Get a raspberry pi, so much easier to mine with that. Pretty easy to setup if you follow the online instructions. Im sorry if this has already been answered before but its driving me crazy and ive trawled through 14 pages and seen nothing but a sudo command to help fix the problem which dosent help in win10.
I'm getting this error:
USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access - BSC device 3:5
I've followed the setup, Im using the most recent linked bcminer, running as admin. Ive tried without extensions, with extensions. I've installed the driver using Zadig.
What have i done wrong?
I have had windows automatically roll back the drivers every time I install... its annoying AF. Try going into your device manager and rolling back the driver. Right click on computer then manage. You say that.. after 40 hours of trying still zero luck with the raspi pi. It is easier ONLY and ONLY IF you are good with the OS else it is almost impossible and a nightmare I would never recommend anyone try. I just use a low power windows pc to run my sticks, easy to use and there's not as much hassle required. Plus it runs a Z3735F processor so it barely uses any power. On the other hand, if you're running an Altcoin miner you can pop it on that as well.

Litecoin popping straight up with no end in sight. Shame I didn't get in during 2015 when price was real low... Just shows how important Segwit is and what kind of impact it can have if put into use on other blockchains. I'm rummaging around for the last of my Litecoin to sell a little bit, if the price remains steady at ~16 I'd be very surprised.

That's comparing two things that aren't the same. Although Bitcointalk is a lage center of discussion and communication, believe it or not people have other ways of talking about Bitcoin and we're not the center of the world. That being said, it is a nuisance when we're DDOSed and I wish people wouldn't do it to us.

I forgot about this topic.
I ended up sending my bad board to BitmainWarranty and they fixed it, cost about $200 but it is running again. I do get more HW errors than before, but fuck it...it is hashing.
There's even people that get back broken miners after sending them to bitmainwarranty, better than nothing. How are temps? Could be why there's HWs, or just a bad repair. Avalon might be a better choice in the future, their products are more reliable in general than Bitmain's.

I have the same thing going on, one S9 and two R4's are reporting a board with less then the normal chips according to bitmains website this appears to be a 'chain scission of chips" and to return to china for repair. They don't want just a board, now it's the entire miner and that's $70 bucks pop... $210 don't know if it's worth it
Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions? Tell me where to go (lol).
Thanks
I'd just send it to them; seems nobody has figured out how to fix it yet. It's sad bitmainwarranty in Colorado doesn't do these repairs afaik, would be a lot cheaper :/ Bitmain has a pretty bad repair reputation but it's the best you can do at this point.

Here are a few from my latest adventure:
Clipped
Top and bottom pics seem to have not passed the bitcointalk image proxy for some reason. Nevertheless looks like a great setup with all the leds in the dark, quite impressive! I assume there are A721/741s in the middle of the picture there.

I tried that but there is always error: Transaction does not exist Maybe mistyped or dropped from the mempool? I think the latter is less possible but it could've happened. I tried bumping it for you but the same thing happens.... Again, RBF if you really need your tx to arrive, or wait for a few more hours.

shorting some alts might be a good idea...
That's always been a good idea ever since alts were created during this period of unrest, I've held in bitcoin and I have never divested it into anything else and I've come out fine despite the shills shouting doom is near.

They could be bluffing right now but it seems to me that they're just facing issues and some people are just over exaggerating the issue of how they aren't solvent; sure, withdraws are closed, but what could you really do if you were in their situation?

I think this option is very good and it will be less expensive
I disagree, even with government subsidies solar panels are still incredibly expensive. It'd take a very long time to get a return on your investment. That is correct. This is one reason why solar electricity is not so common (in general and not specific to mining). It is abundantly available and if it indeed were inexpensive, you would solar electricity easily overtaking coal/other non-renewable sources of electricity. You also need to be aware that the angle and amount of sun they get is going to have a huge impact on how much electricity is collected. Just because a solar panel says it can produce a certain amount of watts doesn't mean it always will. That is under perfect conditions. You will get maybe ,50-75% Depending on how you place it it can be more. That is true. If you put up a solar panel in Iceland, it probably won't generate any electricity for 4-5 months of the year. You need to put it somewhere near the equator to generate maximum electricity. Yep exactly ! That is the other thing the seasons. Even in the UK you will have little sunlight for months at a time so you must factor that in. Hotter conditions be better better for solar energy but does it out weight the extra heat the climate brings ? I think it will since cooling fans are relatively cheap. Heat is no problem, I used to live in South Carolina and my miners didn't get up to 90c even during 100 degree days. Just make sure you have good ventilation and your miners will stand pretty much anything; for reference they were S5s and S3s, gotta be careful with the more delicate T9s and S9s nowadays.

Downside is those are only 2.0 so you can't do real high ocs with them. That's why I opt for some of the superbpag hubs even though they're not the most durable in the world, I clock my compacs to 300 easily with them.

I am pretty sure all Bitmain products have fake CE stickers on them...
Pretty much. What you do want to worry about is customs fees, which you will most likely have to pay. I don't live in Europe but in the States it's a bit of a pain to get anything from Bitmain with all the fees from customs.

So a two chip stick wants more amps then the 0.9 max even at freq 100 Please try feeding the 2 chip sticks with this https://www.amazon.com/HIGHROCK-Enhancer-Female-Charge-Extension/dp/B00NIGO4NM/ref=sr_1_5?Just go on aliexpress and search for 2 USB male to female cable, it'll yield results and you'll get the exact same cables for around a buck. Pretty much the same thing and you can even get USB 3.0 y cables there. Unless you're in a rush aliexpress is way cheaper and the value is still great. One just arrived at my door today, I'll upload a picture in a second. For reference I got this for 1.50$ and it works just fine on my hub. Ran out of space so I used a wall charger and still runs well.

Well the most probable reason for the MIRs and no real price drop is that the 400 series cards are still in high demand for mining due to their mainly lower price so it's to be expected. Also like expected, 500 series isn't a huge boost, Vega still isn't out yet and that will be the big show coming up.

This is exactly why we need more competition on the ASIC side of things and why you shouldn't trust Bitmain these days as time goes on. They're getting to the BFL side of things and if anything all buyers are getting a horrible deal, no matter if you get a refund or if you're being compensated for it. Even though this is a (hopefully) temporary issue it shows things like Segwit and Asicboost are important to everyone.

There's dedicated section for auctions in the marketplace, seems like that'd be the right place to put it as most people with similar services put em there.

If this is a sale please move it to the accounts section under digital goods, it does not belong in the computer hardware section.

Well we're in for very bearish times ahead as stated by many people, it wouldn't hurt to sell a little bit and keep the rest of your Bitcoin. We might be seeing a trend reversal soon with all the gox-like spread on bitfinex and other exchanges and several other factors. I'd keep an eye out for Litecoin in the near future though, although price has pumped a little bit there could still be potential in it.
