http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-07-03/greek-banks-considering-30-haircut-deposits-over-€8000-ft-reports

Malicious rumour apparently. Its like watching boxing this!

It's possible that these rumors will become reality within a few days. It happened in Cyprus before. Greece is in serious trouble without continued emergency support from the ECB.

If this happens a second time, it will have an increased psychological impact. Savers all across Europe will take out money from the banks... this could start a chain reaction.

rumors = reality soon. just look in the history books.

The victors write the history books. If the yes vote wins a 30% haircut is more likely if you consider things rationally. Probably less so with a no vote.

I am sure not 100% of rumours materialise to be true.

Any free online newspapers reporting this yet?
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the reason why Satoshi didnt use his 500k-1Million Bitcoins on: July 03, 2015, 10:03:13 PM
In the year 2141 the first transaction from one of satoshi's addresses will be made. The world will go crazy. The prices which people have become accustomed to paying in BTC will sky rocket. People will die because they can't afford bread any more. People will curse their BTC and blame the generation before for handing down to them this pesky digital nothingness which has been their main motivation in life for so long. Conspiracy theories will be rife, conflict will be at it's maximum. This is life.

If this comes true and you come across this post in 2141, put me on the news and say nice things.
Not gonna happen. Skynet altered the Bitcoin protocol to make satoshi's coins unspendable by sending back cyborgs from 2140 to 2016 to replace the Bitcoin core developers.

Haha. Nice imagination Smiley

387  Economy / Economics / Re: Why PEOPLE are so dumb ? (Greek Paypal/Banks closed) on: July 03, 2015, 01:20:46 PM
In Greece :
- banks don't work
- paypal don't work
- money paper is useless after 3 months (it destroy itself because of the poor quality of paper)

Result :
- people can't spend her money (real money from life economies)
- or pay workers at the beginning of month.

Bitcoin solve this definitvely.  Tongue

WHY WHY WHY people are so dumb to accept that gov close banks ... ?  Angry
WHY WHY WHY this country don't have see this after 2013 Cyprus event ?  Angry

Argentina CLONE SITUATION.

 Sad

It isn't a decision an individual can make on his own. He needs to transact with others. If the rest of the population are not using bitcoin, little can be done. Also, I don't believe bitcoin is ready to support a population of 10 million people today.

i was talking about this a few days ago and now i found a website saying same stuff in 2014. Guys please watch the second video, its a few min long and has a speech from imf christina laguarde.
jadehelm coming in less than 2weeks says to me usa/israel is preparing for a major catastrophe, uk has been running anti-terror excercises in london involving thousands of police, medics etc,  greece exit will trigger some major events.
https://www.dollarvigilante.com/blog/2014/09/12/god-has-chosen-an-exact-date-for-the-dollar-collapse-harbing.html
the video she gives a secret date- guess what happened on the week of that date...http://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-transcript-july-20-2014-n160611 , 17 07 2014( drop the 0 like she said gives u 777 and is the day they crashed the boeing 777? )

i think im going crazy, Huh
what i am have found out recently is not coin related but i think will affect everyone single one of us, if you have a a few spare minutes please read this - http://www.xat.org/xat/worldbank.html  ,
here is one fact in this eye opening read " In 1933 new President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a bill forcing all the American people, to hand over all their gold at base rate, or face 10years jail , $10000 fine or both " ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102 ) - if this was to happen today what would happen...  http://american3rdposition.com/wp-content/uploads/Jade-Helm-Martial-Law-WW3-Prep-Document-1.pdf  - maybe this is why jadehelm is going to begin soon (15th july 2015 and ends in the same week as the shemitah 7 year cycle, 2008 gave us biggest economic crash ,2001 we got 9/11 )
greece exit could be the trigger for them to put the debt on our heads ..( again just like 1933) and with BRICS bank IMF will be needing to stock up to match them since they have all the gold.
I think im gonna stock up on gd anon coins.

You can scare yourself to death with this stuff. Can you forsee governments demanding bitcoins be handed over in return for a base rate of fiat with similar threats if you do not?
389  Economy / Economics / Re: Your thoughts on Greece? What's the most likely outcome in your opinion? on: July 03, 2015, 10:20:53 AM
It seems like Greece is heading to the referendum no matter what. As a Greek myself I wonder what others think of the current situation the country is in.
I'm from the UK. Our media shows unhappy queues of people at banks complaining. Some say Tsipras is our saviour, others say he has lost all credibility. To be honest I don't know what it's like for you over there? Are you ok? Are you still able to get the food you want? Are you able to cook it at home? Is the electric still on? Do your taps still release drinking water? Is there violence on the street? Does the bank holiday mean you are off work? Are you worrying? Are you relaxed? I'd love to know.

We're doing ok from what I see. There are no notable riots, no violence on the streets. So I'm confident that the worst has been avoided (for now). Of course, there are capital controls imposed. There are some side effects by this as expected but luckily businesses, companies etc. still have the ability to work normally. Transfers within the country are allowed so we individuals can pay for the essentials with cards. Cash withdrawals are limited to 60 EUR per atm card per day. I'm mostly sad about the pensioners that didn't receive their full payment at the end of the month from the state. However, what's most concerning for me right now is the propaganda that is literally everywhere. I'm disappointed by both private media and the Government because they both fail to be objective about the referendum. There was some effort from the Government to give people the whole picture, but I just can't ignore the fact that Syriza is openly urging people to vote no.

It is interesting that the private media is at loggerheads with the government. I can understand why Tsipras is urging a no vote. It is just like another election for him and election campaigns tend to lead to party leaders saying vote for me, don't vote for them because blah blah blah. Tsipras has made it in to an election campaign by announcing he will not continue in office if there is a yes vote. Tsipras Vs Europe, and you don't yet know the face of the Europe representative you will get if you vote yes. This is a great test for Europe. They get to see how many people will vote for them when their representative isn't even known yet.

Once again it is a case of picking your master and the candidates are flexing their muscles.

This is the scary part:
http://www.ekathimerini.com/198816/article/ekathimerini/business/importers-protest-delays-in-getting-approval-for-transactions

Greek companies basically not able to purchase imported goods from funds being frozen.

Enter the fear. "Greece choose yes and your food will continue." The one thing that fiat does spectacularly well is provide order, I can't emphasize the word 'spectacular', enough. It truly is spectacular how well human beings serve each other in return for the promise of a transaction. Take away the ability to transact and you take away the motivation for one human being to serve another. Transacting is key.

Alani123 I hope everything turns out alright for you. It is nice to hear the thoughts of someone living in Greece.

If Greece asks for a loan from Turkey (that Turkey can give if Tsipras asks formally) Then Turkey can loan Money to Greece.
(Ps: If Greece defaults loan from Turkey, Then We'll get some of your islands Grin )

I thought about this. If average Joe defaults on his mortgage he loses his house. 2 strikes is typical. Is there anything in the IMF terms what happens in the event of default. Seems a standard thing to put in to a loan agreement. Could the IMF take some land?

I recognise names from sellers on LBC. Maybe they have change and started operating like LBC. It says send money direct to broker, not to their bank in estonia.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin was accepted everywhere would you use it? on: July 02, 2015, 11:02:06 AM
well bitcoin will become avaible in shops on the next years its a question of time, low business will accept it then medium and then the big ones soo we would be able to spend our bitcoin as we do with fiat.
What will motivate small businesses in to accepting bitcoin?

well is very easy the fee that whoo sell pays to banks when receives money from credit or debit, most people nowadays doesnt use fiat directly they prefer use the card already more secure.

The difference in fee has existed for some time. It hasn't been enough to motivate small business (perhaps a handful) as of yet so what is the spark this time?

Just to discuss Greece - why the hell would any other country in the eurozone want Greece to stay & grant them another bail out etc?

It seems very, very counterproductive, it's like giving another mortgage to a guy who can't pay the mortgage on his current property, the answer is known before you even ask the question - he is going to default again & again & again.

Perhaps the lender is eyeing up taking the mortgagees property.

They can't pay back what they owe now, why give them even more?

Can any country pay back what they owe now?

396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will greece/europe pull a rabbit out of the hat? on: July 01, 2015, 07:38:13 PM
I don't think there were much reasons to pull our any kinda shit out of the hat, as it will come back hit it on their face itself. Greece will keep asking for bailouts and keep asking for more money and why would the euro zone like to deal with that kinda shit? What do you do with a guy who owes you money and keeps asking for more? Either beat the shit out of that guy and get the money or just stop seeing that guy around.

I think this is appropriate with the average man on the street, but politicians are not average men. One can assume that they are all familiar with the fiat scam and if you happen to be the guy that has drawn the short straw at that moment in time that has to deliver some bad news to your citizens and ask/tell them to accept further hardships, then you might a) ensure you are personally rewarded favourably before doing so or b) refuse to deliver.

The leaked letter shows Tsipras is still negotiating and prepared to deliver some bad news to his citizens.... you know what? I am out of my depth. Who the fuck knows?

398  Economy / Economics / Re: imagine of Greece adopted bitcoin on: July 01, 2015, 03:09:13 PM
Greece's current GDP is $241 billion. To bring it down to the bitcoin currency, it would require each Bitcoin to account for $17591 of transactions per year, value each Bitcoin at $1759 or around 55 TIMES ITS VALUE! With the assumption that greeks use the currency and not the world, which is impossible. Greece is undergoing internal devaluation as a consequence of an overvalued currency,it would be fucking stupid to adopt a currency that was bound to increase in value by 55x as a consequence of them starting to use it.
As it is a global currency, would it not also be the case that they would increase their GDP by 55x in doing so?
If they could cheaply buy gold, knowing that it would go up 5500% straight after, that would be a pretty good reason to buy gold!

How would a country go about adopting bitcoin anyway? They couldn't buy on exchanges, how could they acquire the starting currency?

In fantasy world i guess they would just close the banks and advise their citizens to exchange their labour for bitcoin. Batshit crazy.

If they're using voting-computers it's easy to say that the outcome will be 'no'.

Or yes depending on the direction the producers of this soap opera want things to go.
