3841  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: July 20, 2022, 01:58:43 PM
Well, as we know by now.... Most of the Corona Virus hysteria has past now... and people have realized that it was all hyped up by governments and paid media to push for their agenda to print money for big pharmaceutical companies and to get big kickbacks and bribes. So now stadiums are filled again.... and that is what athletes need to perform better.  Wink

As someone who worked closely with pharmaceuticals, hospitals, governments, and laboratories during the height of the pandemic, I wouldn't say that it was all for big pharma companies to get a big boost on their profits. We were tasked to collect data independent of those that the government are getting, so as to contribute to the global initiative of COVID cases reporting that is unbiased and factual. The difference isn't night and day, and there really was a problem in COVID outbreaks before. But since people were able to build up immunity and natural resistance to the virus over time, the cases that we're getting right now are much less severe and can be treated even at the comfort of the infected person's home.

I watched some Rugby games that was streamed during the pandemic and it was very sad.... and without the usual spark that we were used to when the stadiums were full.  Roll Eyes

I agree, though I must say that the local leagues that we have this year are extremely lively since it's been over 2 years with no live sporting events for our community. There's that at least, though hopefully the big leagues can catch up with the hype.

This guy doesn't ring a bell, nor does he have proven track record on sports betting. I would trust guys posting their picks here in this forum than this dude on Youtube who is obviously basing his picks on other people's picks as well. Here in the forum, you'll get an explanation on the pick, plus some other insights as to how the game could possibly unfold. Or even better, do some research on the sport, check the live updates on the teams, and make your own bets depending on those information. At least you don't have anyone to blame in the event of a loss.

I'm keen on where he kept his coins all these years that he still has easy access to them. People who often forgot that they have things lying around usually throw these items unknowingly. Lucky for your friend since he still managed to keep his coins and gain access to it when the time came. I remember the thrill of checking the price almost every hour to see if my initial investments already generated a profit. Good times, and I'm still into bitcoin even though I have left my habit of constantly checking the price.
3844  Economy / Economics / Re: Your coins on CEX may be at risk this bear season on: July 16, 2022, 08:35:26 PM
Bear market or not, funds are always at risk when kept only at CEX. These platforms are in constant threat to hackers and inside jobs, hence why it's unwise to keep your funds there for an extended period of time. It's funny that even with all the advisories and hacks that happened throughout the years on exchanges, people still think that these places are the best safekeepers of their own funds. You'll never know when these exchanges will get their coffers drained so better keep your funds yourself to not get burned in the end.
3845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Its One Too Many on: July 16, 2022, 07:58:11 PM
but if you can't pay, you can't pay. Maybe the mistake that many casino commit is to not cap bets instead to allow it with unlimited amount.

And in the event of a win on the gambler's side, the casino has no money to pay this winner in full, then a scam accusation will roll out. Having a max bet limit on casinos ensure that the platform will always have the capability to pay in the event of a win. They're being honest that that's the only amount they can match and that is perfectly fine. Better to have small profits in the beginning than to lose it all hig time if someone wins against the house with a bet you can't afford to match.
3846  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: July 16, 2022, 06:15:10 PM
Gambling should always be treated with a cool head. Emotions are superfluous here. If you show unnecessary emotions, you will lose. There is no place for impulsive people in serious gambling, everything must be calculated.

Aside from that, it isn't bad to have a plan for every gambling session.  It is one way of gambling responsibly.  Planning the time allocation, money to spend on bankroll, and keeping a tab of the time is one of the things we must consider in playing a Casino game.

As someone who has a fixed amount to gamble every Saturday, I can attest to this. I don't really care that much in winning or losing, but it would be nice to win for a few times since it extends my playtime in the casino. I constantly lose $100 in a month due to gambling, nothing more. It's a somewhat costly hobby but better than any other activities out there that will make me spend thousands upon thousands just to get what I want from it. Never had problems with my attitude towards gambling either. Never looked forward to playing it on weekends, too, but since it's an activity that cannot be replaced in the mean time, I'll still do it and play for fun and not for the profits.
3847  Economy / Economics / Re: Cooperative investing between small investors on: July 16, 2022, 04:52:41 PM
On paper this seems like an extremely good idea, but it is built in the concept of trust, which is easily broken with money. Also, if a website exists to cater this investment-pooling idea, they would certainly take a cut from your profits so that's another factor that should be taken into consideration. Basically, what you're looking for is a bank that uses other people's pooled money in order to invest into things, and the profits are divided amongst the investors with the bank taking the largest portion of the cut.
3848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 16, 2022, 03:10:14 PM
Bans can only address the official channels of gambling but what about the underground gambling dens and all those shady stuff that the government didn't account for? Banning is not always the solution. It can only help seal one side of the problem but there will always be leaks somewhere. Also, it adds up to the economy by a huge percent creating jobs and feeding families. While it might sound fucked up that we are profiting off of the suffering of others, letting gambling flourish is better than banning it and still produce some addicts because of it.
3849  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chasing a x330,000 on: July 16, 2022, 11:27:18 AM
Definitely need to get this challenge on all dice sites just to put up some interesting (but rather useless) statistic. Perhaps you'll get this multiplier earlier than 1 million to continue chasing for huge multipliers. If it exceeds even 330k bets, you'll still be negative profit but at least you managed to hit that elusive multiplier. It's worth the time, money, and effort if you hit the jackpot, though I don't think it will be rewarding money-wise in the long run.

Good luck on the bets!
3850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 15, 2022, 09:07:03 PM
If this ever happens in the big leagues, then that one guy who intentionally missed the shot and the goalkeeper who didn't do his job will be fined and get fired immediately. I think this only happens on the lower leagues or not wherein match fixing is rampant and under the table bets are done, or on leagues with extreme corruption that everyone feels like this is all normal, but on a professional level and well-known leagues, this will never happen. There may be some match fixing that happens but not this intentional, that's for sure. It's laughable that stuff like this happens and someone was able to record it. A true gem in sports indeed, albeit a negative one Cheesy
3851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD Has Finally Taken Its Toll on Me on: July 15, 2022, 08:38:06 PM
Best course of action is to do what you think is right and protect your assets in ways that you believe is better for you. The energy debate has been going on for years and major news outlets alongside huge names in the financial sector only rehashes what has already been said about the topic. While there are some interesting statements pointed out there that supports the argument 'bitcoin wastes a lot of energy', those things can also be said against other industries that does not really help the betterment of the masses at all.

I know that if bitcoin climbs back up again in a few years time, you'll be regretting your decision right now but hey, at least you took off the burden that's taxing for you.
3852  Economy / Gambling / Re: A New Era for Betting - (After Corona Circumstances) on: July 15, 2022, 07:41:03 PM
With crowds slowly returning to stadiums, I think it will be a huge morale boost for teams which will result to them playing more beautifully. A lot of hype matches will surely arise and a lot more epic moments will be produced. Just imagine how pumped these players are after not playing in the stadium with real, live fans watching for years. Must be extremely nice to show your talent and your skills to the world again. Betting would surely be more enjoyable and more realistic given that we're slowly returning to normalcy.
3853  Economy / Gambling / Re: Olimp.com - Lifetime 5% Crypto Deposit Bonus - Betting and Casino on: July 15, 2022, 04:59:35 PM
Just checked the site and it gives me Cloudbet vibes a few years back. It would be best if you would really amp up your advertisement game and not bring us some bland-looking announcement. It's good that you are already in the works for your brand, though it would have been better if you held back your announcement until you're fully ready. Not much to say about the site, although it's not really mobile-friendly when you're trying to access it with a phone. There is also a lot of wait time involved when you click links, so you might as well get someone to fix that.
Any relation between Olimp and Cloudbet?
Or did you only talk about similar UI of two casinos, Olimp now and Cloudbet years ago?

It is common if a same team create theri second or third casino after a first successful one. We have Primedice and Stake, Sporstbet.io and Bitcasino.io and recently that team launched their third one Livecasino.io

I agree that any casino should have a mobile responsive UI for users or better Mobile application for gamblers. To play game, make bets, they will like to do it on mobile, on couch, in bed rather that stay on chair and in computer.

It's the UI that gives me this nostalgic feeling. There seems to be a mixed element of cloudbet landing page and Nitrogen's events page. Perhaps they got some idea on those design elements. It makes me want to try and placing a bet on this casino just because of that feeling, but there's just a lot of gray areas that still need clarification by OP before I make the first deposit.

Some amazing Dota games yesterday starting off with EG 2-0'ing Quincy Crew to make it a 3 way tie for the top spot. Team Spirit edging past BetBoom in 3 maps. Fanatic 2-0 T1 and then team Entity reverse sweeping team Secret after Secret wins 1st map convincingly and to end it all, Team Liquid 2-0 OG for the 2nd time in a row.

I watch OG and Team Liquid, Team Liquid never disappoints me for choosing them. My bet last time with them was +1.5 and yesterday I got the courage to bet 2-0 in favor with Team Liquid. Matumbaman is very strong in both Lone Druid and Bristleback once he manage to pick it with less counter on the opponent. They own OG on both match but I’m still not convinced much that this is the real OG with 100% heart in the game. I really feel that they are giving them Liquid chance to get more DPC points for TI spot since there position is already secured.

Actually team liquid makes the new meta bring up in the pro scene like for example the KOTL mid and the safelane pudge even the razor cant do anything + marci with the IO + pudge combo and because of this pudge flesh update i guess there's something might changes with it imagine there's no damage bring with the rot and at the same time lifesteal with the dismember, also the KOTL + bristle back takes easy to rampage by Matu.

This team recognizes the potential of these heroes that are often ignored in the past. I'd love to see someone finally use a mid Chen that's been ravaging immortal pubs for a few days now, given how OP that hero is with enough neutral creeps. Ana can do crazy things like that although I believe he wouldn't risk this tournament just to add some style points on his return. Insania has a lot of crazy ideas as a captain that other teams adapt on their meta but it's just that they're having a hard time converting those ideas into wins.
3856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 15, 2022, 02:59:42 PM
Chinese businessmen are really keen into following this belief that the Western world adopted it. There's nothing wrong in following these superstitions as long as you are a level-headed person that knows common sense is always better than making things complicated. Sometimes, I too, follow the feng shui unknowingly whenever I am gambling. Mind you, I'm not gambling for profit, but sometimes I avoid rolling for a minute just because the time on the clock has "13" in it. It's crazy how this way of thinking affects a lot of people around the world, and one can find its influence in almost every industry imaginable.
3857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino can play a role in changing fortune? on: July 14, 2022, 06:50:00 PM
It's a one in a million event that rarely happens. The guy in the story managed to become rich because of luck, and he knows when to stop, too. Not a lot of people have that willpower in them to begin with hence even if they managed to win big, they'd still end up to square 1 simply because they can't stop. The first step is self-control, and if you do not have this, better not gamble and just work diligently or perhaps, open up a business and pray that it succeeds.
3858  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: July 14, 2022, 05:53:14 PM
A lot of the problems become from the culture of having reviews done by professionals and even people who are incentivised in a perverse way to leave good reviews. Even youtubers and other influencers have a price and they certainly can make anything look very good or even try to appear very objective while actually not giving a correct impression.

Best advice: use this forum for it.

And in exchange they will be tarnishing the brand that they've spent countless of hours on just to put out some reviews for a platform that is not even half-good. I'd say that's a pretty good deal for us who are fed with these fake reviews as we will be witnessing the downfall of these brands together with the platform that they paid in order to make themselves look good.

I agree that it is somehow best to use this forum as a reference before making that first deposit on a platform because there is a huge chance that the platform that you're wanting to play into already has a review dedicated here in the gambling section (albeit the amount of mess that the section has).
3859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 14, 2022, 05:22:13 PM
Having more options is lovely, but with it comes complications on the gambling platform's side which will, in turn, cause some routine downtimes in order to ensure that everything is working properly and that no loopholes are present that could potentially affect the service. Personally I don't mind having fewer options on withdrawals so long as this part of the platform has a 100% uptime when I needed it. It might just be new user preference to look for tons of options for withdrawal before they start making a deposit, but after some time they'd just stick to what's convenient and will not exhaust the options provided to them.
3860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: July 13, 2022, 10:33:53 AM
It looks like all cryptos went down in the past few weeks/months, Bitcoin is down, Ethereum is down.

Among the few ones that actually haven't lost a lot of value are cryptos that represent gambling sites, for instance:

  • BFG for BetFury - they offer currently up to 76% yields per annum on the BFG token that is paid in other cryptos such as USDT, BNB etc.
  • OWL for OwlGames - they offer 43% per annum on their OWL token, their currency has actually went up in value whilst all other cryptos went down - and why? Anyone knows?
  • TFS for FairSpin - not very popular but represents FairSpin, didn't go down in value much either.

Are these things similar to what we had in the 1990s and 2000s before Crypto - like buying "William Hill" or "Ladbrokes" stocks? Is it more or less the same thing just in Crypto?

Just like any other cryptocurrencies, it's good to buy on these tokens when the market is down, although of course there needs to be some caution taken into consideration as these are not your regular cryptocurrency, and it highly depends on the performance of the platform that it represents. I don't see any point in investing on these casinos through their tokens. I can invest on their bankroll sure, but their tokens? That's an entirely different story.

And why OWL keeps on going up in price? Honestly their site doesn't seem to be very unique or impressive - anyone has a credible explanation who is behind the price rise of that OWL token?!

 Huh

I'm pretty certain you know the answer: manipulation. It's highly improbable for a relatively unknown token to appreciate in value in the midst of a bear market, and the only way it can get some volume and attention to itself is by means of artificial growth achieved through pumps. Not saying that OWL is shit, it's just that it's a relatively unknown token at this point and that any interest that it garners is probably from artificial sources looking to lure people into buying it before they dump their bags onto these new buyers. But again, who knows? It could be anything at this point.
