3841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 08, 2022, 04:09:04 PM
Still at works, lots of things to iron out, they are domestic rivals including their promotions, Matchroom by Hearn (AJ) and Queensberry Promotions by Frank Warren (Fury).
No doubt, both promotions know there's a lot of money riding on this, and I imagine Hearne is going to be pushing for a 50/50 split rather than taking the smaller purse. I imagine it's going to take...in typical boxing fashion a few months to sort this out, while both fighters are ageing. There will probably be issues with securing a venue, all of the normal excuses you have when it comes to these two fighters.

True, but it seems that Fury wanted to push it before the end of the year and if that fight is not going to be made, maybe the hype won't be this big. Or maybe the will go on a fight a different fighter, Joshua some B level fighter, a boxer that he can beat. And then Fury vs Usyk or Andy Ruiz.

I also see them selling out, and going to Dubai to host it. They'll want the money, and the UK side of things can't compete with that, which will be a huge shame for British fans wanting to see these two fight in their home turfs.

It had to happen in UK, one of the biggest sporting event at the end of the year for them. The fans should clamor and insist to Hearn and Warren to have this fight in British soil.
3842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 03:44:22 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.

Yeah, Perhaps since he  had all the belts, he can troll all this 135-140 lbs hehehe. And among the best 4 135 lbs, everyone thinks he is the weakest, it was supposedly, Lopez, Davis, Garcia and him. And since Lopez has move up already, Davis has the Mickey Mouse belt, Garcia social media belt, and him should be the top dog in the division. And if he wins this one again, he can talk trash and troll them all day long. Unless either Tank or Ryan fight and beat him.
3843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 03:26:09 PM
Miami Heat together with the Philadelphia 76ers, are my favorite teams in the East. Miami Heat in spite of competing at the top the in East thru the years always had the cap space to sign even superstars like Giannis, KD, and Mitchell but they always came up short and I wonder why. Is it because they might have a problem with Butler who's known as the heart and soul of Miami or they just simply lost those bids against the other teams?

I consider Butler a superstar. If only they were 100% healthy last season, they may have a real chance of winning. I'm also hoping for Victor Oladipo and Duncan Robinson to step up their games. And maybe Miami can still acquire some new before the season starts.
Heartaches. That includes Tyler Herro being injured, one of their rising stars and a reinforcement for a veteran Kyle Lowry if he feels he needs a rest.
He cannot play above 35 minutes anymore if I am correct although he did play 63 games. Next year they should be focused with their young core to do most of the job.
We don't know if they are preparing something explosive that's why they don't do any movements yet, but I doubt they will let go of Bam. He will be the new face of Miami Heat.

The Heat are my dark horse to reach the finals last year  Smiley. And I thought that they have a legitimate chance specially that they are in the leaders board before the end of the regular season and just had some minor problems closing it but still one of the toughest team in the East. But yeah, Herro got injured, Lowry minutes are restricted and they seems can't find the correct chemistry. They don't need to let go of Bam, he is still one of the main piece together with Jimmy.
3844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the failure of El Salvador on: September 08, 2022, 09:47:49 AM
We should take it like this when the market is bullish and we've been on that for so long. These critics will tell that El Salvador did a genius idea and decision.
But when the market is bearish, we'll hear them say that El Salvador did a foolish thing of investing in bitcoin and now they're dropping in losses and only looking at that certain point. It's the same to us when somebody mocks us when our investments are falling due to the drop that we're having in the market. These people are only waiting for our failures but when we're on our peak of having profits, they're silent.

Yes, and I think the government of El Salvador has taken this into account already. So when we are in bearish state, they continue to accumulate as much as they can.

So let's see what their critiques will say when we goes into another bull run in 2024-2025. Perhaps they will hide again just like the rest of the anti-bitcoiners who went into hibernation when the market is rallying and come out of the rock when the bearish trend enters.
3845  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: September 08, 2022, 07:55:17 AM

3846  Other / Meta / Re: What's minor thing that you find appreciative on Bitcointalk? on: September 07, 2022, 11:26:59 PM
I will say right now, it's simplicity and access.

Last Saturday, my main machine broke up so I have to bring it to have it fix. So I have to pull out my old laptop as the back up. I set up up with LinuxMint. This is a 10 year old Samsung 10.1 inch netbook. It still has the Windows 7 and Atom Inside sticker, hehehe. It connected to my wifi but the power is just like 53% connected. And yet it was enough for me with this old machine and wifi to connect to this community and browse and post with just minimal laggings because the design is so lightweight.
3847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 07, 2022, 11:06:53 PM
It's probably going to end up with a negotiation and hopefully a better deal. I think this won't really reach a bitter end. Of course, the case has already been filed and the parties would definitely be defending each other in the court, but as always, the court would encourage the two parties to find a better way out, a way to sort this out that wouldn't really strain everything. After all, they are not just business partners. They are friends who have got a long way back.
The parties involved are close friends and former business partners. I am not sure Christopher Freeman who is claiming he conceived the idea of a crypto gaming company has any legal document to back up his claim that he was edged out. This is because he was a partner at Primedice but Stake was a new firm and he was not involved in the formation of the new company. He might get a favorable judgment in his claim that he was shut out of Primedice but his claim against stake might not see the light of the day. However, it would be generous if Tehrani and Craven drop a few million on their former friends who might be going through financial challenges instead of spending it on luxuries.

It's hard to prove that Freeman was indeed the person who pitched the idea of a casino. Everything was probably verbal. But since he also claimed that he was also one of those who designed it, he might have some proofs for it. Otherwise it would be very difficult for him to fight for a claim.

I'm also thinking the same, unless they have written contract it's very difficult to prove in the court. There could be narratives behind this lawsuit.

But again, I think this will end up in a friendly negotiation. Freeman might not get his $400m demand but at least he will still receive a good amount rather than nothing at all.

If he is wise (I'm assuming he is), he will have to settle it with his ex-friends and live with it. There is no way that the court will give him to his demand. So it's going to be bitter sweet divorce for them and they can go and continue their war outside with their competition in crypto platform.
3848  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bear Market thread on: September 07, 2022, 10:51:03 PM
Ok so I will keep the thread updated this bear market,

Nitong nakaraang araw eh nakita natin na bumagsak ang presyo sa $18k, so hopefully may nakabili sa inyo dahil halos dikit to sa lowest low natin na around $17,500.

Medyo nakabawi bawi naman tayo in the last 24 hours, nakaangat sa $19k pero hindi natin alam kung sasampa sa support na $20k na importanteng level natin o bababa parin.

Together with Perez, Tau, Manuel and the goat of PBA Fajardo, they reclaim the throne and win the title.
I'm happy for Perez and Tau and for the other members of SMB who has won their first ever title.
Perez is just like Romeo winning his first title with SMB, I'm in the impression that he might have the same fate in winning the finals MVP but it's Fajardo who really make the big difference between these two rivals, unlike with Romeo before the numbers stated that he really have enough numbers to win the finals MVP.
Speaking of Romeo, where he is right now? Still, injured? And is there news that he's going back for the next conference? I haven't seen some news about him lately.
The last one that I heard was when he got an offer to play for B League but he refused it and chose to stay with his team as he said, he's got indebted to the management.

Yes, he is still injured and recovering, it was not just a simple back spasm, but a slip disc. So he needed to take sometime out, and rehab that back so there is no timeline for his return because it is a serious injury that needed to be taken care of. And so we are still going to miss him, he said that he still nursing that injury and only 40-50%. So he need to sit it out before he can practice with SMB again.
3850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 07, 2022, 10:09:30 PM
On the surface what is clear is that Fury offered the fight to Joshua on a 60/40 split which is an excellent 40% for Joshua considering he lost back to back fights and his titles along the way and is currently not holding any championship belts. Joshua says he has accepted as long as Fury and his team talk to his team.

It's because that's what have been offered to him when they supposed to fight years ago. They have schedule a blockbuster fight between them, AJ 3 belts still and Fury has the WBC. But Fury has a contractual obligation to fight Wilder and then AJ lost back to back to Usyk. Now the tide has turn, AJ now is being offered 40. And as per report there will be a rematch clause.

Keeping that aside, no contract has been signed yet and until one is I remain dubious it will go ahead. Why would Fury put his belts on the line in return for fighting someone with no belts and thing to lose? Why has Joshua not made an assault on the media shouting off he will claim to beat Fury? Something does not add up.

Still at works, lots of things to iron out, they are domestic rivals including their promotions, Matchroom by Hearn (AJ) and Queensberry Promotions by Frank Warren (Fury).
3851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's biggest flops are now pumping ? But why?! on: September 07, 2022, 09:53:26 PM
Terra Luna Classic and Voyager are two projects nobody expects to attract a lot of investors anymore. Yet they're going parabolic ? Right at the bottom of one of the worst bear markets crypto's ever had ??
This is madness.

Everyone is pumping, Bitcoin, ETH and the rest of the altcoin market, this is a sign that we are on the road to recovery after a bleeding that started this weekend.

I haven't followed the news about this two coins, and so if there is none but the price is going up then you know what is the meaning of that, it's a pump and dump scheme.

But if there is news and hype about something new or development in this project, then it's the anticipation of the investors. Nevertheless the end result might be the same, there there be a incoming dump, just saying.
3852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 07, 2022, 02:03:57 PM
It's September and there is still no contract signed we've been told that its a done deal but the contract signing, you can never guarantee by words or talks alone there must contract deal and date for this fight to really happen, that's the missing link to this fight, as long as there is no contract both boxers can back out of the deal and if they target the November date they should do the contract ASAP if no contract by the end of September the fight could not push through this November, fighters are training because of the incoming fight based on the contract.

I'm thinking the same way too, if there's no final announcement by the end of this month then I guess it's already safe to assume that there would be no undisputed match that would take place this year especially if their looking forward to make it happen in November. I know we've been expecting this to happen and we are even delighted when we knew that there's an ongoing discussion but I think we are near the point where we get tired of assuming.

Still, I will try to be optimistic that we will receive a good news this month and there is still time for them to make some final preparations (if there's any).

Oh well, who knows, maybe we will be surprised to here a final announcement coming from both parties that the fight has been made. Let's just think positive that they will settled their dispute regardless if it is the money or the place where the fight is going to be made. And the driving factors for this boxers and promoters is money so this fight can easily be made.
3853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: September 07, 2022, 12:45:00 PM
My prediction for BTC reaching 45k before this end is yes, it will hit at least 40k if not 45k.
I do not believe Bitcoin can reach $45k by the end of 2022, I actually believe that Bitcoin will fall below $15k by the end of 2022, indeed there are various speculations popping up on the internet today regarding Bitcoin predictions in 2022 & 2023.

For me, my Bitcoin price is sticking to the experience after and before the Bitcoin halving, once every four years from 2017 & 2020, that's an example I see, but all of us have different beliefs and principles regarding current and future Bitcoin speculation, basically.

It's really hard to see the way the price is moving currently, the price goes down hard in it's support of $20k. Most likely we might hit another lower lows if we broken $18k this week because obviously, $17k is on the horizon and it's hard to see where it is going to settle or at least when the bleeding stops. I want to think that we can still hit $40k at the end of the year but chances are very slim at this point.
3854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: September 07, 2022, 12:08:31 PM
I don't know why the Chinese authorities are shutting down entire cities for just a handful of positive cases. Now a strict lowdown is being implemented in the city of Chengdu, which is home to 21 million people. And this is despite dozens of individuals dying from a recent earthquake. How is it even possible to impose a lockdown, when the residents are reeling from a natural catastrophe? And in Macau, casinos are losing business to other destinations such as Singapore, due to the lockdown measures. Bloomberg reported this yesterday:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-09-05/macau-casinos-lose-as-covid-pushes-business-gamblers-to-philippines-singapore

It's probably the mindset of the Chinese government, they are somewhat paranoid of the Covid-19 cases that they don't want to have their name or at least the country that they have control to be in the headlines again, so that's why they have to shut it down again.

I guess whales have other options like the Philippines wherein gambling industry is thriving as it is already open and I've seen a lot of foreigners playing again, mostly Chinese, Japanese and Koreans.
3855  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 07, 2022, 11:50:23 AM
Previously, many people could not buy BTC for the reason that it was expensive and the amount was small. Is this already on the verge of Dropping Deadline???

This is because human nature is to like round numbers.  People think since they can't afford 1 BTC, why even try...

And they will not buy and tell that they can't afford it without even trying it. And that's why that kind of mentality will not make everyone rich because they are almost negative about it.

However, this is why shitcoins are able to fleece investors so easily by putting out a trillion coins for a fraction of a penny.  If round numbers are important to you, stack satoshis.  I see the same thing in the stock market.  People judge how much something costs by the share price, which is absolutely idiotic as the price of a share is the least important piece of information about a company.  In fact, it's completely useless information if you don't know how many shares are out there.  Market Cap and investment size is all that matters for an entity's size, not how many units of account of said investment you have.

And so if we can compare it to stocks, bitcoin is blue chips while altcoins is for penny and then they think they can hold millions but the in terms of fiat, still nothing compare to bitcoin. I'm generalizing it, there are some altcoins that are really good, but the majority is to good to be true kinda assets.
3856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 07, 2022, 11:15:46 AM
He needs to win here, but if he losses, there's no other way but to move up in weight, though it will not hype him but IMO, that's the right thing to do for him to be comfortable in maintaining his weight. He will have to start his journey in a new division and hopefully we will continue to support him.

Let's say Jerwin Ancajas will lose here, does it really a good decision to just left that division and moved up?

How can he even get good fights at Super Bantamweight if he is struggling with some of the best fighters in Junior Bantamweight?

If he loses, moving up for me is not a good decision. Start from scratch and have a goal to become a champion again at Junior Bantamweight which is his comfort zone at most points of his career. He dominates that division for several years and I'm sure he can repeat it.

But of course, that was just speculation as I believed he will win here in this rematch against Martinez and then finally move up.

If the problem is weight then definitely he will have to move up because his body can't adapt to this lower weight anymore. And just like what Teo Lopez did, cherry pick a fighter, a boxer that has a good record, but he can easily beat in the fight because he has far more superior skills. It's up to his manager and promotions MP and Sean Gibbons to find him that target in the next weight and work his way up, put up a good string of wins and maybe he will have a crack at the belt again. Jerwin is young so the future is still bright for this kid.

I got the point but isn't it a bad decision to just moved up a weight after losing a match instead of moving up weight coming from a win?

It will be hard for Ancajas to pick a fight in the new division if he came from a loss as promoters might not be bothered to arrange fights involving him.

He is still a former champion, and he could get a favorable rankings from the organizations that he previously held the belt. He still a good name even if he moves to the next division.

So it's bad to stay in a weight division wherein you can't really make weight, another example is Casimero. he wanted to fight Inoue so he stayed in that division and in the first scheduled fight against Butler, he fell ill. And in the second one, he was caught with the Sauna thingy.
3857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 07, 2022, 10:53:50 AM
Better not to assume for him to come back this upcoming season, forcing him to play might harm his injury

and instead of bringing quality years to the league the chance for him to get a much more serious injury, or it might complicate
him moving comfortably while playing.

Enough rest and proper conditioning, he still young and with updated medical treatment with his injury for sure he can
recover and be back with a better preparation for the upcoming next season.
Yeah, he should have to need not to be quick thinking he's that able and besides NBA is a different league for his physique to be perfectly honest. I think this injury of his started when he was invited in the pro league with Lebron and Jayson Tatum, it was shown there how he barely runs after a hit from LBJ if I can remember that clip correctly.

I think Chet should focus on his injury and how to improve his body, he needs to be buffed until the time he's healed or once he's ready to play again. Now there's no Giddy - Holgrem tandem we may see in Oklahoma basketball but this is just for a while, I just love these kids to play in the court and I think they're special.

I think OKC already has a plan on Chet on how to buffed him up in preparation for this season.  But his freak accident is something that no one see, the kid just want to play basketball before the actual NBA season but it happens. So a big lesson for him, but again, no one is to blame. So we should wait for the Griddy - Holgrem tandem. As obviously it will be delayed until next season.
3858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: chance to win, so you keep holding on? on: September 07, 2022, 10:34:40 AM
I guess nothing has changed, bearish or bullish market, gambler will continue to play their favorite slot games, roulettes, sport betting and other forms of gambling entertainment.

So again, same deposits, maybe others have shifted to other crypto besides bitcoin, but still it won't stop them from playing. Of course in bear market, crypto is much cheaper so most likely gamblers will play that much often and who knows, they will keep their winnings and hold on it.

3860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Heavyweight Battle of Britain - FURY vs JOSHUA on: September 06, 2022, 11:56:31 AM
Right, Fury said that he has retired, and then he will come out of retirement for 500 million and will fight Usyk. But since Usyk wanted it at a later time, he now goes with his domestic rival who just lost. Just really hard to piece everything together. And if AJ take the bait, he is not mentally ready. Anyhow, if the money is right then I guess they can go and fight this December.
