381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 29, 2024, 05:42:00 PM
Gambling always bring excitement to me which might be the motivation I find to play my favorite games. It might not happen to others but whenever I want to start gambling, I always feel excited. Although after the gambling and I lost, the excitement will vanish and reality will come in. One funny thing is that as soon as the next day comes and I get set to gamble again, the excitement returns. This might seem like gambling addiction to some people but it is not. Like I said before, it is just how I get motivated to gamble and with proper management of my finances, it is not much problems.

I see this as no symptom of gambling addiction, you are only excited with gambling. That is whenever you are about gambling, you'll feel happy and excited. Why this joy is transient should be questioned. Feeling that vanishing syndrome after gambling and losing money. Does it mean you're not comfortable losing the money or do you wager a huge amount enough to remove the excitement in you? Gambling feels good to me when I'm winning poker games with a flush. Gambling with people feels exciting, another game is a slot, and it gets me excited. Because I have a special interest in roulette games. The game offers multiple options and sometimes I could predict correctly the number where the ball stops. It yields lots of profits but is rare.

These factors I enjoy without being concerned about the funds. Due to how sparingly I wager my money. My goal is to enjoy the game. However, sometimes, when I go against my instincts or in some self-arguments with myself on a specific error, I get a bit concerned about the lost opportunity of winning big. Gambling is risky, and confusing at some point. During this level of feelings, I'd prefer to stop playing and take a rest. Whenever the game isn't fun to me anymore, I don't play for gambling's sake or to make money. Once my brain power begins to diminish and I'm no longer able to think thoroughly about a decision, I'd take a rest. Because playing ahead could cause more losses.
382  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 29, 2024, 05:20:12 PM

Some people who keep their gambling a secret, in my opinion, are people who don't want to take risks, because I myself do it like that, I don't want anything that could trigger conflict with the gambling I do. Therefore, keeping the gambling you do a secret, including the winnings you get, is good.

Keeping your gambling habit equals not wanting to take risks? Not necessarily so. People who keep their gambling habits a secrets perhaps don’t want their affairs out and about in the public. Risks has nothing to do with keeping your affairs private as you could always and at anytime, take same huge risks privately as others publicly do without anyone knowing about it.
I’m a big fan of keeping your affairs private, only sharing to those friends and family close enough and who deserve to have certain information about your activities.

Whatever we do publicly or privately has its advantages and disadvantages. Gambling is a game that has been privatized due to the recent integration of online casinos. So, people won't know if we gamble unless we open up to them. And nobody goes out on the street screaming that he's a gambler. As you said, Iroh, players only tell people they think should know, close friends or family. Sometimes the winning could be so outrageous that the player will unknowingly tell many people, out of joy, that he won big in gambling. There are cases like this where people wouldn't mind unveiling their gambling attitude. It has some advantages, especially in times of difficulty or problem gambling.

Those who kept their gambling habit a secret from everyone would have a hard time telling people when they've got an underlying problem. Talking to people as suggested is fine, as they'll serve as a watchdog on our behavioral change. This doesn't mean the whole society should know about this, we all deserve some privacy. Keeping such thing as gambling a secret, makes it sound like gambling is banned in the country. In a society where gambling is accepted, gambling platforms are built in all corners of the street. What is there to hide or keep a secret? It wouldn't hurt the people around us if we told them about the attitude. I don't see anything wrong with sharing the information. It shouldn't be a secret.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: March 29, 2024, 04:48:03 PM
Chasing losses and not being able to stop and withdrawing money when you get a profit because you think it's a lucky day and thoughts like this are the result of not being able to control yourself so you are dominated by greed.
Unfortunately, many gamblers repeat this mistake, it could be because they are gambling with money that they cannot afford to lose, so they are always trying to get back what they have lost, and when they win, they are not satisfied because after calculating it, it is not comparable to what they have lost, even though it is difficult it's even impossible to recover what you've lost in gambling, even if you can, it's just because you're lucky.

I think it all starts with a person's inability to accept the fact of loss or defeat which in turn makes it difficult for them to control themselves when they lose and in the end it is clear as you said that the action they will take is gambling with the intention and purpose of chasing victory in order to reach the recovery phase, this is a situation when someone is losing and also when the situation is winning still I would say that it is not a real win for them because after all this type of gambler will find it difficult to completely ignore the greed aspect in him so as you said that they feel that this is his lucky day and instead of immediately cashing out his winnings but they prefer to continue the session in the hope of getting a bigger amount.

Usually this is a typical gambler who has entered the addiction phase where when they win they are greedy and when they lose they are unable to accept reality, and yes I agree with you that most likely they are gambling with money that they cannot afford and also in addition to carrying the intention and purpose to earn so in the end the results at the end of the session are always disappointing, they only think about winning and do not think about what if they lose.

These gamblers are comfortable with chasing losses, it's a psychological factor that's not crucial in positively helping a gambler's journey. Such players don't research for fresh ideas that'll prevent the multiple losses caused by chasing losses. They think the strategy is the only way out of gambling. That's why the players tend to stick to the idea and not stop, despite getting lots of losses. I don't blame these players, due to their inability to make changes by themselves. They'll only be blamed for not trying to read up or try new means of gambling and quit compulsive gambling behavior. Well, nobody is bigger than what he doesn't know. I think such players are not equipped with gamblers who would show them the right gambling attitude.

Most of them are carried away by similar players, with mutual behaviors. At the early stage of gambling, these players make this decision willingly. But along the line, it begins to occur involuntarily. Many of them never realize this anymore, it's now their gambling culture. To play away all their funds whenever they gamble. The wins aren't enough, because a lot has been lost. Hence the tradition continues that way for a long time till the person can't get over it. They lack control and because of this, the player wouldn't have the energy to stop this or completely get satisfied from gambling in this manner.
384  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if an employee of a betting company misuses company funds for gambling? on: March 29, 2024, 03:57:47 PM
First, he'll be replaced by a competent employee, second, the funds will be deducted from his salary. I think it's an excellent method to deal with this betrayal. The problem will be taken seriously because it's in the gambling niche. An employee in a casino setting isn't meant to be a compulsive gambler. They prefer employees who don't look into gambling. That's why most casino attendants can't answer some gambling questions. Responding to this question, it'll be difficult for an employee to access the fault where casino funds are being stored. Except he plotted this with some criminals. Speaking of online casinos, I think the private key is held by the boss or owner of the casino. And the withdrawal method is quite automated with some codes, I guess. As it doesn't look manually done. Hence accessing the funds isn't simple for any employee. I understand that every organization owns a treasurer, but they need to have a joint signature with the casino owner. No amount will be moved without the approval of the casino. Figuring a way as an employee to go against this and stealing the money for gambling purposes will be a punishable offense.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: March 29, 2024, 03:32:35 PM
Patience not only helps you succeed in gambling but also helps you succeed in all areas of life. If a patient person can adopt a good strategy of patience in all areas of his life then he will definitely get success in one way or another at some stage of life. Moreover, in the case of gambling and trading, one should never rush to trade or bet on gambling because in this case these two things must be patient and well researched before betting or trading. Moreover, in the case of gambling and trading, these two things should never be accompanied by emotion or excessive greed because these two things always help to have a negative effect on the good deeds in a person's life. So patience and emotion control are very important things in life and if these two things are mastered then success in life becomes inevitable.
Having patience is one of the characteristics of a good gambler. We don't have to rush time just because we want to be making fast profits from the market. Gambling is good and sometimes we do things that would make us to look like we want to be making faster profits from the market. It is good when we have the patience of things and using a better strategy before we start gambling. There are some bet that need some patience to think and prepare before we go in and gamble. A patient gambler would always have a positive results even though it's not immediately. Being positive is one of the ways we can keep prospering and benefiting from what we do.

Patience is a virtue they say, but when applied wrongly could destroy a person's aim. Knowing when to take action while patient is a smart move. Patience works with timing and vigilance. Gamblers who implement patience as a strategy should look out for what is in there for them to win. Time is precious and shouldn't be wasted waiting, without a substantial reward available to gain. While the patience context in gambling is confusing and can be applied in unique contexts to mean different things, we all need to realize the importance of patiently planning our strategies.

However, saying, Wakate, that patience guarantees a positive result for gamblers who utilize it, has multiple meanings. By positive results are you referring to winning money or escaping addiction? The first mentioned can be hard to achieve because the gambler could wait forever without getting what they wanted. The fact we need something doesn't mean we'll get it. Hence, using patience for such things isn't worth it because after playing patiently and the big win doesn't show up, that'll be a wasted effort. While the second mentioned is achievable, the player also needs to focus on achieving the goal. Hence, patience without a smart strategy could be wasted work in gambling.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 29, 2024, 02:57:11 PM
When our only reason is just for fun and entertainment, I think they really don't care if they lose. But in the feeling that they are happy because the money they gambled immediately ran out or was lost immediately, of course they are not happy because their money ran out immediately because they might be hanging on to enjoy gambling.

This is my assessment of how sometimes I felt this when I was gambling and how many times it happened to me that I was addicted to gambling, even though my gambling money was limited while I was really fine with losing.

It is also better that we asked ourselves on the purpose in which we are gambling for, maybe its something that we are doing in other to depend on gambling as a source for our income or we are doin such for an entertainment purpose, i don't know why some gamblers will fells very sad when they discover making a loss in gambling, this shouldn't be the first kind of their encounter and as a regular gambler, they ought to have been used to it already that we either win or loose when gambling.

Gamblers forget their purpose once their mistake consistently reoccur. The problems appear oftentimes in different dimensions. A player may lose higher amounts than he lost the last time he encountered a loss. Hence, the pain will be fresh, and the player will feel angered again. I understand that players are meant to get used to it, but nobody feels a fresh pain and holds his tongue. Gamblers undergo numerous unique problems ranging from money, emotions, stress, etc. Yet, for some, the game is fun, and for others a huge problem. Moving ahead, I'd say that how they feel is a self-determination. A gambler who is focused on enjoying his game, won't get sad over a loss.

His concern would be other things like building and maintaining his strategies. While others will pass through hassles and tough experiences, tending to achieve all their monetary fantasies. So, to remove the Op's doubt the players behave according to their gambling perspectives. Putting a smile on our faces over a loss is a personal decision. They are players who will never laugh over a loss. It all depends on how much is lost in the gambling process. Random players with no strategy experience regular gambling losses and it hurts. Due to their designated expectations. Those who don't have a single expectation welcome any outcome they receive. Provided that the lost money isn't huge enough to get them sad.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 29, 2024, 09:35:15 AM
I say that this is a typical gambler who will eventually enter the addiction phase and it is a fact that most gamblers come with the intention and purpose to earn because they are unable to resist all the things that look tempting which are actually nothing more than a temptation so that they do not stop their gambling activities or it is something that will make them become more excessive.
Yes, it's true that typical gamblers who have entered the addiction phase are easy to see from the way they play, usually they have more time to gamble and spend a lot of money when gambling, they are more easily tempted by the money they expect from the gambling they play indirectly, in fact they have spent a lot of money without realizing it, if only they realized that they had exceeded the limit of course they would regret this behavior which is not good for a gambler.

Gamblers must know when they are gambling and when they should stop gambling. When they are not gambling, they should look for other alternatives, looking for other entertainment besides gambling, that would be better, sometimes gamblers who have entered the addiction phase always unconsciously continue gambling. go beyond the limits of their abilities and spend a lot of money that is not really necessary, the point is that as gamblers we must be able to reject everything that is tempting from gambling itself, money can not only be found in gambling but there are many things we can do to earn money apart from gambling.

I get challenged to ponder on the force that drives players to think gambling is the only means of earning money. I would have concluded the rigorous thought if working-class gamblers didn't behave similarly to the unemployed players. Why would a player who makes money prefer to risk his business for gambling? Delving deeper into the mental impact of gambling on players, it looks quite vast. Players getting attacked emotionally in unique forms. They have never been a similar occurrence; most addicted players tell unique fables about their experiences. Leaving me with an inconclusive conclusion of what factor is in control of these mental problems.

Tracing down to the emotional encounters of the gambler, growing up could help as a factor. Were they, the addict, not appreciative of getting a new game console? Could it be domestic violence? multiple questions came by but as I said it's inconclusive. Because a player who is to rest after work sacrifices the moment to gamble. Then goes back to work unprepared, that's a bad experience. If they're tempted by the money, aren't they earning some funds? Most players who chase big profit, have never won more than they earn in their businesses. It's a tough situation to figure out why gambling is this way, more like drug addiction. But not all are buried in the addiction to misbehave in their workplace or thinking of earning money only via gambling. It seems gamblers exhibit this attitude a lot.
388  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 29, 2024, 08:56:46 AM

Therefore, what we have control over ourselves is different, because if we don't have it, the chances are high that we will chase our losses when we experience them.
The more they chase the loss they lost, the more the chances that it will never be recovered increase.

Because luck is getting further and further away from them, they think that when they try to chase it, luck is close to them, but in reality, that is not the real reality that is happening.

It is true that every gambler has their own differences in controlling themselves when gambling and of course as gamblers we must have self-control by using this control well so that we do not act and think carelessly when carrying out gambling activities.
Your opinion is absolutely right, don't chase losses that have already occurred or think about getting back the money you lost because that will actually make us even more miserable because in gambling, in fact, there are more losses than wins, so we have to be able to understand these two sentences well.

At some point, the gambler stops thinking and only acts. If they had the privilege of thought, the player would have stopped playing long ago. I don't think anybody is happily chasing losses in gambling. That's out of the gambling context. Gamblers, even freshers never had in mind to behave this way. Hardly were they told of such problems. Most of the gamblers only had the generalized knowledge of win or loss. Rarely were they prepared to face the dangers of being a honey badger in gambling. Chasing a goal related to money in gambling is wrong. And it's worse not to be concerned about the challenges that come back disturbing us after chasing those lost funds. These unexpected mistakes cornered them without notice.

The player at first thinks all is cool, he could stop anytime. Yet as time creeps by he'd find it impossible to break free. Their thoughts get deceived to accept they need to strike harder to break through the problem.

But the more they wager the harder the borders get harder. Hence, these players at some level get tired of doing this and will sincerely seek help. The journey is so weary that nobody will ever want to go back into addiction. The problem with naive players is that they get nervous about this, which is meant not to be happening. We all want to win and feel nervous over a penalty shoot-out, but not to the extent of forgetting ourselves. Not realizing when the fear is hurting us, is wrong. Self-conscious players get to examine themselves and figure out if some issues, internally, bother them. Gambling is limited because of the untold personal challenges players need to solve. Everyone must gamble with care not to become a victim.
389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 29, 2024, 07:44:57 AM
I agree that gambling can usually create excitement but it gives the addict even more excitement. Gambling is the most exciting game when all the friends sit together. But whenever you start gambling alone and get more excited or angry, you are more likely to lose. If the excitement is raging then you need a break from gambling. But if the natural excitement you start gambling then you will definitely have a chance of winning. I'm also under normal stress at times, and I've gambled in anger a few times and suffered losses.

When gambling and I feel a knot in the pit of my stomach, the session forcefully will get to an end. I wouldn't prefer gambling in such a mood, so whenever such feelings erupt, stopping the session is my only option. Being nervous of what outcome we'll get in gambling is happening as a result of anxiety. An example showing the player has been dealing with such problems for a long period. Hence, the moment he sits in front of any gambling machine, his impulses begin to shoot out fear and nervousness. The player is supposed to stop gambling during the session and reduce the period he spends gambling. This can relax his nervous system and stop further agitations. Furthermore, the player needs someone to help explain to him the need to enjoy gambling.

Wagering money out of fear puts anger on the player if he continuously loses. Sometimes you'd see a player looking daggers at his computer screen. They leave the casino with a frown face. Such experiences show the gambler didn't enjoy his gambling session. He'll tend to come right back to try his luck. I noticed, not sure how correct this is, that people try again earlier if they don't enjoy or get satisfied after gambling, compared to a gambler who enjoyed his time at the casino. Those who enjoy gambling can easily go for a few month's break, while those who don't, find it hard to take a day off from gambling. They'll work strides ahead to beat the system but get disappointed. The casino is ahead of the gamblers. Players only have the choice to stay happy, for the safety of their mental health.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: March 29, 2024, 07:03:29 AM
Players with self-control will easily figure this out and focus on stopping the session and waiting for another moment. While the naive gamblers would chase it till the bitter end. Where they'll have nothing left on their bankroll. The urge to chase this loss is quite strong, and gamblers must be prepared to get hold of their emotions. As it's in control of this urge, players also need to master how it works. Staying intelligent emotionally is more crucial than picking games to book. Gamblers are easily broken when they're losing. And they won't control this because they're lost, already, and play only for the sake of getting back what they've lost. Erupting new troubles for the player and more heartbreak.

For gamblers who have self-control, I believe they are people who can control everything, including themselves and their thoughts. and I think people who can control themselves when gambling are rare, most people who gamble are people who cannot control their emotions and themselves so that serious problems occur such as big losses by losing the money they have. but this is a good thing, we should be able to have good self-control when gambling.

People who are wise in gambling will of course limit the gambling they do, because with their good minds they will not gamble excessively, because excessive gambling is not good. Also wise gamblers, in my opinion, will not waste their winnings, so when they get a win, the choice they will make is to cash it in because in my opinion that is the best choice when they win at gambling. You can see the clear side of defeat that will definitely happen, we have to be smart in do gambling because it is the key to avoiding big losses.

Excessive gambling plugs out happiness from the gambler, he then plays with anxiety and anger. Players need to have a clear heart while gambling. Possessing or harnessing a clouded mind during a gambling session is wrong. It puts the gambler on the run for his money. Making the right choices becomes a hassle. Hence, gamblers shouldn't pick up irresponsible gambling as an option. Staying cautious of the way we gamble is crucial. Minding the fun business creates excitement for the gambler. He'll never suffer any form of mental stress. There are enormous benefits to staying positive or responsible as a gambler. It opens up the thinking horizons of the player to make effective choices in real-life events.

Gambling sharpens the brain to work fast in decision-making, critical thinking, and time and money management. However, irresponsible gamblers resist seeing the brighter opportunities gambling could offer when these qualities are applied in their place of work. Compulsive players focus on making money and destroying their happiness. Hence, with an untidied mind, such a gambler won't see the benefits of gambling. Staying responsible puts the player in a position where he sees his future in gambling, and how technically smart he will get in life while gambling responsibly. Sincerely, staying responsible isn't simple. Challenges erupt in the life of all gamblers. When not squarely tackled it could lead the player to get compulsive. Therefore, the blame on the compulsive player should be reduced. They'll get better after walking the weary miles of gambling addiction.
391  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 29, 2024, 05:27:30 AM

i don't have a family, but from my experience of seeing people around me who gamble and have families, there are only two possibilities, firstly, the person understands his responsibilities and reduces his gambling and focuses more on his family, and secondly, he doesn't care at all about his family and only gambles. those are the only two types of gamblers, so it depends on the person whether they care about their family or they don't care at all and just gamble without thinking about their family.

Gamblers own unique upbringings, and not every one of us acknowledges the respect responsible gambling adds to our family. Those players who care less about their families and focus on gambling only add disrespect to their homes. Nobody talks about something else in that home, instead, it's all about blame and troubles. A compulsive gambler is concerned with winning big, while gambling. He'd neglect the needs of his children and let them behave the way they wanted, without screening their actions. Such people are not qualified to be called good fathers. Their behavior affects society as a whole, not partly.

Because his sad and emotionally bedraggled kids will go about exhibiting strange attitudes amongst their peers. Instigating those behaviors on some innocent kids which circulates or extends to a wider variety of children in that environment or society. Hence, such gamblers should imagine a wider view of their irresponsibility in their homes and how it affects their environment. It causes extra pain to society and not just his family. The people around such a player need to create some awareness, at least to help the gambler adjust his lifestyle. A married man with kids, shouldn't pay his precious kids with self-inflicted hardship. Cutting down on the behavior is quite better than pushing endlessly on that attitude.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 29, 2024, 04:44:29 AM
I've also read a response in this forum from a guy who testified that his lover saved him from gambling addiction. It shows how love could be the highest of them all. When an addict is close to someone he loves, his interest in gambling gets shifted automatically to that person. Hence, helping him to focus on rethinking himself. He also listens to the advice of this person, another strong benefit that could change him close to instantly. Though it's hard for them opening up to a close friend helps the healing process of a gambler. The person who received such information should endeavor to help by acting as a therapist. But the confusing aspect of this remains that not everyone knows what next to do upon hearing this.

In a situation like this, if they've got the funds, forwarding the addict to a therapist is the best choice. Therapy could be done with anybody, but a person who isn't experienced in making the right moves or strategies won't see an effective result. The trial-and-error method isn't encouraged. Mental disorder is not a joke. It's painful to the person and everyone around him. Within himself, he'd be asking multiple questions on why he's acting strangely. Questioning the gambler is effective in helping him think and remember things he's forgotten about himself due to gambling addiction. He, the addict, can also travel to meet people who will help restrict his actions. Sometimes a strict procedure should be applied.
Love is powerful. But don't expect a miracle cure for addiction. When the relationship gets rough, replacing one preoccupation with another is perilous. Love's awesome, but it ain't easy. It takes work, discusion, and occasionaly firm boundaries

Therapy with a friend? Hmm. An ally is important, but most individuals aren't qualified to handle significant mental health issues. It's like asking your friend to fix your car when they can barely change a tire. Might work, but probably hurt more. Professional therapy? Hell yeah, if you can afford it. The fit must be right. Addiction experts, not textbook readers, are needed. Finding them is hard

Gambling for fun is cool. However, losing control and doing things that aren't "you" is your wake-up call. Questioning is the first step, but action matters most. That could involve specialized rehab or strong self-discipline. Take control and don't let addiction rule

Yeah, experts encourage addicts to chin up and face the problem, by creating a bond with the addict. Interpersonal relationship is the engine of every form of therapy, expert or not. Sometimes during therapy, experts are incapable of developing this friendship with addicts. The therapist may have used uncomfortable responses in his conversation with the addict. It's hard to detect an effective response that'll tickle pink the addict on hearing it. The transient pleasure, if achieved, can improve the addict's interest in the therapist. Thereby opening a reason within him, why he shouldn't skip therapy sessions. No therapist is perfect or expert enough to bring people to therapy, with no interpersonal relationship available. Addicts often miss their session, because they don't enjoy answering multiple boring questions asked by the therapist.

However, addiction experts, as you mention, are great due to experience dealing with other addicts. But people rarely get fond of one another meeting for the first time. The first day in therapy isn't assured for the therapist, he foresees two things, the client may return or not after leaving his office. This self-thought is used to know if they've done a great job or failed during the first session with a fresh client. So, getting an addict to continually visit his therapist, isn't the task of the therapist, but that of the addict's relation or family. Let's assume the family can afford to pay the expert, the addict needs someone to convince him to go for therapy, daily. Until he builds a strong bond with the therapist. Visiting therapy, for the addict, will then be like seeing a friend. That's a serious improvement in his healing process. Hence, if the expert isn't capable of getting hold of the addict's attention on the first day, the addict's family or loved one should assist in talking to the addict regarding why he should frequently go for therapy.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: March 27, 2024, 11:59:30 PM
Gambling is characterized by uncertainty and randomness, where outcomes are influenced by luck rather than knowledge or strategy. Mistakes can occur in gambling, and the element of chance means that there are no guarantees of success. Many individuals are aware of the risks associated with gambling, including the potential for both gains and losses, before they choose to participate.

Gambling can often be contentious and complex. Very few people experience positive outcomes from gambling, if the aim is profit. People must weigh the risks and rewards of gambling for themselves and make informed decisions about their participation. Without viewing gambling as entertainment, It will just cause unnecessary burden to mental health and financial concern.

Gambling has no hidden truth of its outcome. Players beforehand are well aware of the win and loss potentials of gambling. With the losses appearing more in casinos. With no designated guarantee of who wins or not. But players tend to forget these factors and focus on winning like it's the only option. There are multiple factors to look into as a gambler, which include safeguarding our mental health, managing the bankroll against disastrous losses, sticking to the limits, etc. All these when done right, can be considered a win. Money isn't generated in casinos, instead it's spent. No importance in defending the fabled financial recklessness of gamblers, but few players are different. They are responsible gamblers who keep an eye on their mistakes and endeavor never to repeat them. Gamblers who don't perceive gambling as entertainment make up for the bad reputational stories told to people regarding gamblers. Their ill gambling habit has made gambling a downward course in society. Yet it won't change the narrative that gambling can be managed. With lesser troubles. However, not everyone is equipped with such information, skill, or knowledge. Players need to earn it.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 27, 2024, 11:37:40 PM
Yes, I agree with this helpful suggestion. By reducing the number of games chosen as combinations, we can significantly decrease the risk of losing. Many people consistently lose because they select numerous games in hopes of winning a large sum of money. However, it's important to understand that games are primarily based on luck. By minimizing risky bets, we can increase our chances of success. Let's consider a scenario where I've been betting on a combination of teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal, or Liverpool throughout the season. Even if they experience losses, the impact wouldn't be as severe compared to someone who relies solely on luck by combining 25 teams every weekend to win big. It's wiser to select teams with a higher probability of winning and wager an amount of money that one can afford to lose rather than combining multiple uncertain teams.

Seriously speaking, I don't see why gamblers who are familiar with viewing premier league once or twice per week, would pick clubs they don't know in Italian leagues. Your strategy is fine, gambling on teams you are sure will win more than losing in the premier league. However, greed has influenced gamblers, especially low rollers, to blindly gamble for an endless stream of wealth. One aim which like the Red Sea will be hard to cross or achieve. Building up analytical knowledge on a team is a gratifying exercise as a gambler. The losses will be lesser for the gambler. An advantage to smoothly enjoy the gambling process, and no snowing under with work, searching for teams, and analysis. The teams you listed above can surprisingly perform better than most teams in the premier league. And fully deserve to be staked money upon.

Unfortunately, they don't play matches on the same days. Hence, naive low rollers, wouldn't care about a strategy that insists on picking four games or below. Instead, due to the wealth they foresee, the player will pick up more unknown teams to boost his results on the gambling slips. Such behaviors only attract losses rather than wins, unlike gambling on well-known teams. As you said, the teams we watch their matches are better off, compared to strange football teams from unfamiliar leagues. What is the essence of wagering money on a team, one wouldn't watch play. That's a blank idea of gambling. Money fuels such ideas, but painfully the gambler loses. Yet he'll repeat similar mistakes next weekend. Sure, wagering low amounts on a few matches, when we win, attracts lesser profits, but at least there was a win. And it feels better than losing.

It's hard to understand why they cant just stop. Could be due to mental health problem or lack of support.  It takes a lot of courage, willingness, and determination to break free from addiction, so it's recommended for them to seek professional help to have successful recovery.

You're not in their shoes, it could be a lot more harder for them to understand why they have an excessive urge to gamble.
Yes, It could be mental health problem, but most addicted gamblers are not aware that they are really into a sh*t situation, not until they realize they've already lost everything.
Lack of support? Nah, If that person is not interested in cutting of gambling completely out of his daily routine, that support means really nothing. You can force him to go for a rehab, but most likely he's still gonna come back to gamble. Combating gambling addiction starts from ones self. Otherwise, It could be a very rough journey forcing someone to withdraw against gambling addiction. The same goes to people who are alcoholics and drug addicts. Even cigarette addiction is really hard to get rid off. Sometimes you'll get withdrawal sickness.

Addiction can be stopped, but hardly will an addict quit gambling. Addicts are informed to stop, not quit because it's impossible or not wrong to gamble. We only try to remind the addicts that they're going quite too fast into destroying their emotions. When we argue this with the addict, he develops a countervailing reaction. He could blankly stare at us for uttering such words. The addict is emotionally detached from whatever is happening around him. Hence, his attitude is centered on what he believes in gambling. Nothing else could get him out of such thoughts.

Gamblers who are into such problems, lose old friends and hardly will see a fresh one. If one is opportune to have help around him, sooner he'd be fine. And have a change of mind. Although we all need to be smart on this and act professionally. It's a mind game, and they must be a winner. Going to show the addict your plans towards him are a threat to him. He'll get prepared waiting for any moment you tend to reach out to them.

He'll also prepare his answers to whatever questions he presumes you'd ask him that day. The conversation can't end in peace. That wasn't a conversation, anyway. It's a mental tug-of-war. Relieving this stress helps reduce the problems of the addict. He needs to focus on whatever he's doing. We can only be of help when we claim to be or act like him. Picking up the best possible means of being of help to him, works faster. The relationship we build with the addict while on his side, makes him hear from us.

Isolation is bad emotionally for any human, addicted or not. Humans are meant to network and communicate with people around them. Naturally having conversations not relating to gambling with an addict, helps sharpen his thought for a minute or two. Continuously doing it can change his brain entirely to that perspective, which you seized the opportunity to embed in his thoughts. The goal isn't to make him quit but to stop him from compulsive gambling.

Gambling is very bad. I have also experienced someone keeping his family out of food for months because of gambling just his wife struggling to make sure she feeds the children or he does go to work gamble drink and come home the next day go to work gamble drink and come home each time he takes his payment 95% is going for gambling 5% is maybe for other things he don’t even care about his family anymore gambling has taken over him. He always have this mindset of getting back or he has lost in gambling, which is not possible when looking at it because he is not gambling wisely yes, this really happened you are right.
This could be worst, and once you’re addicted in gambling it seems that you don’t care anymore to the people around you even if its your love ones. Please be reminded that if you are going to gamble that much, you should keep in your mind about your limit and being responsible is always advisable. Gambling addictions took life of many gamblers already, and this continues because people are being too emotional and yet they gamble that much.

Addiction for a married man is worse compared to a single man. Family is the advantage for a married gambler, he'd easily have helpers. But the emotional harm he entrusts on his kids and wife made a single man better off. Especially when he got love from a good therapist. The problem gambler above is undergoing serious pains, I guess he'd be aggressive to anybody that dares talk him down on his gambling attitude. His family will share his pains, and it's early for the young offspring. Addiction is a chronic sickness; the pain stays for a longer period. Hence, the kids will grow up undergoing ill-treatment from an addicted father.

That's actually a rough ride as a fresher in this big blue marble. His kid's future will emotionally be affected, the wrong way. He, the child, can be a gambler or a full-time hater of gambling. While it's wrong to get addicted, one shouldn't grow up to hate a specific exercise. His life won't be complete. Life is only enjoyed when we acknowledge all aspects of living. In a nutshell, gamblers should teach their kids, and envision what the child's future would be if they allow addiction to destroy their childhood. Mood swings have made addicts yell at kids, on slight matters that are not yelling. The child starts to behave strangely.

Thinking gambling would earn you money is risky. Like fighting a lost battle, the chances are always against you. Whoever disagrees has to wake up. The hook is the 'huge wins' yet they don't tell the complete story. Gambling is fun and safe. But knowing the dangers, respecting the game, and not chasing losses are key. Luck is unpredictable, and addiction is dangerous. Recognizing indicators and saying no when necessary are important. Your time matters. Don't gamble it away. Limit your gambling and stick to it. Better ways to spend time build you up, not break you down. And the house always wins. Be aware and gamble responsibly if you do. Your life; protect it

Time is most effective when it's fixed with an aim. Gamblers, in large numbers, barely set their aims straight, and lots more are aimless. When targeting with no aim, a stone hits the wrong target. And could hurt someone, could hit on a car or pedestrian. Gamblers should focus on the purpose. The fantasies enforcing their wrong habits can prepare their life for the worse. Most of the gamblers who want a jackpot are not ready to handle such a huge amount of money. Gamblers should develop self-examination each day. Asking questions like, today if I'm handed out this jackpot, what next? This helps a player to realize his level of thinking as a jackpot winner.

What does he purchase and what place he'd go to with money, is it actually what he wants? It, also, provides the need to understand our aims and motives as gamblers. Are we just in a casino to receive a paycheck to get luxury lifestyles? After getting those fantasies, what next? The vision isn't there, he won't see what is next. Because they're never in need of this, as no plan is available on ways to utilize the money. Hence, the player will revolve around living a luxury lifestyle, till his funds are exhausted. It feels depressing to get broke after living a luxurious life. The body will imagine it as a deceit, as it thought, they've gotten to such a level. Once a player isn't living the life he once got with the jackpot, his life will look confusing.

The simple fact is that if we lose a large amount of money, we will be very upset and losing a certain amount can also upset us, but not much, because we already have bad emotions. In fact, it makes absolutely no difference to us whether we lose 10k or 15k. But if we can win back or at least get a small plus, then our emotions will change dramatically. This is exactly why many are trying to win back, but at the same time they are putting themselves in an even bigger hole, losing again and again. There is no need to chase it, because if you don’t know how to stop in time, the outcome will be obvious.

Though chasing of loss can also be used to catch some  because, if the gambler eventually gets lucky that day and start wining like 10x strike, he might start boosting that he has collected some of his passed lost, but he if keep playing and the table turn around, it only takes discipline for him not to exceed his limit for that sitting. Sometimes he major problem many gambler face is that fact that they use money that was supposed to be used for another thing to gamble.

Unfortunately, most gamblers are entertained with the funds. If they wish to be happy again, they'll go ahead to chase fun. Once they win the excitement gets so loud that the gambler won't mind his next moves or prediction. Gamblers out of the sudden fun, want more, they'll stake without calculating. It's transient fun, the player doesn't enjoy the fun for a longer period. Lack of satisfaction compels these players to try to reach full satisfaction. Yet, that doesn't exist in the gambling niche. Gamblers who expect to be entertained with money, knocked on the wrong door. So, the player desperately wants what he's not capable of achieving. If players were easily given jackpots the gambling industry would be long gone, before we were born. Humans keep trying to achieve the hard-to-get.

Hence, they'll be depositing more money to get the jackpot. Isn't it an investment? What happens when our investment doesn't yield ROI? anger erupts on the person. Unlike responsible gamblers, good investments also yield fun out of their investment, only when they get profits. Responsible players have proved gambling not to be an investment. Due to the unbiased response to win or lose. Players shouldn't pick sides on both factors which makes them happy. The person could experience more sadness if he chose to be tickled by wins alone. Gamblers must pay attention to these two factors and get acquainted with losses.

The problem problem comes from  greediness , desire for more after some wins .
Well, it's okay to desire for more but you have your profit already and still want more and more , IMO there should be some return target profit according to the fund use for gambling  and once its acquired you could pause it to play next time or you could use out of your extra profit gained from it if you desire for more and if the opposite  comes set a point to pause gambling (for loss), with these you can make something out of gambling nor gambling it all with focus ,besides gambling should be taken as playing  for fun

Trying to chase loss is one of the easiest way of Lossing all you have left. The major fact about gambling is that, what is gone is gone. Just forget about the past and move on, that the only way you can gamble without putting too much of pressure to make sure you win a bet, is when you forget about the past and focus on the future. If you win consider it luck for the day and be excited for it rather than thinking of past loss.

Gambling should be done with caution, it's not bad to continue gambling when we are losing out, but the game should be limited and get stopped the moment we had set to stop gambling. No gambler that exceeds his gambling time, that'll get back home happy. As he'd lose out all his funds in the process. Hence, while chasing loss, it should be limited. That's till responsible gambling. It's only irresponsible when the gambler doesn't stop at a given time. The limitations could be on time or funds. Players should develop the need to stop playing the moment their designated amount for gambling has been exhausted. But moving ahead to deposit more money to gamble again isn't right. That's a sign of addiction. A gambler should be contented with what he's got, not to get passed it. They'll be no fun losing out all our funds in one session. It's painful and would leave the gambler worried for some days, which is a new stage of anxiety. That's not worth the stress, when we have the control to stop playing earlier when things have not gotten out of hand. However, some gamblers still lack the orientation to follow good and responsible ethics.

I’ve got a rule: if a bet could potentially leave me in a tight spot, i'm out. It’s all about playing it safe, keeping the stakes low and the safety net intact.

When it comes to a risky bet, i’d rather pocket what i have than gamble it away. Security over the thrill, every time.

Diversity in methods and strategies is what made gambling unique, people have a unique gambling perspective. Your technique is great, but it's not completely fair for everyone to gamble this way. For instance, they are players who would want to stake more and earn big. Taking profits is fine and shows responsible gambling, but why most people don't do this is because of their gambling schedule. Gamblers will still wager back to the casino, hence they prefer leaving the profits on the site, to gamble some other times. Taking profits is like eating money meant for gambling. Though it's a nice idea, but removing all of it, is more stress. When gambling, I'd prefer to save up the profit for my next session. Then spend my normal funds, that's not meant for gambling. I acknowledge the fact you're focused on staying responsible. That shows how careful every gamble should be regarding their money. But while we take any decision in gambling, we need to think it through. Do I have any need to wager again anytime soon, after eating up my profits? If yes, then it doesn't make any difference. Don't know if you get my idea.
