A draw against Torino is certainly very detrimental, especially since the next opponent they face is Inter Milan, which might be more difficult to beat. Now Napoli are in 7th place in the standings and it looks like they will find it difficult to penetrate the European zone.

Napoli are in a very difficult situation. It's going to be very difficult for them to make it to a European competition spot.
After scoring 6 against Sassuolo, and winning Juventus after that, I felt Napoli was getting their form back. I know they have the players and they just need to start winning again to get their confidence and form back. They didn't play well against Torino and made the mistake of conceding a few minutes after taking the lead.

I guess their Champions League second-leg tie against Barcelona is what's in their minds. They are in a very good position to knock Barcelona out because a lot of important Barcelona players are injured.
In the league, Napoli plays Inter next, that's a match they'll most likely lose because, with the current form of Inter, Napoli is in no shape to take a point from them. Then after Inter Milan, they'll face Atalanta. It's also a difficult match, but Napoli can win.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 09, 2024, 10:08:00 AM
Barcelona do not deserve to be in second, Girona deserve it more because they have really worked hard this season. Barcelona have just been disappointing, and their performance very unsatisfactory.

What does this even mean? How do you say a team does not deserve to be where they are? Were they given free points? Didn't they have to gain points to be at that level? You said Girona has worked hard, so what did Barcelona do? Just stay at home and was gifted 61 points?
If for anything Girona should be disappointed because despite how Barcelona has been inconsistent they're still fighting to get ahead of them.
Currently, Madrid is just 5 points above Barcelona, but Madrid is apparently the team that's in top form.

Saying Barcelona has been disappointing with their results is true because there are a lot of matches where they should have taken all three points but they failed to, but saying they don't deserve to be where they are is just false. With the kind of injuries Barcelona have had this season, they've had to fight really hard to be where they are.
383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who plays bigger role in crypto adoption: General public or government ? on: March 07, 2024, 11:09:15 PM
Between the government and the general public, I believe the government plays a bigger role in crypto adoption.
If the governments of the world were receptive to Bitcoin, I believe its adoption would have grown exponentially compared to what it is today.
In many countries today, we see governments making laws that are not so friendly to crypto users. This alone can discourage a lot of people from using crypto. People do not want to use a technology that would make the government see them as criminals.

If government organizations accepted crypto, even though they don't make it legal tender, but allow people to use it freely and accept it as a medium of payment if they wanted to, more people would use it, but in many countries, people don't disclose it openly that they use crypto because they'll look like criminals to the government.
384  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't understand you people... on: March 07, 2024, 10:46:38 PM
I don't understand what the fuss is about. What and who exactly are you angry about?
Aren't you supposed to be the one following the market? Is the market supposed to follow you? Where you made a loss is where someone else made a profit, so do you expect everyone to not buy or sell when they feel is okay for them for your sake?

Don't beat yourself up about it. All you have to do from your experiences is learn. Whether you made a profit or losses, you have to learn from the experience, and blaming others for your losses wouldn't teach you anything.
You have to sit down and analyze what you did wrong and what you could have done. Nobody predicts the market and gets it 100%, but with the right market analysis, you stand a higher chance of making a profit than losses.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: March 07, 2024, 10:34:11 PM
I can understand if De Zerbi could be destroyed by AS Roma.
The quality of his squad isn't as well as the AS Roma squad quality. And De Zerbi may use the wrong tactic in the match against AS Roma.
De Zerbi manages an average team like Brighton, it is different with Guardiola was managing a big team like Barcelona.
Anyway, I don't think De Zerbi needs to be the next Guardiola.  :

Excuses. The premier league is just not as difficult as people mae it seem. Everybody said Roma didn't stand a chance against Brighton. I remember saying here that both teams stand a chance to win. Even I didn't expect it to be so easy for Roma.
This further proves the misconception that the premier league is harder than other leagues.

Aston Villa couldn't score against struggling Ajax and West Ham too couldn't get a goal against Freiburg. But these are teams from the league that premier league fans say isn't good enough. Although Aston Villa and West Ham still have a slim chance to qualify, I think this is the end of Brighton's journey.

De Zerbi can't be the next Pep Guardiola. The next Pep Guardiola shouldn't be conceding 4 goals against Roma in the knockout stage of a European competition.
Arsenal too is another English team that should be careful in Europe. The fact that they're tearing things up in England doesn't mean they'll do the same in Europe. If they get overconfident Porto might just surprise them.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 07, 2024, 09:56:07 PM
Even if we consider Liverpool as a rich team but they are not going to have Xabi Alonso easily. In fact, Xabi Alonso is not a cheap option for any team and even if we consider Real Madrid as a team that wants to hire Xabi Alonso we can understand that are some teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid, and even Bayern Munich they are all linked to thing Spanis coach which can make the transfer much harder because regardless of dealing with Leverkusen to make them accept this deal, they have to race with beasts like Real Madrid for Xabi Alonso.
However, can't be sure if Xabi Alonso can still have a good performance in Liverpool or not if he leaves Leverkusen.

The way I see it, the safest option for Xabi Alonso is going to Bayern Munich. At Bayern Munich, he is guaranteed to have good players and play the kind of football that the club likes. The only challenge he'll face there is winning the Champions League league and as long as he does well in the competition he's good even if he doesn't win it.

Liverpool would be a gamble. Things could turn out fine or they could not. The expectation of filling Klopp's shoes is his biggest challenge. Klopp did so much for Liverpool, that pressure can be a problem for the next manager. Other than that, I feel Liverpool will be a good choice for him. They have a squad that he can work with and he can recruit some players from Leverkusen. Players like Floran. Liverpool has a less hostile environment to their coaches and is more patient with them.

Real Madrid to me will be a mistake. At Real Madrid, if you don't win the Champions League after 2 seasons the people are calling for your head. There is too much pressure on Real Madrid. Win a treble this year, if you don't win the league the next season, a faction of the fans are already against you.

Alonso's release clause is 30 million euros, that's big money but all of the three clubs can afford it so it might boil down to which team he prefers. The team that he likes the project the most.
It is also important to note that coaches that have been bought in this manner never do well in the clubs they go to.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: March 07, 2024, 12:22:06 PM
So the question now is: What could really put a gambler in such a situation, addiction, or greediness?

In this I'll blame the shop owner or whoever is responsible for booking the games. Why would he just keep booking different bets for a person without asking for money?
From my experience, without the money you won't get the ticket, so why would he allow the person to have different tickets at different times without asking for money?

This kind of case is actually common in my early days of gambling years ago. I see it happen a lot. It usually doesn't get to a point of involving the police because these guys are usually regulars are the gambling shop so they usually sort things out between themselves.

Gambling is an interesting thing, the more you do, the more you want to do it. So if you're not careful you might gamble more than you have on you if it's possible and be in a lot of debt. It doesn't necessarily have to be a gambling addiction or greed, it can happen when you're sucked into the moment and you forget yourself.
388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 06, 2024, 10:51:36 PM
I am not going to be talking about Madrid in the league too much again, because I feel they have already won the league title after defeating Girona in the second leg, instead, I am focusing on the Champions League since that is where they will have a difficult time. You can't predict who will win the trophy because anyone is performing well when the Chmapinos League competition is on.

I agree that Real Madrid are La Liga winners already even though they still have to work hard to win the league.
As for the Champions League, it's a very funny competition. The team you play and when you play against that team determine a lot.
Madrid has a chance to win the Champions League, a very big chance. They have a very experienced coach who knows how to win the UCL. He is the manager with the most UCL trophies. That aside, Madrid too knows how to win the UCL, but all this depends on the team they meet and when they meet them.

If Madrid meets a team like Manchester City again at a point when Man City are in hot form and Madrid is not in good form, they would most likely be eliminated by Manchester City again like it happened last season. Teams like Bayern and PSG too are teams that can knock out Madrid. Inter Milan too is a good team. They can knock out Madrid if they survive Atletico and meet Madrid. The Champions League is tough but the good news for Madrid is that it is these kinds of games that bring out the best in them.
389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 06, 2024, 10:37:52 PM
And as I go through what happened this time, I see more and more that a long-term investment approach is always the best approach when it comes to bitcoin.

This is something a lot of people take for granted. Bitcoin offers so much more and people are not taking advantage of it. Bitcoin makes it much easier for people to have an investment. It's actually one of the best forms of long-term investments. With Bitcoin, it can be a savings and also an investment. Imagine saving a percentage of your earnings every month for the next 4 years.

It's advisable for people to take advantage of the next bear market and buy BTC at lower prices. Knowing BTC it would be very difficult to predict how low it would get this time around but I believe if everything stays normal it won't get lower than $20k this time around.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 06, 2024, 10:17:54 PM
How do we regulate our emotions while betting and how important is it?

One way I feel we can regulate our emotions is by gambling responsibly. There are different ways of gambling responsibly. One way is gambling with what we can afford to lose. Secondly, we have to keep our gambling in check, we can place bets on everything, but we have to know what we're used to and stick to it. Try as much as possible not to go beyond your limit in both the money spent on gambling and the time.

When we gamble responsibly, we eliminate a lot of things. When we lose, we'll feel emotions of course, but it won't be that bad because we lost money that we can afford to lose.
When you gamble responsibly you'll understand that gambling is a game of chance. You win not only because you gamble well, but also because you got lucky. So we always have to remember that no matter how well we analyze the bet, luck must be on our side and we know that luck is not something control ourselves and since you have no control over luck, we don't have to be overconfident.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you worried about the US Government moving BTC? on: March 06, 2024, 10:06:09 PM
    • Will this event have a negative impact on BTC and the entire crypto market?

On its own, I doubt that it would have any significant impact on BTC or the crypto market, but when it happens together with a series of other events then it can have an impact. For example, if the US government decides to sell its Bitcoin when other whales are selling the collectively, they can have a negative impact.
Also, I said it won't have a significant impact, not like it would have an impact at all. In the middle of last year, the price dipped a bit but it was only for a short term, that could be for a whole lot of reasons, it could also be because of FUD, but eventually, the market corrects itself.

    • Are you worried and changed your investment strategy because of this event?

I wouldn't say "worried" but it's good to keep an eye out for the updates of such things.
These are events that can affect your investment so not paying attention to them is not a very wise thing to do. It doesn't necessarily mean you'll change your investment plans but it will help your investment decisions to be informed ones.
392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 06, 2024, 02:16:07 PM
That's not really a good thing for Bayern to be fair. You may think that every player wants to play there, but you do not realize what that causes and what that means. It means that everyone will want to play much better against Bayern so that they would be scouted and Bayern may end up getting them, so players will play their very best against Bayern, if you play against them and you suck, there is no way that they would buy you.

Teams indeed play their best against Bayern, not just because the players want to impress, but because it's a bragging right if you win against a team like Bayern. The same can be said about other LA Liga teams facing Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Bayern always ends u winning those teams most of the time. That goes on to show how hard they need to work to stay at the top. That is why I don't agree with people that try to belittle Bayern's achievements with excuses like "they play in an easier league".

Secondly, not like they are a poor club, so whenever someone is requested by Bayern, they end up asking for a lot more, if the same player is wanted by a team like Freiburg, there is a limit on how much they could want, but if Bayern wants them, they will want much more money than other teams.

This, I do not agree with. Bayern Munich doesn't buy players from other Bundesliga clubs for high prices. Look at the amount they got all the players from other Bundesliga teams, they're not expensive compared to when the clubs are selling to other big teams in Europe. Usually, Bayern don't even sign ridiculously expensive players. Kane is the first 100 million signing they've made.
393  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't trust your old wallet of when u had no Crypto knowledge on: March 05, 2024, 11:50:40 PM
Some bad people try to misguide newbies so they can get some advantage to scam them. They suggest they open an account on a phishing website and then steal their cryptos. So, newbies should discuss everything in public so the percentage of making mistakes can be reduced.

I agree with this. Even though in public they will get different opinions, people won't be able to deceive them into scamming them because others will see and point out that it's a scam.
This is a reason why newbies should be ready to read and research. Be it in private or public, when you hear something new try to read up on it and get a better understanding before deciding on the matter. Verify and ask questions from 2 other people to be certain.

I believe asking questions publicly is good because it can also benefit someone else. A lot of newbies have used their addresses for airdrops and clicked on different links and now they still use those same wallets and addresses to keep their coins. If something like this was discussed privately, I don't think they'd know that it's not safe.
394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 05, 2024, 12:20:29 PM
Previously every season we see if Dortmund are able to compete at the top of the Bundesliga standings with munchen, they continue to be able to be in 2nd or 3rd place in the standings but to be contenders for the championship of course we cannot expect more from Dortmund, so far they have not been able to break Bayern Munich dominance even when they have Halaand and Lewandowski as attackers,  None of us here doubt the ability of Haaland and Lewandowski to score goals, but Dortmund mentality  is like other mediocre teams who do not have a championship target every season.

One way or another we all knew Bayern Munich won't win the league forever. We all knew there would come a time when another club would take it from them. That team could have been Dortmund, but like you said, Dortmund doesn't have a big team mentality. It's almost like they're not ambitious enough.

Dortmund had a chance to win the league last season. They could have increased the gap between them and Bayern when Bayern was out of form, but they kept dropping points. It's worse that they couldn't win their final match at home. A match that would give them the league title. It's embarrassing.

Usually teams in the Bundesliga respect Bayern Munich too much. This may be a league problem because the other teams are not big enough so they can't keep big players. Every big player in the league dreams to play for Bayern Munich and that's why it's very easy for Bayern to easily buy the best players in the league.
I've seen reports that Bayern are interested in Xavi Alonso. There's a big chance that if he leaves Bayer Leverkusen, he might head to Bayern. That's the state of the league right now.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 05, 2024, 12:05:09 PM
However, this is not the time to be overexcited and get distracted, one among Liverpool and City will definitely drop points in the upcoming game and Arsenal will have the opportunity to slide upfront in the table if they win against Brentford. Enough records have been broken, it's time to start winning trophy too.

Then Arsenal won't drop points till the end of the season?
Either or both of Liverpool or Man City would likely drop points again before the season ends, but that would also mean Arsenal needs to keep a 100% record till the season ends, which is also very difficult.

Arsenal still have to play teams like Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all away from the Emirate stadium. Arsenal may seem to be blasting right now but these are going to be very difficult games.
Liverpool also have Manchester City to play. So the league is still very open for the top 3 teams to drop form.
I believe Manchester City will win the league. Their players are returning from injury and picking form at the very right moment.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 05, 2024, 11:40:52 AM
Liverpool isn't poor, but they're stingy.

There were many discussions that Liverpool lacks of play maker, people were want Musiala to join Liverpool. Actually they can, but why they sign Mac Allister and Szoboszlai? obviously they want to cut off the cost.

I don't believe Liverpool is poor, and I don't also believe they're stingy. They only make decisions based on their financial level. You don't expect them to take out $100 million to sign one player to fill where they don't need when they could sign 2 players they need with that money.

Musiala is not a playmaker. He's more of an attacking midfielder. That's not what Liverpool needed at the time. They needed central attacking midfielders. Midfielders that can dictate the tempo of the game. Midfielders that control the game and Mac Alister and Szoboszlai do exactly that.
Musiala is the kind of player that forces the attack. He is more like a De Bruyne profile, except he doesn't create as many chances as De Bruyne yet.
Musiala is the kind of player any team would want, but you can't sign him as a luxury signing when there are more important positions that are lacking in your team.
397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 05, 2024, 04:37:55 AM
I honestly never expected Bitcoin to almost surpass the previous ATH within such a short timeframe. On previous speculation threads, a large number of users, including myself, couldn't imagine seeing a new ATH anywhere before late 2024 or early 2025. It seems like everything happened so fast. I was projecting an average price of $50,000 until March or April; it seemed unrealistic to expect something larger than that. Well, I couldn't be more wrong.

We both had the same speculation. When Bitcoin got to 52k, I felt it would linger around that range till the halving, I was so wrong. I'm really surprised Bitcoin is pumping this much, it's been a while since this kind of thing happened with Bitcoin. I'm happy about this anyway.
If the bull run continues till 2025, then the people who speculated a new ATH of $200k may not be wrong, at this rate, BTC will get to $100k this year.
I believe BTC will get to $70k this week and see a new ATH.

I'm curious, though: what's making Bitcoin surge so fast? Is it the upcoming halving, the ETF approval, or possibly both? Even if that's the case, how do you explain such tremendous growth on such short notice?

I think it's both the ETF and the upcoming halving. ETF has created a lot of awareness for Bitcoin in its way and a lot of people are buying because of the fear of missing out. With the Bitcoin price constantly increasing, I believe the demand for Bitcoin will keep increasing and that will in turn keep pushing the price up.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 04, 2024, 12:38:26 PM
At the end of the season I think they will still be in 2nd place, behind Real Madrid, who as you say will win the title.

Somehow, at this point in the season, Barcelona seems to be in better form than Girona and that is the main reason why they'll finish ahead of them.
Barcelona have been very unlucky lately with injuries. I don't know if it's their medical team or lack of proper rotations but their players get too injured. Since Barcelona doesn't have the finances to assemble a big squad, every player is important to them and any player that's not available is an important player. Yester Frenkie and Pedri got injured. These are two of their best midfielders and players. I kind of feel sorry for them at this point. They also have to play Napoli in the UCL who seem to have gained form recently.

Aside from Injuries, inconsistencies are another problem for Barcelona. If Barcelona were consistent they would be fighting for the league now. They had the chance to close the gap between them and Madrid to 6 points yesterday but they didn't take it.
I agree that they'll finish ahead of Girona, but I don't see them topping Madrid and winning the La Liga.
    399  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 04, 2024, 12:25:24 PM
What do you think investing is?
Isn't investing simply having money or an asset somewhere with the hope that it grows over some time? If that is an investment, why do you believe Bitcoin is not an investment?
I bought Bitcoin when it was $28k, and I also bought it when it was $50k, today Bitcoin is on $65k and rising. I have made X2 of my investment within a year and there's a very big chance that I'll make X2 of my other investments this year or next year,  if that's not the definition of an investment, I wonder what else is. Or do you see an investment as something that will give you X10 of your investment in a month?

Also, I agree that savings don't make wealth. You can't get wealthy if your money is just the way it is without growing. But you can save to start a business and the business can generate wealth.

This is also another reason why Bitcoin is above all else. With Bitcoin, your savings can also be an investment. You have savings you can easily liquidate in 10 minutes in case of emergency and you also have an investment.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 01, 2024, 09:06:03 PM
I can't say for certain how gambling would be in the future but I know it would be more easier than it is today. In the same way, it is way easier to gamble today than it was 50 years ago.
One thing I know doe certain is that it won't be easier for players to win. It will always be just as difficult, only this time it will be with more and better marketing.

Casinos won't make it easier for gamblers to win money, if gamblers win all the time then the casinos won't make money. So what they do is make it more interesting and addictive so we gamblers can have more fun while believing that we will win big one day. Same old, same old.
I'm all in for gambling being more fun though, we just have to keep gambling responsibly.
