Listing a house for 85BTC (400,000$+ atm) indicates that this person have some money at the first place. Instead of gambling with what he can afford to lose, he gables with everything he owns. There are no words to describe his stupidity.

Can you customize this for an Altcoin instead of using Bitcoin? I want to buy this and I want it customized.
Depends on altcoin but for most coins I can do it. Let me know what you need exactly

I just saw this. I will stay skeptic until confirmed news. I mean it's possible. Remember when the fake news about Steam accepting Bitcoins appeared? Nobody was believing that Steam was going to accept Bitcoin, then it got confirmed as fake, but eventually news arose again and guess what, everyone said it was fake news again, but it happened for real. So what this means is, don't think it's fake because it may actually be true and if it's true we are going $10,000 easy. Well you can't really compare number of people using Steam and Amazon. I believe that they do want to accept Bitcoin at some point but just image legal stuff that they are required to do, especially in the US

I own Trezor so i can speak only for that wallet. It does not only protect your private keys but you are peotected against other methods of attack too. Before you can send tx you must confirm it with device with ability to check address. Also pin numbers ae scrambled so even if your pc is infected or someone is watching your screen, your money is safe.

Thanks for all the replies guys Also, I've heard that Trezor 2 is coming soon - do you think it's worth waiting? They say that Trezor 2 will mainly hold a lot more currencies but based on same security features as Trezor 1. If you only care about Bitcoin you can buy it now, if not wait for 2 and see what it will offer

|
|
many thx But keep in mind that when you are storing Ethereum and other ERC-20 tokens, there is no integrated trezor wallet (mytrezor interface) so you must use myetherwallet

He is a banker, it's how they make money. Shit talk, buy. Drive stock prices down, buy. When the time is right sell. Profit. I mean it's not like he cares about the accusation anyway.

Volatility is a problem for currency that is widely accepted. Bitcoin is more like gold at this point. There are other coins that should be used as currency (have better technology) but Bitcoin is just too integrated into markets at this point.

Huge part of bitcoin mining community are in fact Chinese people. If they ban mining it will be a huge trowback for the network
|
|
|
not very close. It all comes down to fees. If fees are low people may just start using it for paying for food etc. That way it will become common knowledge.

If there are no taxes then everyone must have a role that person must fulfill in order for that to work. Knowing how people really behave that is possible only in theory. Someone would just feel lazy in practice

- SegWit2x is an attack on Bitcoin, designed to move control of the software design from the developers into the hands of the miners.
- The blocksize should not be increased until all other measures to make the network more efficient have been exhausted (Lightning Network, Schnorr Signatures, MAST,
etc.)
I don't understand that is wrong with both of these ? I mean it's okay for me that miners are the ones deciding how it should be since they are the one confirming transactions. About that second point, yeah Lightning network would be great byt blockchain size increase is the easiest fix right now.

Just a friendly advice. If you cannot follow simple installation instructions why are you running a pool ? You expect profit ? I mean if you are not a web developer don't do this. Saw the same thing happen many times, unexperienced guy running a pool, something breaks, miner's money gone.
|
|

Segwit is here but not many people is actually using it so it does not have large impact as of yet. Transaction fees are (were) really low because there were not a lot of transactions in the mempool. For instance just a few days ago you could send transaction with 1 sat/b tx fee and it would go trough. Now (in the time of writing) you need at least 161 sat/b in order for your transaction to be included in the next block.

What is exactly a fake cryptocurrency? Did they promised to deliver a coin only to grab money and never intended to deliver a coin? Or was the problem the lack of a license Well they probably consider fake coins same ones that we call here shitcoins. Switzerland is already the number one country for all banking, looks like they will be the number one for cryptocurrencies as well. Smart move by them.

Payment API is available for almost a year but still no one uses it. Because it's still to complicated. This is the explanation for the usage: "At this stage, customers will need to download the browser extension and signal what payment methods they use.
In other words, merchants need to build websites that acknowledge the new payment methods, while users need to have wallets that "speak the protocol that we're writing," Jacobs said. "That’s how the ecosystem pieces together the merchant-side and the user-side."
But still it's good to see Google working on accepting BTC. Still hard to image how it will be done since they say Payment Request is not a payment processor. They just forward data to the merchant so if that is the case what is the point ?
