381  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you still use Banks ? on: December 13, 2023, 05:42:56 PM
As long as fiat money is still a legal tender and generally accepted for buying and selling, banks are going no where and would continue to be popular with anything relating to peoples finances.
As to poking people and terming anyone who uses banks as old, it’s only stupid to ditch the formal and most used method of financial transactions around the earth.
Banks are still reliable as they’re still needed and widely used today.

i told my bank If you not give me loans or credit i dont need you and i close it

This seems to be your grievance with the bank. You’re probably not eligible and I’m pretty sure the bank probably won’t notice and likely won’t care to see you leave either.

382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 13, 2023, 02:17:30 PM
How can a businessman want to commit suicide? become a businessman need a strong mentality and able to accept anything unpredictable that could happen, gambling on the other hand is predictable, the result is either lose or win.

I guess gambling isn't the only reason why he want to commit suicide, but gambling is just make him feel really sad.

It’s quite strange. A business person shouldn’t be a stranger to risks and losses and a loss even through gambling shouldn’t be any different. There may be more to the story cause the victim should have known that with gambling, you either win or you lose. And as a business man, he should have known better than to play around with money meant for something else.
It’s a sad tale that has been once again, attributed to gambling. And I guess it continues to portray the dangers that lurk within compulsive gambling.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 13, 2023, 01:02:39 PM
What can actually shorten the time one spends on gambling is the amount that they go with to the casino. For example, if I want to gamble with $100 and I only go out with $100, definitely that's what I will only spend there, and if the money is exhausted, I will just have to return home. But what compulsive gamblers do is either take a loan from their friend in order to keep on gambling or they will definitely find a means to continue with their gambling, which will actually be usual if they have plans to shorten their gambling time.

Going with a certain amount of money to the casino wouldn’t make just anyone shorten the time to be spent at the casino. There are people who lack time management or/and are weak willed. After planning from home to play with a set amount of money, such individuals get there only to get overwhelmed by it all. After playing and probably losing all the money he came with, as there are sure to be ATM machines in and around the casinos floor, it wouldn’t be difficult to reach into your bank accounts to withdraw some more money to play with.
I think a lot of people lack self discipline to make a plan and actually stick to it.
384  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 13, 2023, 11:36:36 AM
In my opinion, it is natural for parents to spoil their children because it is the right of parents who want their children to be happy. It's just that if they are spoiled excessively of course it's not good because it's likely that later they will depend more on their parents, by never having their own responsibilities, and of course this is not good.

I also don't think I can blame the parents entirely, because it's a common thing for all parents. If the children have a good mindset, maybe they can reject the spoiled actions of their parents and learn to be independent. So if they themselves have their own sense of responsibility I think they will learn everything independently.

How a child turns out to be later in his adulthood majorly has to do with his upbringing. And it’s the job of the parents/guardians to bring the child up right and straight.
It’s not natural for parents to spoil their children just cause they want their child to be happy. Parents who needlessly bend over to make their child happy always is cultivating irresponsibility in that child.

How can a child suddenly have a good mindset? When the child has been used to the good life, getting and fulfilling whatever desires that comes to mind. How can that child suddenly start to reject all the luxury given by the parents and strive to live responsibly and independently?
The parents of a child are a huge influence on how the child later turns out to be.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: December 13, 2023, 04:29:41 AM
The importance of gambling to society can be viewed from various activities, and opinions on this matter may vary. Here is a major point in people often consider when discussing the potential importance of gambling. The potential importance of gambling is a Social and Recreational Activity. For many people, gambling is a form of entertainment and recreation. It can be a social activity, providing a platform for people to gather, socialize, and enjoy themselves. Some argue that responsible gambling can be a leisure activity that contributes to overall well-being.

I don’t see any way gambling contributes to the overall well-being of a person no matter how responsible the person gambling is, but I’m open to your thoughts on how it can. As you noted, some people do take gambling as a social and recreational activity and not necessarily as a means of earning an income.

And for those who take gambling as a social/recreational activity, the persons involved can get together and while playing, could talk and catch up and just generally socialize.
I wouldn’t exactly call it a benefit to society as it doesn’t extend these so called benefits to the general public and only those who gamble can reap its benefits if any.
386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nobody is above the law on: December 12, 2023, 03:00:00 PM
Have you truly been very observant like you said, on things that go down on the forum? I doubt it. If you have been,  you would know that punishments for breaking the law are treated case by case.
Although the punishments for breaking a rule is stated, the enforcers of the rules, being human and with a heart and brain can decide to punish mildly or ignore totally as they deem fit. It depends on the circumstances of the case and the forum member that’s involved. Like you correctly noted, we do make mistakes as humans.
But on a general basis, the rules are pretty much enforced and quickly too. And for the most part, no one is above the law.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 12, 2023, 01:42:22 PM
Ten Hag deserves more time at Manchester United to prove himself. He came in last season and finished in the top 4. He won silverware for the club. Yes he bought players he thought was good but it didn't turn out the way he expected, not all market turn out well. He should be given more time to show his working.

I don’t know how much time Ten Hag would seemingly deserve to prove himself at the club. He wasn’t picked as the coach yesterday and he has had in my opinion, enough time to study and understand the capabilities of all his players on the team. Apparently enough time to know and go after players he thought was best to achieve his goals as a manager for the club.
I’m not rooting for his removal as the coach, but I think he has had enough time on the job for his plans to start to show some general improvement in the team.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 12, 2023, 12:56:38 PM
I agree with the OP. The shorter the time allocated to gambling, the better for the individual as he’s not likely to get addicted to gambling any time soon.

Asides having a specific amount set aside to gamble with whenever you visit the casino or play online with, it’s also important to regulate our time spent playing. Having spent all the amount put aside for gambling, anyone would be tempted to reach into his savings to play some more. Hence the need to regulate and be disciplined in your time and money.

Why do you think casinos don’t have wall clocks on their floor? Much better to keep their players ignorant and less aware of the time as they continue spend their monies playing.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 11, 2023, 07:45:42 PM
How ironic when diversifying your investment is exactly the same reason as what you have in your statement, "not every altcoin in the market is capable of pumping". However there those that are capable of multiplying your capital. None of these coins you are certain with or none of the investors knew what happens with a specific coin. Diversification isn't the problem, choosing the right coin is, that why we need to diversify to try not to miss anything that will pump in the future.

Choosing the right investment opportunity is what people have failed to do and end up getting financially screwed when the chosen investment fails and their money goes down the drain.
It’s always best to spread out your investments and not to dwell on just one source. But what people mainly fail to do whenever choosing through available investments options is their thorough research on their viability.
There are some good alt coins that has shown some promise and made some profit for some people who were willing to take the risk. We shouldn’t also forget that no matter how profitable an investment may seem to be, there’s always a possibility of it failing.
390  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: December 08, 2023, 12:12:14 PM
In my opinion, we have no other choice than to massively introduce renewable energy sources and try to replace traditional ones with them - oil, gas and coal, which cause irreparable damage to the environment and dramatically change the climate on our planet. Talk about it being expensive, difficult and not so fast is absolutely unfounded. After all, we are actually talking about the survival of humanity.
In addition, alternative energy sources have been developed relatively recently, but are being improved at a rapid pace and their cost is falling. I think that over time they will almost completely replace traditional fossil energy sources and this will be very cool.

We’ve got little choice than to get used to these renewable sources of energy if we want to have enough to fulfill our energy needs in the distant future. These fossil fuels can be depleted and it takes a really long time for it to build up again.

Sources for these renewable energy may be difficult and expensive to put up but what good project isn’t? And I bet these calls for it being so expensive are made by oil companies and its allies to dissuade the general public from buying into the idea of switching from the traditional energy source to these energy sources that can be renewable and used.
Making the switch to renewable energy sources is in a way, inevitable. But with humans, we’ll naturally be resistant to change.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: December 08, 2023, 10:54:43 AM
What do you all think?

Many people can profit from gambling but in my opinion it should not be considered as a main source of income because it is a place where you may earn a lot today and it may be gone tomorrow.

So it is better to take gambling as a means of extra income without taking it professionally because you can become rich with the extra income you get from it but gambling is a dangerous platform so be careful for gambling site.

In my opinion, it shouldn’t be considered a source of income at all cause it literally isn’t. Anything considered a source where you earn money should at the very least, be reliable. Money won from gambling isn’t reliable as it doesn’t come often. It doesn’t come when you want or need it so I don’t see gambling as a source where one could earn money.
If one is looking to earn some extra money, that person should get a side job where the paycheck would actually be steady and reliable. It’s better to look to gambling as an activity rather than a job. The win is more enjoyable then.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 08, 2023, 08:20:08 AM
If you want to be rich sell to rich kids.

Well obviously, rich people make a much better clientele. They’ve got the money to pay and some are wealthy enough or carefree not to care much even if the price has been inflated threefold.

Admittedly, a large number of homeless people in the street are from rich families that had made poor financial and life decisions. Likely got addicted to drugs and would slowly drift far away from their home and their parents. These are people that have always gotten it easy in life and has had all their wants and needs provided. Having not had to be responsible for anything while growing up, it would not be so easy to face the reality ofthe common man when the funds and flamboyant lifestyle ends.

While a bunch of rich kids out there are not morally nor financially responsible, there are still some who have been brought up straight with the right morals instilled in them.
393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 08, 2023, 06:33:00 AM
Gambling, as an activity does have its fair share in the behavioral change of an individual. That’s if you allow it to have such an effect.
I think It’s only human nature to be happy when the good times comes rolling and quite sad and annoyed when it’s not so rosy anymore. That’s fine and expected. What isn’t expected or fine is taking out your annoyance on someone else(your family). This happens when you allow your emotions overwhelm you. We’re human and have/feel emotions whether you like it or not. It’s left for us to decide how best to show/channel such emotions.

You(OP) should get some help. You said it yourself that you’re addicted. If you want to keep your family happy and together, get some help that would help you quit your addiction.
394  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 05:24:43 AM
Retirement may not be on the top of people’s list anymore as you think as more and more people are choosing to remain working than to go into retirement. For fear of constant inflation, it could be harder for someone to comfortably retire as people presently are already on the hunt for second/side jobs in order to stay afloat to withstand the harsh and strong waves of inflation.

I too believe that a lot of people would opt not to work a day in their life but now has little choice than to work if that person wants to provide for himself.
For a comfortable retirement, you should have worked and earned a lot of money. Enough to take care of your personal and health needs and then some for whatever emergencies that may arise. That’s why people strive to get investments that could be bringing in income at regular intervals. That’s one sure way to comfortably safely retire without having to worry about inflation.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 07, 2023, 11:51:34 PM
Therefore, nobody should go beyond their financial limits, neither adopt a mindset that they aren't winning, because they aren't trying, as even if they were trying, most of them wouldn't win, anyway.

A lot of people feel kinda pressured to have such win themselves when they see huge wins being achieved from different people. Such pressure would only make one to go way beyond their financial limits in high and most times, unrealistic hopes and expectations of getting a positive outcome in gambling.
There are a very few stories of success and big wins gotten from gambling compared to the number of people who actually gambles. But apparently, those few stories are more than enough to keep the flames of hope in an individual, constantly burning.
396  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 07, 2023, 11:17:14 PM
Often, we're tempted by earning more, right?  People gamble when they do high-risk things like Pepe, Shib. They expect to earn more, but is it just about money? It might be the adrenaline rush, the story they'll tell, or the "I was there" badge. Humans don't always calculate profit and loss rationally. We dream, risk, and tell stories.

The second approach is learning from failures. These useless risks - aren't they the best teachers? Though not more money, may people gain experience, insights, and resilience? Sometimes the payback is wisdom, not riches, right? We often ignore intangible benefits. Thus, they won't leave empty-handed despite not winning the prize. They're wealthy than a balance sheet shows. Was that a loss?

We’re tempted at the prospect of earning more and sometimes, we’re in too much of a haste to put out money into investments that would have losses as the outcome later on.
It’s much better to learn and pick up lessons from the mistakes of others but having personal experiences of mistakes and failures can do the job as well.

And I agree. We often ignore and underestimate intangible benefits as we’ve paid too much attention to the physical ones we can literally see. Almost like having goodwill in your business. That’s an intangible asset any business would want to have and keep.
397  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 07, 2023, 10:51:41 PM
In everything there will definitely be irresponsible people, especially if the person has connections with officials or someone who has a high position in the company, of course it will be freer for them to do things that are actually very disgusting.

Just imagine when there are people who want to get a job to get money, they actually have to spend money first. I understand that in order to get money, something has to be sacrificed including spending money, but from your story it is tantamount to illegal actions and far from the rules and policies of a company.
However, it must be recognized that a high position and money will become something powerful, even though it is wrong.

You’re right. There would possibly be always irresponsible people in the society. And it’s sad that people who chose to be irresponsible in the workplace in most times than not, have a “friend” or knows someone higher up. Employees like these wouldn’t put in much effort for the success of the goals of the company.
Corruption is everywhere and it’s bad for any recruitment process as the suitable candidate would never be chosen for employment. And someone who haven’t earned the power and the responsibility of an office or a position and was simply placed there would go on to abuse such positions without actually getting anything done.

Even, this match ended with a score of 3-0. Newcastle lost very bad, even though they were favorites team in tonight match. With that bad result, right now I am doubtful in the next match Newcastle will be able to win against Tottenham.
On the other side, yes with Everton winning they now moved up to 17th position in the standings table. Maybe with Everton win tonight, their squad will also be motivated in the next match against Chelsea, to secure full points.

This was an unexpected loss for Newcastle. I didn’t think they could lose to Everton but they conceded 3 goals and lost. Newcastle had things going on well for them and more or less controlled the ball but couldn’t find even a goal. They had more of the ball within their possession but could not do enough worth it to score goals and win. It almost seemed Everton was the one who was hungry for the win. Looking at how many fouls Everton players committed as well as yellow cards given by the referee.
Everton stepped up late during the second half and scored their first goal. Not relenting, they rode on the momentum and scored two more goals, sealing their win.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 07, 2023, 05:12:47 PM
Manchester united did perform well in yesterdays game and did the unbelievable, they won Chelsea and also missed some chances which would have further increase rhe winning margin. Manchester united is now turning very unpredictable as you can't tell what they will be doing in their next match, ten hag had a better tactical approach this time and keep rashford on the sub bench was a good idea and I Still think there's an issue amongst them tho, even if ten hag continually claims all is well, buy the obvious is that he seem to be keeping something away from the media.

Manchester United had a good performance that resulted in the win over Chelsea. They could have played so much better and had some more goals scored as they had missed a lot of good opportunities. I didn’t think it was that unbelievable for United to have a win over Chelsea. In that game, I had kept an open mind as both teams aren’t that consistent in their performance for one to comfortably predict true outcome of their games.
But it was a bit obvious from the start of the game on the outcome of Manchester United claiming the win as from the start of the game, United had repeated opportunities but succeeded in only utilizing just two. And apparently, it was enough to get them the win over Chelsea which had a tough time chasing the ball and defending in that game.

What's really wrong with the city boys I don't seem to understand the issue with them, I thought city will definitely come with full force but no I predicted wrongly and am disappointed, let's no judge yet Aston might maintain the position for long.

I’m still at a loss at exactly what happened in that game as I had expected Manchester City to have won that game and kinda easily too. They didn’t play up to expectations and lost the match as a result. Aston Villa had some really good chances and it deserved the goal later scored in the second half of the game.
Looking at the statistics later on from the game, Aston Villa was more hungry for goals and it was shown with the attempts on goal and shots on target. I was totally surprised at the outcome of this game.
Manchester United on the other hand, had a good game as they faced with Chelsea and won.
