3861  Economy / Services / ❙❙ Service ❙ Offering development of ❘ Bots ❘ Scripts ❘ Small projects ❙❙ on: August 21, 2018, 12:02:42 PM
Hello, since i do have some spare time at the moment i'd like to offer my service as a developer.

I can create any kind of bot (e.g. Reddit-, Twitter-, Telegram-, ... ) or any other software regarding data collection + processing, automation, web communication, etc..
Unfortunately my spare time is limited and i am therefore not able to accept larger projects at the moment.

If you want to have something developed, feel free to PM me with a short description of your project and we can discuss the conditions.
3862  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin loan on: August 21, 2018, 11:31:11 AM
The proper way would be to first move (bottom left of this thread -> 'move topic') this thread into the Lending sub (Economy -> Marketplace -> Lending).

Then read the guidlines and edit your post accordingly. Provide an appropriate collateral and wait for offers.
3863  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 0.2290982 btc on: August 21, 2018, 08:55:09 AM
Bank transfer is 1% with minimum fee £50 and minimum transfer £1,000

You were right. That definitely should not be an option.
I somehow missed the 'not less than £ 50'-clause.

There are definitely exchanges with a lower fee (e.g. kraken with just a few cents in €) but for occasional purchases this is quite ok.

Not sure but.... https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000411106

Note that SWIFT (SMBC) withdrawals were disabled at 12:00 PM (JST) on March 27, 2018.

This does only apply to people using their bank in japan to fund their account (https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000427883).
But not from outside of japan.

But nonetheless, kraken does not offer GBP withdrawals unfortunately. EUR wire withdrawals are available for a fee of 0.09 €.

3864  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Chain analysis on: August 21, 2018, 08:22:51 AM
What exactly do you want to achieve?

Do you want to build a tool which allows you to analyze specific patterns between addresses/individuals ?
This would for example represent transactions/addresses and their relations in a human-readable way.

Or do you want to create a program which automatically collects and processes data (e.g. which is looking for specific events etc. happening) ?

These two differ quite heavily and so does the approach.
3865  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: QT wallet / How to create an extra tab? on: August 21, 2018, 08:12:43 AM
Try to compile it yourself using gcc and post the output here using code-tags (place it it between
and
omitting the spaces).
You most probably broke something trying to just copy/paste the code.

We need to see the whole output being generated when you're trying to compile the code.
3866  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 0.2290982 btc on: August 20, 2018, 12:49:56 PM
All the exchanges that do have GBP go via a European bank and you get hit for international wire fees and withdrawal fees that make it not worthwhile for £114.

On cex.io the withdrawal fees for GBP are at 1% (https://cex.io/fee-schedule#/tab/payments) which is fine, i'd say. Thats 1,14 £.
There are definitely exchanges with a lower fee (e.g. kraken with just a few cents in €) but for occasional purchases this is quite ok.

IMO using an exchange is safer (and sometimes also cheaper) than using localbitcoins.
3867  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Implementing a bitcoin payment system on: August 20, 2018, 10:34:29 AM
Note that this requires the miner to be honest and NOT to cooperate with the malicious customer.
Like every million-dollar mining pools will conspire to steal a cup of coffee  Roll Eyes

The reason i have added this is to make clear that its possible to accept 0-conf payments for low-value goods (coffee).
But for higher amounts where once COULD cooperate with mining pools it is not safe to accept them. And OP has to choose the limit until it is worth the risk for him to accept 0-conf payments.

Therefore instead of suggesting to accept 0 conf payments until X$, i gave OP enough information to conclude the maximum amount to accept with the desired risk for himself.
3868  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 0.2290982 btc on: August 20, 2018, 09:25:53 AM
I was using hit btc and they don’t allow withdrawal to a bank account - I had to send back to Coinbase and then transfer to my bank account however Coinbase require a fee to setup the bank account..that’s the only reason lol
Try kraken.com ? I've used them for euro SEPA transactions, and only paid 0.09 EUR fee per transaction. I can't check if they offer GBP withdrawals though, as my internet provider seems to have routing problems at the moment.

According to https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000382363-Fiat-currencies-available-on-Kraken, Kraken only offers 4 fiats currencies to withdraw to (EUR, USD, JPY and CAD).

But what about cex.io ? They offer GBP withdrawals and are probably more reliable than a random person without a trust rating here.
3869  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Implementing a bitcoin payment system on: August 20, 2018, 09:02:09 AM
You can't make sure that a transaction will for sure confirm. But you can achieve a pretty high probability.

For example, if you have multiple nodes geographically spread and let the customer choose a fee which is high enough you can calculate the probability of a double spending to occur after a given time.
Especially with multiple nodes, since you are able to detect a network split within seconds. The fee will guarantee that the confirmation will follow within the next blocks.

Such a concept is good enough to sell coffee for BTC.
You let them pay and after their coffee is finished you will have a high probability of the transactions going through.

Note that this requires the miner to be honest and NOT to cooperate with the malicious customer.

For stuff being worth a few $ this totally is fine. But i wouldn't use that for larger sums AND also not for online purchases (anonymity makes a difference here).
3870  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Jaxx, continuous transaction failed on: August 20, 2018, 08:51:15 AM
hello  guys, just wondering has anyone solved this issues? I am having the same issues with zec too.

Which issue ?
The jaxx bug? Or the fact that OP wasn't able to use coinomi to import the private keys and broadcast the tx ?

I have tried many ways but still cant withdraw or shapeshift my zec. please help

Did you succeed in exporting the private keys ?
Which wallet did you use to import them? Coinomi ?

If you want proper help, the best would be to create a new thread containing all relevant information (e.g. wallets you have used, methods you have tried, OS, etc..).
3871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: withdraw/request conversion error BTC - mBTC on: August 20, 2018, 08:47:11 AM
What are you refering to with 'wallet' ? Your desktop wallet (electrum ?) or the exchanges 'wallet' ?

The 'requested amount' in electrum is just an additional feature.
The amount of bitcoin for you available to spend only depends on the amount you have been sent (withdrawn from the exchange - fee).

Check the balance of your address on a block explorer (e.g. https://live.blockcypher.com/) or via the 'addresses' tab in your wallet.
You can safely ignore all 'requests' made inside electrum.
3872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: pywallet install help on: August 20, 2018, 07:19:19 AM
I have a broken lux wallet, unfortunately nothing comes to me when I enter:
pywallet.py --recover --recov_device=D: --recov_size=4Gio --recov_outputdir=C:\PyWallet
or that:
pywallet.py --dumpwallet --wallet=D:\wallet.dat --passphrase="KEY"

You are supposed to run pywallet on a drive, not on a wallet.dat file directly.
You can either specify the harddrive (in your case D) or move it onto a pen drive and use that.

But make sure to have a few backups of your wallet.dat before you try to recover it.
3873  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Withdrawable amount !!! on: August 19, 2018, 11:48:01 AM
Unfortunately the support is the only one able to help you in this situation.
You may want to contact them: https://coinpot.co/contact.htm

But what about this:
For fraud prevention reasons all offer/surveys earnings are put on hold for up to 10 days

Are those 10 days already over?
Or when did you receive your earning ? If not, you probably have to wait for these 10 days to be over.
3874  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is blockchain really needed for security? on: August 19, 2018, 11:38:32 AM
I mean, you could make a distributed secure database that doesn't need blockchain right?

You could make a distributed secure database.
But you wouldn't be able to create a distributed secure trustless database with no one in control of and no single point of failure.

The blockchain itself does not secure anything.
It is the combination of multiple technologies which makes the use of a blockchain very beneficial. Especially for a lot of people extensively distributed.
A single company with a few central buildings wouldn't benefit from a blockchain in that way.
3875  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Loss of bitcoins from h/w wallet - need help understanding on: August 19, 2018, 11:31:35 AM
Also, it is possible to derive all of the private keys if both the extended public key and a single private key are known.

This does only apply to unhardened derivation. BIP44/49 does use hardened derivation.

Unhardened derivation: privKey(n) = k + h(xpub,n)
Hardened derivation: privKey(n) = k + h(xpriv,n)

With h being a hashfunction. This means that with unhardened derivation one private key together with the xpub is enough to calculate all private keys.
But with hardened derivation you would need the xpriv additionally to the private key. And with knowing the xpriv, you could generate all priv keys anyway.
3876  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Lost coins in Trezor! on: August 19, 2018, 11:19:14 AM
Has this been resolved yet?

There are a few possibilities what happened. But either OP did a few mistakes he didn't remember afterwards or he simply just trolled.

, know a guy in a similar position, and if is how did you resolve it?

If you (or someone you know) have a similar problem, create a new thread and include ALL relevant information (e.g. what exactly happened, what you did prior to it happening, OS, firmware version, etc.. ).
Chances are high that (if he still has the correct mnemonic word seed) funds can be recovered.
3877  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S and Ledger Live questions on: August 19, 2018, 11:11:58 AM
However I want to manage everything with one software, that is why I asked when support of ERC20 in Ledger Live is planned.

I would like to know this too.

Ledger has stated that adding ERC20 support to ledger live is one of their top priorities currently.
Besides fixing bugs and adding fast and necessary features, this should be pretty far up on their to-do list.

I wouldn't be surprised if we could expect the release of ERC20 supports within a few months.

I really liked Ledger Live's monitor feature, but it doesn't watch any 3rd party wallets, only the natively supported coins. I was very hopeful of finally being able to do away with Delta and having to manually enter all my coins/trades, but I guess we are not quite there yet.

Ledger has started with ledger live supporting all currencies which have been accessible through their google chrome apps.
Since google is stopping chrome application support, they had to release a software which manages all of these coins first.

They are going to add further coins later on.
Whether they will be releasing the function to import a 'watch' wallet for all coins, or fully functional wallet elements for each currency unfortunately hasn't been stated yet.
3878  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum encryption AES256-CBC on: August 19, 2018, 11:06:21 AM
Why use CBC mode for encrypt wallet ?

Why should one not use CBC to encrypt the private keys ?
Block cipher should be favored in a use case of a wallet. And since CBC doesn't have any important downside, why not.

The random access was not necessary right ?

With 'random access' you probably mean the possibility to parallel the encryption/decryption?
No, this is not necessary since you are never en-/decrypting a lot of data.

So why not use PCBC mode ?

Why should PCBC be used ?

There is a  problem with PCBC.
Swapping 2 ciphertext blocks will result in the incorrect decryption of the 2 corresponding plaintext blocks.
But due to the nature of plaintext XOR ciphertext the error cancels in PCBC mode.
So if the integrity checker only looks at the last few blocks it could be fooled to accept a partially corrupted message.

That's one of the reasons why Kerberos switched from PCBC to CBC in version 5.

3879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help me Install Bitcoind for a fee on: August 19, 2018, 10:41:52 AM
Not if the one who's doing the job is a trusted member, that's why we have the trust system.

Even if its a trusted member, i don't think OP should give full access to his server.
Installing core and setting up the daemon can be accomplished without giving direct access to anyone. The risks would be too high.

Verify, don't trust.

It could be a pain for a newbie to set it up if its really urgent.

I can't think of a single case where it would be urgent for a newbie to install bitcoind on a hosted server without having the time to read and follow a guide for 15-20 minutes.
