381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nasty Sell Walls are killing the free cryptomarket on: March 25, 2019, 12:11:52 AM
Price manipulation isn't an entirely new thing and since cryptocurrency is still largely unregulated its running rampant across the entire market so unless you're equipped with your own professional tool set for day trading and ample capital you're basically unable to compete, but that doesn't mean there's a lack of opportunities if your patient in accumulating early enough and then taking profits once an asset becomes sufficiently over bought because you'll likely come off winning

383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A new look to KYC, from a customer's perspective. on: March 23, 2019, 05:10:40 AM
KYC is essential for compliance and for startups to prove their team consists of authentic professionals who have the skills required to get their idea off the ground and achieve success, and it's also important for investors who are committing capital to be able to verify who they are investing in and what qualifications and experience they have so it's wise to check if this has been approved before you invest in any new ventures
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay Calm, IEOs aren't a threat on: March 23, 2019, 03:15:21 AM
You are right in the sense that if Initial Exchange Offerings (IEO's) do catch on they may lead to a re-surge in crowdsales for innovative startups and this will be healthy for the entire market not just this type of crowd funding solution, and because due diligence will be conducted by reputable exchanges and higher standards will be required the end result may be increased consumer confidence once again in a lagging market
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Listing kills a coin? on: March 23, 2019, 01:10:34 AM
Listing on a secondary market doesn't necessarily destroy a coins value, but if it does it's normally because of a variety of reasons, including investors who purchased at a huge discount, bounty hunters and advisors cashing out, poor performance by the project itself or market manipulation which are just some of the reasons, but it can be a great opportunity to buy in cheaply once you've determined an asset has reached maximum oversell in value provided it's a solid project with strong potential to increase its user base and adoption
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoins are on the up on: March 23, 2019, 12:12:21 AM
It's certainly enjoyed a healthy appreciation so far but further improvements may depend on how well the market performs from the second quarter which is anyones guess at this stage although it appears to have good support at this price range and might improve a little bit and if it does the halving event may add to the current increase in value so you'll likely not lose if you're accumulating wisely
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risk of Proof-of-Stake Coins on: March 22, 2019, 04:23:57 AM
Proof-of-stake cryptocurrencies have been around for a while now with some of them achieving prominent positions in the market and coins that are more evenly distributed such as Dash are not very susceptible to 51% attacks, although if too many holders keep their assets on exchanges there can be a risk of exchange manipulation but besides that they aren't a bad investment proposition as this technology still hasn't been superseded
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the future of cryptocurrencies.... on: March 22, 2019, 12:55:35 AM
If you invested pre-bubble you wouldn't have accumulated your portfolio at a bad time because that was when assets were at good value so you shouldn't be far from breaking even and there shouldn't be any need to worry unnecessarily, although there may not be another bubble type scenario at least not for a while when more mainstream adoption occurs, you probably won't be in a losing position as the market slowly recovers toward a more appropriate cap but always diversify your investments and adapt your strategy to market trends
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All about bounty payments and its effect to the project on: March 22, 2019, 12:03:09 AM
Purchasing after a crowdsale has concluded can have its benefits if the price drops substantially and this is usually caused by early investors who purchased at a significant discount, bounty hunters or advisors and any of these groups could have an impact on the value however, some projects use periodic or algorithmic distribution to decrease the chances of dumping once secondary markets open for trading
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be aware, so many scam coins are around on: March 21, 2019, 02:48:58 AM
Always be wary of anything that sounds too good to be true in cryptocurrency and this encompasses everything from new forks, protocols and masternodes or whatever other trend is likely to gain traction even if they claim to be community driven ventures like the first one, and if you're hesitant to invest simply wait until the project matures before committing any capital and you'll likely avoid any pitfalls
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eth coin prices slowly rising again? on: March 21, 2019, 01:46:17 AM
The value has obviously not improved yet since the network was upgraded and considering theoretically there should be less sell pressure due to lower block rewards and a decrease in sell-offs from crowdsales it should be able to appreciate when the market picks up again and not get dumped much further so I wouldn't worry about this too much from a medium to long term perspective especially if more interest in a futures product for this asset develops
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Capitalization on: March 21, 2019, 12:52:08 AM
The current market capitalization is based predominantly on what consumers perceive cryptocurrency to be worth because the market is still driven primarily by retail investors, although a growing percentage of the volume is being traded by institution based funds and investment products, add to this the recent bubble factor and you'll find the market is oversold but that doesn't mean it won't appreciate once again as adoption increases and sentiment improves
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money off cryptocurrency? on: March 20, 2019, 06:02:36 AM
This is one of the main risks that cannot be overcome yet as exchanges are largely self-regulated and can pretty much do whatever they want and there's little recourse for users if something goes wrong apart from appealing to support which isn't always very helpful so just make sure you only use the most reputable exchanges if you're trading large amounts or if it's a lesser known exchange then don't make big deposits and only trade small amounts to lower the risks and you should be fine
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO New format scam on: March 20, 2019, 02:16:00 AM
You can avoid all of this simply by investing once the crowdsale has been completed and the token has been listed for trading that way you won't be risking as much from investing up front or having to wait for a refund if it fails to reach softcap or for another reason, and you'll likely be able to acquire assets at a discount once the market has reached a nominal value in these conditions which only requires patience
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 icos on: March 19, 2019, 05:51:13 AM
It's best to do as much research as you can into what's on offer and just remember that the market is still considered to be in a crypto winter stage so you might fare better if you put together a portfolio of top ranked assets as opposed to committing capital to crowdsales as these aren't necessarily going to provide a decent return on investment unless they're a super trendy Security Token Offering (STO) or Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) that has lots of demand both pre and post sale
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency: A Personal Race on: March 19, 2019, 03:20:30 AM
From an investment perspective, it's likely you'll succeed in the long run if you study the market trends thoroughly and not just use technical analysis to discover what strategies might work best in the current market climate and then shape your portfolio accordingly and be patient when you invest rather than chasing quick profits from pump and dumps, overly hyped projects and all the other ploys that newcomers can get caught up in and you'll likely have a better chance of success
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Campaigns going into extinction? on: March 19, 2019, 01:19:27 AM
Bounty campaigns will likely exist provided there's a need for marketing and generation of 'hype' on social media without any initial outlay and the larger Initial Exchange Offerings (IEO's) hosted by Binance or Bittrex and the likes that don't require this type of promotion usually already have a recognizable brand or a well established market presence with their own marketing team

399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung Galaxy S10 Blockchain Wallet Supports Ethereum, not Bitcoin on: March 17, 2019, 10:46:45 AM
This is fantastic news for cryptocurrency adoption and especially good for Ethereum in terms of increasing brand awareness, expanding its user base and developing more use cases for tokenized assets, but it's a surprising move that Bitcoin wasn't added and hopefully it will be supported in the future along with other major assets to make mobile portfolio's more secure
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 8 privacy coin on: March 17, 2019, 09:27:10 AM
A bit surprised to see Cloak featured in that list as it's not considered to be a "top" privacy coin anymore and there's no mention of Grin which is a new community driven project who've just decided to expand upon their development team and there's even more well established projects in the running now to add new privacy features to their currencies so it'll be interesting to see how the list might look by the end of the year
