381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TOR] Torcoin - X11 PoW - Tor Integrated Crypto - Torcoin.org on: June 17, 2017, 09:53:37 PM
Looks like the coin is almost dead, price used to be around $1, now is  $0.002427.

That is what you get for lying about privacy and taking Tor's logos without even notifying them
382  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-17] What is an Atomic Swap? on: June 17, 2017, 09:48:55 PM
In the world of cryptocurrency, there is a strong focus on how different ecosystems seemingly compete with one another. It always appears to be Bitcoin against the rest of the markets. When atomic swaps will be introduced, that situation could change rather quickly. The objective of atomic swaps is to create interoperability between altcoins and Bitcoin. It is expected this feature will be introduced by the Lightning Network.

383  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-17] Litecoin’s “Chickun” Awakens as LTC Price Heads Toward $40 on: June 17, 2017, 09:47:57 PM
The past 48 hours have been rather impressive for Litecoin to say the least. Now that Bitcoin and Ethereum are stuck in sideways limbo action, other coins are gaining a lot of interest. Litecoin is one of those currencies, which results in a hefty value increase. Right now, one LTC is valued at $38.2, and it seems the trading volume is still picking up the intensity as we speak.

Many Litecoin enthusiasts refer to the currency as either a rock or a “chickun.” As most people are well aware of, chickens don’t fly all that well. Litecoin’s chickun may be an exception in this regard, as the currency is soaring to new highs as of right now.  That is rather remarkable, as very few people expected an LTC price increase at this point in time. Then again, the price has been somewhat suppressed for quite some time now.

With over $1 billion trading volume in 24-hours, one cannot deny the success of Litecoin right now. Unfortunately, we have seen several LTC price rises over the past few months, which never lasted all that long. It is unclear if this new upward trend will be sustained in the long run, though. If the trading volume stays as high as it is right now, things are looking quite good for Litecoin.

It is always interesting to see where this sudden increase in trading volume is coming from. According to Coinmarketcap, the Chinese and Korean cryptocurrency traders are pushing the LTC value to over $42.5 right now. The first non-Asian exchange on the list is Poloniex, which values LTC at $38.5 right now. It also appears GDAX and BTC-E are bringing in some nice USD trading volume, which is always good to see.

384  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-17] Ignore the State’s Coming Blockchain Grab. Be Happy Libertarians on: June 17, 2017, 09:40:46 PM
A May 30th article in the Atlantic declared, “Cryptocurrency Might be a Path to Authoritarianism. Extreme libertarians built blockchain to decentralize government and corporate power. It could consolidate their control instead.”

The article distorts important points but it raises a valid concern.Ignore the State's Coming Blockchain Grab. Be Happy Libertarians Namely, bitcoin and the blockchain have “attracted banks, governments, and corporations.” A digital currency under their control could be a stride toward a cashless society in which all white market transactions are tracked by avaricious banks, states and corporations. It could usher in unprecedented financial control.

No wonder savvy politicians like Putin are fascinated by cryptocurrencies…that is, as long as the stumbling block of pseudonymity can be removed. Putin has been meeting with the founder of Ethereum with the reported goal of making some form of ether Russia’s national cryptocurrency. Statists have awoken to the power of the blockchain which would make their usurpation of money and power more efficient.

Cryptocurrencies allow individuals to sidestep the state. Can states also use them to impose economic and social control on individuals? To some degree, of course they can. Technology is extremely adaptable. But converting bitcoin into a tool of the state encounters a stiff barrier. Government-issued currency (fiat) and the institutions attending it (central banks) are designed to serve the state and social control. Bitcoin is designed to serve individuals and freedom. The “square block in a round hole” problem arises.

385  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-17] Helicopter Money Policy by Central Banks Will Benefit Global... on: June 17, 2017, 09:34:50 PM
Helicopter Money Policy by Central Banks Will Benefit Global Cryptocurrency Adoption

More money in circulation will ultimately lead to more investments in cryptocurrencies.

A lot people wonder where the sudden interest in cryptocurrencies is coming from. Rising prices certainly help to raise more awareness. However,it appears the global central bank woes are the biggest driving factor right now. Up until recently, demand for Bitcoin was small other than from a  speculative point of view. A recent Federal Reserve decision will drive more people to cryptocurrency in the future. Central banks are making the swithc to Bitcoin a lot easier these days.

It is evident central banks around the world are slowly losing an uphill battle. Consumers are less eager to trust banks, for obvious reasons. Moreover, despite plenty of evidence suggesting otherwise, central banks feel printing more money is always the solution. Helicopter money has always been ineffective, now more than ever before. When financial turmoil occurs, investors do not buy bonds anymore. Instead, they flock to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

386  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-17] Major Bitcoin Exchanges Become Main Targets of Cyberattacks on: June 17, 2017, 09:30:32 PM
As the popularity of bitcoin is rising, trading platforms will be surely targeted by hackers because of the huge amount going in and out of it So if I were the trading platforms, I will also raised the level of my security so that hackers will find it difficult to hack my system. Hire competent support personnel to watch over your servers. Its for your own business protection and your customers as well as we are talking huge amount of money here.

So far there are only DDOS attacks that are an annoyance but don't compromise funds or user's data, and only cause mayhem and fear, with no real effect.

389  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $3000 on: June 17, 2017, 07:36:03 PM
$3000 is an important mark for Bitcoin, the price already failed to go above it and some say there will be another dump when the price recovers to $3100.

I don't think $3000 will be broken for good before August
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 17, 2017, 07:32:24 PM
BItcoin looks to be recovering a bit today. LTC is on a tear (for Litecoin of course). While everything has been volatile again at the end of the week zcoin has made very little headlines with its big gains.

I would like to see Bitcoin make it back to steady $2700s again...

There seems to be a pattern of weekend Bitcoin pumps developing, as opposed to the weekend dumps we used to get. I still don't understand the reason for it as no fiat gets sent to exchanges while the banks are closed over the weekend.

People expect weekend dumps, then they sell everything before the weekend, causing a crash.
They see the price bottoming and buy back because no pump happened, causing a pump in price.

That is how weekend dumps become weekend pumps
391  Economy / Speculation / Re: drop of the value... any reasons? on: June 17, 2017, 07:27:57 PM
Now most coins are on the rise again.

This is manipulation, some whales are profiting largely from this

393  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: DILMACOIN - CAMPANHA DE ASSINATURA! on: June 17, 2017, 07:20:06 PM

394  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 17, 2017, 07:12:41 PM
It is me or the price is gravitating around $2666?
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best cheapest currency !? on: June 17, 2017, 07:09:50 PM
LTC is under bitstamp acceptance and lightning network hype and testing new ATH's, for some days will be the best coin to make some bucks
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Etheroll WTF? on: June 17, 2017, 07:07:46 PM
Just woke up to see Etheroll marketcap uo 1113.87% in the last 24 hours, according to coinmarketcap, and according to the market cap graph the peak could very well be 10x the current value, even if for a short period of time.

Any idea wtf is happening with this coin?

398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a pump and dump? on: June 17, 2017, 04:23:46 AM
Yes, just look how many premined coins, they have everything they need for a dump.

It already is being dumped, in fact, but slowly.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Quick. Name your top 3 coins that will be x100 in a year on: June 17, 2017, 04:20:05 AM

400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC is the next pump, buy before moon landing!!!!! on: June 17, 2017, 04:19:28 AM
Just a LTC on Bitstamp pump this valuation, won't last long, at least in the short term.
