Michael Oliver the man for the Big occasion, a Referee with so much experience for big games.
Manchester city has been really proving their worth so far, currently leading 1-0,  the match has really been intense for both teams, as both teams have had good Chances to score goals especially Liverpool. However if Liverpool can maintain these tempo, then they will find the back of the net because they've not really been put out of composure in their ball control despite being on the losing side. Liverpool needs to work on their finishing.
Lack of proper communication from the Liverpool defenders cased this goal, John Stones was Lucky to have the goal scored and it looks like he De Bruyne knew that he will be free if AKE made the move, and unfortunately it works for them as they lead 1-0 at Anfield.
It is not yet over because Liverpool is not given up, this is a good sign that the match will be tough from beginning to the end because I am seeing a draw in the match if Klopp bring in Moh Sallah.
The both teams are back on a level terms making it 1-1, as Liverpool just scored from a PK committed by the Manchester city goal keeper, I thought Michael Oliver would have given him a red card for that action against that Liverpool player because he was the last man standing, but a yellow card is still fair because I feel he just wants to be careful. I've said that Liverpool have had good composure in these game, and with the way things are, there is a lot to unfold in these game,  The game is now balance again for more drama.

383  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria is set to join BRICS in May 2024. on: March 09, 2024, 06:05:07 PM
BRICS organisation X account made a tweet on Friday which reads 'Nigeria will apply to join BRICS in 2024'. Nigeria has been going through a lot of economic challenges which have caused double-digit inflation and the depreciation of the country's currency the Naira. One of the problems of the country is its over-reliance on the dollar for imports. The dollarisation of the Nigerian economy has put pressure on the Naira causing it to lose much value.

Joining BRICS might not be the only solution to the economic recovery of the country but it will contribute to its economic recovery. This is because if Nigeria eventually becomes a member of BRICS, the West African country would be trading its major exporting product which is oil in Naira and also paying for exports with its local currency, thereby reducing reliance on the dollar.
At these point whatever they would join to bring goodwill to the economy, let them join. Let it not be that oh because they were not allowed to join BRICS that is why we've been experiencing this economic crisis, because at these point, we are already in a cross Road, whichever direction that will lead to the salvation of the economy, will be welcome development.

Our major problem has always been our overreliance on crude oil, because we need to export other things in accordance with crude oil to give value to the Naira even if we don't want to be trading the dollar for naira.
384  Other / Off-topic / Re: specialty or "Jack of all trade? on: March 09, 2024, 05:27:28 PM
No doubt, being the jack of all trades has a lot of advantages, especially in today's world where a single skill and source of income is always not enough to Carter for your needs, and coping well in a field would in most instances require that you combine a lot of other skills for effective productivity but then, being a specialist or someone that's dedicated to a chosen field could make you exceptionally experienced than combining a whole lot of similar skill on your head.

I guess this is the reason why in most professional fields like medicine, engineering, finance, and even in the legal fields, it's expected that there is a combination of some sort of general knowledge or focus on a niche where one will be called upon to handle matters in that context.

What's your view on this? Is it best to be a specialist in a chosen field or tilt to being the jack of all trades?

I think for every human being, we have our own special gift, there are a lot of people that are versatile and are good with their art, be it singing, dancing, academies etc, and also there are people gifted with specialities who are only good at what they do but cannot do same in another field of endeavour.

The most important thing is for somebody to be known for something, because if your the best or your good at something that you are doing, you will always be called upon hence there is need. But Those other persons that are "jack of all trade but master of none" will be called upon to seek there opinion on something but certainly not on professional basis.
385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 04:19:54 PM
Man U have removed all my doubts and the bookies have given a gift of big odds on a Devils win... Although Everton are capable of scoring a goal, but I hope that Man U will score more... Ahead of the second half and the main thing for Man U will be to hold the defence...
Manchester United defeated Everton 2–0. Neither team scored any more goals. The match was evenly balanced, with both teams giving decent performances, but Everton's poor finishing and poor defense allowed Manchester United to take advantage of being the home team to win the game in order to move up in the Premier League standings.

It's really not balance for me, Manchester united had two penalties which for me was just too much, Everton played well, they didn't just have the finishing if not, Manchester united weren't that impressive too. It would have been a goalless draw game if not for the PK and that would have been a balance game. However Manchester United haven't still moved up in the premier League table as they are still in the same place as they were, Aston Villa and Tottenham are still in their front.
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Banking on people's ideas, visions, and talents. on: March 09, 2024, 01:52:34 PM
Have you ever met individuals with insane and brilliant ideas that got you wondering, how come he knows all this and it's not even reflected in his life? Some could give you real business ideas that could change a whole generation but that's all they can do, they can't bring it to reality and all their ideas only end on the discussion ground and never come to life.

I've met some of them and I must say, they are the backbone of so many successful businesses. Always with brilliant solutions to hands-on problems but can't put things together all by themselves to create a company of their own.

I believe nature is fair to all and while it gives some people that quality, others can bank from these brilliant ideas and bring it all to reality by supporting the ideas with the needed finance, resources, and coordination required to have a successful firm.

What do you think?
I have seen such individuals, they are so idealistic and brilliant but it's not reflecting in their lifestyle. I believe they haven't put into practice what they preach. Even the holy bible said, "faith without work is dead". However those set of persons can actually make a living by selling their ideas to people that have the capacity to make it come through and make money from that. Just like we have song writers that cannot sing, yet they give the verses they've written to good musicians to sing, and people will enjoy the music without knowing who wrote it.
People are talented in different ways but the ability to use your talent to make a living is not always easy.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 09:25:31 AM
As gambler when last did you self-examine your gambling habit to create that awareness based on how you are gambling in order for you to be quite sure if you're within a considerable or an acceptable range of a gambling habit that is void of addiction or the tendencies of gambling addiction.

I think if gamblers could take certain step in setting up regular self examining question towards themself it will be helpful to them in their gambling life not to ignorantly be harbouring a gambling addiction or compulsive gambling lifestyle. Quite a number of gamblers are nursing an addictive gambling habit without knowing and for them their gambling life is normal but if they should  genuinely scrutinize or put their habit to test it is possible they could find varied errors to correct and be right on track again.

Don't you think so?
Outside self-examination I think there should be other ways of examining your gambling habit either by meeting a therapist and telling the therapist you're habitual gambling lifestyle so he or she can tell you if you've reached your limit or not, because if you leave it to yourself you will always want to tell yourself that you haven't gotten to your limit. I believe self-examination can be deceiving in most times, because most people don't like to tell themselves the truth.

Moreover as human beings we have our instincts that will normally tell us if we've been excessive with something or not, and most times people who become to additive with gambling only realise their bad gambling harbit when they go broke. So putting your habit to test by going to a therapist to examine your gambling habit will be the best solution for me.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 08, 2024, 09:52:22 PM
You know, there are people that look at certain things and they just conclude that because it's luxurious and expensive, it's not there thing at all. I once had that kind of mindset but with time I have learned that luxury could even make you more productive.

There are environment you will be exposed to and things you will use that will totally revamp your idea on wealth and aid you to work more effectively. As long as the luxurious stuff you're purchasing aids you to become more productive and comfortable, nothing should be too expensive to be bought for your comfort.

I've purchased a Mac laptop that's way expensive than the average laptops I could easily get but because I needed what will work well for the kind of job I do, I had to buy it and I must say that the fulfillment out ways the negative thought of not to purchasing it.

That's one factor that lead me to always go for high quality and luxurious stuff after that moment.

Have you bought something that people feel is rather too expensive and that you could have purchased a lower version of it? What was your inexperience like after that?
Luxury and wanting to get high quality things for yourself, it could be clothes, electronics, cars etc all depends on your income. you cannot be desiring high quality things without you having the money. Everybody would want to live a luxurious life if they can afford it, but that is not how nature works, however "all things bright and beautiful, all creatures Great and small the Lord God made them all". all fingers are not equal so you do things according to how much you can afford them, luxury is necessary but everybody cannot afford it, that is nature for you.
389  Economy / Economics / Re: What is The Negative Effect of Inflation on Household Savings? on: March 08, 2024, 02:45:11 PM
There are two types of consequences: if you have money on your bank account they lose their purchasing power because you are subjected to an "implicit tax" because your saving are cut by the increasing in the price level. So you should be able to invest your money in bond or in  the Capital market in order to close the gap with the inflation rate.

Obviously investing you can achieve more profits but losses at the same time, due the equation more yield and more risks.

If you want an advice you can just think to invest your money in bond because Central Banks will decrease interest rates in the long run because inflation is falling sharply.
The truth is that, inflation is not just good, even when you invest in bonds or capital market and when you get your return in investment, it will still be cut up by inflation. so the whole idea of allowing inflation to go on and thinking you can invest to beat inflation sometimes doesn't work well like that.

So the best solution is to tackle the inflation head on, first is to stabilize the economy and the monetary value of the currency. Inflation does not have a good part because it renders people savings hopeless, it increases cost of production and manufacturing, it increases transportation of goods and services and whole lot more. So for me government should help to bring policies that can stabilize the economy and make people savings worth it, because the act of saving is for you to have something for the rainy days and is an economic policy to survive and have more capital if you want to do business later.
390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 11:21:38 AM
Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?
To avoid matches that can be manipulated, I go for just big leagues like the EPL, Serial A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Lique 2 and some others. I only think that the lower leagues that are not common are the ones that can be manipulated because I can still go for second and third leagues like Championship, Serial B, Lique 2 and others which are common and well known. I also still go for leagues in countries like Brazil and Argentina. But there are some that are very low leagues that I can not go for.
You're right about the fact that for big leagues manipulation is always reduced because a lot of eyes are concentrated on those leagues and their matches, however I think lower divisions leagues don't always get attention so manipulations can be done, I agree with you on this. I have not personally experienced manipulation due to racism in football matches, because I don't have any fact to on that, but I can agree with you in terms of Match fixing and manipulation of match results, it can always happen in the lower division. Moreover I think even in betting most of us go for the big leagues and their matches  to select games, I hardly go for lower division.
391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Even as a sport fan be careful! on: March 08, 2024, 11:04:43 AM
Two Brighton supporters were stabbed in Rome last night ahead of tonight's Europa League round of 16 first leg tie against Roma.

Rumors says they were away supporters, and the showoff was immense. I feel there is a need that if a Fan goes on a vacation to watch a game in a foreign country. They should be security conscious, observant and stay out of unnecessary banters that could lead them to troubles or death. It a game for fun and merriment not something we should take too personally to heart to cause trouble.

Source Link Here

Football banter has always been fias battle in Italy especially Rome. However I expect the home team to do more in terms of providing more security for visiting teams and their fans both on and of the pitch because situations like these if not properly handled it could snowball into serious football rivalry that can be dangerous, because the English fans will be waiting for a day or time Roman fans will come back to England for a match for them to retaliate on the attack that was given to them, and the circle will continue over and over again if unabited.
The Romans fans shouldn't be angry if visiting team are having some showoff because it's part of football, is part of the bragging right of football fans across the world.
392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The American primary election. on: March 07, 2024, 10:26:41 PM
Election is a time for choice but so many has chose to kill themselves when they are not chosen. An election is conducted not because the acting person is doing well or not an election is a time for the masses to come out to show their support for who they want to represent them in times of good and bad globally and nationally.
An election is meant to be peaceful how can a country choose to elect someone who has threatened the masses saying if I don't win it will be bloody gosh these words only shows that the person won't rule the people to success and some underdogs will still accept bribery and allow such person to seat as a leader is that not oppression now what mindset do the masses think that person would have.
These days it is Money, I don't blame those leaders who say the masses didn't vote them their money did since we have preferred to eat a day and live in tears for the remaining days.

The world power country, The United States of America just concluded their primaries and the acting president Joe Biden lost in the primaries and has broken the record of many years where the acting president Jimmy Carter lost to Ted Kennedy in 1980 Jason Palmer has overshadowed Joe Biden with a whooping 51 to 40 aggregate out of 91 votes.https://l.kphx.net/s?d=6861008078129908901&extra=
I'm very surprised that Joe biden lost his primaries, an incumbency to lose primaries in this present world is very unlikely because in some cases most president will use the power of incumbency to manipulate results for themselves. Politically it is not always an easy ride for political parties to file a new presidential candidate outside the incumbency and still win because most times, because incumbency enjoys some level of privileges and some level of edge to winning election again but bringing in a new candidate entirely to match up your opposition might not be an easy task. For me I feel they would have allowed to biden to win the primaries.
393  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Mr president Tinubu alignment with Binance to restrict dollar to naira trading on: March 07, 2024, 09:53:15 PM
I don't know who is enthusiastic and unenthusiastic to this update that the Mr president Tinubu is confirmed working in a financial trading cooperative affair with the Binance exchange to stop citizens who trades dollars for naira in their platform.
Binance has also been submitted to the request that they would not tolerate with any caught probably manipulating the restricted dollar to naira trading in their platform. They have sanctioned threats that who is caught on the defiling the act would be removed from the Binance trading platform.
https://gazettengr.com/binance-confirms-working-with-tinubu-govt-to-block-dollar-naira-exchange/
My excitement towards the update is that it is not in anyway concern us the crytop enthusians and much more, we the Nigerians are grinding gradually and growing in the crytop space.

I am not sure but I feel our financial regulatory system must have instigated and examined that the high rate of dollar to naira exchange is one of a resultants of the trading of Dollar for naira. Maybe this would bring a resolution to our devaluing currency.
Although I am sure that this is not the whole of it. If our government want values in our currency they should create amenities that would attract international Investors to our local society here in Nigeria and also structures international incorporative economy infrastructures.
It was reported that in the last administration over 30 billion naira was printed for wage and means by the federal government, and there was no productive measures or production activities that was done to match up with that high level of printing of the Naira notes, that is one major issue that has helped in devaluing the currency because we have a lot of amount of the currency in the hands of people that are not productive hence it trickled down to the currency being  devalued. There are several causes that might have as well help to devalue the naira but the presidency going after binance is more of chasing Shadows.

Binance is a crypto platform, they engages in crypto activities and there are lots of other platforms like binance that will do the same thing that binance is doing so what's the essence of wanting to fight binance when others can do exactly the same job.
394  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Prepare Your Children For Bitcoin Investment and Not for Government Jobs. on: March 07, 2024, 01:57:59 PM
It has been a practice for decades that parents were sending and training their children or wards to secure a befitting jobs either in the government or the private sectors. I was told that in those days, government agencies and private sectors agencies were coming to pick the best graduating students from their various field of studies in their universities. And given them cars, a houses and other allowances to start of their lives and work with them.
And that boosted the attendance of people to school because every parents wants their children to secure a good job after school.
And they didn't secure a job, they can join politics to participate in political movement and others but not everyone has the opportunity to join politics to the top. Most of them end at the subject or gladiators and from there most of them became political apathy.
And things are not like those days again, we have millions of graduates with 1st class degrees but no jobs because the government didn't prepare for the future of it citizens so when the population explosion came, there is no job spot again to the population again. And if they employ it is just few spots. And all the rest move around looking for jobs. Then another thing that making jobs to be lacked is corruption, and lastly capitalism.
Therefore the best option I suggest is to prepare your children in cryptocurrency investment so that they will not depend on government or private sectors jobs but will create jobs for the society through cryptocurrency investment. Like many have done it from their bitcoin investment. They have opened Boutique, Barbing Salon, Restaurant fast food shops, Food Items Shop, Land and Fish Farms etc. And for that instead of seeking for jobs, they provide jobs for others and they become employers of labour.
Therefore prepare them for bitcoin investment and not to be job seekers. I have said this before.

DiMarxist.

OP I get your point, but there are various ways to teach your children how to be self reliant. first you the parents must either be seen to be self reliant or have some connotation with self reliance. However training your children or giving them sound education is good, because education can as well help them thinker something better for themselves, either to start up there own business or investing in Bitcoin which would be an easy part for them if their parents are Bitcoin investors. However even as a bitcoin investor, there are still other profitable businesses your children can spread their tentacles if they want to be self-reliant, their profit from bitcoin investment can as well be diversified into real estate, transportation etc, just to build more capital.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 06, 2024, 01:28:20 PM
There is a huge game between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield in only four days.  Smiley  It is like a game to decide the champion even though it is mathematically early for the end of the season. If Liverpool win this game I think that will definitely be it. The gap will be 4 points in that case and in the remaining 10 weeks I assume Liverpool wouldn't mess it up.
After that game, there will be approximately ten matches left, and I do not believe that game will be the one that decides who wins the English Premier League for this season. Are you not able to recall the time when City was able to surpass Arsenal when there were less than ten matches left in the season? There will be some players on Liverpool's roster who are considered secondary.
It is my expectation that there will be a great number of significant players that are not present in this game. However, it is not yet certain whether salah will return in a short time. My patience is still being tested as I wait for Manchester City and Liverpool to make use of the line up. When it comes to betting on a club, I am not entirely certain which one I will choose.

But if Manchester City win here the thing that I'm scared of the most can happen and they can make it to the league title.  Sad  In case of a draw Liverpool will still be advantageous so they had better prepare themselves in a solid way for this game.
I don't understand what's wrong if city is winning the league. I don't see any issues with it at all. If Manchester City is indeed capable of defeating Liverpool and winning the English Premier League, then they have deserved it. If Manchester City can do this task using their expertise, then everything will be good. It looks like there won't be any issues with it.
During this season, I would love to see Manchester City once again dominate the English Premier League. In preparation for his fourth trophy, Pep Guardiola is ready to win. I have no doubt that Manchester City will win the next trophy. I am certain of this. Both Liverpool and Arsenal will complete the season with fewer points than manchester city.

My forecast regarding the outcome of this season is that it will be like that.
If Manchester city can defeat Liverpool and seat at the top of the league table then it would be a welcome development for the citizen, it would be a great achievement for them as a team knowing that it was them that displaced liverpool at the top and not the other way round where another team would beat liverpool and mancity will progress to the top, this time it will be manchester city facing the right opportunity to enhance their chances of topping the league by beating their arch rivals to take the lead. and i  think this is going to be very remarkable for manchester city if they finally get it right, however Liverpool will still give in their best to make sure they maintain the top Spot, so it really going to be an interesting game.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 06, 2024, 01:09:01 PM
I have been notice Napoli progress has slightly good recently because they got 2 consecutive win from Sassuolo and the latest is Napoli can able to overcomes strong team Juventus and the win result from Juventus is good to boosted Napoli mentally because they can be more confident to facing upcoming matches however total Napoli was through an 4 matches in all competitions with new manager Francesco Calzona and Napoli still unbeatable but i am not sure these statistics can be called impressive because Napoli required more the winning results to proven they are really can able to bounce back

Napoli this month will facing busy schedules because in Serie A they will fight against Torino, Inter Milan and Atalanta and in Champion League too Napoli will facing Barcelona for second leg of round of 16 but these matches is good to tested Napoli consistency under new manager whether they can able to through an those matches with positive results or Napoli is return to being an unstable but the most difficult opponents from Napoli is Inter Milan and Barcelona so i feel like Napoli potentially will be lost from them
I must say that I like the way they are progressing right now in the domestic league which has also reflected on the morale of the entire team, making them formidable against their rivals in their past 3 matches against sassuollo in Italian serie A, Barcelona in the ucl and recently against juventus in domestic league where they trashed juventus 2-1 at home. right now i think barcelona are going to find it difficult to handle this napoli side, as a result of their current form which i think is a factor that might decide the outcome of the return leg against Barcelona in the UCL.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 06, 2024, 12:51:55 PM
...

Source: Harry Kane

The euphoria of Bayern Munich's victory over Lazio which brought them into the quarter is still very much felt. However, they have to stay on track, because the struggle ahead will be even more difficult. I'm sure that after this, Bayern Munich will focus much more and strengthen their team for this UCL. For, their hopes in the Bundesliga are very small, maybe it seems that they don't have any chance again to win the title this season.

Honestly given Harry Kane's age I thought that he scored way more goals than 27 in the Champions League! But ok, he is doing the job for Bayern and it does at least pay off for them that they paid so much money for him in the sense that they know they didn't make a mistake. If they don't win any titles though, there isn't really a pay off for them financially.

Anyone thinks that Bayern Munich has a say in the Champions League title race this season?

That's an astounding fact! I never looked up Kane's goal count in the CL. But a quick search shows that his performance data is quite good! I overestimated the games he played in the CL, but it's only 40 games in total so far. He scored 27 goals and gave 8 assists, which is 35 contributions in 40 games and that's a top notch performance.

Bayern's chances to reach the final (let alone win the trophy) are pretty slim I think. The game against Lazio was okay, but considering how the goals were scored, everyone knows that there was some luck involved and it is still a Lazio team that is completely out of shape. If they played against Manchester City, I think Bayern would lose by a significant margin.
It was an astonishing performance from Bayern Munich after a disappointing weekend match in the bundesliga against Freiburg which saw them drop points, so this win against Lazio was a sigh of relief for Bayern Munich as well as an opportunity for them to work harder if they want to advance to the next round because it doesn't get any easier in the UCL on this stage where Bayern are right now so they have to brace up and expect a tougher opponents than lazio whom they knocked out of the competition last night, there are still stronger teams like real Madrid, Manchester city, arsenal, Barcelona, PSG and many more so bayern have to be prepared to meet any of these big sides.
398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the most you have ever won gambling? What is the most you have ever lost on: March 06, 2024, 11:32:39 AM
I was scrolling through this section and I noticed that I hadn't really seen a thread that talks about the best wins and fatal losses.

Maybe if the loss part is still a sore subject just refrain from posting anything about that, I am just curious to see what people will say.

If you'd like to, please comment the most you have ever won gambling, please describe what you bet on, for how much, and the winnings (for fun tell the story).

I'd like to know how it changed your life (if that was the case), what did you do with your winnings? Would you have done anything differently now looking back? Do the same for the losses if you choose to.

As for me: The most i've ever won gambling is also the most i've ever lost gambling! Because it all happened at the same exact time. I actually have and old thread telling this story that I will dig up and post the link: Here.
Basically I am a football gambler, I've lost most times as much as I've won most times. My losses obviously will be way higher than the number of times have won, that's gambling for me. However the number of times I've lost gambling have been so frustrating and sometimes painful, but yet I still try to manage my losses and strategy my next betting slip, because consistency and strategy makes you win big in gambling and am testimony to that.

There is one good thing about gambling,  there is no doubt about if the fact that sometimes we encounter losses and it sorely painful, however sometimes our staking powers are not always much but trust me, when you get a big win, it can actually cover for the times you've lost.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you experience this sometimes? on: March 06, 2024, 10:36:14 AM
Why don't you trust your intuition? I just don't have such feelings about sports betting. When I make a bet on sports events, I just don't come up with big expectations and I'm pretty much OK, if the outcome isn't what I expected. Why do you still include the match in your bet, if you have a gut feeling that it won't be successful? I know that your intuition won't be right all the time, but sometimes you have to listen to that inner voice. If I have a feeling that a certain match is too unpredictable, I just don't bet on it.
That feeling is called instincts and in most times it is good to follow them, for some games like these that you are not too sure of the outcome, you either double chance the both sides, because you wouldn't be too sure of the outcome or you remove that particular game entirely. If you're a regular gambler you will surely be experiencing these kind of situation, to a point it will be very common with you. A lot of times it can be very frustrating but experience will make you to start avoiding to pick some of those teams you know wouldn't be doing well or wouldn't play along with the odds you've selected.
400  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: March 06, 2024, 10:01:50 AM
I am not sure about countries but I know that many persons and businesses prefer to use borrowed money because loans are cheap and many prefer loans to spending/investing their own money. I believe it's the same with countries. Instead of raising taxes, raising retirement age and other unpopular measures, why not just borrow some money if it's easily available?
Loans are not cheap, they come with a price which we call interest, these interest are high in percentage especially if a country is coming to borrow because they believe with time you will grow the money to pay back, I mean you're a sovereign nation so gathering the capital and interest to pay back won't be a issue they believe. However there is always a saying that he who goes borrowing go sorrowing, because taking a loan is almost like a rope tied on your neck until you upset that loan with its interest the rope will not be removed on your neck. so it's not always rosy for countries to go and borrow either from the IMF or any other sovereign wealth fund, I've known of a case of some countries not being able to pay back the loan at the stipulated time they where given and they've surrendered a government own generating asset to the loan issuers.
