3861  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 29, 2014, 09:26:59 PM
Look, if scientists and researchers had more than a rudimentary understanding of how things work, they would have been able to double and triple our lifespan long ago. So, how can they, from a scientific standpoint, have any kind of an inkling whatsoever, about things that happened billions of years ago, or even that something like billions of years exists at all? They can't and don't. There are too many variables that they don't know about, to even have an idea as to the age of the earth.

How do we know that there are too many variables? We know it because they are looking at the variables right here among us in LIFE. And even though they can examine those variables of life that are right here among us, they still can't figure out how to make people live twice as long - say, to 200 years - to say nothing about being able to DO it. So, why do they think that they can even guess what might have happened way of over 5,000 years ago, in areas that they absolutely can't examine, because those areas are so remote to them, removed from them in time and space?

When they can extend your life to, say, 500 years old, then you can start to believe that maybe they have enough smarts that they can tell how old the earth is, beyond examining the pottery which shows that the oldest reliable records only go back 5,000 years, maybe.

Think and wake up.

Wordpress.org or wordpress.com?

If wordpress.com I believe you need to become a paying member to be able to do that.

Glad to see this fund isn't going the same path PETA did, although I managed not to lose any money with PETA I cannot do the same with this fund if things went the same way.

I've said this several times on this topic and sent as a comment on surveys, why aren't we using multipools?!

We are paid bitcoin, I don't care what coin we are mining!

I've read somewhere about scrypt merged mining, is this a thing?

And of course, it would be nice having CryptX around...
3864  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the most lightweight Operating System that exists? on: August 29, 2014, 08:37:20 PM
Lubuntu then Linux Lite.
What use on an old machine (512 RAM) is Linux Mint, which is very light and functional. The Lubuntu does not work, I will test those indicated here.
Thanks for suggestions.

512MB RAM is enough for the OS but very little for modern web browsing.

The best configuration for a modern operating system and quite usable is Debian Unstable + Openbox + preload, then disable unnecessary services, enable zram, and it should perform quite well.

What is the OS that runs on any machine, even older, that spend the least possible energy and have support at least one web browser?
If not exist, is need.

For the record here. Smiley
I guess it is Damn small linux which is the most lightweight and smallest os in the world,

You can find it here

DSL is dead, it's not usable, I have tried.

The 10% brain use is a myth:

Don't take anything you see on movies or what people say as granted

Yap, when I watched the trailer the 10% thing turned me off immediately, but I'm pretty sure the movie is quite awesome, they could just start with a more believable premise though.
3867  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the most lightweight Operating System that exists? on: August 29, 2014, 01:01:05 AM
Debian with openbox and a few adjustments is pretty fast even on older machines.

3874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please tell me this isn't how transactions always work.... on: August 27, 2014, 05:39:05 PM
Isn't there an option to allow unconfirmed transactions to be sent?
Not as an input to another transaction.  I'm pretty sure even qt nodes would reject such transactions.

Or you could make those two payments in one transaction and problem solved...
This works if you can pay them all at the same time.  But there are certainly instances where you might need to make multiple payments in quick succession without combining them.  Paying a bar tab and then a taxi is a good example.  Or even visiting a bunch of vendors at a street fair and buying things from each.

Yes, it's a problem, but I don't see mobile payments being used that way, cash is still the most effective payment method for everyday small payments.

Or you could make those two payments in one transaction and problem solved...

Well it solves it in that situation, but I can think of plenty more it won't.

The only real answer is unconfirmed transactions or a centralised solution.

Well, off-chain transactions is an option...

What Are Balance Rebates?

Balance rebates are basically a cut of our collected transaction fees for users who hold balances in certain currencies on our exchange. Currently the currencies we collect fees on are BTC, LTC, and USD. Users who have a balance in these currencies will be included in the pool of users who get a daily rebate in the same currency.

How Much Will I Earn in Balance Rebates?

We pay a 2% rebate. Balance calculations include available and held for order balances.  So even if all your funds are held for open orders, they are included in the calculation.

So for example: We collect 10 BTC in trade fees in a day. This leaves 0.2 BTC available for rebates (2%). If you had 100 BTC on account and between all users the sum of all balances was 10,000 BTC, then you would receive 1% of the total rebate for that day. In this case that would be a 0.002 BTC daily rebate. Balances and rebates are calculated and distributed separately for each of the BTC, LTC, and USD currencies.

When Do I Get Paid My Cryptsy Points and Balance Rebates?

The program which calculates payouts and makes disbursements runs after midnight EST every day. Usually around 2am EST.

http://blog.cryptsy.com/post/94775274327/updates-to-cryptsy-points-program-and-new-balance

Oh, now I know why I'm getting transfers from user "Cryptsy"...

Would you mind sharing how much you receive a day (as a % of your balance)?  Smiley

I had LTC balance for a few days waiting for orders to be filled, I usually don't let LTC or BTC on exchanges.

Here are my numbers for litecoin balance rebate:

   2014-08-18  0,000081854%

   2014-08-19  0,000111088%

   2014-08-20  0,000058467%
