Are you saying I failed by giving you a honest compliment?
No, he's saying you failed to search for HODL and find out its history before posting.

Nope. That would be censorship. No one owns the Bitcoin brand, and the account was gotten legitimately.
I do agree that there shouldn't be censorship but although noone owns the brand it still may violate the terms of service. We reserve the right to remove Content that violates the User Agreement, including for example, copyright or trademark violations, impersonation, unlawful conduct, or harassment.
It comes down to whether using @Bitcoin is impersonating an authorised body that doesn't actually exist.

He removed his sig too as promised
That's because he got negative default trust resulting in getting booted from the campaign. I'm not sure that resigning a position and then almost immediately reapplying for it shows the level of maturity required. I hope LoyceV's application is looked upon more favourably.

What kind of campaign would reward a hero member with 0 merit points?
The same kind that rewards a Hero Member with 500 unearned Merit now. The problem is the campaigns paying in tokens they create out of thin air. It doesn't cost them anything to pay the participants so they don't care about quality, they just want quantity of page impressions.

OK, I'll try to ask the same from a different point of view:
Should we let the members (spammers in this case) to grow their activity with posting a few sentences from articles into a new topic in the Bitcoin Discussion thread? Without additional comment? (and not like: What is your opinion about this, etc...) or without any effort to add something to the discussion?
I think that is what makes it spam. If they post a few lines from an article and then express an opinion as to why it is important/good/bad or whatever and start a discussion, then it has some value.

As far as the reason why bitcoin is popular? Anyone can play, you just need internet and money to deposit and that's it. Plus you are anonymous.
Add to that most Bitcoin casinos have very low minimum bets and large max payouts. Try going to a fiat online casino and making at $0.00009127 bet and you won't have any luck, but there are plenty of places you can bet 1 Satoshi. Not to mention faucets, transparent house edges. Try asking a pitboss if you can verify that last Blackjack hand you played or if you can ask to see the RNG mechanism on their slots. When you look at all the advantages it is difficult to see how fiat online gambling will survive if/when Bitcoin gets mass adoption. At the moment there is still the vast majority that wouldn't even know how to get any Bitcoin or find a Bitcoin casino, but that won't last forever.

-snip-
Jeff is absent from more than two months which could explain partially why some topics aren't deleted, and I think it depends also from the mod dealing with the reports, maybe some of them don't mind seeing crypto related news in the press section. Or could just be that nobody is reporting those threads. Probably most people using that board don't even realise that it is supposed to be Bitcoin only news so they're not likely to report altcoin stories. I don't know theymos opinion, but personally I think that this section should be opened to the crypto-related news. Maybe putting it in /other or regroup press/legal/meetups/off-topic/politics and society under one board ("society") could be better?
Moving it is not a bad idea.

The only reason I use LBC right now is because of the fact that it doesn't require identification. If I'm forced into giving away my personal details, I'm definitely going to find somewhere else to trade.
I understand why people don't what to verify, but for my use it doesn't really matter. I only use it to sell small amounts and as I'm using direct payment to my bank I have to give the buyer my name anyway. For larger amounts, I'd always use another exchange with better rates anyway. I guess it depends on what country you are in but for me, other exchanges means paying international wire fees and paying the spread on the currency conversion.

No idea, but I didn't even trade that much over the past 12 months. I believe that my trading volume fell under the 2-5 BTC category, and I'd say that half of it incurred while BTC was still relatively cheap back in the first half of 2017.
I don't think that's that significant by any means, but I doubt that LBC wanted to do this either. Obviously doesn't make sense for them to do this voluntarily, and there had to be some sort of regulatory pressure be put on them.
That's what I was thinking. It makes me wonder if this has been applied everywhere or just in some countries where that pressure is coming from.

The problem is when I tried to have access your site with my phone, it always said about the time is expired or something like that but I can't never see the login or even the layout too. Always white screen with the not responding time words there
It sounds like there is something wrong with your phone. I've never had anyone else describe a similar issue.

I need help recovering my account. My email address is banned on google and cannot access my account without email conf.
can a gmail account really get banned? I'm curious about that as well. PM me the details and I'll see what I can do but the email confirmation is there to prevent accounts from being hijacked. General advice: Use 2FA, it's a lot more secure than email.

It should be back now. If you still can't access it try changing the DNS server you are using.

Any idea, how long it will take to get the new site up and running? I hope the new Domain is bought and Paid for. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) wetsuit said he's going to start working on it around June, but he wouldn't make any prediction as to how long it will take. He's going to recode the whole thing from the ground up so it isn't easy to estimate how much work that involves. I hope the new Domain is bought and Paid for. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) So do I.

I can confirm that the site wasn't offline for a week definitely. I've been using it regularly lately and it wasn't offline for me even once, and the max time which could pass from my last visit would be not more than two days.
Thanks for confirming that. It looks like the domain name expired at the end of last month and then we got one week grace period before DNS was updated. DNS servers cache addresses so not all of them would update immediately so this is why some people starting having problems last night and others didn't. (This brings back memories of 2000 which was the last time I administered an internet DNS server.)

Posting this one here rather than reporting because I'm not sure if enough of it is copied. bitcoinjasensatomThat's quite another revolution in the crypto world; i would just about love to have some BTC bills in my literal wallet, probably pay my tithes with it. Its a welcome innovation for me.
Based on the article that I have read that Bitcoin smart banknote launched in Singaporeas as a new tool for mass adoption of blockchain technologies. It has the potential to improve the simplicity and security of acquiring, owning and circulating cryptocurrency. In this new innovation, Banknote looks good. Original: https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/05/04/bitcoin-smart-banknote-launched-in-singapore-is-new-tool-for-mass-adoption/A new smart banknote platform has launched pilot sales of physical bitcoin notes in Singapore. The Bitcoin smart banknotes are available in denominations of 0.01 and 0.05 BTC and have the potential to improve the simplicity and security of acquiring, owning, and circulating cryptocurrencies.
