381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran legalizes mining on: July 25, 2019, 02:48:26 AM
Just think what a great decision Iran made. Having legalized mining, the country has created best conditions for large miners, because now it is safe for them. Perhaps the electricity fee will not be the most profitable but the police will never break your home to arrest mining farm

What is your opinion about that?

This is a big news. It only took a few weeks for Iran to take a u-turn regarding cryptocurrency mining in the country. I have just read recently that Iran authorities have made massive raids on crypto mining homes and then all of a sudden this positive turn of events. Somebody reliable and close to the authorities must have enlightened them about crypto mining and its potentials. The nuclear facilities of Iran must be enough to cater the energy needs of these miners.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coins Delisting on: July 24, 2019, 02:25:12 AM
There are few reasons why they are delisting those coins but most likely if the coins has low volume in the particular exchange or its a dead project already because of the unresponsive team then expect it to be delisted because that's common nowadays.

Try to use popular exchange, sometimes traders prefer to use popular exchange due to high volume.

I will have to say that the matter is about low volume or perhaps zero at all. We can set aside the possibility that the coins mentioned are dead projects, save for a coin or two. I am more than sure that the names Civic (CVC), RChain (RHOC), TenX (PAY), Salt (SALT), and most especially Status (SNT) are pretty much working. This exchange is actually not popular. And so traders will certainly use the other available exchanges for some much better volumes.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The End of Bear Market, Confirmed!! on: July 24, 2019, 01:54:38 AM
The bear appears to be very much alive until now. The price of Bitcoin can hardly get back to $11,000. We are done hanging in the $10,000 support. We have fallen to just $9,000 plus. If this pattern will continue and we cannot get past $10,000 anytime soon, we might be going back to the lower portions of the chart. Does the bear have insomnia? LOL!
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The price of Bitcoin is starting to weaken, is it now the right time to invest? on: July 23, 2019, 04:04:58 AM
Hello, all ..
Today I see Bitcoin experiencing a price decline of up to $ 10,075, do you think it's now a good time to invest?
please advise from Bitcoiners, thank you.

$10,075 is already cheap. It could actually go cheaper than this. I am not hoping but it is not impossible especially right now when the price is already at $10,200. But, surely a price near $10,000 is a buying price. It has just went down from $14,000 very recently. And it could go back anytime from now. The market is generally bullish. Much anticipation about bakkt and halving are in the air. There is no reason it could go much lower than that in the coming months.
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gov'ts and Institutions buying up Bitcoin on: July 23, 2019, 03:31:02 AM
What do we make of the coverage of institutions and governments quietly buying up large amounts if Bitcoin? Is there much reliable info/coverage on this? Seems like this might not be getting the attention it deserves. Or maybe I'm just being led on by suspicion/curiosity.

Opinions? Inside info haha

I don't have info, much less an inside one. But if I were to take some inklings from the statements of the recent United States congressional hearing on Libra and cryptocurrency, I would say a great many of them must have already bought a bunch of Bitcoins. I mean, would you not if the likes of Winklevoss are on it? And saying that Bitcoin is unstoppable means a thousand words, which cannot be hidden with such a seemingly unbiased remark.
386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You don't loose if you don't encash on: July 23, 2019, 03:08:23 AM
Some would not prefer this. They would rather decide to just cut loss rather than go along with the fall. They prefer to suffer a smaller loss and then buy back at the bottom. This is the strategy of a lot of traders. Well, they have their own technical analysis from which they base their order prices. But to those who do not have any of this at all and are doubting which way is better, they better choose to HODL. If they are willing to wait though.
387  Economy / Economics / Re: buying bitcoin is like immigrating to a new country on: July 23, 2019, 02:38:31 AM
Honestly speaking, I am sharing your reservations in a way. I am not a fan of whales myself. Especially with a digital currency which is very sensitive to news and decisions on the trading platforms, its value could easily be affected by whatever the whales may decide to do. That is something that puts the entire fate of Bitcoin in their hands. But I hope that as Bitcoin grows old, adoption will grow wider and wider and Bitcoin ownership will also be spreading.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Scams are a global issue on: July 22, 2019, 04:08:49 AM
Now that crypto is allowing us to transact globally I am questioning if we are going  to start to see more scams happen between countries. Do we need more compliance companies to step in to help major scams and illegal trafficking?

Full report: https://ciphertrace.com/articles/q1-2019-cryptocurrency-anti-money-laundering-report/

No, I don't think so. Scams have always been present in our system, before, today, and in the future. Whether or not it is cryptocurrency that will become the main cryptocurrency or fiat currency will remain, such problems as scams and illegal trafficking will always be present. Compliance companies are required today as before. Government efforts to curb such problems will have to continue focusing on their jobs regardless of whether the currency used is fiat or crypto.
389  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to trade WITHOUT exchange? on: July 22, 2019, 03:42:44 AM
You can but it is going to be more inconvenient than doing it with an exchange. The exchange platforms are designed and created primarily for trading cryptocurrencies. If you are worrying about the fees, I don't think the fees are that material. They are a lot lower than 1% per trade. That won't cause you to lose a lot of funds. But if you really want to avoid it altogether, better find someone who is willing to do it on a peer-to-peer basis.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading is a big challenge. on: July 22, 2019, 03:17:39 AM
Bitcoin trading is a big challenge. Get a fast profit, but loss can be in seconds. Huh

In the last few days Bitcoin has started to increase sharply. And most of the Altcoin top goes up. CEO of Galaxy Digital, a crypto merchant bank, Michael Novogratz, said, the price of bitcoin will increase many times over the next 18 months.

But we see today's prices are falling. Is this only temporary?

18 months is still several months away from now, mate. It does not mean that since it will increase many times over in the next 18 months that it will not experience any dips anymore. Do not worry about the hourly or daily dips of the price. This is not how Bitcoin's rise in value is measured. 18 months is considered long term already because it is beyond a year. You will measure its growth in long term also. Try to compare Bitcoin's price in March 2019 to its price come March 2020.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why does BCH use BTC to gain popularity? on: July 22, 2019, 02:48:06 AM
I think BCH and other coins such as Bitcoin Gold have been using Bitcoin’s popularity to grow. Bitcoin is like « the Dad » of all of those coins because without Bitcoin they wouldn’t be that much popular and worth investing in them since Bitcoin gives them their whole value.

Let me know about your opinion!

They are using Bitcoin to make themselves popular simply because they are not popular. And of course, these Bitcoin altcoins are forks of the real Bitcoin. And until now, they remain stuck at their futile claim that they are the real Bitcoin. Well, everybody knows they are mere altcoins with the Bitcoin label on their names. They carry it around trying to dethrone the real Bitcoin while promoting their names. But the only thing that keeps these altcoins alive is the Bitcoin itself in their names.
392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Explaining the consequences of KYC on: July 22, 2019, 02:12:16 AM
I am very worried not about the fact of submitting passport data to confirm my identity, but, first of all, who will control the safety of the entire database provided by users.  Moreover, even in state structures there is a clear list of requirements that have the right to be exposed in front of a person and who is authorized to demand passport information.  In any case, all companies that require KYC must be formalized.

As for me, I am a little worried when submitting KYC documents. As much as possible, I would really avoid sending images of my passport or even driver's license. Identity theft is getting common nowadays. Anyone who has access to that personal information could use it for some illegal purpose.

And who will guarantee us that these data on their hands are safe? For all we know, even wallets could be hacked. How much more to personal data which are not as protected as coins?
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I think a lot of people just missed their chance on: July 21, 2019, 09:14:16 AM
It seems to be going up and not coming back down again.

We have learned that such assumption is baseless. How many times have we been certain of such conclusion only to end up wrong? We have learned the lessons of the past already. I cannot say that we will not be coming down once more. Who would have thought that Bitcoin, for example, reaching $20,000 already could still fall down at $3,000? Nobody. And yet it simply happened, completely stunning everyone. Look at Ethereum, soaring at $1,400 and falling too low at $100 plus.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your private keys on: July 21, 2019, 04:05:49 AM
I have already tried doing my own jumbling of passwords before. It went well until such time that I did not use it for a while. And when I went back to it, I could not understand it anymore. And never have I made out the password out of it anymore. I ended up clicking on the forget password button. I do not recommend it especially if you have a lot of passwords and keys to manage. Just jot it down on a piece of paper, perhaps several copies, and then keep it away.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROPS ASKING FOR KYC VERIFICATION on: July 20, 2019, 02:46:05 AM
The issue of KYC always raises questions whose answers are mostly not very discerning to the ears. It is quite unfortunate, I know most crypto enthusiasts are not comfortable giving out their personal information for KYC but there is little we can do about the situation at the moment.  Most of these projects claim they are under a legal jurisdiction where KYC is very important for many business projects. The new trend is increasingly becoming worrisome as many airdrops are even requiring KYC verification from participants.

I will never risk my personal information for the sake of airdrops. I do not actually join airdrops nowadays. How much more to airdrops that require KYC? And for me, that is overdoing it. I do not share the necessity of KYC for airdrops. If they are implementing it, I would even interpret it as some kind of cover up plan in order to get the personal details of people across the world. I also advise you guys to avoid airdrops requiring KYC.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs USD - Which one is better? on: July 20, 2019, 02:15:40 AM
These guys have some interesting stuff going on here https://cryptotradernews.com/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-vs-usd-for-storing-value-purposes/

Today, I would personally pick USD as it can be used world wide and for a variety of purposes. However, if BTC were to stop being JUST a speculative asset I would contemplate making the switch. I like being in control of my cash without having to depend on some greedy bank!

Thoughts?

Apparently, you are choosing between Bitcoin and USD on the basis of which is a better currency between the two. Furthermore, on that basis, the ability to spend it anywhere is being given a certain weight. I am also for USD, on that basis at least. You can indeed spend USD wherever you are. That is certainly more convenient to use as a currency. However, on the basis of value, I would not think twice of choosing Bitcoin over USD. And on the basis of ownership, Bitcoin is owned by me and USD is not. And so I would choose BTC over USD.

398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Libras impact on bitcoin price on: July 19, 2019, 02:01:00 AM
I got a feeling that all that hype from Libra impacted on the gains of bitcoin price. Is the slump this week weighted on the bad media comments about Libra?

Bitcoin has a pending bull run even without Libra. Libra, if it has any effect to the price of Bitcoin, it was definitely not negative. Libra pushes the idea of Bitcoin into the minds of people who never ever thought of cryptocurrency as a real money. When Libra started talking about it, the millions and millions of Facebook fanatics all over the world suddenly came into a realization that indeed cryptocurrency is real. And when people start to get themselves more familiar with crypto, Bitcoin is the face they can see first.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoins for buy now on: July 19, 2019, 01:37:55 AM
hello suggest please 2-3 altcoins/tokens who you can think can do x2 x3 easy till the end of this year .

I am aware that this is not 2018 anymore. Nevertheless, I would still give my 2-3 altcoins that might grow double or triple by the end of the year. Just in case somebody is monitoring this thread for some suggestions.

I am sure Ethereum (ETH), Waves (Waves), and Monero (XMR) will more than double their values by the time the year 2019 will drop the curtain. Triple may be a bit too high a target but still very possible. The altcoins have yet to start their bull run. Come bull run, these coins will make it big in the charts.
400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think advisors help new projects? on: July 19, 2019, 12:55:26 AM
My idea of advisers have changed already ever since I have seen a lot of projects with great advisers that still failed. Most, if not all, advisers have credentials that would really make you awed. Many advisers have made a company or two, started a project, got PhDs and masters in known universities in Europe or in the USA. But how come they were not able to convert all these experiences and knowledge into the success of the projects they are advising? My hunch is that their names are just placed there with or without permission but they are not really advising.
