Oh man! entered!
382  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining in the refrigerator? on: September 30, 2012, 10:33:34 PM
My best idea would be to have a water cooled rig and have the reservoir in the fridge/freezer (obviously use anti-freeze if using a freezer). This would dramatically drop temps without killing the fridge/freezer. This would eliminate most of the condensation problems.

Cablepair,

Will bASICs work under Win7 64bit?

My understanding DC power adopter is not included? any recommendations or specs which dc adopter best fit for these bASICs, specifically 27G unit?  is it 12V at 5amp? and what kind of barrel is required?

thanks

He hasn't released any power information yet, except for the connectors (Molex and DC barrel type). Based on these connectors, I can't see power exceeding 70-80watts.

As for OS, since he has supported Win7 64bit with his FPGA's, I can definitely see he'll support it for his ASIC's.

Hey doublec, love the uptime lately! Thanks for keeping us mining Smiley Are you planning on implementing either GBT or STRATUM? Just curious.
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [I0C] D-Day is approaching: Wat do? on: September 30, 2012, 01:51:46 AM
Hmm, interesting, but just doing a cursory investigation(about 20 min) I can't figure out for the life of me how to get that running. Oh well I'll just hoard my coins.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [I0C] D-Day is approaching: Wat do? on: September 30, 2012, 12:48:32 AM
That still doesn't account for Vircurex support ending, so there's no exchange for the coins.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [I0C] D-Day is approaching: Wat do? on: September 29, 2012, 10:20:52 PM
So Vircurex support and the new protocol changes are being implemented as of 1 Oct 12, so what is there to do? I can't find a windows client that will work after the changes.

Any word on exchange support for i0coins? Is this the death knell for i0coin?
388  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ModMiner Quad FPGA Mining Device up to 1Gh/s $1069.99 (IN STOCK) on: September 27, 2012, 09:11:23 PM
If I had the cash to spare, I'd definitely snap a couple more of these up, but I'm heading away for work for a month, so I wouldn't even be around to accept shipment. Maybe you'll still have some for sale when I get back in november... By then I bet you'll be shipping the bASICs anyway....

Ahh thanks! I misunderstood the usage of that flag, then.

Is there a way I can throttle back the GPU mining for times when I am gaming, and/or just let the BFL singles run without accessting the graphics card's GPU?

thank you

Using an intensity of "d" should accomplish this. This dynamically adjusts the intensity based on your usage of the device other than mining. If this doesn't work well, then you'll just have to manually shut down your miner whenever you want to game.

Also, Luke-Jr: I'm using some flags and it appears they are conflicting.

I have 1 7970, the Integrated 6550D, and a MMQ on the same system. BFGMiner lists them as OCL 0, OCL 1, and MMQ 0 respectively. I want to disable OCL 1, as it's not worth the electricity to mine on it.

I execute bfgminer.exe -d 0 -S modminer:\\.\COM3

In my mind, this should result in BFGMiner using OCL 0 and MMQ 0 and disabling OCL 1. In reality, this results in MMQ 0 and OCL 1 being disabled, with only OCL 0 enabled and mining. What's the fix to get the OCL devices and MMQ to play nice?

Thanks!
391  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's your hashrate at? on: September 26, 2012, 09:05:42 PM
About 1.5 Gh/s on PPS. Works out to about .5 BTC/day.

Bump, prices edited and added some info.

That's awesome! On both things.

Anyon know if using BAMT would work? Or have a recommended distro?
394  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 400 BTC BOUNTY OFFERED FOR OPEN SOURCE BITSTREAM THAT IS FASTER THAN TLM on: September 26, 2012, 07:46:11 PM
I don't even have any FPGAs ATM, nor have I ever had any spartans. I just find it interesting that you would NOT release your bitstream for upwards of a 500BTC bounty, while still continuing to mine.

He's an elitist, he wants to have something that other people have so he has a "leg-up" on everyone else, rather than contributing to the community, making it better, AND getting paid for it on top of it all. That's fine, it's his prerogative as the creator of his particular piece of software.

Nice! Can't wait to try the TLM
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vircurex: Stop Support of I0Coins on: September 24, 2012, 04:21:01 PM
So Vircurex was the only i0coin exchange? No alternatives out there?
397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Open Letter to EldenTyrell about the TLM FPGA Bitstream on: September 24, 2012, 03:36:04 PM
I was actually thinking of making a bounty thread for this to get done for us MMQ owners. I don't have nearly the amount as the other pledges, but I'll put 4btc towards this.
398  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: September 23, 2012, 09:20:15 PM
Is there a github for the new version? Any word on release date?
399  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking to buy a FPGA miner. on: September 23, 2012, 12:45:56 PM
Check out the Custom Hardware forum in the Mining section, and also the Computer Hardware forum inside this one. People occasionally post FPGAs. Not much of a discount off the MFR's prices though.
400  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Raspberry Pi / Arm on: September 23, 2012, 12:43:42 PM
You might do better to mine Litecoin on it? Or maybe use it as a headless host for some FPGA boards running CGminer or BFGMiner.
