But I don’t think they will be able to maintain this position until the end of the season. Looking at Hyderabad's gameplay, I think their main goal in every match is to play defensively and draw the match. They have played 15 matches this season, winning 5 and drawing 7. In the last 5 matches, they have won only 1 and drawn 4. Whatever their strategy is, they have made good progress this season. Sometimes taking a defensive stance may be the best thing to do. Else how can you explain Hyderabad FC at 3rd position, and Bengaluru FC at 6th? Their next three matches are against NEUFC, East Bengal and Kerala Blasters. If they win two out of these three, then they are in a good position to get themselves promoted to the 2nd spot. Defensive gameplay is best when you don't have enough talented strikers. While I was expecting PSG to secure the win, shockingly Lorient turned the game around and won 3-2. This was a bad hit to PSG and they are at the 3rd place because Lille are 1-0 ahead now. My pick is Tamil Nadu because they lost the last tournament for just one run and they are here in this tournament to win it and Dinesh Karthik is a really great captain and i really liked his tactical approach and how he manages the bowlers and giving them advice every delivery on where to bowl and giving them confidence even if they are hit for boundaries.

New Zealand is a really difficult team to beat in their home turf and the issue is that Pakistan never showed any signs of fight back while India with a depleted team was able to defeat Australia. Pakistan is playing in their turf and they should win the match as Pakistan just need 88 runs to win the match. The spinners bowled really well in this match and hopefully Pakistan will cross the finishing line without loosing much wickets. Pakistan reached the target without losing 7 wickets. They played great throughout the match. Such a comeback was great after losing 2 Test match by an innings against New Zealand. But I think South Africa will be able to win the next Test match. |
