3821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding 5 years a just a imagination on: May 22, 2021, 09:34:46 AM
we keep the coins at least 5 years , but its too long imagination.  you can proof it. 2018 early NEM coin was top 6 Marketcap now 56. so keeping its useless.
That's basically possible cause you're making reference to NEM coin which is an altcoin, tbh, not many people consider altcoins to be sustainable in the long term, and that's cause quite a lot of them are more or less pump and dump coins, thus if it's such coins you're talking about, then hodling onto them for too long could be counterproductive.

Having said that, if you want to be a long term holder, coins like NEM coin should not make up your portfolio, but Bitcoin and prolly ethereum if you want the inclusion of alts.
3822  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefit of cryptocurrency in developing countries on: May 22, 2021, 05:57:30 AM
One earn a decent living in trading cryptocurrency. My advice for youths is to trade and elevate themselves from poverty since government would not make provision for that.
Cause of the aftermath of covid-19 pandemic, most, if not all economies are struggling, and as such the financial system is somewhat changing, that's why institutional investors are now more interested in the Bitcoin network. But people still ought to better themselves by looking for ways to get jobs or businesses in real life, there's no better advice than that. Many people have been allured to crypto since mid last year, but it's still pertinent to alert this people on the risks inherent in the network, and as such that it's not a "get rich quick scheme" and that despite the struggling economy/inefficient government they still should not rely on crypto and find a source of income IRL.
3823  Economy / Economics / Re: NASDAQ on the Blockchain? on: May 21, 2021, 10:50:34 PM
What are your thoughts? Do you think the NASDAQ will use Blockchain technology in the future? If not, why? Is the stock market not ready to transition to the Blockchain world? Why do you think stock exchanges haven't adopted Blockchain tech to this point? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley
The thing is I think the reason NASDAQ/the stock market are as of now yet to implement the blockchain technology is the same reason why other 'fields', institutions etc, are yet to do the same too or are rather ambivalent about the technology, in my opinion, even if they will, it will take some time, and tbh, I do not see any reason why they won't, except if they are yet to understand how best to make it work, as that can be one of the major things hampering it's use.

Having said that, it's basically possible that in the long period, the blockchain technology will be used in many fields/areas, institutions and many more, by then more research must have been done by those interested in it, and a suitable and easy way of implementation will be around for use.
3824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China’s Crypto Crackdown Shows Governments Are The Enemy Of Bitcoin on: May 21, 2021, 10:14:03 PM
What's really Chinas   stance on cryptocurrencies because we have always heard about this old news for over 5 years now!!
The thing is, I think China's CBDC has a lot to play in some of their decisions regarding cryptocurrency, the Chinese government I think only wants a community of digital Yuan users, and no other crypto community in China, the digital Yuan of course will be controlled and manipulated by the Chinese government, but they do not have such privilege with other dex cryptocurrency, that's the more reason why Bitcoin users should not fret about any news China publishes about Bitcoin or crypto.
China is proving that government actions anywhere have the power to destroy cryptocurrencies.
No government anywhere in the world has such powers to destroy Bitcoin, they could print their Fiat currencies that'll cause inflation and a fall in its value, that is cause they have control. But there is no way government can 'destroy' crypto, one can only destroy what they control.
3825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 21, 2021, 09:56:23 PM
Aston Villa and Chelsea I predict this match will be tough.
Aston Villa have been pretty strong since the beginning of the season, that's the reason why they avoided relegation by a long mile this time around, they were not so good last season, but there was a massive improvement if you compare their performance now to then, I expect Chelsea to suffer for the three points on Sunday, but I think they'll get it.

Aston Villa don't really have anything to play for, they are already safe, and will definitely play in the EPL next season, and again, they do not have any chance of qualifying for Europe next season, thus it's Chelsea that the game means a lot to, a win will seal their top four spot and give them a boosted morale for the UCL final against City, surely Aston Villa v Chelsea will be tough, but the blues will get all three points.
3826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to invest in Polkadot? on: May 20, 2021, 09:16:48 PM
at the beginning of 2021 I have tried to invest in polkadot, if you look at the results for now I have benefited part of what I invested, if you have the capital you should invest immediately in polkadot because it is a token that has potential for the future
Quite a lot of people have invested in Polkadot in the past couple of months, their network has been doing good enough to allure crypto investors, and even after this latest price correction, polkadot is doing well to get back up as soon as possible, imo, for the short term, polkadot seems like an alt that's worth investors allocating some of their funds to. But then again, the thing is it's long term sustainability, many altcoins have performed this same way previously, what really matters is the long periods, how well will they do to remain in the market, if their team is actually working on that, then polkadot isn't a bad choice to make.
3827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: May 20, 2021, 06:43:03 AM
Unfortunately or fortunately for Athletico, the history of the club is only relevant to the fans but not to finance and not to future performance. Real Madrid needs a coach that is perhaps less liked by the players and more respected. Of course they do great in Europe, but they are notoriously below expectation if you consider the huge budget. True that budgets in Europe are huge, but RM is perhaps living on rents and should get a disciplinarian rather than a "friend" or, what is more common, a media agitator.
Imo, I don't think any fan can have too many bad words to say to Zidane, considering how many trophies he has won for Madrid during his two spells at the club, I know a club of Real's reputation and status and with how much money is spent at the club, ought to be winning trophies every season, but I don't think Zidane has done too bad, neither do I think what Real needs is a new manager with a new philosophy and demeanor.

Having said that, I think the quality of players in Madrid has dropped significantly, thus imo, I think what is needed is fresh players to Madrid, the club needs to spend money in this transfer window and bring in more quality players, as well as replace the old and ageing ones.
3828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin continues dumping even MicroStrategy purchased additional Bitcoin. on: May 19, 2021, 05:01:29 AM
Perhaps the positive news of Michael Saylor and MicroStrategy buying another tons of bitcoin is overshadowed by Elon and his tweet. Maybe the market is really tired at this point and wanted to see first if Elon are going to stop with his shilling against BTC.
I don't think it's basically just about Elon Musk's tweets and all that, Elon could be able to cause a little scare in people and make quite a few dump their BTC, but this dump could well not be as a result of his latest tweet antagonizing Bitcoin, it's possible the dump could have happened if Elon didn't tweet about Bitcoin, it could prolly even have happened, if Elon tweeted something positive about Bitcoin; imo, it is what it is, as an investor, I'd simply take this to be one of those price corrections we experience during bull runs.
Pretty much every institution is giving up on bitcoin, that's why it's dumping. Saylor is the lone holdout, but even he'll bail once this gets far enough below $24k, which it 100% will. Bitcoin is dead. You're better off with cash in a low yield savings account at this point.
This is not true, except you do not care about the facts; there would be more influx of institutional investors as we keep on going, Fiat is still yet struggling to cope with inflation and an economic downturn, thus Bitcoin can hold the value of funds, not just for individuals, but corporations, thus, the more interest in the network.
3829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 19, 2021, 04:42:39 AM
Josep Guardiola's line-up has a well-defined identity but there are still a few doubts that the Spanish coach needs to resolve ahead of the final. The doubts mainly concern the role of left-back and defensive midfielder. Oleksandr Zinchenko and captain Fernandinho performed well in the return leg of the semi-final, providing cover and leadership for the team, while Joćo Cancelo and Rodri are more offensive
In terms of the left back position for City, I expect Zinchenko to keep his place, he is a better option than either Mendy or Cancelo at left back, Cancelo is slightly better in attack, but what Zinchenko offers the team both in defense and attack is massive. In the defensive midfield role, I'm not sure who Pep is going to start, city need strong cover in front of the defense, and that's what Fernandinho is perfect at, but Rodri has also had a superb season playing in front of the City backline, Rodri will prolly start, and if City have something to hold on to, then I think Pep will bring in Fernandinho.
Pep should be adding 2 attackers; Sterling and Aguero to screw up the defense.
If you've been watching City's matches this season, you'll know neither of this players (Sterling & Kun) will play in the UCL final, except City are leading comfortably, then they could prolly get the final 10 or so minutes, they both have lost form and aren't impressing the manager to say the least, the same can also be said of Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres, they are all going to be more or less spectators on the 29th.
3830  Economy / Economics / Re: Economical Politics by an insane guy is the reason for this crash! on: May 16, 2021, 09:53:51 PM
I want to ask those institutions' lovers, do you still want them in crypto? Do you want them to make crypto their hedge all their losses and when they will take out their profits, everyone in crypto will lose? Isn't everything in crypto getting under their control, which means it is being centralized?
I don't see any problems whatsoever with institutional Investors, neither is the network being centralized/controlled due to their influx into it; they are investors just like every other ones (just that they buy in larger quantities), thus they can buy and sell when they choose to, they do not control the market, there could be a little dip if they dump a large amount, but it is what it is, the correction that'll arise as a result of that will only be temporary, and the price will with time spike again.

Having said that, I believe institutional investors have a big role to play in Bitcoin networks rise to mainstream adoption, and the thing is even if some corporations pull out, others will join the network, the interest amongst institutional investors is already present, thus it's going to keep alluring more and more of them, notwithstanding how many others get disinterested.
3831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid been carried away, it's never going to be bullish forever on: May 16, 2021, 08:19:46 PM
At this point of time in the market, you can never define if this trend is bearish or bullish, because there's a lot of people today diverting their money into cryptocurrency, maybe in some coin/token experiencing downfall but we can never called it berish..
Of course quite a lot of people and institutional investors are interested in the Bitcoin network cause of the downturn in the traditional financial institutions due to the Covid-19 pandemic and some of the policies imposed by the government to bring the pandemic under control, the resultant effects of all this is inflation/hyperinflation, thus Bitcoin and to an extent other altcoins has been acting as a hedge to the devaluing Fiat currencies/struggling economy.

Having said that, all this factors have led to the continued spike in the crypto market for a while now, and at the moment, this institutional investors and prominent individuals are still very much active, interested and are still investing in the network, thus I think this plunge is more of price corrections that a complete return to the bearish market.
3832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is this the end of the bull market of crypto? on: May 16, 2021, 04:16:50 PM
Investors usually take price corrections to be the end of the bull run, in the past couple of days, crypto prices haven't been doing so well, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the bull run, it could very well be price corrections and quite a lot of people will sell out of panic/fud, only for prices to spike up again after the plunge. If you're hodling coins that are not pump and dump coins, then there is prolly no reason to fret just yet, but if your portfolio is filled with short term/pump and dump coins which I don't consider to be long term projects, then it's better to take your ROI ASAP.
3833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 16, 2021, 02:59:08 PM
Tuchel lost one final against PSG. Recently lost another one against Chelsea and this time to Leicester. I think this one will also lose. Especially the opponent of Manchester City. The team is stronger than Leicester and stronger than Bayern. And very eager to win the Champions League.
The both teams are eager to win the CL alike, not just City, Chelsea have won it before, just once though, but I'm pretty sure they'll be eager to make it two, Pep has won it twice, but that's a long time ago, Tuchel has never won it, but went as far as the final last season, everyone involved in the final needs this trophy, for pride, bragging right, reputation, to assert dominance etc.

City have dominated English football in the past decade, it's just the CL that has eluded them thus far, quite a lot of people believe that's the reason Pep was signed, he now has the opportunity to beat his chest as the only manager in City's history to have won every major trophy for them, it's going to be an enthralling final on the 29th, but I'm of the opinion that Pep will outwit Tuchel in the end.
3834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Two brothers who became millionaires with cryptocurrency on: May 16, 2021, 01:19:26 PM
These guys are only able to sell their shitcoins at this rate, because someone else is purchasing them. And the buyer in all probability is going to end up in bankruptcy.
For the buyers of this sort of cryptocurrency, it's all about "getting rich quick", and the only thing they need to draw their attention is hype and one or two success stories, it's basically almost the same thing as when the DeFi hype was in the crypto network, quite a lot of people invested, only to make "quick profits", but it wasn't to be as they invested in the wrong projects that was either a scam or was hacked; this caused quite a lot of people to lose their funds.

Some investors fancy shit/lottery coins to Bitcoin cause of the possibility of it turning their investments into something big, but that's only during the period of it's pump, the thing is it'll also dump sooner rather than later, thus that's the reason why coins with long term sustainability like Bitcoin is the better option for investors.
3835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 16, 2021, 12:00:37 PM
Manchester City have been told they can sign Argentina forward Lionel Messi, from Barcelona if they pay him £500,000 a week after tax. Can Manchester City or any other club in the world pay such a fantastic salary for a player who will not be able to play at a top level for a long time?
I don't think Pep will push City to make this transfer, City were interested in him (Messi) last season, and it would have made more sense if he had arrived at the Etihad at the beginning of this season, but spending so much on Lionel right now is unnecessary, what City needs right now is an out and out striker, a pretty young and precocious one at that, and not Lionel Messi who's approaching his final period at the top level.
Under-pressure Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has met with club president Joan Laporta and says the pair will talk again at the end of the season. Will Koeman soon become the former coach of Barcelona?
I expect Koeman to be sacked at the end of this season, though Barca's issues this season is definitely not the fault of the manager, but there are other factors and problems inherent in the clubs hierarchy, imo, Ronald Koeman should be given another season as manager, whilst those at the top fix some of the unseen issues in the club.
3836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Two brothers who became millionaires with cryptocurrency on: May 15, 2021, 09:47:23 PM
Quite a lot of these "lottery coins" are pump and dump coins, that's the more reason why no matter how many people share the testimony of how they became rich from it, it's somewhat a tricky investment, the two brothers in the op are lucky they were able to make profits now that the coin is pumping (or has pumped), thus it then becomes alluring for investors, who will prolly not do their research before investing, as all they need is the testimony of others who have made profits, at the end, when the plunge comes, majority of investors will have dumped coins in their hands. What people fail to understand is that Elon Musk's tweet/talk alone can't sustain a coin/project for the long period.
3837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you guys use bitcoin for? on: May 15, 2021, 09:09:43 PM
Control and freedom is what allured quite a lot of people to Bitcoin. Fiat currencies and also digital Fiat (cbdc) is all about government regulations/control, and due to that, it's possible for them to manipulate and print it as they deem fit. But Bitcoin is different in many ways, it's a "be your own bank" kind of currency, and it's interesting for people who use it.

It's pretty easy to find out that the majority of Bitcoin users use the currency as an investment, but that doesn't in any way hinder it's development, and it's as well definitely a currency (cause it performs all it's features), a hedge against inflation, etc, Bitcoin is basically a currency that's different from the traditional/orthodox ones, and what one uses it for, totally depends on the user.
3838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 15, 2021, 08:39:22 PM
Yeah congrats Leicester for winning their first FA Cup ever. Wouldn't talk about VAR or anything else, Chelsea has to get their revenge from Leicester in the next game in EPL and try to secure a CL spot for the next season.
Chelsea's next game against Leicester in the EPL is a very important one for them, cause they have to finish in the top four, they also have an opportunity to qualify for next seasons UCL by winning the trophy this season, but it's going to be pretty difficult for Chelsea to beat City on the 29th of this month in the final, so to avoid missing out on Champions football next season, Chelsea have to take their next two EPL games as 'finals'.

Having said that, I think Chelsea were too defensive in this match (they started too many defensive minded players) playing against Leicester, I expected them to attack better and freely, but they were content to just defend and maybe try counter attacks, it was pretty poor in my opinion.
3839  Other / Politics & Society / Re: phases IV of COVID 19 lockdown. How can we quickly recover to the normal life? on: May 14, 2021, 06:36:35 PM
Which government you are talking about here ?
OP is talking about the federal government of Nigeria, here is a link to get the full story if you like: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/460721-updated-covid-19-nigerian-govt-imposes-curfew-other-new-restrictions.html

Imo, it's an absurd sort of curfew as well, but the thing is there is a high level of insecurity in Nigeria atm, and the Nigerian Police force are actually struggling to curb this very issue, thus I think the government have imposed this curfew on the grounds of insecurity, more than that of covid-19. Having said that, Vaccination is on going in Nigeria, and to the best of my knowledge it's moving at a reasonable speed, neither has there been any recent massive spread of covid-19 in Nigeria. It does not come to be as a surprise at all, the Nigerian government are having quite a lot of issues on it's hands, and this curfew is a response to that, and not the pandemic.
3840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 14, 2021, 05:25:17 PM
in 2012 Bayern was the best team but Chelsea clinched the title at the end of the day.
I don't think this seasons Final will be like that of 2012, the better side will more likely be victorious this season, it's going to be a game of tactical genius from the two managers, I think it'll be down to which manager can outwit the other on the night, Chelsea have won their last two games against City, this could either work in their favor or not, cause it could either give them confidence that City are very much beatable or it could make City to be very careful and weary and work on the loopholes that led to their previous two losses against the Blues.
Chelsea is getting this one.
Imo, it'll be pep making history with City, by winning City's first ever UCL title on the 29th.
