382  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Hitting the Street is Inevitable on: February 04, 2024, 04:36:40 AM
The system of things has made us all incapacitated and trust me words mate it's a deliberate system carved to reduce us to nothing so that we can't have or afford the resources to use in hitting the streets. The media is not on our side so who will show the true story of any outcome of what may result out if we hit the street? Remember #ENDSARS how the media painted it to the outside world but thanks to social media platforms like YouTube and X many genuine videos went viral to showcase their massacre act but till date who has been punished for all the death? No body.

I hate to say this but not prayers or continued endurance of the suffering can save us or bring about a better change to our system of government but rather a war or a determined military coup to ease the pressure of the political system that have bastardized the economy to nothing but continual ruin and shambles.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 04, 2024, 04:16:53 AM
When I saw a survey indicating that the majority of voters chose the player that only a handful of experts expect to win over the player that has proven to be more dominant, it blew my mind.

I am talking about the boxing match between former champion and big star Anthony Joshua and mma star Francis Nganou. However, I remember not long ago I refused to place a wager on Real Madrid because I desired Girona to win La Liga. In addition, wagering against the Los Angeles Lakers when matched with the best NBA teams is difficult for me.

I want to find out if there are individuals like me. What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?

Sometimes my favorite team is going through a bad period and I feel that they might lose points, but I never bet against them. I don't bet against individual athletes that I like and admire a lot. I guess I am a bit emotional about it. However, there are always many matches to bet on. I don't have only one option. If I rejected one option I might have a regret, but I don't have one option. I have a lot of alternatives and betting on other matches makes me feel more comfortable.
Reading through I can perceive what are emotional gambler you are regarding to your team's or an individual athlete support as a fan. You remind me of a guy I knew in my former location, rather for him to bet against his favourite team he will prefer not to pick that game into his bet slip and till date I wonder the manner of joy he deeives from been so loyal to the extend of not admitting to take advantage of a game he's aware of an imminent loss against his team in his gambling to make money out of it. Just pondering does those stars, teams and clubs knows that there are people like this that exists in their career that will always stick to them even in losing and winning times despite how much money is at risk.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you invest on this kind of offer? on: February 04, 2024, 04:04:06 AM

I’m thinking about offering a bankroll investment. I will let interested user to invest on my bankroll and share profit. The advantage on this offer is I will refund the investment in case my bankroll loss since I will consider this a loan money without any interest. It’s either share profit or refund but the only catch is all investors need to wait for the certain date which I will set before the investment start.

PS: This is not real bankroll offer but just a hypothetical idea just to know if the community will like this kind of offer. This is only possible for user that has good reputation since trust is the main issue here. This method might help someone who regularly loan for gambling to stop paying loan interest in exchange of profit sharing.

You need to have a good reputation in the gambling community you need to be transparent and you need to be very good at gambling because they are trusting their money to you, they will prefer to invest in casino bankroll than a player's bankroll because the casino has an edge over a player, and if I'm the investor I don't think waiting for a certain date before the investment start is good for my investment..
Apart from the reputation and transparency aspect which is very sacrosanct for someone like myself before I could want to risk my penny into the hand of another person to gamble with it you have showed me your level of gambling success you have made in many previous bets you have played and they have to be convincible enough. Because for a gambler to hand over his money to a fellow gambler for a bankroll kind of investment sort of thing he must have seen veritable reasons to believe in your capacity to deliver because what investors will want to hear is you are delivering and not excuses at the end.
385  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: February 04, 2024, 03:38:53 AM
so my question is, which is more risky?

A). Running a physical business that has a whole lot of risk associated with it or

B) running an online investment with high risk of hack that could result in you loosing all your asset.

I say both are highly risky in the individual's respective perspective that are involved in either any one of the two.

A physical business owner will narrate to you the risk involved on the road or sea in terms of delivering their goods, with an accident or a mishap and the ship sinks all that goods are lost and money gone with it. There are possible armed robbers/burglary attack and many of the other risks op has mentioned.

While for an online investor in crypto are also embedded with couples of risk that we are all informed about so I would decide not to go into listing. But in all of those risks in the two different areas of doing business it all depends on the individual on how he manages these risks and play his own part in keeping himself away from making avoidable losses. And also being able to accept certain situations that may occur which may be beyond control. Risk is everywhere!
386  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 04, 2024, 03:23:01 AM
Inflation erodes the purchasing power of our money over time, making simple savings less effective. Investing in bitcoins, land, or gold may be a more profitable option, preserving and potentially increasing the value of our funds. I lean towards the idea that investments provide better protection against the impact of inflation compared to simply hoarding money.
Investment is a hedge over inflationary times as we are right now but savings just as the name implies is a life saver at moments when emergency situations strikes and could be that our investment has made or got to a maturity to be be accessed or withdrawn and with an available savings sudden circumstances can be scaled through without having to start looking for where to go borrowing, at times we don't even get who will loan us the money at that time. So what am saying is that, despite the inflation that may affect the value of our saving  we should make sure to have a savings amount left somewhere even as we pursue investment as a way to balance out financial state of things because life situations are unpredictable.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 04, 2024, 03:12:55 AM
Smoking as they say, is dangerous for health and also smokers are liable to die young. A lot of people still ignore these warnings and smoke like though it is their job and they are being paid for it. The money these people invest in buying smokes or cigarettes if well invested can yield them good profit and benefits instead they decided to smoke it away.
I wonder if people in this generation are anymore afraid of losing their health anymore than ever before because the with the amount of drug addicts and the proliferation of the invention of many hard drugs in the society it does scares me to death what the next generation with be like 50 years from now on the area of taking in substances that's dangerous to health apart from just the cigarettes we're discussing about here. Despite the boldly written inscription "smokers are liable to die young", still people can't help themselves from smoking even after reading.

What I think is that the public awareness shouldn't just be on the part of the health risk but also on the financial aspect too, where financial experts could analyze how much those money spent on buying these substances/cigarettes to endanger their lives could be use into other investment areas to better their lives instead. I see that people are more scared of losing money this days more than losing their health in the long term. So may the two should go together in public campaigns awareness.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the possibility of discovering a memecoin that could change your life? on: February 04, 2024, 02:47:08 AM
Waiting for this is like waiting to win the lottery, nowadays we have more than 2 million coins... 2 years ago there were only 14 thousand, the chance of this working out is infinitely smaller than it was in the past, I think it's easier try your luck at a casino or play the traditional lottery.

Smiles... Grin I don't really blame people when they would prefer to pass that money to gambling or a lottery to try their lucky as it appears that the probability to having a possible profit to be made is higher in gambling than it is with  memecoins. Years back when they were a few thousands it was not that much of a headache and interestingly there were a more genuine ones with the intent to stay for a long time than those that weren't but nowadays with millions of it all yet our luck on it seem to get thinner than a needles hole which is why some persons would chose to gamble or play a lottery over it.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest airdrop you've ever received? on: February 04, 2024, 02:22:37 AM
I have been an unlucky dude when it's about airdrops projects as I have been a participant of a few different airdrop projects that promises so much to give when launched but it was just unfortunate for me that all I have been partaking in kept on failing on their promises which made me lost faith in wasting my time and energy executing tasks anymore in the hope of profiting from any. But sometime in 2021 in my memo serve me right I had this friend who told me about an airdrop project that was about to be launched and that I should participate too as he has been following up and they look quite promising to deliver. Out of bitter experiences of the previous airdrops I didn't take it serious but guess what, that project was real as they actually delivered on their words and my friend made some cool cash about $800 from it. At first I felt jealous but not anymore right now. Shits happens
390  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Too much pressure on the male child on: February 03, 2024, 09:14:26 PM
In the africa and Asia world the society is expecting a lot from the male child, even in the neighbourhood their is an amount of money you will have the people around will be looking up to you when their is a problem in the neighbourhood.  This is something that we can't escape from. In Africa it is the Duty of a man to take care of his parent and younger ones who still need support.  It is the duty for a man to  provide for his family,  when is unable to provide for his family the society won't give him the respect he deserves. Men are being respected based on how much they can bring to the table.
It is for the reason of such pressure of responsibilities from different angles on the male child in continent like Africa that's why the men hardly live to a longevity of age. It is out of this wrong  belief system by majority of persons in the society that the respect deserving of a man is to be measured by the amount of material wealth he posseses that have forced a lot of young men to indulge into immoral and criminal activities to make money in order to retain their respect and dignity in the environment they find themselves. A narrative that's very bad and need to be squashed with a a radical orientation about how a true respect should be earned.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use profits from the crypto market? on: February 03, 2024, 08:34:53 PM
I want to hear from you:
  • Have you ever been profitable and taken profits in the crypto market?
  • How did you use that profit? Do you use that profit or reinvest it?
  • Do you think using profits is also important for your investment journey?

I should believe that every investment before it's to be made the investor has a time plan mapped out for the investment in taking profit within such period from the investment, and when it gets to the time planned the investor is faced with two decisions either to reinvest based on his state of finance and the amount of profit made or to take profit and channel it to other areas of his endeavors that needs financial push.

I have had times I take profit from my bitcoin investment to match up with what I have at hand to achieve a desperate project and it has been helpful, however that doesn't stop me from DCAing when I can too.
392  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin is one world currency on: February 03, 2024, 02:28:32 PM
Having a one world currency to be used for exchange of goods and services will be appealing if it's a decentralized currency which means it has to be under a decentralized government but which government will want to be decentralized thereby losing its legitimate use of force, control and regulatory authority. More importantly, which government of the world will want to submit their sovereign economic control to a global central authority? Which is why this in theory can be said to be fine but practically impossible. I admire the stand bitcoin has taken to be an alternative currency so even though it gains a global adoption it's practically an alternative to the centralized financial system of control.
393  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can government track us. on: February 03, 2024, 01:41:13 PM
If I wanted to know something from people on this community, can government track us if we questions against there rules and laws or if they find it inappropriate.
The issue is that we can avoid being tracked by the government if we only make use of decentralized platforms for all our cryptocurrencies operations, however this is seeming quite unavoidable as there are some kind of operation you will want to make do with that only centralized platforms and organisation provides and this will mean that you will have to be KYCed which is the means through which the government easily use in tracking us and our transactions and movements. So if you have been registered with any centralized exchanges or platforms it's okay to assume that you can be tracked by the government at any point in time they so wish because they will through the use of coercion gain access to your personal details from those centralized platforms based on their policies regulating them.
394  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DeSantis Vows to Abolish IRS, Advocates Flat Tax in Presidential Bid Amidst Stif on: February 03, 2024, 01:05:40 PM
https://news.bitcoin.com/desantis-vows-to-abolish-irs-advocates-flat-tax-in-presidential-bid-amidst-stiff-gop-competition/
If he can get rid of the IRS does that mean people wouldn't need to pay taxes on Crypto? Who would hold them accountable? Shocked But these politicians always say BS like this but they never actually do it once they get into office. Hope this guy is different. I would vote for him if he's serious!

I mean doing just one of those two things would be an accomplishment but both? that's like too good to be true...
Dont take everyone words that comes out do the politicians lips seriously when they are on their campaign canvassing for electorate support. Most of the promises they make they don't even have an already laid down plan to achieve those promises but they just made it anyway with the aim to capture the minds of the people to their side. In my country in the just concluded general election that was held, all the promises made by the sitting president right now it's quite the opposite we are getting on the economy.
395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 03, 2024, 12:39:23 PM
Nigeria are playing to expectation with a very high spirit in this game unlike how we have seen Angola held other teams they had played against in this AFCON to a stand still it is different with in this game against Nigeria. Like you said, the Nigeria defence is good nothing giving the Angola's forwards to see a space to trouble the goal post with shots. Right now Nigeria is leading with a one goal and we hope they be able to secure or get more goals as they come back to the second half.
Both sides have been good but, Nigeria has been exceptional in this particular fixtures compared to all the games they’ve played in the AFCON so far. It’s not just entertaining but, seeing how both sides keeps going forward and how the Nigerian defense intercept the ball at every given advance at goal shows the level of determination they came with in this square fixture of the tournament.
Alex Iwobi have been maned the mid field so dominantly and what a great pass he delivered to Moses Simone who made the move to create that goal opportunity for Lookman, Nigeria has just best there game in this quarter finals, no question.
it was a disappointing night for the Angola's as Nigeria had to denied them all the gift items that was promised to them by their country which was part of a way to ignite their determination in the game but Nigeria wasn't an easy side for them Angola to get a win from. Nigeria's defence in that game was just wonderful with all the interceptions and the goalkeeper wasn't left out in carrying out his role in the goalpost by regularly intercepting almost every crossed pass in the air at the goalpost from reaching to the head of an Angola player.  Moving to the next stage of the competition I would believe Nigeria can get get to the finals of this tournament and possibly win it if they continue with this determination and team work, that's if injury doesn't set into the team. Congratulations to them.
396  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Whale tracking? on: February 02, 2024, 08:13:15 PM
Hello all forum members. I want to try a new trading strategy, repeat trades after whales. But I can't find normal wallets. Can you please tell me what tools I can use to find wallets of big players?
Is that a strategy? Yes it looks like one. Will be be effective and profitable for someone of your caliber? I don't  think so. You will only be topping the bags of the whales if you take this path you call a strategy without having sizeable bag close to or equivalent to those of the whales that can withstand any certain fake out in the market used by the whales to bury small bag traders before the market really gives a clear cut direction for either a buy or sell.

397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 02, 2024, 06:12:24 PM
Hope am not late for any action here as I was catching up with the Asian games and game is in extra time with Australia almost winning that one but unfortunately South Korea got an equaliser to push for extra time..

Now locked in for the Nigeria-Angola game, and so far Nigeria has just taken the lead thanks to a lookman thunderbolt goal which looks like it could be what's sending them to the Semis and it's well deserved with the amount of possession they have enjoyed!!

And this being the AFCON, I wouldn't be surprised if the match ends as is (1-0) but to be on the safe side these guys need an insurance goal.
Nigeria showed a high level of seriousness in this match and they held their ground by not giving Angola any opportunity to create chances that will enable them to score the super eagles of Nigeria. It was a good game work from the front liners of the super Eagles for them to be able to break through Angola's defense and break the deadlock to take the lead.

Nigeria took possession of the game and they lost some good opportunities of finding the back of the post. Angola players tried their best, but it wasn't good enough to outperform the Super Eagles who are desperate of finding the by of the net by all means. Nigeria is very strong on their defense, and that might make it difficult for Angola to score them because Angola strikers are not that active to find a means of penetrating their opponent defense.
398  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Who has tried buying via Bank on: February 01, 2024, 10:07:28 PM
This is something I've never done before and I don't think I'll ever buy bitcoin or any crypto asset using my card even after CBN has lifted the ban. Aside the government writing to the exchange to get the comprehensive list of crypto users so that they can be taxed, I also feel buying crypto with my card also reveals to the government that I'm a crypto user. I could be wrong, but for dis reason ah no go like use card bcuz ah no wan pay tax. Grin
I no know the kind spirit wey dey inside Naija people way everybody the like dodge paying of taxes, this ban way the government don lift if no be the tax side of it wey follow I know say by now plenty persons go don the use their bank cards and cheque books to the wire transaction of bitcoin for bank. I no go blame the people on one side, the government no the try sef, nothing for the economy and welfare services and infrastructures wey go suppose motivate person to pay tax nothing like that wey dey for the country from even the VAT and other indirect taxes we the pay. As for me say the p2p still dey working then I no see the use of bank as a more suitable alternative to me in my bitcoin transactions.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 01, 2024, 09:48:25 PM
First, before you go on to  hating yourself because you are not making profits in your gambling why not stop to ask yourself will my hating of myself due to my persistent gambling losses change anything in the results in my future gambling or everything will still be static. Hating oneself because of gambling losses which obviously this is not within your control it's like leaving the cause to attack the effect. The cause of your losing is that you're gambling, so why don't you stop gambling and see how you will not be losing your money anymore. Very simple right? Yeah!
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC likely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs on May 23 on: February 01, 2024, 09:30:10 PM
Yes, I actually saw it this morning.  I wanted to share with you but today came and saw that you shared it bro thanks.  In fact, brother, I have seen a few days in the morning that if it is approved, then the minimum price will go to four thousand dollars.  We are hopeful and.  Very soon it will be approved because btc has become apu if it happens then it is very good for crypto for our marketplace.
Although this is a welcome development for cryptocurrency seeing an appointed date for ethereum approval and more interesting the date is just within this year 2023 same year the bitcoin spot ETF got approved. Something I learned from the approval of the bitcoin ETF the price after the approval humbled a lot of investors who were so optimistic with sudden expectations of bitcoin price soaring high up to $100k immediately approved but that didn't happen it's rather in the future the positive effect of the bitcoin ETF approval will start surfacing in the bitcoin price, in same vein with the ethereum ETF approval most of these speculative prices may not be met not even the $4k mark. The benefits to ETF approval is in a  long term time to come. My point of view though.
