3841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin party 2017 has just began! on: November 10, 2017, 03:14:57 PM
I just bought STR now. Amazing it went up 5x today. Aside from STR, DGB, XLM , XRP , BTS, SC are also going up. I also spare a good amount of BTC to average down just incase my current position may went down. Up next the secondary coins. May I know your crypto bags?

BTC with a $2000 gain, the party is better there than anywhere else.  A Lot of fear over the past month for some, those with the faith have seen the returns and it is all wine and roses for those.  I have seen more people hunting and pecking at old BTC wallets that they ignored and lost, looking for scarps in the past week than in any other time.  Even the $7000 price boundary was not this exciting for many.  Back then it was easy to see it coming, there were many here with doubts.
3842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what do you think about pump and dump? on: November 10, 2017, 02:46:40 PM
First, it is a fact and not going to change anytime soon.  The words may go away, but the actions are still there.  The pumps are done by one or two people, sometimes a small group, but the dumping is something that everyone makes happen.  The initial run and bail may be the pump group, but the downward slide is everyone getting the hell out as the price drops.
3843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoins or not? on: November 10, 2017, 02:28:09 PM
Sure, that is the way we make the money. There is no single envelope to put all alt coin prices in. You cannot base one coins future on even all the rest. It is a singles market and it takes very big news or change to make a sweeping market change. At the lowest points, there are always those that buy and buy, bringing the markets back up again.
3844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinGold is a Scam!?! Carefull with Your Bitcoin Private Keys!!! on: November 10, 2017, 01:46:17 PM
hello friends,

The BCG scam site https://claimbitcoin.gold/

people are still not understanding about BCC and yet another BCG is trying to scam people's BTC..

i am just sharing my perceptions and raising doubts...

As per my knowledge BCC (Bitcoin Cash) is worth trusting to claim the free coins and sell them for a quick buck but what about the BCG (Bitcoin Gold) ?

There is no electrum wallet for BCG and the website asking people to enter thevBTC private keys directly onto their website to open an account or wallet of BCG  Huh

well i tried to enter my BTC private keys (encrypted) but guess what i only see one error message as shown below ..

so friends, after entering all my BTC privatekeys , i see only one message as shown above..

if anyone tried and claimed BCG Huh? not sure.. if not don't even think about it because i feel that this site is trying to collect everyone's BCG  Tongue

Is it a scam? There is no well to tell until it is too late if you give out those keys.  It is up to you if you want to trust a dev group of strangers with your money. If a total stranger approached you in your bank and said that the bank was moving(say that it is moving) and that they are collecting the deposits for the day to run to the new location, you would never give them your money, but I guarantee that people will here and then be amazed of something happens.
3845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 10, 2017, 01:23:48 PM
We came here based on an interest in something that we saw benefits in. We have our own interest set, whether it be the business and income options, the technology, the finance, or whatever. There is a group out there that has no idea that Bitcoin exists, and they may never, it is just outside their interest and awareness range.

There is yet another group that had contact with it and simply didn't care. There are others that will come and go and maybe play with it some. We cannot expect others to have the same interests and opinions as us and there is simply going to be many people that do not care.
3846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: android mining on: November 10, 2017, 01:11:45 PM
how about equihash or ether mining in android???
can anyone help me about that by giving information of any equihash or ether mining app for android???

There are a few mining apps for Android, seems mostly Scrypt. In the Scrypt range, the apps have reported speeds in the range of standard, out of the box laptops. I never went further than that. I assume there is a 50/50 chance that they are scams. I would think that anything besides Scrypt would need root access and the software would be hidden, without any open source. I am not willing to put that kind of trust into something that my old laptop can do.
3847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How Often do you Check Your Rigs? on: November 10, 2017, 09:15:53 AM
Hi All, how often do you check on your rigs?  I notice that I get anxiety when I check them -- as if I'm going to find some rigs down.  This has happened a couple of times.

Other times, it has been smooth sailing.

I find myself not wanting to check some times fearing I might see some bad news.

I'm wondering if anyone has a strategy for checking their rigs without it stressing you out.

We have scripts setup to do that.  We still run about 40 rigs out of the old server room that we no longer need.  It is a mile from the main office, but we have a lot of scripted checks and rechecks, plus one server that acts as a network access point of sorts that we can SSH into them from anywhere.  But, generally once per week now that they are configured perfectly.  In the beginning, once a day.
3848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lifespan of a GPU in mining on: November 10, 2017, 08:03:18 AM
There are different things that come to bear on it. There are coins and pieces of software that are not as hard on a card as others. You can also run the system like a server and set it up and then SSH into the system for control, and not have a video output, meaning less work for the card. Heat, the CPU itself, the general environment all have parts they play in the life of the GPU.
3849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get a static Bitcoin adress ? on: November 09, 2017, 05:01:15 PM
Hello,i have some troubles : I use blockchain.info to send and receive Bitcoin, but it has a huge problem : whenever i send or receive payment, my bitcoin adress change right after
How to deal with this please ?  how to fix this problem ?
How to get a static bitcoin adress ?

They work out systems at the sites to save you and the money. Rather than use extra addresses and transfer funds around, they use a database and keep the funds together in fewer addresses. This is not to hurt you, but to keep the cost down when all these fools do nothing but shoot coins from one place to another for no reason at all.
3850  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exchange abitrage ? on: November 09, 2017, 07:02:07 AM
I'm new to this market, but I just did a test and it seems coincap and coinbase have 1-2% different prices in real time on the same  currency. Do other's see this? If that's really the case then there is a huge opportunity for gain without risk in this new market.

Why would there be a difference?

Robert

Perhaps this post will not be removed as my first post was on the question about how Coinbase could possibly not transfer Bitcoin cash to the Bitcoin holders in Coinbase.

Robert

There are those that do nothing but that, the fact is that the fees and other tidbits here and there eat you alive, so it is a hard game to play and the numbers have to be big. You also have to be fast and you have to watch the volumes and make sure that there is a trade for you on the other side when you get there, or you are just sitting with coins in your wallet and no one to sell them to. Some people use software for this type of trade and anything that helps is good.
3851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 & PSU from 51Asic.com - Possible ? on: November 07, 2017, 03:28:43 PM
Why not? As long as the output meets the specs and the connections are what you need. Power supplies are pretty much homogeneous and the important part is the amount of power coming out. I would even go a little over the top if I were you. If everything is the way ti should be then you could even cancel the order for the other supply and stick with the one you have.
3852  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin.com The Bitcoin Store on: November 07, 2017, 01:54:35 PM
Are they out of business?  They have been updating their store website for weeks now.  I ordered a ledger nano s back in June for a September ship date but haven't received anything yet and they do not respond to email contact for order status.

Seems a little shady at the moment.

Oh, sorry to hear that thing from you. Yes it seems so shaddy after a almost 3 months of waiting, it must not be like that, better contact them in social media or customer service. Running away business after getting the money. This must be a learning for everyone in here to not to trust a newly created bitcoins sites without proper verification.
3853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solo Mining Digibytes - NVIDIA ccminer - July 2017 on: November 07, 2017, 01:43:24 PM
I think that we hit digi when it first came out and did well. I like it when the diff either drops back down or sticks to a lower area where the newer guys can get in a start mining something and see a result. A lot of people leave because they either have no desire to buy into coins or no money, and they have nothing that they can do to produce any. Coins like digi make it possible for them to get a foot in the door.
3854  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best technical tools on: November 06, 2017, 04:15:24 PM
Which websites do you use to monitor thinks as: number of short/long positions in BTC, money in/out flow, and other technical graphs?
Depends on your trading and other needs.  Block cipher is nice for all things blockchain, there is even a miner preference value where you can see how well the miners will like a TX.  Coin market cap for coin info, this usually has the links for the announcements and other needed coin ref's.

There is also crypto guru and a few others.  You can google for many more.

3857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recently acquired some POS Coins - Efficient way to Stake? on: October 31, 2017, 07:17:46 AM
So I have have a few coins that are either going POS in the near term or that just recently went POS (Signatum) but I didn't realize I had to actually leave the wallet open.  Its kind of a bummer because it consumes electricity if I use my main computer and my mining rig has a small hard-drive so I'm concerned the blockchain will take up too much space if i stake it on that (though its always on anyways).  What do my green friends use to stake their coins?

What we do is we have six different PCS setting aside that are are sticky computers. There's a website out there that was doing this for you but it's had some pretty high fees and it started to drop coins left and right. Just set up an old computer doesn't have to be anything special and run the Wallets on there. Keep in mind that every coin is going to have a different set of roll rules but you can pretty much set aside enough space to make this happen for a hundred coins on a specific PC.
3858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto based credit/debit cards? on: October 31, 2017, 04:56:24 AM
Just saw Monaco Visa card, and the idea looks usefull.
Any experiences with this type of services?
There are several out there and all of them have the same things in common. Their fees are too high at their minimums and maximums are at the wrong places. You're going to find that the best way for you to actually use a debit card or credit card is to Simply stick with Fiat on that and then if you wish to trade back and forth but that's your choice. But I have not yet found one that has anything near the right set of numbers to make it worthwhile to be used
3859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you OK with Bitcoin being called a token? on: October 27, 2017, 02:34:10 PM
Popular use of the word "token", in this community, is/was related to "ETH ICO bubble things", not the creation of Satoshi known as Bitcoin.

BTC = Bit COIN not Bit Token
"...bitcoin closed Tuesday at $4,009 per token — twice its price in July..."
https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2017/09/21/bitcoin-buyers-libertarian-bent-drive-prices-records/594971001/
The above is only one of way too many recent examples in the media.

Are you OK with Bitcoin being called a token?
Do you need to be sent to crypto re-education camp?  Cheesy

Not at all. The same way that you can call the FIAT in my bank account anything you want. Especially when these words come from well outside the crypto world. In my little group that I chat and trade with I would likely correct a new guy, to help him out, but if he or anyone wants to call it a token, more power to them.

The day when a persons words takes money from me, that is the day that something strange has occurred.
3860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin core database on: October 26, 2017, 05:13:47 PM
Is bitcoin core database is supposed to be identical on each computer, if they have all blocks till the most recent block downloaded?
If two databases for users A and B have all blockchain blocks do they have them stored in the same order or different?
For example, if we consider some file blk00100.dat should it be the same file for on each computer where bitcoin core is installed and database is downloaded? Or A may have blocks Nx..Ny on his database whereas B may have Ny..Nz on his computer?

I cannot speak for a bit for bit comparison, but that chain is based on a data chain from block 0 up. A downloaded chain is simply a copy of that original chain. Imagine a checkbook register, each copy still starts with the first transaction and onward, as though it were the original.

Each PC may lay it out a little different within the bit per bit, DD style memory, but those are not just flippant copies of the original block, each is a copy of that chain, perhaps copied over and over, but still a copy.
