3861  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will the US ban self-hosted wallets? on: December 13, 2020, 07:42:49 PM
Nope, they are not going to ban the self hosted wallets. Government is trying to break the privacy from those wallets by seeking information like source of income and KYC details when withdrawal and deposit to regulated exchange cum wallets so it will be more easier for the government to track the persons.

Well it is still nit confirmed official news but most likely will be implemented in the near future.
3862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees (in sats/kb). Sunday, Saturday are best to move BTC on: December 13, 2020, 06:51:52 PM
It's weekend and today is Sunday that usually gives you opportunities to move your bitcoin at lower fee rate.
For anyone who wants to know the real time recommended fee can use this site : https://mempool.space/

which gets updated in real time and also I am personally using this in the recent times to find exact recommended fee which is mostly inaccurate on lot of reputed fee calculating websites.
3863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos and Sportsbooks missing from Bitcointalk? on: December 13, 2020, 06:13:02 PM
Its good find though but I am not going to trust any of those because it is not possible to find honest reviews about those sportbooks which are only represented by blogs and promotional rating sites because it can be bought, only reviews from the public forums gives clear insights about those sportbooks.

By the way is there any sportbook with huge reputation but missed out bitcointalk? just asking out of curiosity.
3864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For beginners which trading option is best and which platform and why? on: December 13, 2020, 05:09:37 PM
Snip....
^ But in reality, people keep taking a risk on the centralized exchange because they know that this could have a massive earning in a short period of time. We know that centralized exchanges are very high volume and liquidity compared to the decentralized ones that it will probably take time before your order will be executed. Nevertheless, I suggest to those beginners to make a study and research first before they will go into trading because each trading platform has its own features and also have pros and cons for the users.

For complete beginners I won't recommend decentralized exchanges because the steps involved may look confused for them and also on chain transaction make them to feel like there are so much restrictions for cryptocurrency. So its always good to start their career with reputed centralized exchange with less capital.
I think KYC is requirements for most of the decentralized exchanges also because current traffic is good to survive in crypto platform so number of investors are actively investing the Bitcoin and altcoin, This is the right time to traveling in crypto platform, Peoples are expecting some silent benefits so Decentralized platform so I hope both are same and we maintain both are good to travel in all the hunters.
Nope, both are not actually same because there are lot more features available on centralized exchanges compared to decentralized exchanges. Decentralized exchanges are going to be hard for the beginners to understand the trading process so they may end up losing their funds that is why it is better to start with centralized exchanges and also reputed exchanges offers decent amount of withdrawal limit even without no KYC limit.
3865  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3rd times the charm 20K on: December 13, 2020, 04:49:18 PM
snip~~~
Yeah, I'm really surprised that bitcoin come back to life again. I guess we really hit the bottom when the prices goes to $17,600 a couple of days ago and there are no more selling pressures at this time. Instead what I'm seeing on exchanges are all buying pressures, indicative that we may hit $20k sooner again or even more, so the bullish trend continues.
Mempool is actually empty even when the prices are about to hit 20K and already on some local exchanges and p2p it reached 20K so it is also a clear sign that people are not in a hurry to sell their coins when the prices reaches 20K, this time people expecting more higher price tag per bitcoin. Cheesy
3866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your merit will find you! on: December 13, 2020, 01:39:28 PM
Beginners and Help section was one of the merit hunting section and many newbies realized it so people starte to make guides and tutorials because simply they are looking for merits but atleast the merit system is doing its job which prevents complete spams and people are trying to produce something in order to get the incentives from signature campaign.
3867  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic will bring more economic progress in long-term... on: December 13, 2020, 08:26:22 AM
We have seen a lot of companies changing procedures and implementing more radical ways of doing their work.
Businesses have adopted new processes and technologies—and there are signs that they may pay off in the future. The pandemic and COVID-19 era could give a rapid productivity growth after the vaccination of the global population is going to end or reach a significant percentage.

Remote working and new systems that help companies being better organized are what businesses struggled a lot to adopt in the beginning of the pandemic. Now this kind of investment is going to pay off.

My company made a huge investment in adopting systems such as remote meeting places, cloud systems that help organizing documents and a way of eliminating paperwork... I believe that this is going to increase the productivity of the employees especially if those go back to work.

Have you seen any changes in your working environment like these?
Pandemic killed lot of small business already and the existing ones also will suffer a lot due to change in tax policies from most of the governments. This maybe given progress for the companies which is producing medicines, medical equipments and PPE kits but apart from that I don't find any company is making profits or progressing due to pandemic.
3868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lowest crypto transaction fees on: December 13, 2020, 07:22:13 AM
So would Kraken, Binance, Coinbase Pro be considered secure and reputable sites to buy crypto?
...
The three exchanges you mentioned are, indeed, one of the most reputable and secure platforms. Security is a relative concept, though.
Centralized exchanges, usually, charge flat withdrawal fees and it's a bit higher than what most fee estimators would suggest.
My advice is to use a reputable exchange and pay higher fees than risking all your money with a new one just to save few bucks.
Using local cryptocurrency exchange for fiat to Crypto conversion is smart option because their fee is extremely small compared to these most reputed centralized exchange when it comes to fiat to Crypto and vice versa or better use p2p which may be available with KYC policy on LBC like sites and no KYC sites like Localcryptos.
3869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What kind of trader are you - Day Trader or Swing Trader? on: December 13, 2020, 05:57:19 AM
I am not a day trader but I used to trade too often on Binance as well as on Localbitcoin. This kind of trading method works fine and I don't really follow much of strategy, just go for the trade if I see profits and cashout the profits or the complete funds if I feel the prices will be dumped in near future.
3870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many old coins are dead and abandoned by the developer, WHY? on: December 12, 2020, 10:32:19 PM
Either they nade enough profits by creating the project or didn't made anything. Most projects were created with no reak purposes which are the one will reaches the value to zero because their developers didn't tried anything to get their project stand out from ocean of similar kind of projects. But at the end its dead so there is no point of actually discussing about them that is why they are called as shitcoins.
3871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Questions about buying, holding, staking altcoins on: December 12, 2020, 09:39:08 PM
Hello guys.

I am newbie to the crypto world, and I read a lot of things about it, still I have unanswered questions, hope some of you can solve it for me.

Firstly, I am planning to buy two cryptos (Cardano, and VeChain), but later I plan to buy another ones, like crypto.com coin, RSR, or Zilliqua.

My questions are, that if I will buy it at Binance, should I open account for every crypto, or just one for all? And how about staking these planned cryptos, where should I stake them?

Second thing, that I read something that every crypto has different blockchains, and when I wanna send one of my cryptos to my wallet, somehow it can be loss, because Ethereum can not be send to Bitcoin wallet? In this I totally confused, where I can send, where I can not, how can I lose my coins.

Thanks, best all.
You need to create only one account on each exchange but never deposit all your cryptocurrency under single address. There will be respective address will be available for each cryptos so make sure your are sending funds to the right address.

And the same thing with wallet as well, there are multiple cryptocurrencies support wallet available but each has different address for respective cryptocurrency.
3872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Network fee for Metamask Swap on: December 12, 2020, 09:18:03 PM
Hello, I just started to use Metamask, and I did a small swap to see how does it work. I swapped 0.1 ETH to POLS. When I check the transaction I see the following:

Amount: 0.1 ETH
Network fee: 0.06622 ETH
Total amount: 0.16622 ETH
$98.2676

After the transaction I can’t see this high amount of fee on my balance, but if it doesn’t affect my balance then why I see these numbers?

Thank you!
Did you checked the decimals and numbers accurately? I never found such an insane amount of fee for a swap.

Well, you are confusing with the calculations here, total amount is 0.1eth and network fee is 0.066eth so you need to subtract network fee from the total funds to get the actual value which is supposed to be 0.0.0035eth.

Is this value shows up?
3873  Economy / Economics / Re: Why bank need cheap loan as low as 0% to make profit?? on: December 12, 2020, 07:42:50 PM
Please explain in laymen term

Bank hand out the loan at 6-10% interest rate to Small Medium business
Central bank provide low rate (0%) loan to small bank to MAKE profit

The bank can’t survive with 0% interest rate?
How can small business survive with 6-10% interest rate?
How can people survive with 6-10% personal loan interest rate?
Why bank is above small business and human on interested rate privilege?
This is a major scam!
That is how banks are making money, even there are lot f hidden fees will be collected when we are taking loans like processing fee, etc but that is the banking business which is not really known by most of the people. When you have good business which needs capital then it is okay to take such loans because you are going to make profits like 20% which can justify the interest rates but new start ups will such loans are always risky.
3874  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I won bitcoin on an anonymous online casino and I am totally lost about taxes. on: December 12, 2020, 06:58:02 PM
Many online casinos which accepts cryptos are not allowing people from USA to play there, so first of all you need to withdraw the funds into a freshly created wallet before your account getting blocked for violating their terms.

Then you have no other choice than going with P2P, or find someone locally is the best option. If you are not in a hurry then just cashout funds partially from time to time so you won't get caught for big capital gains tax violation.
3875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lowest crypto transaction fees on: December 12, 2020, 04:53:42 PM
If you are trying to check most of the exchange or wallet today has three options

Low
Medium
High

These are the common text names if you are trying to use the low it takes time before you will receive your funds, if you are using the medium you will get your funds in a few minutes but if you are using the high you will get your funds instantly.

If you are trying to use bitcoin for transactions right now AFAIK the electrum has the best for adjustable transaction fees which are I do prefer but on other coins I don't have any idea.
As far as I know, only few web wallets and gambling sites have such three categories while selecting transaction fee but mostly exchanges have fixed withdrawal fee which used to be a lot higher than actual fee needed for the transaction which gets included into the next block.
3876  Other / Meta / Re: Why do people write "reserve" right after their post? on: December 12, 2020, 12:15:01 PM
I've noticed that when someone announces something important like a signature campaign or a topic like this, they reply with "reserve" right after they submit their post. Why? What's the purpose?
AFAIK, there are character limits per post in bitcointalk so in case if someone is going to update their Post in future which may exceeds the maximum characters allowed to write in their post that is why they are reserving another post or even more for future updates.
3877  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's next for Bitcoin? on: December 12, 2020, 11:16:31 AM
Bullish trend always raises these type of queries among investors but no one really knows when the prices is going to be moon and even we actually don't know the value for moon so just let the prices to be in its flow and enjoy your profits in meanwhile.
3878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Different opinions about bitcoin on: December 12, 2020, 08:15:29 AM
Bitcoin is not same for everyone even for the who has deep knowledge about cryptos and bitcoin's technology since people consider it as payment mode, investment scheme, remittance service and much more. So surely there are lot of room for the bitcoin to get recognized and use it for the real intention why it was created by Satoshi.
3879  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC hovering at 19K, but there are 4 reasons for a further pullback on: December 11, 2020, 10:19:01 PM
Stock market is declining which doesn't really mean bitcoin prices also will goes back to bearish trend because we are yet to break new all time high so still a long way to go with this bullish trend with much more correction phases.
3880  Other / Meta / Re: How to hide boring topics? on: December 11, 2020, 09:38:01 PM
Can someone propose any other way to hide this topics in same way like we can hide boards, or maybe some better solution.
Boring literally means reluctant topics right? I don't know is there any way to hide particular thread on section but if you find it is not really useful then you can report it and most of the time it will be trashed if it is really not useful for the community.
