3841  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Viable in 2017? on: March 12, 2017, 02:16:48 AM
I decided to fianally find out by myself if cloud-mining in 2017 can still be profitable.

Just today I started blogging about it, with very detailed statistics/analytics: https://steemit.com/mining/@xwerk/genesis-mining-review-full-disclosure-bitcoin-cloud-mining-day-0-steem-btc-giveaway
Why did you choose this specific company? Why them over hashnest.
With all the opinions from former Genesis users about them terminating contracts before the expiration date and very long ROI times I wouldn't expect anyone to try them unless they were paid to do it.
Cloud mining in general isn't a great investment but if I had to choose I'd say Hashnest has a much better offer than Genesis.
Well I read both kind of comments and it's not that much that I invested. I am curious and obviously hope to ROI. I am not paid by GM, would be nice if I were. What's so bad about reporting in detail about it? Did you read my article, I'll track every relevant stat. After a hand full of payments it should be clear if reaching ROI or more is likely or not. I also COMPARE to holding BTC vs investing. And I won't use referrals to upgrade my account and therefore making accurate tracking impossible - instead I'll be donating 50% back to the community.

Anyways thanks for the hint about hashnest. Well, obviously I have to assume you are paid by them now.  Cheesy
But I will try and purchase a similar contract with them, this should make for a nice comparison.

I finally got my stake-tickets to work. Is there a way to show expected returns? Also when do you get the returns on your PoS?

People still don't see the hidden potential behind Decred, better then XMR or DASH...
What exactly are the features that make you say that?
I am still pretty new. I sold some Dash for Decred, so I believe it to be true, too. My knowledge about Decred is still growing. ; )
3843  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: AUGMENTORS ICO on: March 11, 2017, 08:21:30 PM

I may be sounding very negtive here. It's because I feel a little frustrated as I like the basic idea and some of the plans they have. If they wouldn't have this greedy-model I would defninitly invest, despite the fact that I invested in Peerplays. But they keep 10% for themselfes + 2% "for partners" to begin with and then an additional 60% of the remaining 88%. IN TOTAL edgless GREEDY devs are holding 12% + 66%*88% = 70,08%.
That's just insane!

I respell it for everyone:

In total 70,08% of all tokens and profits are going to the edgless casino team. ffs! Typical casino rip-off tactic if you ask me. UGH.

The project seems really interesting. And its good to see that it is growing pretty well day by day.
it seems clear from the edgeless successful, all this thanks to the edgeless teams who have struggled and worked hard to build a great project to make casino gambling sites, which is very good and active in answering all your questions to participate and invest in projects edgeless.
Lol at all the shills posting just for the sake of posting to create posts WITH ZERO information value.

Hi there team,

What do the token holders stand to gain other than being able to take part in winning 40% of the monthly profits?

Also, it the 40% the jackpot for one person or will there be multiple winners.

I'm writing an article and want to include this info in it.

Thanks

I have been looking, too and did not find any more details on HOW EXACTLY the remaining 40% are distributed. Not even in their white-paper. What a joke, glad I decided to invest in Peerplays instead. They are miles ahead and stakeholders get 90% not a laughable 40%.
Also I wonder what EXACTLY IS THE REASON to share the 40% profit via a lottery instead of directly sharing 1:1 based on the tokens someone is holding? Do you want to appeal to the gamblers mind?
3846  Economy / Service Discussion / GENESIS-MINING Review: full disclosure, Cloud Mining (+get free Steem/BTC) on: March 11, 2017, 07:03:38 PM
Day 0 (buying the contract):

I finally decided to give it a try and bought 0.7 TH/s as an open-ended bitcoin cloud-mining contract today. I don't expect much, but I will be sharing all statistics and analytics on a regular basis:
https://steemit.com/mining/@xwerk/genesis-mining-review-full-disclosure-bitcoin-cloud-mining-day-0-steem-btc-giveaway

I will give back 50% of referral earnings and 50% of Steem earnings! Make sure to check out the steemit post for details.

Best regards,

Colleagues, I observe the mining of this coin 3 days. I am concerned a very strange phenomenon. The miner with the address t1actVSAhVnM2ididm5d3fPwDTZBAey3bbw periodically finds in a row a large number of blocks in a short time. This happens about once every 1.5 hours. Here is a screenshot of the Block explorer where the miner found 11 blocks in a row in 2 minutes. How is this possible?  Huh

http://cs1.imwox.com/o/4e/dd/4edd5677e5cd6bd28b12373f1a14a3f0.jpg
Wow, this is STRANGE to say the least.
This address finds the blocks exclusively for small difficulty of the network..... Has anyone experienced miners explain why...

Its scam, you can generate as many ZCL as you want with master keys.  Undecided
Ask developer to comment on this issue.
YES PLEASE!

Has there been any protest from the bird society?

Hahaha.

I got a question: Can anyone recommend a trusted good stake pool for DCR? I saw stakepool.dcrstats.com/ but they have a 5% fee which seems pretty high to me.
Also a tutorial on how to exactly set up the "purchase ticket" in Paymetheus Decred Wallet would be much appreciated.

That is a fee from your vote reward, which is as low as 0.05 * 1.58 DCR = 0.079 DCR

Here is Paymetheus guide:

https://docs.decred.org/getting-started/user-guides/using-paymetheus/#purchase-tickets-tab

Thanks a lot! Unfortunatelly whenever I click the "PURCHASE" button (after successfully choosing my pool via "manage pools" and signing with my API key) I always get the message "Unable to purchase tickets: need expiry that is beyond next height (given: 114393, next height 114420)"

3851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zclassic, Zcash Fork No Premine, No 20% Founders Tax on: March 10, 2017, 06:58:16 PM
So.. in this fork, 8.4% goes to the forkers?

" In the Zen network, 8.43% of the tokens are allocated for community development, marketing, maintenance, and the DAO. This ensures that there are always enough resources available for growth."

Also, ZCL was first created to eliminate the 10% founders tax, and now ZEN is doing the same thing with their %.  Bullshit.
Just quoting to make people notice this #bullshit more. Thanks for pointing out.

I am new to Komodo, can anyone give me an explanation how the interest model in Komodo works and how interest can be claimed? Thanks!

Interest = 5% APR

Info:
https://supernet.org/en/resources/articles/receive-free-coins-quaranteed-kmd-interest

Thanks. I am using the Iguana wallet, and honestly I don't like it too much. I have to use my passphrase every time to log in. Can you recommend a better light wallet?
But anyway, I just made a transaction to myself to see if the receive interest works. I'm not sure. Send 100 KMD to my address with a 0.005 fee. Strangely enough my account was only charged 0.001 fee. Also when funds arrived back I did not receive any interest- Should be 5%/year = 0.013%/day.
I am very confused and also hope anyone can recommend a nicer wallet than Iguana.

I created a thread to discuss about the puzzle on altcoin discussion subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1817563.msg18105249#msg18105249

Wow, did nobody solve this, yet?
Love the puzzle. My girlfriend and I gave it a try yesterday for about an hour. Came up with some very promising looking approaches that in the end we couldn't get to actually work.
Really interested to see the solution for this one.

Great community here, this along the great feature list of Decred finally convinced me to buy some. Price is very high right now, I hate to buy high. Although in opposition to Dash I see no reason why it should drop much anytime soon.
3857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Analyzing All 700 Altcoins on: March 07, 2017, 05:56:38 PM
Analyzed? In which way? The colour of their logo or what exactly do you mean? Also, how do you write a "quick overview" of a 700 item-list?
3858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a bagholder? Which altcoins do you hold? on: March 07, 2017, 05:51:56 PM
My bag contains 1 ZEC. I was incredibly lucky to pay 1500 BTC for it Roll Eyes

ZEC to da moon bitches..
Are you serious?

I hold some Peerplay tokens (PPY), XMR, GByte, Komodo for the most part. Also some ETH and Augur tokens. As much fun as buying altcoins might be, the intelligent thing to often do is just to hold BTC, imho.

For anyone uncertain about whether to invest in Edgeless or not, here's a TLDR version of the crowdsale Wink https://cointldr.com/edgeless-crowdsale-report-05-03-2017

I invested , its the best ico now .
I disagree, peerplays is much better imo. They offer better returns for the investors. See: https://steemit.com/investing/@xwerk/peerplay-blockchain-primary-crowdfund-has-started-today-great-chance-for-investors-and-gamblers-alike
Edgeless keeps too much for themselfes and distributing the rest via a lottery seems very strange to me. This probably means that most of the investors will never see their investment back. If you are into gambling with the odds stacked against you, well then this may be for you. But it is a losing game.
3860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2017 and WHY !!! on: March 07, 2017, 09:30:02 AM
Many coin are here with nice predictions and speculations, we have XMR, ETH, LSK, KMD ......

OP you should consider having maybe pool added with some coin that are here the most and maybe we could see good speculations or predictions on some alt in this year. Most of users here will be pleased to see this.

I agree with Azguard, this should be well coordinated, not that any jack will just come and drop name of the coins they are bagholding to dump on the market
Good choice, I'd add BTC (yeah, not an altcoin actually), Byteball, Augur, Litecoin and STRAT and maybe even ZCL and Peerplays (coming May).

Here are my guesses for 2017 in order of (stability)*(possible-value-increase):

01. BTCitcoin BTC
02. Monero XMR
03. Peerplay PPY
04. Ethereum ETH
05. Komodo KMD
06. Lisk LSK
07. Byteball GByte
08. Stratis STRAT
09. Litecoin LTC
10. Augur REP
11. ZCash Classic ZCL

Mark my words, guys. Or don't. :p
