I'd really like to see you participate in my community project to sign labels for the Encyclopedia.

+1  Makers that participate in community projects instead of just trying to profit from the community are much appreciated.

I vouch for this too, it would be awesome to have BTCC included in the signature edition. Smiley

Thanks guys.  I feel like at this point I'm begging them.  Its clear they don't wish to participate anymore, despite Bobby replying once to me by PM and providing me his personal email, asking for more specifics.   The door is always open BTCC, but I wont bug you anymore.

It would have been nice to have BTCC participate in something that 31 (and possibly more to come) other coin makers are joining in on.  Its something that the entire community can do together so we can have something tangible and a little more personal of our fellow bitcointalk members.

I might also add that every single member that was given an opportunity for a donation once I start doing orders, requested that their donation be given to charity, when given the option to keep it.  I've also seen goodness from everyone helping out minerjones' relatives recently due to a fire.

Sorry for the rant...

Please email me again.  (I get so much email, so much filtering going on, sometimes it gets lost...  I'm not a big fan of email!)

I'm not sure what you need from me.  A mailing address?  I thought we gave you one already?

thanks,
Bobby

Coin ideas, mmmmh, my name is coin@coin for a reason LOL

Precious metals I agree with BTCC here, anything to have them shipped safely and without killing it on customs fees I'm in favour.

Maybe other metals like brass, copper, various others which are unusual but could be original. Have you considered plating in silver, gold, antique brass, etc?
2 or 3 coins sets in different finishes, seems to be getting some traction from several current manufacturers. Plating shouldn't be an issue for shipping.

Have you seen the Satoricoin? Why don't you release some inexpensive "Casino Chip" like BTCC coins with low amounts, sold in sets of 10 or 20.
With some really cool designs! I'd love some of these.

Smaller denominations are best for my pockets too.

No comment!  Smiley  Haha... here are my thoughts to share with you all:

Many people know that poker is my hobby...  There's a very important (long-term) reason why our One Bitcoin was 43 mm in size.
(Hint: what size are casino chips?  The LARGE denomination ones?)

So what's next from BTCC Mint?  Wink

I think I've mentioned this before but a 12.5 BTC set made up of 5 coins with different denominations: 0.50, 1, 2, 4, 5 BTC, all from the same block totalling 12.5 BTC,
and if block reward is over 12.5 one of the coins gets the extra, each set will have slightly different BTC amount.

It's an interesting idea, but my worry is that we won't sell enough volume to justify producing them.

3 stars 12.5 BTC Blocks, but as someone else mentioned, even 1 BTC blocks or smaller denomination sets of blocks.

I like the idea of smaller denomination sets too from as low as 0.05 up to 1 BTC.

Also seen you guys can mint, some limited edition sets especially in lower denominations following a theme or an event... with different designs, numbered.
Animal series, zodiacal signs series, Chinese calendar series, PokemonGo series... I mean so many ideas out there. Can even have a form on your site to submit ideas the better ones get a prize Smiley

Also don't forget your coins look pretty nice I am so sure many would be willing to buy BTCC DIY coins.

Oh and finally "block rewards on demand". Someone pays for a 12.5 block or even 5 BTC, or 1... And they can specify the address where it is sent to.
They get the coin or block with hologram (DIY version) and they assemble it themselves.

Yes, for sure, we'll have the BTC12.5+ Bitcoin Blocks.  Come back on August 8.

As for smaller denomination blocks, what's the appeal?  Or wait 4 years until the next block halving and get your BTC6.25+ Bitcoin Blocks!  Smiley

thanks,
Bobby

Low denomination coins. Bring in a .1 and .01.

Coins are great but its time for something new. I would like to see 1oz silver bars with bitcoins and half holo wrapping.

moonrock

what's the half holo wrapping?
387  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: August 04, 2016, 05:06:07 AM
I've cast my vote and I'd love to see a 5 coin set of the lower denominations.

For example a 0.01 btc, 0.05 btc, 0.1 btc, 0.25 btc and 0.5 btc coin in a wooden box (just like the 5x5 btc set). Titanium bars (for example 1 BTC) would be cool as well.

Please help me understand:
What would be the appeal of a "1 BTC Titanium Bar"?  Doesn't the 1 BTC Titanium coin already cover that?

The only "bar" we have is the BTC25+ "nugget", Bitcoin Block.
(We'll soon start selling the BTC12.5+ version....)

These are all "full blocks", the full bitcoin block reward.

What would be the appeal of having just 1 BTC in a "bar"?

thanks,
Bobby

I'm sure bitcoin halves are coming?  Smiley

Maybe!  If there's interest...   Wink
389  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: August 04, 2016, 05:02:24 AM
Also, please don't flood your coins. Releasing many types of coins in a short space is going to kill the secondary market.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by this?

390  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: August 04, 2016, 04:59:49 AM
Are 12.5 bitcoin blocks in your current plans?

Yes!  We'll announce it on August 8, and start selling them right away.  Smiley

391  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: August 03, 2016, 06:24:22 PM
I would love to see a Platinum 1BTC coin released. I do not think anyone has dropped a Platinum coin yet.

The problem with Platinum is similar to the use of Gold and Silver, which I have mentioned before:

Essentially, certain countries have very strict restrictions on the import and export of precious metals, such as Gold and Silver.  The countries I can think of are USA and China, and possibly many more.  These rules affect our exporting (from China), and will affect how your country receives them via customs.  This is especially true of the precious metals get made into "coin" form, which could trigger real money mintage and currency issuance issues (regulatory and legal liabilities).

Basically, I foresee this as a whole mess that we really don't want to get into (unless we were our own government and had the banking of a central bank!)

Your thoughts?

Or, hope to get your understanding on this matter... that we're almost never going to be able to make and sell coins made of Gold, Silver, or Platinum.

The only exception would be for us to make them, and you come over here to pick them up in Shanghai.  For that, the production run would be really limited, and the costs and premiums could be quite high.

Now, if there's enough interest, anything is possible.  If you guys really want it, please help gather people, pre-order, and we can consider doing a custom run for really low volumes, so that everything is pre-sold and paid for, and never listed on the store.

thanks,
Bobby
392  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Poll] What lower denominations for BTCC Mint coins? on: August 03, 2016, 06:17:39 PM
I voted for 3 options, 0.1BTC, 0.25BTC, and 0.5BTC.

After reading TheNewAnons comment in the other thread, a set of 5 coins, presented in something luxurious, would be the my top choice, if it was available. Going in denominations from 0.01BTC ( or similar ) to 0.5BTC. This will leave the set open to people who just cannot afford to spend 6BTC on one of your 5BTC coins. I would love one, but feel that it is a lot of BTC to tie up in one coin.

Thanks for asking for our opinions Bobby Smiley

How much in BTC premium are you (or others) willing to pay for such an arrangement?

the reason we're able to make the 5-set of the Five Bitcoin so nice (nice large coin in Titanium, nice big wooden box, and full packaging experience) is because of the relatively large premium we're charging.

If customers cannot afford to pay a premium, then it won't justify the custom molds and limited runs.

So help us do the math:  what denominations, and what total price?
(I have a feeling that if we do make this, people will complain that whatever we eventually charge is too high...  What do you think?)

thanks,
Bobby
393  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Poll] What lower denominations for BTCC Mint coins? on: August 03, 2016, 06:14:17 PM
How about custom transaction only coins.

If a block pays you 12.76 for example make a .24btc coin and use the coinbase (12.5) for your other coins.  I dont know every idea is getting beat to death

That's a new idea!  Certainly, every such coin would be unique (much like the Bitcoin Block themselves)...

But would anyone be interested in buying them?  It's like a complete gamble, as every "coin" will be of different size practically.

We can certainly do it... but is it just novelty?
394  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Ideas] What's next for BTCC Mint? on: August 03, 2016, 04:59:42 PM
Some lower denomination coins would make your products more accessible to people here who can't afford whole coins.

Specific suggestions please?  Smiley

Do a poll here asking what people would prefer for a low denomination coin and then go with the majority.  I'm not sure what the sweet spot is between peoples wallets and making it worth your time so make the poll in a way that serves your ability to stay in business. Smiley

Great idea!

Lots of people have suggested and asked for lower denominations from BTCC Mint.

Now it's time to serve the other end of the market!  Smiley

397  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Rare extra-large Bitcoin Block from BTCC Mint, w/ 26+ BTC, NO RESERVE! on: August 03, 2016, 04:42:14 PM
Will any of those artist proof 1 BTC coin be for sale? :O

Maybe.... some full disclosure:

They're made in January of 2016, a gold-plated alloy (not quite sure if it was copper or bronze or some other combo).
It's certainly gold in color, but it can wear off easily after enough physical handling.  Further, the hologram was made where the address was laser-etched onto it (instead of black ink spray).  The downside is that it's hard to see the bitcoin address on the hologram sticker, and can potentially wear off over time.  Don't worry, the private key will still remain intact behind the hologram sticker.

If there's interest, we can sell or auction a few of the ones we have left.  Many have been redeemed in our testing process.

thanks,
Bobby

Bitcoin Block, 2015 N Series:

Total made: 16

thanks,
Bobby

What's happening with the error block?
Are the 2015 N blocks going to be sold?  (Bars labeled as 2015?)

Also, when are the 12.5 blocks gonna be made/sold?

We may sell the error block later, via auction.

The 2015 N Blocks will also be sold soon.  Yes, the bars are indeed labeled as 2015.
They're already made, but we haven't had time yet to properly photograph them.  We'll add them to store ASAP, but they will carry a slight premium over the 2016 N blocks.

12.5 blocks will also be sold, probably starting in early August.

thanks,
Bobby

We will auction the 2016 error block (double funded from blocks 418419 and 418427) if there is enough interest.

The bidding will start at BTC60 (increments of BTC0.1) if there are at least 5 people interested in this auction.

Let me know!

thanks,
Bobby
