381  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 26, 2023, 03:49:19 PM
It's so hard to live if we're just renting, just like what you are experiencing right now. As what you've said, you can't guarantee that you can pay for rent for a long time 15 to 20 years because our conditions are not always the same. There is a "what if" in our mind that we have to consider. What if we're still be separate with my gf because we're not yet marriage? So you will be weighted if that happens.

And because I have always think of how hard renting is, I have bought a property to live for. I save so much money and you will not get scared so much if you lose a job.

It is very difficult indeed to live alone with a girlfriend without married status to determine future goals with a family, the burden on the OP is very difficult because supporting a girlfriend and meeting her needs and only relying on a basic salary will certainly make expenses not ideal.
You are a lucky person because you already have a property to live in when the economy is like the current situation, even a little food is not a problem because there are no property bills to pay every month and question whether you can pay at the end of the month or not.
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: January 26, 2023, 02:08:58 PM
As bitcoin continues on its current bullish path, all kinds of people are trying to ride this wave by buying any cheap coins they can get their hands on as they anticipate the next High to come. But the scary part about this is that Big money is also flowing into the crypto economy that will push price to easily register new highs, but this comes at a price, when these whales decide to take out their money.. markets bleed red which is why Big money is not good if volatility is to be controlled. In the long run Bitcoin is better off without the Big money, otherwise this becomes like a pyramid scheme always leaving the last man standing with empty pockets as the first guy to make a move gets all the accumulated $$$$.

What's the community's take on this?

Volatility in the crypto market is normal because based on buying and selling and supply and demand for bitcoin, every retail and institutional investor or whale has the freedom to buy whatever bitcoin they want until the balance on the exchange runs out. people who want to buy.
Bullish and Bearish are cycles in bitcoin and they cannot be separated from the market, that's why bitcoin attracts the attention of investors to buy bitcoin and determine when to buy it.
You may understand why bitcoiners always say Buy the Dip and Hold, I personally see that as a signal for bitcoin investors.
The pyramid scheme is that if you are the last buyer, maybe you will lose money forever, unlike bitcoin, there will always be price recovery with cycles and you just have to wait for the recovery.
383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 26, 2023, 12:51:22 PM
One fairly common complain among gamblers is they are allowed to make a deposit at casinos and lose their money without any issue, but if they happen to win and they want to make a withdrawal then they are hit with a KYC request almost immediately, Tonybet a fiat Estonian casino was fined more than 400,000 pounds for this practice and it seems the regulators are now interested in making reforms to the laws and force casinos to also make checks on those gamblers which have lost a lot of money.

If those new regulations are passed they will affect not only fiat casinos but cryptocurrency casinos will have to eventually follow them as well, do you agree with this idea? Would you like to see casinos to be fined more often for the practice of only asking for personal information from winning gamblers or do you think this will have a harmful effect on their finances?

Source: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/18/tonybet-fined-regulator-online-betting-id-checks-terms

I'm not sure about the security of personal data if KYC is needed for that, and in my opinion this policy carried out by gambling sites is unfair, people who have lost their money on the site do not apply anything, but lucky people win in the gambling then when you want to withdraw the money is subject to the conditions that you have to do KYC, it's as if the bookies are not willing to give the money that the gambler makes without the winner providing the data, in my opinion that's unfair.

I myself do not agree if KYC is applied to all gambling sites, especially gambling with crypto currency because I think email and cellphone numbers are enough.
If that is the case, regulations must be set to provide a middle ground for gamblers and gambling owners in UK.
384  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 26, 2023, 11:51:05 AM
it all doesn't happen because of money, you miscalculated it, although there are some because money doesn't make all crimes because of money, because crimes can be triggered by being offended or unintentional in behavior, causing conflict.
It's also not because the love of money that gives rise to many crimes makes everyone do everything for money, I think you give a negative connotation to money, the position of money is just a tool which can be obtained and used according to the owner's wishes. But indeed there are some people who do everything they can without seeing whether it is good or bad to get money, it's just a matter of themselves.

Watch Jaime Dimon's face while he tells everyone that Bitcoin is a "hyped up fraud", a "pet rock" that's going to ZERO. DON'T BELIEVE A WORD HE SAYS! Because behind that face is the CEO of J.P. Morgan, the bank that's buying Bitcoin for its wealthy clients. They want the price to be LOW so they can front-run YOU, the plebs. Don't let them do it, don't sell your Bitcoin to the billionaires, YOU should front-run THEM.

Recently I come to know that most people saying trash about bitcoin, in their mind they really knows what Bitcoin is, how valuable it is to invest bitcoin . But they do this for their selfish interests, I feel sorry for those who fall for cheap talks about bitcoin and miss a good opportunity that comes with a good benefit.  Bitcoin billionaires they knows the secret of Hodling Bitcoin for the futures.

The point is that everyone has their own views on bitcoin, especially those who listen to bitcoin from banking influencers who are deliberately made to defend their financial system and of course those who don't know bitcoin are sure they will hate bitcoin after listening to that.
Never mind, don't pay too much attention to them, they will understand when the next bitcoin owner will become the richest person in the world, what we need now is to continue to accumulate bitcoin for the long term, today bitcoin corrected 1-2%, not bad for bitcoin installments.
386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 25, 2023, 03:40:53 PM
What is interesting to watch and pay attention too is the point race between Newcastle United and Manchester United, who are in positions 3 and 4 in the English league standings, both of whom have 39 points.
Newcastle will play West Ham and Manchester United will meet Crystal Palace which last week Crystal Palace was able to offset Manchester United's match with a score of 1-1. I think I will bet on Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham this week.

The closer to the end of the league, the matches are getting more exciting for the fight for ranking in the English league standings, I'm really looking forward to tense matches.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: January 25, 2023, 02:15:34 PM
On top of that, finding the ideal house as a renter is almost impossible; there's a lack of housing, and rents are extremely expensive and unreasonable at the same time. We had a difficult time finding a house recently, and it's far from ideal. There is now a new government-funded loan program that is about to start, funding up to 75% of the loan interest-free while the rest is funded by private banks and is subject to a relatively low interest rate. This led me to think about taking a loan and purchasing an average two-bedroom apartment, but I have the concerns that I voiced earlier.
It's really a dilemma if you doubt your partner that you won't be together forever, even though if your commitment with your partner can be formed and find a way out together to buy a decent house, you can save money if your partner also works and helps each other to buy a house for both of you , I think you should not prioritize the ideal of a house especially by renting, maybe you can choose a normal rental house that only meets your work needs, so that there is money left over from your monthly income to save or invest as funds to buy a house in future.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] How ChatGPT Will Destabilize White-Collar Work on: January 25, 2023, 01:05:14 PM
I'm personally skeptical on the ability of machine learning/neural networks to fully replace humans. I think it's more likely that it will boost productivity by performing the more simple and routine tasks, but there will still be the need for human touch. People will lose jobs because now a professional will be able to do the work of 2 professionals, but AI won't do the work of all professionals.

Yes, of course AI will not take over all professional work because it has limitations in its use, only focuses on certain areas, ChatGPT is one of the AI that is projected as a search engine and human helper to facilitate human work.
Yes, today humans have professional abilities at once, but other AI will also be projected for other professional abilities, maybe AI will exist in every business sector to make it easier for business people and reduce costs that employers incur for employees, such as insurance, benefits holidays and others, of course, even someone with professional skills will face this difficult story in the future.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always shames social media experts. on: January 25, 2023, 10:17:39 AM
Through trial and error, some of them might have been predicted correctly in the past. And they have large followers that believe their analysis and follower their predictions.  One social media so-called expert recently shut down his social media platform because he predicted that bitcoin would keep falling until it goes into extinction. It was his followers that attacked him until he forcefully closed his page.

Are the analysts we've seen so far like that?
To be honest, I don't know what object you are referring to (who he is), who does the analysis of bitcoin, will become extinct.
But in my opinion, he is the person who is projected to influence the mindset of investors and especially beginners, he carries out a strategy of trusting his predictions at first to appear professional to analysts and so that many people follow him as an expert in price movement analysis. and after many people made him a trading analyst, he had influence over the people who followed him, then he really carried out his original mission to create FUD. In conclusion, he is a representative of an individual who hates bitcoin, but in the end he failed.
390  Other / Archival / Re: [POLL]What do you expect from Bitcoin in 2023? on: January 24, 2023, 05:19:55 PM
But my forecast is that this year bitcoin will not find ATH, but will experience a phase of gradual recovery according to market reactions and conditions that allow it and I want the $40,000-$50,000 price to close by the end of the year.

Too optimistic. It is unlikely that Bitcoin will close this year at such high levels. Yes, he can reach them this year, but it is unlikely to keep such a price until the end of the year. Most likely, a more realistic closing of the year will be somewhere in the region of $28,000-35,000.

Do I have to be patient again?
It looks like it has to be, it's only the beginning of 2023 and an uptick already looks like it's no wonder he hopes so.
If the ideal is $ 28,000 - $ 35,000 it's only natural with the calculations of each, this is still only the beginning of the month in January 2023 everything might happen in the world that affects the price of bitcoin which can have a bullish and bearish impact.
Regarding hope, maybe there's nothing wrong with hoping like that, but for me, I hope the market doesn't rush to be bullish because my bitcoin preparation is still a little bit. Grin
391  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 24, 2023, 04:20:55 PM

To make a living, we must work. In uncertain days like now facing the global economic downturn, a stable job with high income becomes a scarcity. A side job or business seems like more necessary than ever, which can minimize the risks of losing your current job, ending up pennyless. However, a side job/business also takes time and efforts and can never be attained whenever we need it. What did you do or will you do in order to ensure your finanical stability despite all unfavorable circumstances ?
Many side jobs are microbusinesses; nonetheless, a side job is not the same as starting a business or changing careers. It necessitates specialization. It is the most important component. Find a niche and thrive at it. When your company grows large enough, you will begin to see financial stability. It will take hours of hard work. I've been working side hustles for years, and the major motive is money, followed by the satisfaction of completing a task when I want to. I'm not bound by a strict timetable or a boss that demands that tasks be completed by a certain hour.

Specialization may be very important in this section but here we can make two focuses which are creating a new business or selling services, I often see people who already have jobs in a company they take jobs in other businesses that are part time such as restaurant waiters, coffee shop waiters or an ecommerce affiliate and I don't think it requires special specialization in a certain field, but if the side job you choose is graphic design, content creator, air conditioning service and others maybe it requires special skills to be involved in that field.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 24, 2023, 09:04:13 AM
and the money from the sale of the motorbike I will use to buy bitcoin. because in my opinion the price of bitcoin in the future will definitely rise. and also currently the market is bear, so this is a good opportunity to buy bitcoins. and I want to ask everyone, the decision I made, namely selling the motorbike and the money to buy bitcoin, is it wrong or not?

I'm ready to be corrected because I have no experience in bitcoin and crypto.

If you aren't using the 2nd one then I guess it's ok for your to sell that for bitcoin, I'm positive that bear marketing will be over soon so you can get in at a good price.

If the vehicle is no longer used and just rots in the warehouse selling it is the right decision because even if it continues to be stored it will lose its price, deciding to sell it and use it to buy bitcoin is a good decision. But if the economic situation is difficult I think more it's good to save it in cash because maybe he needs food and so on to live a life, but if all needs are met with his income, of course selling a motorbike to buy bitcoin is the right decision to diversify income.

And indeed it seems that Bearish is almost invisible, so it is suitable if you want to buy the current time. DYOR

It was expected of Tottenham to have beaten Fulham in their game tonight which happens to play out too, despite the recent form of Tottenham the have a good victorious history against their rivals Fulham and the never allowed that history to just go away, the won 1;0 which is a hard one but what is expected of a team in every game is 3point but we all know that is only one team out the two teams that can get it unless is in the case of draw where both teams share the point. Congratulation to Tottenham for a well needed victory.
Fulham were doing good until they faced Newcastle and Spurs and lost 6 points between these two teams, otherwise they would be 2 points away from ManU and in Europa League spot.
In both games Fulham lost by 1 goal. In the next round they will face Chelsea again. They won against it in the past and they might do the same thing later.
Yes Fulham played seriously in the first half until the match got better for Fulham they really dominated the game so many chances were created, but none of them resulted in a goal from the available opportunities, Tottenham also played quite great in this match, and kicks Kane from outside the penalty box was able to penetrate goalkeeper Leno in added time in the first half to become the only goal in this match until the end of the match.

I think so too, Fulham should have won against Chelsea later, but it looks like it will end in a draw.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: January 24, 2023, 06:17:36 AM
I do not have children but if I ever have them, I will teach them about Bitcoin as soon as they are old enough to understand the basics about Economics.
My family has a tradition of teaching children the importance of saving, I will continue the tradition and add some blockchain theory eventually, they may thank me in the future, since I have got the feeling decentralization will be more important than ever in the coming years.

Age really has to be an important benchmark in teaching bitcoin to children to prevent bad things from happening when they are adults, as parents it is impossible to take away their pleasant childhood with their friends with an understanding that maybe it's not the time for them to get it yet.
The tradition of saving is very good for children so that they can manage their finances and will have a sense of holding money, would you direct your child's fiat savings to become bitcoin savings? In my opinion, it is more appropriate when your child is at the high school education level to start learning bitcoin and saving in bitcoin.
395  Economy / Speculation / Re: How was your belief formed? on: January 23, 2023, 03:39:28 PM
At first it might be the same as everyone just experimenting with this latest innovation, and there might be a lot of doubts at the initial stage because it's quite difficult for beginners to buy bitcoin.
The question that often arises is what is bitcoin and what to buy bitcoin for which might have a negative connotation, but after time went by and heard a lot and I began to study bitcoin and how to buy it, in the end I was addicted even though I had given up several times because I experienced losses and let bitcoin I'm in the wallet, which in the end the price jumped, right on that day I got a profit from bitcoin and started to believe in bitcoin, if I'm not mistaken it was in 2017.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 23, 2023, 02:17:45 PM
A bad result for juventus. Juventus has been kicked to the bottom caused by the sanction and it was getting draw. It seems like that juventus's players were starting to lose their motivation. Juventus will not able to enter into the top 3. This is making the situation even more difficult for juventus.

that's very sad to see that the draw was making the gap between juventus entering the top 3 become even bigger. that's impossible for juventus to make it. 15 points were a lot.
Even though Juventus drew, I was overjoyed because the team maintained a positive mentality despite Atalanta's lead. I must admit that Atalanta played strong offensive football. However, this is bad for the Juventus season-long progress. They have now dropped 15 points. They would be unable to fulfill their season-long aim of winning the championship.

This sanction really made Juventus fall below with 15 points equal to 5 full wins, of course it is not easy and not a small thing, even though the mentality is maintained very well but how long will they maintain that mentality, the draw with Atalanta adds to the burden for Juventus because there is no get full points that should be won to add to the lost points.
Massimiliano Allegri really has to work hard and be able to push his students to be more productive and consistently win the remaining matches in the league, I'm very sorry for what happened to Juventus they had bad management.

398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price with a 4 year cycle? on: January 23, 2023, 05:24:39 AM
It seems to me that 2023 will be a recovery for bitcoin. And already after the halving. But now there is a good opportunity to buy cheap bitcoin for a long time. Even if the price drops again, it will be very good in the future. The main thing is if you buy it, don't sell it cheaper.

this year should be a good year to buy it gradually if there is a price drop in the middle of the year or the end of the year i think the cycle seems to be continuing to work and people have faith in it

The four-year cycle is indeed the foundation of long-term investors to jump into the market and it continues, so it is likely that recovery will be carried out this year as we have seen that bitcoin has been improving day by day for two weeks this month. people who have plunged at the bottom price were very lucky in the previous month.
A decline may occur in Q2 or Q3 for the price of bitcoin as a correction before continuing to increase. I think that is a natural thing in the market, I agree that gradual buying is very important to control our emotions towards the market and of course it is safer when there is a decline because we have funds left over and we can buy it at the drop time.
399  Economy / Economics / Re: A True Leader With Economic Vision. on: January 23, 2023, 04:22:09 AM
What other qualities would a leader possess to make you follow them?
In this case the leader cannot work alone to take care of all the needs of his community, which means a leader must be able to influence other people to do what he previously planned to achieve the vision and mission that has been made.
The important point in a leader, in my opinion, is that he is able to influence other people's thoughts with his thoughts.
Maybe when talking about character it will be very difficult because indeed humans have flaws and nothing is perfect but as long as a leader is smart, honest, trustworthy and brave, I think it's enough for me to feel calm being led by someone like that.

Quote
Does ones interest define the kind of leader he/she should follow?
Yes, everyone has their own leader criteria because it is based on what he wants and what he feels with the previous leader so that he will conclude which leader he thinks is good.

What a great match between arsenal and Manchester united, arsenal really showed signs of strength in this match and they was close from getting a precious point but arsenal prooved again that they are not joking about the EPL title and they will do the impossible for it, i think arsenal now is very close from the title especially if they avoid losing against man city in the next matches this will be fantastic for them
The match has a very high tension but nketiah seems to be the main key for arsenal to leave from pressure that already made by united. It can be seen from how affective he was in the club, nketiah was able to maximizing some chances and convert it into the goals. Nketiah's goal around 90' was making arsenal winning the duel with MU. MU was not playing so bad as it was also playing at emirates stadium but it seems arsenal is moer superior compared with MU this time.

It was a pretty fierce match which showed the two teams catching up with each other in that match made me think Manchaster United would beat Arsenal beforehand, Arsenal and Manchaster United almost ended in a draw but Eddie Nketiah really was the key to victory for Arsenal in the last minutes of the match the second half, he fired his shot at De Gea's goal which was considered offside or not, but it turned out not to be offside and increased the score to 3-2.

I'm looking forward to Arsenal's next game against Manchester City where Erling Haaland again picked up a hat trick against Wolves yesterday.
