With you Yanks cheap and easy exit from BTC into Fiat shut off via Mt.Gox and Dwolla I think you might get a nasty lesson in just how important a route to Fiat is for the value of BTC.

I said pardon ?

You of course realize there are ways to fiat other than Dwolla, right ?
3822  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFLabs: May 13, 2013 [Update] on: May 15, 2013, 09:12:22 PM
The only reason BFL arent insolvent is because thousands of people paid in BTC when they were like $10-20 each.

... except for that whole part where they used Bitpay and immediately received fiat for BTC.
3823  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 15, 2013, 08:12:17 PM
i still don't understand why the price is so high
1 chip + 1 mini pcb + one usb connector = 2tbc, really?

Look at it another way, where else are you going to get 300MH/s running on a USB stick @ ~500mA ?

You know what? I give up. Yeah they're giving refunds because they're 100% legit. Please don't ask for a refund.

(Pssst... Dude... Lets just back away from this thread. Very quietly. Lets never look back. There is just simply no dealing or reasoning with this sort of unprecedented assortment of compound deficiencies)
3826  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Should I cancel my BFL 4/2/2013 Order? on: May 15, 2013, 05:08:18 AM
Want to see something really sad?
This is what BFL introduced at CES 2013...at about January or February 2013...some 3 or 4 months after customers were supposed to get their devices.
THIS IS NO JOKE!

That is indeed sad and embarrassing  Undecided But I guess when you inherently have no concept of shame...

At least Josh did recently admit that their ceasing production of FPGA units was a mistake in retrospect - Smartest thing the man has said this year so far.

edit: also, the order has been submitted.

Fuck yeah ! Is it improper for me to admit that I am slightly aroused at this time ?

I recommend everyone hit up SR, purchase a quarter of some high quality Sativa, and chill the funk out.

Everything gonna be cool.
3831  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Theoretical wait time on BFL 5.0Gh if ordered now? on: May 14, 2013, 02:37:20 PM
So I see that BFL has started shipping their 5.0Gh machines. Anyone know how many have been shipped and what the potential wait time on one would be if I ordered today?

Liberally speaking, hopefully by end of first quarter 2014.

They have shipped out approximately 40 Jalapeno units thus far, as best we can tell.

3833  Bitcoin / Hardware / BFL ASIC Production Updates 2013 (Updated May 13) on: May 14, 2013, 04:04:39 AM
(Rather than posting new threads, figured I should probably start one long master thread of updates until they start shipping singles. Will aim to keep these first two posts full of "official" information culled from the BFL Forums until Singles start flowing out to customers. Will aim to keep this thread troll-free as there are plenty other troll threads in this sub.)

BFL_Josh: 13 May 2013 Update

We just got off the phone with our testing facility... they will have ~100 chips in Chicago tomorrow. What configuration of boards all those are going in, I'm not sure yet as I haven't gotten that far, but I wanted to post an update. We should have more chips in Chicago by the end of the week. The chips going through mounting tomorrow should arrive in KC on Wednesday and we'll be shipping out some units then.

We are having some trouble with the new Single board and we are working through the issues now and should hopefully have a a resolution before the end of the week. Right now, the board is having trouble powering up the second bank of chips, so we are poking and prodding to figure out where the problem is and get it corrected. When we make a change to a board, we can have a revised board the next day, so it doesn't really set things back when we make revisions to an already existing board.

That said, we'll likely be creating a few Singles boards with this set of chips and a number of Jalapeno's. The expected larger quantity of chips later in the week will probably go more towards LS/S/MR boards.

3834  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 14, 2013, 03:53:48 AM
Will this order be the first batch to go through, or was there a group buy that already went 300+ before us ?

3835  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMINER Blade Sales on: May 14, 2013, 02:30:32 AM
How soon do they ship after an order has been placed ?
Based on previous auctions and sales, winners/buyers have received their units within a week of payment. What other company can match that level of service?

Thanks. This is very appealing to me. Thinking of taking the plunge and ordering a single blade.

What is the easiest way to power these devices ? I'm assuming they don't come with power bricks.
3836  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL May 12th Update on: May 14, 2013, 01:50:41 AM
I believe the Apocalyse and Second Coming will come long before there exists a BFL ASIC. I see on BFL forums people who also think the same and have opened threads to that same effect. Sad, isn't it?

I'm actually pretty stunned at how much the tables have turned over there on the BFL forums, and even more stunned that Josh hasn't gone on a massive deleting spree of all the negative comments on the forums.
3837  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL May 12th Update on: May 14, 2013, 01:11:53 AM
Bashing Josh is not going to get us anywhere and IMO makes thing worst –he has to spend time defending himself instead of focusing on geting products out the door.

Perhaps Josh should have thought of the consequences of his chest-puffing, posturing, hubris, ignorance, myopia, inexperience, and a trail of broken promises spanning the globe over the last 8 months.

Schadenfreude, in this case, is completely justified.

Especially if you are a multiple pre-order customer waiting to take delivery of a product we have ordered almost a year ago.

Website very slow/laggy at the moment?

I think the pool shit itself. All my workers just got booted.

Edit: Hiccup. Appeared downtime was < 5mins.

While I'm at it, any chance we can get an option to sort workers alphabetically ? Also, under Statistics-> Blocks/Income, what our share of each block reward was ?

We need Anonymousg64 in here to convince us there is a chance they will ship something.
