? That way I can get more preferred coins than I would if I mined it directly. That's called trading.

I'm not the one going around telling lies on how people should hold coins, I thought that myself for a long time, but came to realize that many people who tell me to hold, are the ones dumping on my buy-orders. You should hold when you feel like it, but not if the risk is too great for your taste. Make up your own mind but be careful.

A good multipool has a good tradebot Wink You can clearly see the differences over at http://poolpicker.eu, some pools only payout half of what others do.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Open questions to miners on: July 21, 2014, 12:22:33 AM
1) Many coins don't have a long lifespan. Most don't even survive the first month! So that's why all miners scramble to get it asap.
Also, your wrong. The amount of rewards depend on the difficulty. The difficulty decides, well, how difficult it is to crack a block. Bitcoin itself has a seriously slow difficulty re-targeting in comparison to most altcoins, so regularly the average blocktime is less than the proposed 10min, because net hashrate is actually higher. When it does retarget, it looks a lot more accurate to actual net hashrate.

2) People who mine and sell at deposit probably aren't doing that well, agreed. But if you have a coin that only has a short-term pump, you better be one of the first to sell asap on peak. Multipools actually do this. They weigh the difficulty, blockreward and market prices together and mine&sell when it's really the most profitable.
Not all coins do well if you hold them, for example, a month. You'd be surprised how few do that. So take your own risk if you want to hold Wink But indeed, holding is a viable strategy, but make sure you know what you're doing.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help to choice a GPU for X11and X13 on: July 20, 2014, 02:23:42 PM
oki ;p so i order my first 750ti EVGA SC :p

Yep, starting off with one GPU as a hobby-miner, like myself, is the best way to go in these rough mining times. It's pretty hard to ROI, but if you even have only one 750ti, you can still manage to get some coins that are fresh and new and not yet on exchanges. This is, sadly, where the money for a miner can be made Wink
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help to choice a GPU for X11and X13 on: July 20, 2014, 12:18:20 PM
Hi,

I would like to start mining X11, X13 & perhaps X15 algo coins.

could you please help me to choice the best gpu card with this imput :
* less watt/khash,
* less noise (it'll be install in my room)
* less temperature,
* no 6 pins,
* less expensive ;p

I think to buy 750ti but don't know the better choice with my imputs so I need your help Smiley

I search a lot and find :
MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti Twin Frozr GAMING 2GB
or perhaps
EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked

I'ld like to start with 1 card but could buy some more later.

thank you in advance

EVGA SC. Best performance for a non-6 pin, runs really stable and silent.

thanks for the reply. it is obviously going to be tricky to calculate excatly everyone losses. the whole thing pisses me of the more i think about it, these new owners or whatever should be on this thread keeping people properly updated and not a poxy few words every 2 weeks on twitter. i honestly thought they would be smarter and join in here and talk which would keep people at ease a lot more.

The new staff has actually said publicly that they do not have the time to updated threads right now.  It is way more important for them to actually fix the website and get it operational at this time.  This is their exact words.

lol they dont have the time. that just says it all then, shows how much they think of their "valued" customers if they dont even have few mins a day to update on a thread. it really does amaze me. thats all i have to say, couldnt even be bothered talking about it now.

What in the world are you talking about. They value there customers so much they are spending 15-24 hours daily working on coding the site. And as I said. all you have to do is hop on irc if you want an update. ask and wait on someone to answer you.  I used to work on coding the site. I know how much of a pain in the ass it is and they are starting from scratch. Or I should say they started from scratch.

I'm obviously missing something here but I can't see how it could possibly be more efficient (time-wise) to answer questions on IRC than it would be to post a proper update once in a while.

The admins don't answer every single question that is shot out.  Its mostly other users that have heard the answer from staff that answer you.  And honestly, as a user and not staff I would much rather see them working on the site then answering the same question that people can change page on a forum and get the answer. Or even read the website.  Anyways. from what I have heard the beta is coming along nicely.  Lets see if they can get this back up and running.

Dear

You should shut your mouth and return users coins you stole.

Giving out addresses isn't nice Tongue

Small update to my profit calc, v0.5.7b.    Release page
Hi, thanks for the update, but it sets my antivirus on fire when accessing "protected registry keys", Grin and this newer version now requires administrative rights to run in windows.. just curious why it needs admin rights now?

I had some people having problem with launching it without admin rights. Meh, I'll just pull the required admin rights down and use it as standard reply for anyone with errors Smiley

What about adding an API? Would be nice to browse trough each coin and their pools.
And what about also listing the coins algo + info site along with it? Wink

One quick question.... I dont know if it has been said, or answered, but for whatever reason my gpu power % is not close to 100%...is this normal? If not, how do I fix? Running nvminer-D

That's normal Wink I still have this image I made a few weeks ago: https://i.imgur.com/971bVH7.png
It shows that every algo has its own characteristic, but it never reaches a stable 100% power usage.
I should make an updated one ^^" With killer-groestl it shows a bit different, not mentioning the nice curves CryptoNight makes Cheesy

Small update to my profit calc, v0.5.7b.    Release page
- Added support for cryp.today, a site maintained by suchmoon (original btctalk thread) that shows the payout he truly got for different multipools (comparing with PoolPicker results may be skewed if one updates at different times than the other)
- Added a log screen, no more annoying popup screens
- Error counter in bottom-right corner so you know when to check the log ;-)
- Live-filtering of the table based upon settings in "Coin Price Calc"
- Rainbow colored option under "Misc settings" Cheesy
- Updated to Bittrex V1.1 API. Old version goes down on the 20th of July.
- Again, some general speedups, bugfixes and improvements

You could do some mathy stuff: take total blockreward (blocks per minute/minutes in a day). Or just google for "difficulty to net hashrate". Loads of results, each using their own way.
