How the hell does anybody invest that type of money in crypto

He's probably factoring in his anticipated gain as part of his loss.  A better number might be the basis of the investment.

Haven't compared w/ edited versions yet, but here's the initial (unedited) "Personal Note about Tonight" post; as always, I used Bitcoinwisdom to time stamp the posting - note UTC time at bottom of Bitfinex chart:

Mr Felt's post:

Sweet!  I love it when people jeopardize the attorney-client privilege.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.msg10331147#msg10331147

Forced them to change the wording removing seeing emails etc. effect was immediately after that was posted.  Homero without a doubt sits here F5'ing to "see what they are saying about him". Paranoid punk.

Only the attorney has an obligation of confidentiality under attorney/client privilege. The client or his associates can divulge whatever they wish. Whether such disclosures are advisable is another matter.

Nope (tbf, this may vary by jurisdiction).  If an attorney provides confidential legal advice (in the form of an opinion letter for instance) and if the client then reveals that confidential advice with a third party (shares the opinion letter), the privilege can be waived as to that subject matter (document). Here's a simple run down: http://www.northwestern.edu/general-counsel/faqs/privilege.html

So it looks like the SEC is right up deep in Josh's ass finally.

Of course, Josh and co will LIE hard to make it sound like something else that is favorable to them.  Typical really.

Sweet!  I love it when people jeopardize the attorney-client privilege.

Few things

1. If GAW hired Carol, good on them. Should have done it months ago.

2. If she told them to shut down the miners because they're being sold as illegal securities (or some other reason) and they followed her advice, also good on them.

3. I doubt Carol would be too thrilled about the way this was announced, which gives me some doubt.  Maybe they have a first meeting scheduled (just a guess based on nothing but personal experience in knowing how clients/prospective clients sometimes speak w/o the appropriate precision).

4. Carol is a banking/payments/transactional attorney, not a litigator (this gives me some doubt about #2 - I don't think she's a securities attorney). She would not be helping GAW sue anybody - another attorney in her firm might, though (none of their litigators seem to have a defamation/first amendment practice, but I haven't looked that closely).

EDIT 1: How convenient - https://hashtalk.org/topic/30653/joe-mordica-resigned-as-cto/5 - Here are the three amigos (JG, E, and JM) hanging on the beach: http://imgur.com/HoUcZQh

EDIT 2: Obviously, there are major problems w/ this story from jg. What explains the similar shit storm w/ his teleco business?  See my last few posts if you need a refresher.

8 days without phone is nothing. Try surviving 3 months on 1 satoshi.

So looks like GAW might be folding for real this time. I wonder what the official excuse is going to be. Will there be some compensation for Genesis owners or not.

Possibly.  Certainly looks like troubles are reverberating throughout all of GAW's businesses.  Here is a pic of Platterpus' Facebook page - note some of their recent postings:

I feel bad for his phone service customers.  Outrageous.

Even BitJane is confused.

His silence speaks volumes.

For you know very well that the day of the Lord GAWD will come like a thief in the night.

9.9/10 - Solid use of GAWD in a sentence, excellent use of imagery to match scripture word play.

One of Gaw's biggest mistakes is banning customers and investors from hashtalk.  You take their money and then shut them down when they ask questions or make comments you don't like ... hello.
Nothing like adding fuel to the fire. These unhappy campers have no choice but to vent and discuss in other venues like btctalk, gethashing, reddit, etc.

They complain about btctalk over at hashtalk but they created their own monsters.

Not too bright.

Couldn't agree more.

Heavy handed and draconian modding and suppression of legitimate questions serve only to create a hidden swell of resentment that will ultimately break out and be X times worse than if the problems/questions/issues had been handled at the earliest possible point.

"Draconian" is a great word. Would tip you some doge if there was a bot here.

Really?

Do not understand the question, perhaps you have the rocks? ProTip - you can probably shake them out if you hang around here a little bit and lay off the sauce at HT.

Let's also look at Garza's little brother, Carlos. It could be argued he did a lot of Josh's dirty work for him in regards to the B2B/reseller base. The screen grab below from October 29th, 2014, which is already within the public domain, set the stage for why the bulk of the resellers bailed on GAW after being left with no viable price protection "after the fact". It also plays in to the period GAW first showed signs of money troubles and their need to move on to the next phase of the scheme.

Scott-

Well, I can't bring myself to assume carlos even exists. Likewise, I don't think I can assume some of the other gaw people even exist.  Its not a far fetched concern either.  Alex Green turned out to be a completely fabricated identity.

EDIT - lots of self moderation today, apparently.
393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: January 29, 2015, 05:39:04 PM
Ya know what, stop me if I'm getting out of hand, but here's my scoop after think big pictures. Homero said payouts were partially coming from day trading. Zencloud used to offer a program where if you would just KEEP money in there, you would be paid a % of that in HashPoints. That makes sense now that you think about it right? I used to trade stocks, and the more money you have, even if the market is going against your position, you get more bulletproof as you have more money to take your average price down. This is where things get interesting.  Bitcoin goes tits up. Homero, who has been trading Bitcoin to enable payouts, gets absolutely hosed. He has to cancel Hashlet payouts. His mining farm from Bitmain he was buying or renting is absolute garbage now. He liquidates the mining farm. He said on twitter he was selling his "farms" right when the Bitmain Christmas deal went up for 1.9 ph/s and then he deleted his twitter post about it. A company needs money. Selling the farm gave him some breathing room to come up with another plan to save this "business". Insert Paycoin2 scam here. Instead of getting no returns mining 1 satoshi for 24 hours, you can mine this "store credit HashPoints". The only thing HashPoints could be used for is Paycoin2 (code name Hash Coin). Gaw buys some more time, meanwhile probably making back some money he lost in the market by being an idiot. The HashStakers are a great sell to noobs and idiots who think they can buy them and then resell them for more like they did with Hashlets early on. They cost nothing. Uh oh, some looming lawsuits are coming from all the fraud I've been committing lately hyping this paycoin2 shit. Need to liquidate more money to pay for expensive good lawyers who tell me to scrub all the evidence of my stupid mouth off the internet. Meanwhile, GAW has employees that need to be paid. Eric and Joe knew that this was coming down fast and they all knew of the investigation coming. They jump ship. Too bad the captain can't. I'm sure I missed something but that is a pretty good speculation.

All of that is accurate, except for about 95% of it... Shame though, because you were really onto something.

I will say the following, to address your statement at the end. One thing I am comfortably saying publicly, is that nobody in the company had all the pieces to the puzzle except the one who envisioned it all. It's as if that was the intention all along, only share the bare minimum with whom and of what was needed to build it. Even those of us in the "upper echelon" were totally in the dark on many of the "finer details". I am prepared to show any authority who asks, it was immediately upon learning those finer details that moved my hand on resigning. The only regret I carry is how long it took me to see the big picture.

My leaving had nothing to do with rumors of pending investigations as I had already resigned before that was even a topic. I am not a fool, if there is an investigation underway, my leaving doesn't waive my past involvement. I also know that I can confidently answer to anyone who asks that I always stood by what I felt was right.

Hope you guys are having an awesome week.

Not going to argue the truth or falsity of eric's statement.  I do want to highlight something he said though: "One thing I am comfortably saying publicly, is that nobody in the company had all the pieces to the puzzle except the one who envisioned it all. It's as if that was the intention all along, only share the bare minimum with whom and of what was needed to build it. Even those of us in the "upper echelon" were totally in the dark on many of the "finer details". "

This is the exact same excuse all the Moolah employees gave when the co when tits up. Think about it.  The people that state this type of thing have to be in one of two camps: they're lying or not lying about what the knew.  If they are not lying, then they are extremely gullible and overly trusting to a major fault, to put it nicely.  Not a good situation either way.
394  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: January 29, 2015, 05:32:43 PM

Good lawyers wouldn't tell him to try to scrub the evidence off the internet.

Based on what I have seen, he either does not now have (nor ever had) "good lawyers", or he does not now (nor ever did) take their advice.

Right.  Google "Spoliation of evidence" and/or "duty to preserve."
395  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: January 28, 2015, 05:22:36 AM
For those of you who were not around for the HashFast situation, I'd encourage you to look over that history (there are a few good threads on this forum). You might find a direct way out - it may not make you whole, but it might make you better off than waiting for someone else - including gaw/paybase - to make the next move. Remember, he definition of insolvency is the inability to pay debts when they become due.  There appears to be a lot of debts that are currently due (i.e., customer claims, missing coins, etc.) and they also appear to be unpayable.
396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: January 28, 2015, 02:24:15 AM

Good answer. I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm just surprised this is the first time seeing it.

I'm  not sure what it means either.  Just thought it was interesting and that I'd share w/ others interested in conducting distributed due diligence for the current and prospective xpy bag holders.

Not sure whether this has been covered here, scroll down to section of this article called 'A Riot' : http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-02/bitcoin-bets-feed-twitter-dreams-as-regulators-circle.html  (note the date of this article).

I just cant believe CF would give this guy/gaw a dime - they seem aware of regulatory complexities RE: digital currency. There's something here, I think, that just doesn't add up - and it extends to Fraser personally.  No way he falls for this crap either.
399  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners Paybase Paycoin unofficial uncensored discussion.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: January 28, 2015, 01:45:09 AM

Where did Josh find these guys though? A church forum? He is finding these weak minded individuals somehow..

Someone on here alluded to the fact that religion had something to do with it all but never posted more info... I can't recall who, but it was a few days ago I think... I even asked the poster what he meant, but don't recall seeing a reply.

I really wish I knew, I really do. Hopefully it all comes out in the end as well...  Undecided

Finally... Paycoin ICO investor comes forward. Yep, that one http://clearpoint.org/index.php/component/k2/item/5-adam-matlack

For those of you who still believe.

If you don’t already know me, my name is Adam Matlack. I have been a customer and investor in GAW since week one of its launch. I’ve participated in every single product release GAW has offered; Gridseed 5chips, Blades, Zues, Vault Breakers, Hashlets, and Hashtakers. With every product I’ve ordered from GAW they came through and managed to either fulfill the order or make it right through reimbursement.

In September along with some close friends I launched the reseller You Can Mine. We tried to offer the best support possible and help get outsiders involved in Mining. Obviously this didn’t last too long due to the discontinuation of the VAR program but I truly hope we were able to offer a solid service to those who purchased from us.

Then along came Paycoin. I’m tired of reading all of the FUD over the fact that no investors have come forward stating that they participated in the ICO of XPY. Let me first say that I don’t blame any individual who wants to remain anonymous when it comes to their finances and I totally understand why most are choosing to stay silent. So just to be clear, I participated in the ICO with GAW for a substantial amount, along with also acquiring a Prime controller. I have not sold a single Paycoin on the open market since its creation.

Now brings us to today. As regrettable as some aspects of this coins launch have been, I still have complete faith that this coin and the community that surrounds it can help the world realize the vast potential of crypto in general. On a personal note, as I’ve come to know Josh and the GAW family more extensively it has only been made more clear by the day, that they are a unique group of hard working individuals who definitely have flaws (just like the rest of us) but they believe in their projects and the work they put into them. And if my level of investment doesn’t show my obvious belief in GAW and Paycoin I want to insure you that I absolutely believe in this coin and this company.

For those of you who still believe, you are not alone.

You forgot: Disciple-Maker, Economist, Historian, Designer, and generalist.

I'd love to know what he designs and as a generalist he seems to lack competency in common sense as he hasn't sold a single paycoin.

This is where it gets interesting. https://www.linkedin.com/pub/adam-matlack/68/532/540

Executive Pastor
Clearpoint church
August 2012 – Present (2 years 6 months)

So I am to believe that a pastor, albeit executive(whatever the hell that even means) pastor, at a 2 bit church in Texas for the last 2 1/2 years has enough money to be one of Josh's VC's in not only paycoins but in the purchase of a Prime Controller? Either he's a koolaid guzzling sot brainwashed by Josh or else he's had his large, sticky fingers in that basket they send around every Sunday and misappropriating large sums of that churches funds.

And looky looky who Adam's friends are on Google+:

Josh Garza
Eric Capuano
Joe Mordica
Carlos Garza
Maurizio Cavalieri(Maursader)

Look around and all the same names pop up linked to each other via GAW. It's as if they don't and never had many other friends. Many are from Texas. I understand co-workers are friendly but you just don't link to all of them. Way too weird and definitely cultish.

2 bit church?! You've obviously never seen a Texas mega-church, lol. By the looks of the pictures, Clearpoint Church looks like a mega-church. And Pasadena Texas is a suburb of Houston which is the 4th largest city in the US. A pastor at a church like that could easily earn a healthy 6 figure income.

Btw, I'm not defending the guy. I hate organized religion, Texas and Paycoin in equal measures!  Wink

They have a total of 5 employees and 5 trustees. Suddenly today, Adam is no longer listed as Executive Pastor but as Communications Director. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume Communications Director means he set up and maintains their website as he has IT experience. Now let's look at how large a task that must be.

Global rank 14,082,485. Declined 1,781,651 positions versus the previous 3 months.

You still think this is a mega church where he's is pulling down a 6 figure salary? I want to know where all the money is coming from. Could the congregation be unknowing "investors" in GAW?
