381  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 21, 2024, 07:28:49 PM
Now, to that, add that we've lost valuable members, some of which were intellectually influential, and you have an Internet board filled with mostly crap. What's the problem?
The only member that we lost recently is o_e_l_e_o, or who else? But I noticed that some members are not active like before on technical boards. Some people still see this forum educative and interesting. If mixers were not banned on this forum, many people will still later not post again. Be it as it may be now, there will surely be changes. Many people that were here in 2012 were not here in 2018 when Leo joined this forum. Many of us posting today also may no more be here in the next 5 to 10 years.
382  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 2FA wallet on Blockstream Green wallet on: May 21, 2024, 01:26:50 PM
There are two types of multi sig wallet offered by Blockstream wallet which are Standard Accounts (2-of-2) and 2-of-3 Accounts.
I am not asking if there are two types of multisig wallet on Blackstream Green, I am referring to 2 of 2 wallet. You can know that I explained it already that we know the mechanism 2 of 3 multisig is working but I want to know about 2 of 2 multisig. The question is that if it is 2 of 2, that what mechanism will be used to spend from it if you lost the 2FA because there is no way you can use Blockstream server to sign the  PSBT transaction.

Suppose you lost your recovery seeds which is either 12 or 24 words seeds. In that case, I don't think there is any way that you can access the funds even though the standard 2 of 2 wallet disabled if there is no transactions made in 1-year time frame it becomes a regular wallet this means you can access the funds with only 12 or 24 words seeds that you supposed to keep safe.

Without seeds, there is no way you can recover anything and I bet Blockstream doesn't have backup of your seed words.
I am not saying if someone lost the seed phrase. What I am asking is if the wallet will turn to 1 of 2 or a single public key wallet? I think nc50lc understand what I am talking about. I will prefer to stick to 2 of 3 multisig.

If you create a 2 out of 3 multisig account, then you don't need Blockstream's help and signing keys to make transactions. You'll have two keys with the needed privileges to spend your coins. But with a 2 out of 2 wallet, you also need Blockstream's signature. There is a timelock period with these wallets. The 2FA will remain active if you make at least one transaction within 12 months approximately. If not, the timelock will expire, and you can spend from the wallet using ONLY your key.

You can read more about it here:
https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us/articles/900001391763-How-does-Blockstream-Green-s-2FA-multisig-protection-work
I knew, all the explanations can easily be seen on the wallet. I know that I can be able to recover it but with a tool.

If you click on the recovery tool in green, it will take you to the tool on GitHub. The question is that how is the tool working? I know that I can use the tool for the recovery if the time I set for it without spending has passed.

If it's the script that they used, after an approximate of 360 days,
you can spend the output(s) as a simple single-sig (CHECKSIG) without even requiring Blockstream's public key like that of a 1-of-2 MultiSig.
If this is the case, the answer is closer to "it become Single Sig" than "it become 1-of-2 MultiSig".
Another thing that I guess is that the tool can be used to recover the second private key instead of using Blockstream server for the signing, making it possible for the person to be able to use the key that the server supoose to use for the signing.

Thank you all for your answers.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 21, 2024, 01:00:17 PM
What skills?
Yes skill. There are skill based casino games some examples are poker and blackjack which I know of very well. In these games of skill you require the strategic thinking and decision-making skill. You also require card counting skill as well as the skill to outsmart whoever you are playing against.
Skills means the ability too do something excellently. Example is Messy that is skilled in football. It can be something that you learn and know how to do well. But should we apply it in gambling? I will say no because the more you play the games in casino or betting, you will notice that the gambling sites are only setting things up in a way that you will be the one that is losing. So what is the skills in that when their are house edge and unfavorable odds?
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If this is doable what will you add or remove? on: May 21, 2024, 12:15:10 PM
If possible and a proposal accepted to not let the memepool to be higher than 10 sat/vbyte and almost all the time staying at 1 sat/vbyte. This would be what I will first prefer to do, making bitcoin transaction fee to the low almost all the time. This should be done in a way that those bitcoin tokens will not even affect it.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Religion. Beliefs or Choices? on: May 21, 2024, 11:58:15 AM
In my opinion, any religion does not approve of gambling. In Christianity, there is a rule: “You cannot serve God and mammon." Why does a person come to a casino? To win a certain amount of money, and accordingly, he gives in to the sin of love of money. I think all other religions also have the same resonance with the desire to become rich. But we are people, and we are all not without sin; we play and lose and have many vices that tempt us. However, firstly, do not lose your human face, and being human, no one can be honest and judge our sins as soon as we do.
There are three categories of gamblers according to Buddhism.  Recreational gambling is not a sin in Buddhism.

Quote
However, we might say that there are three types of gambling Ý recreational, habitual and addictive. The first type is when someone occasionally plays cards for small stakes or buys a lottery ticket to support a charity. Habitual gambling is to gamble a significant but manageable percentage of one's income on a regular basis. Addictive gambling is the inability to resist the opportunity to gamble and thus be constantly in debt. From a Buddhist perspective, recreational gambling would be considered harmless and not against the Precepts

It is good the ways that gambling is like a sin in religion, but it should not be forbidden because as gambling can be bad, it can also be good for some people. If I am gambling and I am able to control myself and be using small amount of money, gambling is not a sin for me. But if I am getting addicted, I should know I have to quit. Not because of religion but because of my future.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never borrow money to be able to gamble on: May 21, 2024, 07:19:22 AM
I would add to the OP's post: don't lose your mind when playing; otherwise, the game will shake you out of everything you have, and you can become addicted, which will also be very expensive to recover from.
It is not even that it can be expensive to recover losses, most gamblers will lose and never recover the money lost to gambling back. Few may be able to recover the money but they will start losing again. The more someone is frequent in gambling the more the person is likely to lose. Anyone that is addicted will lose often and be using almost all or all the money he has in bank or wallet to gamble. What I have noticed more about gambling is that the gambling platforms set the risks and the odds in a way only them would be favored. You can see the casinos and other gambling platforms that are increasing in traffic on their website getting richer day by day because gamblers are losing.

Un_rank has given you good links to read. Read and understand it. Among the links, these are the most important ones:

Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit
Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)

You can go to Meta and Beginners & help boards and read the pinned threads. They are also among the pinned threads. Go to other boards to read their pinned threads also.
388  Other / Meta / Re: Request that the Best exchange thread be locked already. on: May 20, 2024, 12:05:53 PM
Bestchange is still visiting the thread and I still see him online today. There are few other threads that some people are posting to receive merit. That is a campaign thread and it should be left alone for Bestchange to decide what to do. Do not take merit too serious because people that are posting good will be the one that will rank higher on this forum. Merit system is doing what it is intended for but some people like you are taking it too serious.
389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Read Well and also think we'll before you respond to post. on: May 20, 2024, 11:08:35 AM
I can see many Rollbit participants trying eagerly not to get removed by your campaign manager as he wants to reshuffle, but it is better you bring a very good topic.

Secondly, when someone have written what you want to write in same thread you have to give off, instead of making a pointless point, I know very well that many users in forum make off topic because what I outlined.
Repetitive posts are not an off-topic posts but they are not worth it at all. Most threads on this forum supposed to be locked before page 2. This would be able to solve repetitive posts.
390  Bitcoin / Wallet software / 2FA wallet on Blockstream Green wallet on: May 20, 2024, 10:58:43 AM
On Election 2FA wallet, you can bypass the TrustedCoin by using 2 of your keys for signing transaction. It is a 2 of 3 multisig wallet. But Green 2FA wallet is made up of 2 of 2. It has a tool that can be used to bypass the Blockstream server after the time set for 2FA is over, but it is 2 of 2. I want to know if the recovery tool is used, the wallet will still remain 2 of 2 or become 1 of 2 when the 2FA is disabled.
391  Economy / Services / Re: Need people with fee time on: May 20, 2024, 10:04:33 AM
I need a better proposal for this kind of offer before I can telegram you. I can work for you but what is the duration of the work and how much are you willing to pay? You need to talk about these on your post to let anyone that is willing to send you message on Telegram. It would be good if you are also going to use escrow for the payment gateways because some people will give an offer but they will not message again.
392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CEX P2P under Governments Attack, let's Embrace DEX P2P on: May 20, 2024, 09:21:55 AM
That post was done when some other centralized exchanges were still there and after the update some like KuCoin were filtered out. Maybe it is now taking a long time again that they updated it and most of the DEX then have moved to become CEX.
The decentralized exchanges did not become centralized exchanges, they are centralized before. If they call themselves decentralized exchanges, make research yourself to know if it is true or not true. Just like I have said before, the site is KYCnotme, it is about exchanges that needs no KYC to access. If Kucoin did not make their customers to get verified, the exchange will still be there but with average rating.
393  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CEX P2P under Governments Attack, let's Embrace DEX P2P on: May 20, 2024, 08:55:10 AM
Should we say they wouldn’t stop at nothing to actually get bitcoin or cryptocurrency at large under their control, they have basically moved from banning to restrictions and vice versa. They started with mining rig banning, moved to mixers and now I think they are banning P2P trading on centralized exchanges.
I guess you people that have banning of P2P exchanges that are centralized in mind are from Nigeria. What most countries want is KYC. If you abide to the laws and policies of the country and tell your customers to do KYC, you will have no problem with the government if cryptocurrencies are legal in your country. But Nigeria is different as the government do not understand how to manage the economy. Nigeria is one of the worst country that do not understand the impact of P2P and how it can help them to generate income.

The problem was that Kycnot.me did included this centralized exchanges at first as decentralized exchanges mainly because they didn’t require KYC then to trade on them. This exchanges moved on over to getting people verify their KYC example is KuCoin but the site (kycnot.me) didn’t update the site for a while. The developer of the site had to come down here to clarify that.

I Can’t seem to find his post again. Will update the link if I do

Here is the post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5458584.msg62679538#msg62679538
This link you provided is old because I can see the site has been updated. There are still centralized exchanges on the site but no requiring KYC. The site is about no KYC exchanges and not decentralized exchanges. Decentralized exchanges require no KYC which is the reason you also see them among.

Other Decentralized Exchanges

Warning! You may have to DYOR before using anyone on this category, some of them still uses central serve, check their list here.
https://www.alchemy.com/best/decentralized-exchanges-dexs
These all aren't decentralized exchanges, they're P2P service that connected to centralized server, the only decentralized exchange is Bisq, the rest are centralized. Bisq users don't need to worry if the government ban the sites, as long as people already download and installed the exchanges, no one can't shut down the server except there's no internet connection.

It's misleading, better to check the exchanges on kycnot.me
I can remember that kycnot.me included Kucoin, Agoradesk, Localmonero and many other centralized exchanges. Many centralized exchanges are claiming that they are decentralized but they are centralized.

Some people even think exch.cx is decentralized which is also included on kycnot.me but that is not true, it is an instant exchange and it is centralized. Only very few exchanges are making use of nodes instead of central server. A good example of decentralized exchange is Bisq.network that does not depend on a central server while most other exchanges are centralized or have a bit of centralization.

People should not get it wrong. kycnot.me means exchanges that does not require KYC and not exchanges that are decentralized.
395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Autotrading system on: May 19, 2024, 04:57:46 AM
Using it won't guarantee you profit. Don't get into that misconception because if these automated trading is a certain profit maker, many have already used them and became rich now on.
Bots are not better than humans. They have their errors also and they can make poor decisions which can lead to losses also. Bots should be used for making trading easier and not a way to make profit from trading.

Please keep in mind that automatic trading doesn't mean the bot will decide every trade. As a trader it only helps making trade faster and easier with the set of guidelines provided by the trader. It does increase the chance of earning profits but the decision to invest and exit has to be taken by the trader operating the bot. It is not an AI that takes all decisions in account to make a successful and profitable trade.
You can make bots to decide every trades for you but not a way of increasing trading profit. Trading is risky and bots do not decrease the risks.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 18, 2024, 01:54:42 PM
You have the verb to teach you have teacher, you teach physics (noun) then physicist
A physicist is a scientist who specializes in the field of physics while those that teaches physics can be called physics educator or physics teacher. I am not saying what you explaining is not right as you are using them as examples. According to your explanation, Bitcoiner is not correct, it is Bitcoinist?
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is the right Name to use? on: May 18, 2024, 01:16:03 PM
I think Bitcoinist can be good for someone that went through a professional study of bitcoin. But there is nothing called Bitcoinist as of now. I will prefer Bitcoiners for those that are holding bitcoin and for those that are bitcoin enthusiasts.

399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs daily discussion on: May 18, 2024, 12:47:04 PM
Bitcoin ETF is nothing that special that is worth a thread but if you feel like having a thread for it, it should be better than how your post is. see an example from this future bitcoin ETF topic

Everything you wanted to know about a future Based ETF and were afraid to ask!

I think you will need to edit the OP and first explain what bitcoin spot ETFs are.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 18, 2024, 11:37:41 AM
I think the match is some hours to come. Fury has remain unbeatable and I read that Usyk has been unbeatable also but we all respect the more success of Fury. I would wish someone among them should become the winner of this coming match. If anyone among them would be the winner, I will say the unbeatable days of Fury is over as I guess that Usyk would be able to defeat him today. I go for Usyk.
