3821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P Ethereum - The Pre-Mined ScamCoin is dead on: March 14, 2017, 10:02:29 PM
Why would LTC be 10% of bitcoin ? There are hundreds of similar projects which are better than LTC. On top of that, LTC has the centralization problem because it is not designed with decentralization in mind. Because of it's mining algorithm, asics are used to mine it. And guess where 99% of world's asics are concentrated ? You guessed right, china !
Also, if you hope ETH gonna drop, you're wrong. Metropolis is 3 months away, and it's the second major update after homestead release which launched 1 year ago and skyrocketed ether's price for the first time.
I don't hope ETH is gonna drop. I rarely hope a coin drops. I also don't care about short time speculation. Imo the whole crypto-space is undervalued. I only think in relative terms, crypto vs crypto. Anyway your centralization argument is wrong. It's not near 99% and even if 90% were located in China that doesn't make it centralized. ^^
I am not very interested in LTC, but it has one of the greatest adoptions right now and contrary to ETH and DrASH its holdings are much better spread. Also implementing LTC is super easy for any service that already has BTC implemented. Fees are super low as are tx times. Just saying.

:p Just kidden, was lässt sich schon sicher vorhersagen in diesem abgefahrenen NeulandCheesy
3823  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [ANN] BYTEBALL: komplett neuer Konsens-Algorithmus und private Zahlungen on: March 14, 2017, 06:11:34 PM
3824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P Ethereum - The Pre-Mined ScamCoin is dead on: March 14, 2017, 06:03:17 PM
some ppl. here are lacking basic skills in matter of interpretating volume and graphs.

ETH showed already a reversal to an uptrend.

Which i already explained with common sense (even if that was true, which it's not)

You guys are deceitful bullshitters trying to make ROI's /.
And once again i am being told off by a Noob account with broken English spouting off tired old retorts already destroyed.

Same formula as always.. noob account and 1.5 sentences of poor quality shill work.
Play your games just realize who is in charge chump change scroungers. (Whales / Dev's)

Crypto is a wide open book.. 100% obvious and very predictable.

How did i refute this noob's over-played retort ?

Simple..
Coins sit on exchanges for trading.
When one is effectively dead users flock to it even harder then before.. to buy cheap coinz nom nom nom.
Why ?
Because traders buy ANYTHING ..no matter how shitty or dead it is.
In the hopes it rises 0.00000001 Sat's so they can get a profit from it.
And the more a coin was in the PAST popular the more this phenonema plays out.
So..
Little surges in price equate to sweet fuck all.
It has no bearing on the coin being alive or successful or good or anything really.

It's called commons sense.
I know it's OT, but what's your take on Dash?
I had a little bit invested, because I felt they were ahead of most (all) other coins in terms of marketing. That was about it. However after the insane pump for the last weeks I sold 90% in several intervals. And waiting for the dump. Do you think it can sustain its price? I am just blown away how long it is holding on for now.

Anyway, ETHs price right now is very similar. Regarding their total coin supply and real value they offer I feel like it's just OVERPRICED. Maybe not in total $s but compared to the total market cap of cryptocurrencies. Also LTC is still so low, makes me wonder. LTC should be approx. 1 - 10% of BTC but not less. Any thoughts on that?
3825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Reason Bitcoin will always be #1 on: March 14, 2017, 05:53:11 PM
Personally I don't like the name Bitcoin. As 1.0 BTC is neither a coin nor a bit. The bit part suggests it's something digital, which isn't bad. But there is no relation to a coin. It is actually something completely new and therefore a more innovative name would be appropriate.
Although, I have to admit, it is an okay name for the transition period while people still think in old "money language" terms and need something they can relate to (coins). When cryptocurrencies are no longer a "Neuland"-technology (2025 - 2030+) we might think of a cooler, more fitting name.
3826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why people do not get Bitcoin. on: March 14, 2017, 05:46:42 PM
I think Friedrich Nietzsche said it best — 'And those who were seen dancing were thought to be  insane by those who could not hear the

music.'

We are dancing on the music of a ground breaking technology, also called : The Internet of Money and the rest of the Fiat slaves are not

hearing the music. Can we blame them for not dancing?

I love the quote!
Anyway on your question (statement) why people don't get Bitcoin... I just talked to my stepdad about this again. He is still a skeptic and his argument for more money going towards BTC is "people don't know where else to spend it". Haha, right...
Just goes to show that I either suck at explaining its revolutionary aspect (yeah maybe but I doubt I am THIS bad) but also it is a complex and totally NEW tech, that takes time to comprehend and if a person is lacking the willingness to put some effort in understanding, all time trying to explain or convince someone is wasted.
Same goes if you wanted to explain why email is so great 25 or 30 years ago to someone. They'll look at you and say, "well I got a telephone, so this is faster and more direct and if it needs to be written down we have a well functioning post office system."  Embarrassed

3829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the whole Cryptocurrency market: UPUPUPUP? Reality-check! on: March 13, 2017, 04:29:56 AM
When looking at the greater picture, I feel like the whole market was and still is totally underrated and I expect a market cap of 1 trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) or more in 2025.

It is a technology that is growing exponentially right now, with hundreds of thousands of start-ups yet to come and millions of people yet to adopt it.

No scientific study here, but I talk to people in my circle about it and they are intrigued, it's novel, and none of them have any interest in taking it further for themselves. I feel the same exists everywhere. I feel like people think it's some nerdy tech geek "game to play".

THIS! I feel you totally on that one. Only my parents trust me enough that I actually got them involved a little. That's a great start. But whenever I talk to close friends or my other relatives they look at me with scepicism. I have gotten better at explaining why cryptocurriencies will change the world, but still I feel like there is a fundamental rejection coming from most people.

I have to say, though, I am not suprised. I myself suffered form prejeduces and an-auto-reject-response myself for years before I finally got to dig a little deeper into the topic last year. Some part of me was convinced that bitcoin was just a geeky thing and definitly hackable, as all things I had known so far were hackable. Yeah, that was the main point that turned me off: The idea of a currency that could be hacked. Boy was I wrong. I guess hacking a bank is easier right now than hacking Bitcoin.
3830  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GENESIS-MINING Review: full disclosure, Cloud Mining Day 0 (+get free Steem/BTC) on: March 13, 2017, 02:41:55 AM
can u do this with hashnest also. its actually alot cheaper over there. i dont think this is much of a experiment at gm  ,since its  way overprice.
Yes I will do this with hashnest, too. Right now they don't have their Antminer contracts available.
I guess I should have done more research - although it's not that important to me I am really disappointed right now by the low payouts of GM.
3831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and the whole Cryptocurrency market: UPUPUPUP? Reality-check! on: March 13, 2017, 02:35:35 AM
Hi everybody,

for about eigth months now I have been intensly "studying" all sorts of Bitcoin and Crypto related things. It's totally fascinating and whenever I watch an Andreas Antonopoulos video I am 101% convinced that this technology will tranform the financial world we are used to.  Cheesy

However I would like to hear what crypto-veterans think about the recent increase in Bitcoins- and Altcoins total market cap. Is it growing too much, are we in a bubble?

When looking at the greater picture, I feel like the whole market was and still is totally underrated and I expect a market cap of 1 trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) or more in 2025. It is a technology that is growing exponentially right now, with hundreds of thousands of start-ups yet to come and millions of people yet to adopt it.
Still, I am not an expert and wonder what you guys, that may have much more knowledge, think about the potential market cap and the recent uptrend!

Regards,
Kry

I like the fact that this seems to still be in a very early phase and the dev is actually asking for feedback from the community. Let's see how this may turn out. Smiley
3833  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GENESIS-MINING Review: full disclosure, Cloud Mining Day 0 (+get free Steem/BTC) on: March 13, 2017, 12:58:57 AM
Please do not refer more people to this website. We all know that cloud mining is not as profitable as it used to. People can never ROI in a year if they mine Bitcoin. Moreover, investing your money in cloud mining is very risky. There are many people has lost their money in those kind of services. You can never know when they will become scammers and run away with a huge amount of Bitcoin
I was actually thinking about joining one of these cloud mining sites but the first line of your opening statement makes sense. People can not roi in the first year of mining bitcoin so why would you even think these mining companies will pay you even your original investment back within the year or even after that?
How would they make any money from doing this? If they didn't then why would they have made this business in the first place. Roll Eyes
It is pure macroeconomics to think logically about their bottom line here. Tongue
Imo the idea of any investment is taking a risk (in this case for example the risk that bitcoin might crash) and companies look for risk reduction by sharing some profit while also sharing the risk (THIS is pure macroeconomics). At least that is how it should work. If you can't even make your ROI + a little extra back in a year then I am inclined to call it scam.
We will see. I am not here to promote, but because I am curious myself as there are all different nuances of statements about Genesis Mining. Some people claim got get more than 150% ROI back while others say it's impossible. I didn't invest much, if I see good results I might invest more. But as of right now, with the first small payout I highly doubt that... if it doesn't increase their mining contracts are indeed scam.
3834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GENESIS-MINING Review: full disclosure, Cloud Mining Day 0 (+get free Steem/BTC) on: March 12, 2017, 10:16:30 PM

Don't worry, I am not advertising their service. As you can see in my latest post I am calculating the expected time to reach ROI. If the payouts stay as small as the first one was and if difficulty in the mining network continues reaching ROI will probably be impossible. If this is the case I will point it out in all my new blogposts about GM mining.

Here is my detailed Day 1 review: https://steemit.com/mining/@xwerk/genesis-mining-review-day-1-bitcoin-cloud-mining-or-full-disclosure-steem-btc-giveaway

I will also be looking in NiceHash contracts as it was recently pointed out to me that these are more profitable. If I do invest there I will be comparing GM to it.
3835  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017? on: March 12, 2017, 10:12:07 PM
But was it profitable for you (to buy the accounts)? Because the income from cloud mining is lower each new day. I think the only way to make some good profit would be buying and reselling accounts, always selling more expensive than you bought. If you depends only the mining income you will probably wait forever until hit ROI.

Yes it's profitable, but it takes time.
But for example, a new contract has lost half of his value already for me.

What exactly do you mean by that? And hich contract are you referring to?

The team would create 49,000,000 Coins ( 49 Million )
Out of which 70% of it would be sold 34,000,000 (34 Million )
The team would own 300,000 Gambleo which would be used for Bounties and Development .

So 300k for bounties and developement, right?
What happens to the remaining 30% / 15,000,000 coins?

(Update Day 1:

It is now more than 24 hours (26:20 h) that my contract was validated but I still did not receive my mining payment. That sucks. Especially because they state the following:
Please be patient for your payout since they are only done once a day. Because you started in the middle of our 24-hour payout period your first payout is expected to be less than the following.

If this statement was correct I should have received my first payment by now, althought it would probably be less than in the upcoming days.

Let's see how this develops...)

EDIT: Just received my first payment, update on Steemit coming soon!
3839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ☘☘☘☘️☘️EDGELESS CASINO ICO LIVE! ALREADY RAISED 50K ETH☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ on: March 12, 2017, 03:17:11 AM
I may be sounding very negtive here. It's because I feel a little frustrated as I like the basic idea and some of the plans they have. If they wouldn't have this greedy-model I would defninitly invest, despite the fact that I invested in Peerplays. But they keep 10% for themselfes + 2% "for partners" to begin with and then an additional 60% of the remaining 88%. IN TOTAL edgless GREEDY devs are holding 12% + 66%*88% = 70,08%.
That's just insane!

I respell it for everyone:

In total 70,08% of all tokens and profits are going to the edgless casino team. ffs! Typical casino rip-off tactic if you ask me. UGH.

The project seems really interesting. And its good to see that it is growing pretty well day by day.
it seems clear from the edgeless successful, all this thanks to the edgeless teams who have struggled and worked hard to build a great project to make casino gambling sites, which is very good and active in answering all your questions to participate and invest in projects edgeless.
Lol at all the shills posting just for the sake of posting to create posts WITH ZERO information value.
how much do you get at peerplays? consider the big valuation differences. people who are now investing in peerplays are just stupid. they split the inital tokens 1:10. This makes a valuation of 50 Million for the 5$ dollar tokrn at the current ICO. I rather get 30% of a big piece instead of 90% of a very little piece
Also they are NOT miles ahead although they are working on it since a year now.... They have already missed their 2016 goals and their proof of concept was a joke in my eyes (compare it with the etherslot here. this is light years ahead). I will bet that edgeless will have a running casino before peerplays.

50$ M is not that much for the casino market. HOWEVER the total issued tokens are set to be 5.9 M @ $5, which is less than $30 M evaluation.
That beeing said you got a point about having only 30% of a bigger piece beeing a plus. Etherslots looks nice, too. Anyway, Peerplays stays my favourite, they ARE far ahead right now. And not sticking to the roadmap timescedule is just totally normal for any project, I would be suprised if it will be different for edgeless.
We will see, though. Exciting times. Exciting projects.
3840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017? on: March 12, 2017, 02:29:46 AM
I decided to fianally find out by myself if cloud-mining in 2017 can still be profitable.

Just today I started blogging about it, with very detailed statistics/analytics: https://steemit.com/mining/@xwerk/genesis-mining-review-full-disclosure-bitcoin-cloud-mining-day-0-steem-btc-giveaway
Why them over hashnest.

Btw, I just read hashnest terms:

Contract Expiry

The contract expires at the moment that the principal has been paid back in full.
BITMAIN may pay extra Bitcoin to the owner of PACMiC before the principal has been paid back in full, which will accelerate the payout even more.

What the hell? Do i understand this correctly? The contract is terminated as soon as I get my money back? Why should I pay them if I won't make profit as defined by the contract?! Or am I getting something wrong here?

/EDIT: Sorry, I found this upon further reading:
Q:When does the user start to get the profit? Where does the bonus go?
A:Bonus payout begins accumulating when the first block is found after contract activation. Bonus will be paid directly to user’s wallet on Hashnest.com

Q: How does the customer make profit?
A: Bonus payouts are calculated using the formula: unpaid principal (BTC) * 0.45 (satoshis per BTC per second) * time to find a block (seconds). Mining revenue will first be used to make bonus payments, the remaining of mining revenue will be payment towards the purchase price.
