Glasswalker, do you have any thoughts about how your controller compares to the Enterpoint 1.5 and upcoming 1.6 versions in regard to the power consumption issues discussed by yohan in the post referenced above?
Hope that helps.
Satisfies my itch to know. Smiley

Yes, thank you.

Latest HashVoodoo Release

Let me know your comments, and if you have any success.
Well, it appears that something went wrong during flashing on one of my two boards. (The other one is happily hashing now with dynamic clocking.)

Cannot get p2 or p3 to successfully flash. (p0 and p1 do flash and successfully verify.)

When attempted to revert the controller firmware to Enterpoint's 1.5, spiprog states that "Device NOT XC3S50AN" and asks if I've set the correct DIP Switch.

Looks like I'll have to buy a jtag cable.
(Unless someone has magic advice to offer.)

Does anyone have experience with this one:

Yes, I know I could find something cheaper via eBay, but this Amazon purchase could be delivered tomorrow. Smiley

temporarily reduce fees to 2% for DGM and 4% for PPS.
I'm happy to be, temporarily Smiley, back.

Thank you, Graet.

I assume you will soon get around to updating this page:

Of course, with the "temporarily" caveat.

2) Not tried reverting back to the enterpoint controller so I could use Makomk's bitstreams.
Stability has been really good since moving so not felt the need. Is there a reason to believe we can't revert back?
No.

Just looking for solid confirmation.

Merely looking for warm fuzzies that no bridges are being burnt. Smiley

TY for your response, Lethos.

Latest HashVoodoo Release

Controller Rev 1.6 is coming.

Glasswalker, do you have any thoughts about how your controller compares to the Enterpoint 1.5 and upcoming 1.6 versions in regard to the power consumption issues discussed by yohan in the post referenced above?
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quad XC6SLX150 Board - Initial Price £400/$640/520€ on: September 27, 2012, 02:33:09 PM
Latest HashVoodoo Release
Two questions:

1) Does anyone have duration / stability data yet for this release? I.e., is it staying up continuously for days?

2) Has it been tested reverting the controller from the 'Glasswalker' flash/firmware back to the Enterpoint 1.x flavor?

-- edit --
BTW, status report on my units' stability.

Seven days continuous operation so far with makomk's 200mhz version on two CM1's 'daisy-chained'. (Single USB cable to the two of them with in master/slave configuration.)

Ambient temperature about 80f / 27c.

Invalid rate of: 0.13 / 0.20 / 0.34 / 0.35 percent.

"why?" - Because it is relevant to the temps the chips run at. I.e., their stability at various speeds / overclocks.

I live in Texas. We start putting heavy coats on at your temps. Smiley

And, it would be bloody expensive to cool the house to that temp when it is over 100f / 38c outside.

The room where mine sit is usually around 27c during Summer.

Lethos, what is your room's ambient temperature, please?

yohan beat me to the answer. Smiley

@LazyOtto are you using an USB hub?
Yes.

One which has operated reliably for years with a variety of devices.

OK, with this new announcement about warrentee voiding, I have now dropped both my boards to makomk's 200mhz bitstream.

Previously, with both of them running at 210mhz, one of them was generating about 0.15% / 0.25% invalids and the other around 1.1% / 2.65%.

With the two boards in a master/slave setup and the USB cable connected to the 'better' one, I still had a 'USB fail' event after about seven days of running. (Had two failures within 24hrs with a USB cable connected to both / the 'worse' one.)

Hoping for even more stability/duration with the reduced MH/s flash.

I want to be able to go on a vacation without worries that they dropped offline on the first day I wasn't watching. Smiley

-- edit --

Oh, and possibly relevant, ambient temperature currently, over the last two weeks, hits a high of 80f where they are sitting.

...see how bad a forum is for a live dialog and there are just a few people participating in this discussion. Add another fifty or several hundred and it will be indecipherable
Actually, I doubt that any kind of 'live' forum is appropriate.

I suggest compiling a list of questions, in text, that BFL will reply to, in text.
With a follow-up round of questions and responses.

This allows pre-meditation on both sides. (And, hopefully, time to consider tone and etiquette.)

-- edit --

And time and publicity needs to be allowed to gather the questions. An announcement and solicitation needs be posted to all the relevant threads of BFL interest.

The reason why is that VOIP can be used so that answers that require complex explanations can be fully explained.
My concern with any VOIP interaction is that there is no persistent record.

Parties involved have shown their willingness to deny/erase prior statements.

plus forums are terrible for town halls as you get simultaneous linear threads that conflict with each other  - like now as we discuss the best way to accomplish a town hall
What other threads are in simultaneous conflict with this conversation, please?

how about a webex or other similar type of webcast tech - that way you could fully moderate the proceedings to keep it civil
He could keep it civil?

At this point I suggest a third, neutral, party is appropriate.

Are you finding out this stuff as you go along Inaba or was it made known to you when you joined BFL as staff?

I was made aware of it prior to my employment.
And I am not surprised that you found this acceptable.

Search the forums. He has directly answered customer service technical requests.
"technical requests". OK.

I'm curious as to whether he ever said, or referred to, "four to six weeks".

...
Defendants VLEISIDES, HOUSTON, EMMETT, CLOUD, and WALTHER falsely represented
...
I really think this is all that needs to be said.

Bitcoin transactions are non-reversable. Trust, reputation, is the name of the game in the long term.

Unless we desire to be under the control of various nation-states and their enforcement regimes.

Is BFL worthy to be a linch-pin of the Bitcoin eco-system?

A fun thread here:

But this is the post where it is admitted that the head of BFL is a convicted felon:

(Read the entire thread for details.)

So are you going to post pictures of the products soon or do we have to wait until people receive them and post amateur photos here?

wow, is that the Single??  Shocked
My only problem with that pic is that it looks like a new shoe.

A shoe needs a lot more age before it becomes as smelly as BFL's reputation.  Smiley
