381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many altcoins are actually worth something? on: December 25, 2018, 12:22:37 PM
it is hard to say because you would have to go through all of the altcoins and hand pick only those that are truly good and not just shitcoins in disguise and as someone who has done it with a lot of coins and gotten disappointed in 99.999% of the times i have to say that the best guess would be around 10 or less altcoins that are actually worth something. the rest are all in bubbles.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merry Bitcoin Xmas to all you Hodlers! on: December 25, 2018, 12:12:24 PM
happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates it all around the world Tongue

the real celebration however will come afterwards on January 3 when bitcoin celebrates its 10th birthday which would be the mark of it being around and strongly growing for a decade.
i am so happy to be in the groundfloor of this great technology.
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin? on: December 25, 2018, 12:04:23 PM
  • UI/UX/user-friendliness: Bitcoin might be easy enough to use for most of us here, but it's definitely not for non-tech savvy people(e.g. our grandparents). Especially with the handling of private keys; I don't think we can expect true global adoption if people needs to backup their recovery seed on pieces of paper.

maybe it is just me but i think this is no longer the case with bitcoin. it used to be a lot more complicated to use it before but nowadays there are just too many wallet alternatives and many of them are pretty easy to use specially the web accounts such as coinbase are very newbie friendly and they can even buy bitcoin through them.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let me be clear to you, this is not a Bear Martket! on: December 25, 2018, 11:54:42 AM
keep telling yourself that

what you are to young to understand is that your spams on bitcointalk don't make a thing in the market at all. and yet you continue to tire your fingers spamming the same nonsense here every day Grin
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you make money on Stablecoins? on: December 22, 2018, 08:39:36 AM
stable coins are just another fancy coin for a special type of altcoins. and these coins are exactly like many other altcoins but mainly like the centralized altcoins. they are unregulated, with no guarantee, with high risk and nobody is going to be obligated to exchange them for fiat. even the most popular one (Tether aka USDT) is clearly stating that they are not responsible nor guarantee conversion between tether and fiat.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This Brazilian Bank Is Using Ethereum to Issue a Stablecoin on: December 22, 2018, 08:26:55 AM
the bank has to actually be so broke and desperate to do something so pathetic like this.

if you look at other banks there are about a couple of dozens of them working on adopting the blockchain technology for themselves and adapting it to their own systems and create a new stand alone coin they can control. not bank in their right mind would ever rely on another token that can go any direction that their devs choose! that is a huge risk.but when they create their own coin they can direct it any direction THEY want.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is Developing a Cryptocurrency on: December 22, 2018, 08:12:25 AM
cryptocurrency?!!!
whatsapp belongs to facebook, the token is going to be used inside whatsapp only and it is created by facebook. so why call it a "cryptocurrency" where it is just an IOU token that funds your application inside their centralized database. not to mention that when we are talking about centralized tokens usage of blockchain technology is very inefficient.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: "What will ACTIVATE the next BULL RUN?" - CZ Binance on: December 22, 2018, 07:56:54 AM
based on what i have been seeing the market is currently filled with a lot of wounded newbies who are trying so hard to make an exit while recovering a small part of what they have lost so far.

this means any altcoin price rise is most probably is a dead cat bounce because these newbie bag holders will dump their bags. additionally there are whales who are letting the other newbies fill the order books before the dump.

with all that said there won't be any "bull run" for a long time in altcoin market because of the sell pressure plus the fact that there are no new/fresh newbies with money coming in to help the pumps anymore.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Africans Are Not Embracing Blockchain - Crypto ! on: December 22, 2018, 07:47:39 AM
ICOs don't mean the countries are embracing the blockchain technology. in fact the more ICOs some country has the more it shows that there are more scumbags in that  country who don't have any interest in the blockchain technology and are instead interested in making fiat money from the newbies who fall for their scam.

as for Africans i believe they are the ones that have embraced blockchain technology and mainly bitcoin since the usage of bitcoin as a currency (the only true way to use it) is happening there more than anywhere else.
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF you were/are living on BTC/Crypto. Is buying mining equipment dead? Take Poll on: December 22, 2018, 07:39:42 AM
when it comes to mining your profitability is determined mostly with electricity cost so if i had a cheap electricity cost (it is actually cheap but not the cheapest and also here the value goes up with usage, meaning with a high electricity usage the price will be more in $/kwh) i would continue sticking to mining bitcoin, specially now that the hashrate is lower and i (as a small time miner) would be able to earn more with the same hashrate that i had before because of difficulty adjustment.
of course it is because i believe in bitcoin's long term potential and even if i were living on bitcoin i would still have some leftover BTC which i could store.
391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin become antiquated and lose its first mover advantage? on: December 22, 2018, 07:32:13 AM
something that is brand new is not going to be obsolete in its early days. and whenever we are talking about a new technology that is also improving then your question sounds very silly!
you are basically asking if the newest technology in the world of finance is going to become obsolete!
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let's prepare for the worst on: December 22, 2018, 07:22:55 AM
things will surely turn around but good things never comes easily .

if you believe that then you should be buying bitcoin right now instead of wasting your time day dreaming about a price drop that may not even happen.
but it seems to me like you are just saying it to have said something positive about bitcoin and its future price while saying it is going to drop.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The market is making very few projects list their token on exchange on: December 16, 2018, 01:37:09 PM
ever since the first exchange in history was created many years ago  they were always listing assets that could make THEM the most money not anything that exists.

so in case of altcoins and tokens they coin they list might very well be a useless shitcoin but as long as it has a high enough volume to give them a good profit covering the costs of adding said new coin they will do it. otherwise they won't.
it is as simple as that!
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Look At Cryptocurrencie's Market Cap In Comparison on: December 16, 2018, 01:19:44 PM
  • XRP is the cheapest and faster payment method.

no it is not because you are comparing apples and oranges. if you want to compare decentralized payment systems then don't include centralized ones in your list. compare Ripple with its counterparts such as VISA and PayPal which are similarly centralized and are companies.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that market is oversold and bounceback soon? on: December 16, 2018, 01:12:52 PM
it is never easy to say. for all the past 12 months we have had some people who were speculating that the price at that time was the last of the dumps and the bottom. (they even called it oversold back then too)!
but each time we see the dump continue.

so all i can be sure about is that there is no pump coming yet and until i see the pumps i wouldn't start going in any altcoin.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining vs Buying on: December 16, 2018, 12:51:38 PM
if you can mine bitcoin then it is the easiest way of earning a passive income of bitcoin. but that requires some little amount of maintenance and also will only work if you have a lower tier electricity cost.
with the new developments you can also start running your full node and with lightning network gaining more popularity you can set an LN node and earn some fees through that too.

as for buying my preference is investing in bitcoin rather than trading it and i believe that is the best way of it. trading is best done with altcoins since their potential is only short term.
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 💰 I want to SeLL my GiRLfRieNd to buy more aLtCoiNs!!!! 💰 on: December 15, 2018, 08:01:31 AM
in this market of pump and dumps there is a point where you realize that you are taking bigger risks that it is wise to take because of the pump and dumps!!!
sometimes people are blinded by the numbers they see that they don't see the truth of the dumps that come alongside those numbers and the large number of investors that went bankrupt because they weren't wise enough.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Chat Startup Status Lays Off 25% of Staff on: December 15, 2018, 07:45:29 AM
a lot of these so called "companies" have been facing a hard time existing because they had flawed business plans and were only hyped up because of the pumping season that lasted nearly a year last year and they were naive enough to think it can last forever so they can make money from it!
now that they are facing the reality of the dumps they have to give up their dreams and leave.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP beat ETH? on: December 15, 2018, 07:35:41 AM
Surpassed only by capitalization. I don't see any potential in this coin. In fact, it betrays all the ideas of the crypto world, I do not really like this coin and will never add it to my investment portfolio.

there really isn't that much of a difference between the two coins. both of them are heavily centralized and are controlled by their companies that are funded. both have serious issues and both are pump and dumped which makes both equally profitable for traders and equally terrible for investors.
400  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance traders are making more money than other traders on: December 15, 2018, 07:27:52 AM
making profit does NOT depend on the platform or its liquidity unless the liquidity is too low that the market is considered dead.

making profit for a trader ONLY depends on their experience in riding the market and nothing else. you only want a liquid-enough market so that it can eat up your orders without changing the price and that is true about most top exchanges and is not exclusive to Binance only.
