3801  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: buying 10-12k worth of btc on: November 25, 2020, 07:15:56 AM
Why would anybody trust a newbie with funds from reversible payment methods? If you are honestly looking to buy some bitcoin with legit funds then you should just use an exchange like a normal person. Something tells me you aren't, however.

Wow, this coin is still going? I have a few thousand somewhere. Probably worth about 8 cents at todays prices. Is it still Heartbleed attack resistant? LOL.

We did not block NMX received from bounty – you can still fully use it to pay for trading commission.
In additional, when we created rules of NMX token distribution, DeFi was not in trends. Times change and we change too.

Of course you blocked it. Can bounty hunters withdraw their tokens off the exchange? If the answer is "no," then its obvious they are being blocked from control of their earned funds. I for one would never deposit coins on an exchange that feels OK with changing their rules after the fact to negatively affect the customer.

I understand you don't want the bounty hunters to all dump their tokens at once, but you should have included this language before the bounty began and not after it was all over with. It's also a bit weird that you are saying the "DeFi trend" is the reason why you changed your policy here. Your exchange's desire to chase this trend shouldn't negatively affect bounty hunters. You should just give them access to their tokens as promised.
3805  Economy / Speculation / Re: The great reset scenario followed by alt flip on: November 25, 2020, 12:44:34 AM
I'm just curious: why did you ditch your old account? I'm not going to re-tag you as I don't think TMAN's problem with you is worthy of a red tag.

Additionally, nobody owes you shit BTW.

I owe it to myself. Deeply indebted to my younger and future self.

And you are also wrong I have a list of things that are owed from all kinds of places, millions.

This is an unhealthy attitude to have. Once you free yourself from the belief that society owes you a living then you can begin to bring your understanding of reality in line with reality itself.
3806  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: NOMINEX - cheating hunters by delaying payment for THREE years on: November 24, 2020, 11:07:41 PM
1. NMX earned in bounty and live tournaments will be fully unlocked within 365 days (1 year).

Why did you feel it wasn't important to share this detail with the bounty hunters? Surely its something they would have wanted to know ahead of time, is it not?

I'm trying to assess whether there was a rational reason of why the bounty hunters weren't informed of this detail or if this is the beginning of a pattern of dishonest behavior.
3807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Any Crypto-Based Question on: November 24, 2020, 11:03:53 PM
As much as I would like to answer your question, it really doesn't matter what coins I've invested in or what surprised me, unless you're genuinely curious. In reality, everyone has a coin that has disappointed them or did not live up to their full-potential or what they were marketed as. That's the nature of crypto. If you can dig in deep and filter the shit, the lies and the truth then you're way ahead of everyone else in this space. The golden word - research.

...

And sorry, I will not mention any specific crypto's I've invested in/traded in previously. Although, I may have mentioned somewhere else.

Uh, OK, I wasn't necessarily asking about coins that you personally had invested in, just one that you thought was really going to make it big time and then didn't.

For example, for me personally I thought WAX (WAXP) was going to explode this year but it really hasn't. I am not (no longer) invested in WAX but given all they have going on, I'm surprised they're not at least 3x higher by this point.
3808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 (Even Newer!: $2483 bottom 19 Feb 2021 MtGox said so!) on: November 24, 2020, 10:48:29 PM
From a trader's perspective, a better way to view this is that he predicted an 87% decline when the market actually declined 84%.

This part I can't argue with.

The rest of what you wrote is just ignoring the fact that anybody can say anything, and does. If I make 100 predictions, complete with price and time, a few of them are bound to be relatively accurate.

sgbett was "right" (if you want to call it that) once in early 2018, he's been incredibly wrong on all fronts since then. But if you want to focus on the one time he made a "right" prediction and ignore all the wrong ones, that's up to you.

Yes I am absolutely blown away with the price action on BTC.

Do I feel remorse that I don't hold any? Not one bit. The risk is way too high for me. I'll stick with Bitcoin Wink

Don't be like sgbett kids or you'll end up like this, a member of a bitcoin forum for 9 years yet still unsure of what Bitcoin even is.  Cheesy
3809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please advise on exchanging BITCOIN on Exodus wallet on: November 24, 2020, 10:04:27 PM
Thanks for reply.  My plan is to buy back more btc during pullback. My plan is to grow the BTC amount.  so you think USDT is better than tether?

USDT is Tether; I think you mean USDC -- in which case, yes, it is better audited and not nearly as out of control as USDT.

Exodus does have some kind of fee. But I am more concerned about the safety rather than fees. Even though fees may be higher, but the reason I want to use exodus is, it is installed on my desktop and i do have the access to 24 words seed. However, the company also has access to the private key so I am not very sure if exodus is vulnerable like other exchanges such as coinbase which every now and then holds user's fun as ransome and users can't do anything!

Exodus is generally regarded as a safe, well-designed wallet. Just keep your seed safe and regularly scan your computer for viruses! I've never heard any reports of the company leaking or misusing seeds, so I wouldn't worry about that part. If you want to carry all of your coin actions within the Exodus wallet in the name of security, I don't blame you. You will still end up paying much higher fees for a coin swap than you would on an exchange. But if the convenience and peace of mind is beneficial to you, its alright to leave your coins in Exodus.
3810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 (Even Newer!: $2483 bottom 19 Feb 2021 MtGox said so!) on: November 24, 2020, 09:39:47 PM
I'd say predicting $2,483 for the post-bubble bottom, when it was actually $3,122 (December 2018) or $3,850 (March 2020) was still pretty damn impressive. Credit where credit is due, it wasn't a bad call.

That's your opinion. If you think being off by more than 20% in a price prediction is "impressive," that just means you're easily impressed.

BTW, time itself is completely predictable. Its one of the most predictable things in the known universe. The rate at which carbon atoms decay has not changed for billions of years. If somebody makes a call that takes decades to manifest or never manifests within our lifetimes but afterward, is that call also "correct?"
3811  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Binance-trade.net Btc 0.7488 on: November 24, 2020, 11:48:52 AM
Its 100% scam website. Anyone dealing on that site will lose their funds 100%.

You are absolutely correct here and I have tagged OP accordingly.

The website itself is riddled with spelling and grammar errors and doesn't even give off the vaguest scent of legitimacy. For example,

Quote
We care about your safe and security of your assets

They care about my safe? I don't even own a safe.

Its such a lazy, piss poor attempt of a scam website that I wonder how dumb OP is to think people here might actually fall for it.
3812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin at $20,000 is it still a good price? on: November 24, 2020, 09:51:00 AM
Would it be expensive for you if you knew for sure that Bitcoin will surge to $500,000, or more on the year 2022? The dips below the lower 5 digits, below ATH, might be our final opportunities to buy before it becomes VERY expensive.

Nobody knows that, though.

Bitcoin isn't your average investment vehicle as with no other asset does the price of transacting it rise along with the price of the asset. Bitcoin's intrinsic value is inversely proportional to the size of its transaction fees -- no other asset in the world possesses this property.

Having said that, I do believe BTC is eventually headed to six digits -- when or how it will get there, who knows. So yes buying now would still be considered cheap should my complete guess be proven correct at some point.

Even though I try to block the idiotic blue checkmarked BTC cheerleaders on Twitter that just regurgitate different variations of the same cultish chants on a daily basis and call it a living because that's what HODLers want to hear, Bitcoin Twitter is going to be markedly even more of a plastic suckfest than it already is starting tomorrow. The one downside of a bull run I suppose.

If you're at all wondering why I think this its because I know that Bitcoin is about more than just the price, and none of you can convince me otherwise.
3813  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: NOMINEX - cheating hunters by delaying payment for THREE years on: November 24, 2020, 08:46:49 AM
They said they'll make an official announcement regarding the distribution today, although they said that around 20 hours ago and up to this second there were no announcement made. I think it would be better to wait for few more hours and see what'll be their decision, and if they still insist on gradual release, then perhaps flag suits them.

This is a well-measured and reasonable response. I've noticed you commenting on various ANNs through the years and you have developed a good eye for noticing what projects are probably scams (may or may not include Nominex, but what they did was "harmfully ambiguous" regarding the bounty hunters).

The reason this is interesting to me is because, by all measures, Nominex is already quite a successful exchange, so their token should accrue value and they should be willing to treat their bounty hunters fairly. So yeah, just wait it out and hear what they have to say -- let us know and we'll follow up.
3814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The counterfeit token is up 27,000% in an hour. It was mistakenly invested $ 2 m on: November 24, 2020, 08:06:16 AM
Bro, I was all set to merit your post but it turns out it is largely plagiarized from this article:

https://www.publish0x.com/crypto-worker/the-counterfeit-token-is-up-27000-percent-in-an-hour-it-was-xnlvwle

I would usually report plagiarism and you would get banned but I'm in a second chance kind of a mood. I strongly suggest you add this link to your OP.

Just write:

Source: https://www.publish0x.com/crypto-worker/the-counterfeit-token-is-up-27000-percent-in-an-hour-it-was-xnlvwle

at the end of your post.

It's an interesting article, just don't let people walk away thinking you wrote it, because you didn't.
3815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please advise on exchanging BITCOIN on Exodus wallet on: November 24, 2020, 07:24:51 AM
Dear friends,

I need your advise on taking advantage of this bull run.  I want to sell/exchange some btc when it goes to ath ( if it does) from my hardware wallet.

First of all do you suggest to sell btc to fiat or exchange to a stable coin? Instead of fiat I was thinking of stable coin. I never used any stable coin before so I am not sure which one will be best choice. Tether or other USDC etc?

It really depends on what your goals are.

If you want to use your proceeds for trading purposes, by all means, I'd say stablecoins are fine. Even though USDT potentially has major underlying problems, for the moment and foreseeable future it is fine. USDC as you mentioned is better and it also solely runs as an ETH token -- if you plan on doing trading for ETH tokens then any of the stablecoins based as ETH tokens are a better option than the Omni version of Tether.

If you need the money for real life things and need cash, you're better off sending your BTC to a major exchange like Bitfinex, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, KuCoin, Binance, etc, and converting your money to fiat there so you can withdraw it to your bank account.

End of the day... even if you hold your money as USDT for months or possibly even years, you're probably fine.

I did my due diligence an found out exodus wallet may be the safest to exchange to convert to stable coin.  I used exodus wallet before and quite happy with it. you can get your 24 word seed in Exodus but the down turn is,  the company also has access to the private key. I can't think of any other better exchange.

Does Exodus perform some sort of conversion for a fee? Can you calculate what the fee is about? Regardless, it will almost always be cheaper to convert your coins to cash on a real exchange.
3816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Any Crypto-Based Question on: November 24, 2020, 06:14:21 AM
We are near contemporaries and I was happy to see you made a merit source, even if that was a year or more ago -- you're one of the few true heads who really stuck in out in Altcoin Discussion even after it became overwhelmed by spam. Here, let's try to test your memory:

What is one coin that you truly thought was going to moon, perhaps even rival bitcoin because you believed it was that awesome, but then sank into nothingness?

Most of us come across these types of coins every once in a while, but for you -- what coin's failure surprised you the most?
3817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's good about BCH? on: November 24, 2020, 06:02:37 AM
There's a great visualizer website that compares the network activity of BTC and BCH, presents blocks as busses with transactions as passengers waiting to board the bus. Both busses come approximately once every 10 minutes, yet there's always a huge line of people waiting to get on the BTC bus.

What BCH proponents want you to think is "Oh, the BCH bus is clearly more efficient -- no time waiting in lines, just wait for the bus to arrive, get on, and leave."

BUT

The question you have to ask yourself is, "Where are the BTC busses going that so many people all want to go there, and why does nobody want to go where the BCH bus is going?"

BTW, if you're interested in checking it out, the website I'm talking about is:

https://txstreet.com/old/  (the new one compares BTC vs. ETH).
3818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's good about BCH? on: November 24, 2020, 05:54:19 AM
Even though I don't want to admit it, in the future there will probably be a place of BCH as they are working really hard to increase user and merchant adoption in some areas of the world, which is what they are sorely lacking when compared to BTC. I also believe BCH is currently overpriced but stands a strong chance of increasing if this bull market continues to take off, so I won't be betting against it.

3820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: We need more bubbalexs and Hhampuzs in this space on: November 24, 2020, 03:36:00 AM
I just don't understand these bounties and the people participate in it. I would like to see them get lost from this altcoin discussion section.

I don't understand how bounties are at all profitable for a project, but somebody I guess figured out that they were one time and then everybody just goes by their results, or something. I do understand why people participate -- obviously for the money, or a chance to get what could one day be money. It does make forum conversation in this section somewhat forced but every once in a while I find a poster that runs against the grain.

I don't know bubbalex but he appears to have a good following. As for hhampuz, one thing that people forget is that not only is he competent and fair but he's also just a nice guy. That makes a tremendous difference quite often in any sort of work or work-esque environment where money is involved.
