Good question. It would be great if we could release something next year, but we still have to develop the exact roadmap and how it is with roadmaps in crypto/software development, it often ends up not being accurate. The younger the project, the more difficult to predict an exact release date.

However here is what we will develop in the next weeks:

The next month will be fully dedicated to creating a solid game's base. This includes:
- Creating the game scenario (board) and the overall rules.
- Defining card attributes and values.

These steps are very important and require heavy testing and balancing in order to guarantee for a hooking game experience.

The weeks after, we will be able to:
- Create the card design.
- Do deeper work on the game mechanics, implement factions and balance them accordingly.

During all of that time we also are working on developing the lore in which the game plays.

Because Counterparty does not fork every week. 

Just kidding. Well, Counterparty has the most advanced infrastructure and best user experience for creating and trading tokens.

Also, ETH's network is turing-complete, making it subject to the halting problem, which ultimately could lead to a breakdown of the network. Counterparty instead is chained to Bitcoin, which in itself is a turing-incomplete network.

If people want to start selling their card now for $12 worth of XCP or BTC on the Dex, they are free to do so. There will be enough people happy to buy the cards off of them at that price and to hodl them.

Everyone may give up their card at whatever price they want. Sooner or later my personal guess is that the cards likely will start selling out at the Tier 5 price and beyond and people that have sold their cards at whatever price below will most likely regret it. The way this card sale is organized in our opinion much better creates a natural price discovery of the card than if we would lock the market up. If Tier 5 takes months to sell out, that is fine. A locked up market would not do any better in such case and in fact would leave those people that already participated out in the blue about their investment for an uncertain time.

Of course, there is no guarantee of how the price of the cards will develop and we do not make any guarantees of future price developments of the cards.

We are currently a team of three:

Our technical lead developer has multiple years of experience in creating video games and a special interest for VR. I previously already have worked with him back in 2014 for a startup called Eversnap in Silicon Valley, where we became good friends.

Our game balance designer has a long history as an avid trading card game player and is deeply involved in the Hearthstone community. He very well understands it to create unique and lovable game mechanics.

I myself can be seen of as filling the "CEO" role if you wish. In earlier days I have created a startup that focused on helping video game developers to drive attention to their game by connecting them to video gaming focused YouTubers who would then, in a contest style, publish videos on their YouTube channel about the respective game. I passed the Founder Institute startup launch program as one of three graduates but my continuously rising passion for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology ultimately captured all my time. I am also one of the managers of the Divvy DAO, where we are creating a development platform for interoperable DAOs.
