381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problems adjusting GPU clocks (and more) on Windows 10 miner on: March 25, 2017, 04:21:52 AM
Thanks, philipma

- Asus Prime B250M-Plus as mobo

- MSI RX470 Gaming X 4Gb as GPUs

- Yes, only the miner runs, and it crashes after a few seconds of mining. Sometimes it has time to find a share, but eventually the screen will refresh, "GPU error" will appear on the miner window, and the computer will freeze.

- It might be the BIOS, but I find it very improbable: on Simpleminer they run perfectly
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Problems adjusting GPU clocks (and more) on Windows 10 miner on: March 25, 2017, 03:26:36 AM
Hello guys. I've been struggling with a lot of problems setting up a headless Windows 10 miner with RX470 cards. As a lot of people do the same thing every day, I am sure I must be missing something minor and stupid. The machine works flawlessly on Simpleminer OS (Linux), but as I am needing it for extra tasks, I need Win 10. What I did:

- Installed Windows 10
- Installed Motherboard and GPU drivers
- Updated AMD software to 16.9.2
- Installed Afterburner
- I have around WattTool and GPU-Z as well to use them if needed
- Installed TeamViewer to use it headlessly (I spent days until I realized that Windows Remote Desktop messes with GPUs)
- Modded GPUs BIOS
- No GPUs were recognized in AMD software while using TeamViewer, so I purchased a dummy HDMI plug

Now the problems:

* If I plug the HDMI dummy on the motherboard HDMI plug, I can run Claymore miners, but the clock settings I introduce in the miners (1100/2000) are just not working and GPUs will work at stock speeds

* If I plug the HDMI dummy on any of the HDMI of the GPUs, I can use either WattTool or AMD settings (Whattman?) to adjust everything, but Claymore miners will crash immediately and Windows will show a message that display had to be restarted. Computer will freeze

* I plug the dummy on a GPU, change the settings, then plug it on the motherboard and then run Claymore miners: that works and my cards go OCed. However, as soon as I restart the computer, clock settings return to default.

* Afterburner sliders only allow me to change memory clock, not core clock or fans or anything else (they are locked). Even if I unlock everything on settings menu and activate the unofficial OC on the config file of afterburner

* Claymore miners almost never show GPU temperatures. Neither Afterburner, GPU-Z or WattTool. Only on AMD settings program.

I am totally lost. I just want to change the clocks of my cards and check temperatures: if it is on miner software better, but if not on any software. What I am doing wrong? Is maybe AMD settings (Whattman?) interfering with the rest of the software?. If you don't know what I am doing wrong, could you please give me a detailed list of what to install and setup and in which order ro run a Windows 10 miner (headless)?

Thank you very much in advance
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Radeon™ RX 470 Gaming, 4GB GDDR5, 256-bit on: March 23, 2017, 10:47:01 PM
after you change the timing what clock rates do you run I haven't tried it yet but was thinking of it I'm running a little over 20 on stock clocks but if I can mod the timings and get to 27-28 that's a big difference

I find the "sweet spot" at Core: 1100, Memory: 2000
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Radeon™ RX 470 Gaming, 4GB GDDR5, 256-bit on: March 23, 2017, 09:21:21 PM
Hynix you copy the 1500 timings to all higher timings, while with Samsung, you copy from 1750.

Thank you!!!! Yep, now I see my problem with my Samsungs is that I was copying the 1500 timings as well, and for that reason my cards were refusing to run beyond 1875 and I was maxing them at 25-26 MHashes. I was going to experiment this weekend precisely copying the 1625 or 1750 timings, but now you have saved my time. Thanks again ;-)
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Radeon™ RX 470 Gaming, 4GB GDDR5, 256-bit on: March 22, 2017, 02:35:01 PM
Hello! I am completely satisfied with these cards, I own 5 of them. My particular model is the RX 470 Gaming X 4GB (note the "X") but probably the non-X will perform similarly. Good construction and probably the best radiator and fans available out there for RX470 cards, from what I have read. I run them OCed with a target Temperature of 68C and only one of my cards will need to spin fans to 50-60%, and even at that speeds they are very quiet (I sleep in the same room as my miners). As Philima, I run rigs of only 3 cards.

Just note that there are at least two versions of the card: une with Hynix memory and other with Samsumg memory. Out of the box, Hynix do 20 MHs and Samsung ones 22 MHs. Tweaking memory and core clocks: 22 Hynix and 24 Samsung (thanks Philipma, I copied your settings from a different thread! :-P). And after flashing the BIOS and tweaking clocks the Hynix performs at 27/28MHs and the Samsung at 25/26 (Linux/Windows) consuming something about 120-130W/card.

I hope I have helped you!
386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Blackarrow X3 Issues on: December 11, 2015, 11:23:27 PM
Hello, Shades.

I had a X-1.5 unit with a similar problem: no connection and refused to update the firmware with the microSD card with the Rockchip software. Finally I discovered that the problem was with the microSD card: I was trying to use a 32Gb that apparently is too new for the hardware. Then I bought the cheapest 4Gb card I found on eBay and the upgrade tool during reboot worked flawlessly and the Prospero came back to life. I use the 1.17 software version. And remember to physically unplug the miner with the flashed card inside a few seconds instead of simply rebooting for the upgrade.

I hope this can help you!
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinwallet continues its giveaway/spam by revealing hundreds of private keys on: September 10, 2015, 06:44:18 PM
Don't do it guys, if you manage to get bitcoins from this you essentially spam attack your own wallet, if you have bitcoins already in your wallet it might become unusable. Some people are going to screw themselves with this I'm sure.

That is a very good argument. As people is contributing to the attack due to their greed, we should use this as the primary argument: Is for the sake of their own wallets
388  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: CoinWallet.eu Stress Test Cancelled + Bitcoin Giveaway on: September 10, 2015, 06:40:51 PM
Don't use these keys, guys. Don't do it.

1- For your own sake: If you include those keys in your wallet, as spending those mBTC will implicate a very big and unmanageable transaction your whole wallet can potentially become unusable.

2- For the sake of your wallet provider, as you are saturating their operations

3- For the sake of Bitcoin, as you are contributing to an attack to the bitcoin network

The possibilities of claiming successfully those keys are minimal and most probably you will find that someone else has already claimed them.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinwallet continues its giveaway/spam by revealing hundreds of private keys on: September 10, 2015, 06:08:04 PM
I think the motivations of coinwallet are not promoting the blocksize limit. As apparently they even don't exist as a service, thus they are using that excuse to simply attack the Bitcoin

In only 24 hours after the start of the "giveaway", the unconfirmed transactions pool is saturated, every block is ~1Mb, and soon nodes and online wallets will face problems. The giveaway will be performed only today, but as people will keep trying to claim those coins, the problem will last several days, even weeks. The bitcoin network is under attack, and as a community we should react and minimize its effects. This spam attack is based and works thanks to the greed of users, so unfortunately we can't cut the origin of the problem...

But there are for sure some things we can do and I am thinking about something very simple: I suggest the mods to ban the coinwallet.eu user, to close their giveaway topic and prevent any future attempt to publish those private keys. I know that technically they are not doing anything illegal. Technically. But every minute those keys are available, more and more users will attempt to claim them the next days. So I think we should prevent more inexperienced people to put those keys in their wallets, making the problem keep growing
390  Other / Off-topic / Re: The biggest XT shills and their true motives on: August 21, 2015, 07:00:44 PM
The fun thing is, when XT will fail, there will be a sudden bump back to Bitcoin that could invite dubious investors  Grin

XT can be around for a loooooong time before going bust you know?

Besides, even if the adoption is slow and takes months or years, there is no reason for XT adopters to return to the core code or mining pools: both clients use the same blockchain and the same Bitcoin. It makes no difference right now.

Personally I don't think core devs will accept BIP101 or a block size increase, so probably when the 1MB limit is reached (and we are close, some blocks are 900kb right now) and increased fees become necessary, many people will adopt XT immediately.
391  Other / Off-topic / Re: The biggest XT shills and their true motives on: August 21, 2015, 05:10:14 AM
Is this the list of heretics of the XT? Please, add me ASAP.

I am a miner that have never run a full node. But now I have acquired a Raspberry Pi only for running 24/7 a XT node and I have pointed my miners to the XT port of Slush pool.

That indicates I have oblivious intentions as supporting a democratic control of the Bitcoin and makes me certainly a danger for the Bitcoin community, the establishment and the humanity. I deserve to be in that list, clearly.

PS: I like the idea of all this history to be considered as "the XT heresy" 😊
392  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 28, 2015, 04:21:40 PM
Just to clarify it again, in case it is not clear enough, I am not supporting this company in any way. I just purchased a product and I plan to share the final outcome of it. People presented their arguments against the company and I presented my reasons. I’m being attacked and I defended myself. Nothing more, nothing less. I remark this, as I am realizing that Bicknellski is insisting on the idea that I am a shill account of the company one time, and other, and other just to create that sensation and convince a mod to ban my account and delete my posts.

I will not continue this debate until I know the final outcome. I will make updates as soon as I have them. But this debate is pointless and I don’t have infinite time to it. And above everything, I value my peace of mind and my ability to sleep well by night, and this things affect me: I am serious on everything I write, the same as it was a verbal debate. I will only answer 2 things of notlist3d as I respect him a lot:

But take me up on the challange.  You say Zeus is real and on market?  You say it's running in data center full of them!

No I didn't say that data centers exist, I just suggested that as a possibilility. If they mainly ended in non-western markets I think it will be difficult to find reviews or pics, as Google do not index all chinesse pages, for example.

I want to see proof of payment such as someone paying in BTC, where we can trace it.  I find it funny that a letter they want us to accept as they ordered it.

Both purchases were made by BTC transfer, and my original idea was to post them as well. However, as it was delicate info and I pretended to do things correctly, I asked them permission to disclose that info. They allowed me to publish the order confirmation and invoices, but not the btc transfer because <<it is a document confirming a purchase. Distributing such information is regulated by Tax and Customs Board and without their approval it is forbidden to publish financial operations>>. It is really a pity I am not allowed to do so, and personally I don't think is the right way to do things, but in any trade agreement both parts have to agree to disclose that info. So it is their decision. Besides, by doing it I would break the terms and conditions, thus risking my purchase. And remember: in this stuff MY money is the only thing at risk.

Finally, I think I will not post anymore in the forum for a time. After I was treated here, I think that this community doesn’t deserve my help and my ideas. Frankly, I expected much more. I will make this follow-up of the purchase, just because I said I would do it. But I think I am mostly done here. I am really sad.

Happy mining, guys
393  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 28, 2015, 01:56:27 PM
I don't see why you are so angry over questions being asked.  Instead of a page long answer find pictures of Zeus that is not stock.  Or better yet find one single review Zeus.  Just one review that shows it working and I will say I was wrong.

No, I'm not angry at all, don't worry! We are just debating Smiley But this debate it's driving me to act as the attorney of Hashcoins, and that is far far away from my intentions. Hashcoins will have to prove they are legit, and in my case this will happen once I recieve the boards I ordered. If I recieve them I will be very happy, I'll share pics here, I'll write a nice review and even I will order more boards. If not, I will publish that here, I will create a thread "Hashcoins  have ****ed us!!!!" and I will make good use of the European Union laws of costumers protection.

But yes, there is one that have made me angry:

Bicknellski, your behaviour is far beyond the acceptable even for a forum, where you can hide behind your nickname to defame people. I have been using arguments, including a proof of purchase, even offering to include more proofs of identity, relating to my posting history where you can find long and high quality threads (maybe the hashrate analysis was too complex to you?). But you have ignored all the arguments and took the easy way of trolling: not mentioning my name, speaking in generic about shill marketing like including me on that and even using a quotation from Hamlet to dress your post with style. And the concerning thing is that you are a Hero member of the forum that run a guide of Trustworthyness that claims to be ethic. You are trolling a newbie user, what makes you twice evil. If I was you I would be ashamed to use my condition to such things.

At this point, I am not sure if you are simply a troll that eventually is a hero member and eventually tries tu run a company guide. Or maybe you have a secret agenda and particular economic interests in this forum. Maybe you are a happy HC costumer that wants to prevent more people to buy and thus prevent an increse of demand and thus of prices. Or more simply, you are in this forum not to help people, but to manipulate them to drive them to buy gear from a particular company (no need to mention which) where you have economic interests. In any case, refusing to use arguments makes me thing you have something behind the scenes
394  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 28, 2015, 06:15:49 AM
OK lets take the Apollo miner to start with. Here is something that was basically a couple of hashfast boards strapped into a PC case. Not hard, should be able to sell loads right?

Check this forum, its got some of the most prolific home and small business community miners around, and how many enthusiasts got an Apollo? None, zilch, nada.

OK check ebay, check ebay history, see how many Apollo miners got sold there once they became inefficient, can you guess? Not one. Check the for sale forum here, none there either.

I will bet there is not a big data center of Zeus macines.... this is a silly thing to say.  Zeus was never sent to dogie, I believe they said they were going to do a blade or something and just never happened (please correct me if I'm wrong Dogie).

If they shipped them a picture would have ended up here or somewhere else.  There simply just is not a Zeus out there.   If you find the data center of them please take a picture for us.

That it is not completely true. Some examples I found on a simple Google search:

- https://bitcointa.lk/threads/hashfast-0-7-th-hashcoins-apollo-miner-for-sale.337630/ Someone selling his Apollo miner on a different forum, overpiced, but selling it.

- http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HashCoins-Zeus-3-5-TH-s_50016105616.html A malaysian distributor reselling Zeus in batches of 50 on Alibaba

- http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/HashCoins-Zeus-3-5-TH-s_50015407806.html . An australian distributor reselling Zeus in batches of 3 on Alibaba

Can they be scams as well? They can, but as Alibaba acts as an escrow I see it pointless. Are they using mining chips from other companies? No doubt, they are probably simple OEMs, but actually I don't care as long as they sell a functional miner. Are out there many previous gen miners? Clearly not: maybe they manufactured few units, or sold them in bulk to few costumers, or simply they werent able to sell them due to high prices and they are using the stock for the cloud mining facility apparently they own.

Is everything a big and long term elaborated scam? It may be as you are the experts and me the poor scammed costumer. Or maybe not and I will recieve my orders. At this point we don't know: there are points that suggest they are legit, and points that suggest they have no real activity. At this point we can't discern it, so maybe is pointless keep discussing it. So by my side, I will just wait and update in this thread any news about my orders. But...

unfortunately, 'scam' is the default position a company will find themselves in because so many companies turned out to be thus.

... I simply reject that idea, I don't aprove that. Personally I find it destructive for the community. Do we have to be cautionous? Of course! But accusing of scam any new company of user just because they arrive with something new favors only the stablished companies. In the time I've been here (28 posts) I have been already acussed 2 times. one in this thread and other one just because I wrote a guide of the Prospero X-1.5 miner.

Following that principle, I should mistrust users that accuse companies of scam, because they can be scamming in turn the company. I should mistrust reviews and opinions because they can be attemps to manipulate new users. I should mistrust the whole Bitcoin Talk because it could be an elaborated manipulation to stablish a duopoly Bitmain-Spoondolies. Very destructive attitude
395  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cost break downs of Mining rigs? on: April 27, 2015, 07:24:02 PM
This page, for example: http://www.vnbitcoin.org/bitcoincalculator.php Not all the miners are included, but it is a very complete calculator in my opinion
396  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 27, 2015, 05:26:11 PM
They are yet to show a Zeus which isn't that impressive, but I don't think they have shown a single one.  Only one they have sold in BTC has A1 level efficiency which is not good.

It is also interesting how many low level activity people they get to by orders.  With all orders I've seen being to low level accounts, makes me wonder ... just is a odd thing to keep happening.

Jade is spot on with the chip.  They should be shipping any day with Q1 ending.  But no company has this chip currently.  Some are working on it very hard, but I think other bigger companies will have the chips needed done far before hashcoin would ever have their own.

I admit the issue of the Zeus concerns me as well. Maybe it is true they never developed it, maybe they sold it mainly to non-users of this forum. I don't imagine owners of Chinese data centers (or Russians, as it looks like it is one of their target markets) posting their experience here. But the rest of the data looks correct and legit: more than one year selling gear, they participate in conferences, no threads of angry users, 2 testing units sent to Dogie, realistic price labels on their miners... But in the other hand a lot of noise, a lot of concerned people that have not purchased miners from them. Sometimes I think in this forum people participate in a race to be the first to make a scam accusation on every new thing that moves around.

Please, don't be confused, I don't pretend to be an attorney of the company. I'm just indicating the reasons that took me to buy hardware from them, as I have been accused of taking fees from the company. If I'm finally scammed (I hope not) I will be the first to create a thread titled "Hashcoins have ***ed us!!!". At this point I only pretend to probe that I am a final consumer as the rest. I don't have a Hero condition as many here, but I have a good posting history to support me. And if I can add more proofs I would be happy to do it (don't ask me for my Social Security Number or my wallet private keys, of course  Roll Eyes )

EDIT--> To Biffa: May your concerns be appropriate. May my reasons be appropriate as well. The good news is that we will know relatively soon how the company works  Smiley. Everybody take their risks when buying a miner, even if you buy from Antminer you don't know if Bitcoin value will drop a 90% the following day. Each one takes different degrees of risk depending on how much money they can risk or the particular needs of the user. In my case, I live in a tiny apartment: I can't manage a big and noisy miner producing tons of heat. I can't host a mining operation with a mess of cables from the PSU as I have frequent visits of friends and landlords and I don't like questions about it. $2200 in 4 boards is a bunch of money, but I can afford it and if I loose it, my life will not be compromised
397  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 27, 2015, 04:35:02 PM
you miss one important point: that 510 Gh/s 0.28W Miner does not exist. If it would exist it would lead the Industry Chart. almost ALL Company's fail to achieve
the w/ghs  the projected. Some of them dramatically. Also long as we don't see them IRL i vote that it is another Unicorn.

And then we go to another very interesting debate: Do you really think that we, the private miners, will have access to the next-gen ASICs of the big manufacturers?

That ASICs exist, I don't have any doubt. Companies as KNC and Bitfury have develop new efficient asics. Any news about the release of a final consumer miner? No, in spite they announce in their webpage their brand new technologies. These companies nowadays run their business raising millions of dollars from private capital ventures. Those are long-term investments, so I guess their plan is to produce miners to mine with them privately. They no longer need purchases to be viable. And what about other companies as Bitmain? It has been a long time since they started selling the S5, and what is their brand new miner? A revised S4, even less efficient than the S5. I'm sure they have more efficient asics developed and mining for themselves, but as long as there is a demand of 0.5 W/Ghs we won't touch them.

So I think we will only see next-gen miners from small or medium companies that need preorders and actual purchases to have balanced bills. Companies as Sfards, Hashcoins and others. Both if they develop their own technologies or license technologies from others.

Besides this interesting debate, due to my particular mining requirements (home miner in a small apartment, mid-priced electricity) the Triton is the only solution suitable for me. And the Avalon 4.1, maybe. I took a risk buying them, all of us take our own risks, but after studying the company, I think they will honor my purchase.
398  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 27, 2015, 03:44:11 PM
Remember the names of the people pushing yet another over priced product, for a fee, and it fails to be delivered on time to any specification mentioned by HashCoins you make sure to not believe it the next time the same people spin some other dubious fabricator.

What amount of money are you going to spend on something that can't even break even? The denial in this thread is palatable. Avoid this product and company until they produce a unit that is reviewed by someone other than Adam Allcock preferable someone that doesn't buy and sell product ratings.

If you are going to make such bold statements suggesting I'm receiving some kind of fee or that the miners are overpriced, I suggest you support that statements with proofs or detailed arguments. Otherwise people will think you are just trolling or that you have a personal interest different than helping people.

Maybe you are one of those fortunate people with access to free electricity. The rest of us have to look at efficiencies if we want to play this game. Particularly, a single Triton board pointed to a pool like Clevermining will generate 0.0054 BTC per day. Transformed to the world of bitcoin miners, is like having a 510 Gh/s miner that consumes 144 Watts. In other words, is like having a 0.28 W/Ghs miner. Do you still think they are overpriced?
399  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ANN] HashCoins - Cryptocurrency Mining Hardware Manufacturer on: April 27, 2015, 02:39:02 PM
To be clear I'm talking about the SHA256 miners not the scrypt miners which shouldn't even be a topic of discussion in this part of the forum.

In spite I have purchased scrypt miners, what I am talking is about the company Hashcoins. As this is the official thread, for me it makes sense to post here and not anywhere else. Besides, as Dogie and Notlist says, I think when a manufacturer sells both types of miners or dual machines it is better to have all the conversation in the same place. The ideal solution would be to have a “Manufacturers” sub-forum independent of Bitcoin and Alts, but this is not the case…

Q1 is pretty much done, if they do not come out with something soon or at least log in here and say something they will almost certainly be labeled as a scam for sure.

I agree it would be nice seeing them over here actively and sharing news and updates. However I can’t blame them. If I was running a small but honest company that have been honoring purchases, but in a forum I saw nothing but negative and aggressive comments of people that are not even clients, probably I would refuse to keep posting there and continue to run my business communicating with my clients through the rest of channels.

In spite of that silence, for my peace of mind I see that the company has not gone dark and makes progresses: The real pics of the Uranus, they launched last week a new cloud mining service, they agreed when I asked permission to share the Order Confirmation… Apparently they keep moving forward.
400  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Possible fraud on 2 ebay avalon 4.1 auctions. on: April 25, 2015, 05:28:58 PM
Sad to hear that it was finally a fraud. What a shame, considering the seller has a long selling history (in jewelry, of course).

Fortunately eBay works and protects the buyer, but it is a shame you have wasted your time and expectations in this case  Cry
