3861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allegedly Coinbase prevented 1,000 customers From Sending Funds to the Hackers on: July 20, 2020, 11:17:40 PM
Crypto exchange Coinbase has said that it prevented little over 1,100 customers from sending bitcoin to Twitter hackers who hijacked high-profile accounts to advertise a bitcoin scam last week.

If Coinbase didn't take the step, these customers would have collectively sent 30.4 bitcoin (currently worth about $278,000) to hackers, the exchange's chief information security officer, Philip Martin, told Forbes. Notably, this amount is more than twice the actual amount ($121,000) that hackers collected via victims.

https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/72200/coinbase-says-it-prevented-over-1000-customers-from-sending-280000-worth-of-bitcoin-to-twitter-hackers

---

Excellent operational work. If all exchanges had taken such measures in time, the hackers would probably have received significantly less.
What do you think?

This is good action by them and by taking care of this issue for sure many will see them reliable. Those hacking issue is seriously needed to take care of and if the exchangers will do the same for sure there's no place for hacker to do this attempt since their money stolen will be hold for this bad activities.

Constant reminder to all never trust anyone especially offers you a good profit for less efforts.
3862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India may again ban cryptocurrency on: July 20, 2020, 11:56:55 AM
I think it will not happen again that India will ban crytocurrency because a large number of indian are already engaged in cryptocurrency. Especially that we are facing this worst situation caused of covid 19 virus,i think it will be the weapon of india to rise their economic situation.

For having recent attacks and other things involvement with bitcoins it will be a basis for the government to ban it again, but if the citizens will step up and raised their words about it then banning bitcoins will not gonna happen also maybe they will take a consideration for now since the pandemic still occurs and somehow provably when bitcoins is accepted on their nation they see some good things brought on it so let's see if they continue this plan.

Well, if anyone do not gamble or do not try his luck, then he/she will never won. You need to take risk to be able to won big amounts. You know that there are very less chances of win in gambling, if this thought stopped you from gamble, you would have never won a big amount, right ? So that's why i encourage people to take risk in gambling and change their fortune.

I wouldn't do that. Buying a lottery ticket because "no tickets - no chance to win" is one thing, but buying a lot of tickets to "increase your chances" is entirely another. The same goes for any other betting. The amount you can potentially win doesn't matter. What matters is the amount you can easily afford to lose. You should never put at stake more than that.

Many people think about it that's why they get easily get broke when they didn't win on the their placed money on betting, People need to think about that this lottery thing is for fun only so that they will not think about revenge and bet more to win on that since even if we buy more tickets for sure we will end up losing since everyone has a chance and we also add the factor that many people bet on it around the world so our chance is so thin.
3864  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to advertise cryptocurrency exchange platform? on: July 20, 2020, 09:01:39 AM
Having a hint through the username of OP, you'll get this website.

https://revalcoin.com/en

And their address in Estonia is indicated on their company info and contacts.

https://revalcoin.com/en/page/contacts

OK this site revalcoin.com look like a decent site and there is a lot of scope for you if you start to advertise it on this forum. They should first make an ANN here and then try to engage with the people. Secondly if they can afford a signature campaign, that will give them a boost in their service.

This is a good start for a site who want to run a marketing campaign here since for sure he will get more traffic since most all of the bitcoin users visit here most all of the time to get an information regarding on the latest updates. But I also suggest that he will rent a ad space on famous sites like CMC or in myetherwallet so that he can maximize the engagement and gather users to his platform.
3865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: People are complaining about airdrop/bounty earnings, something more profitable? on: July 19, 2020, 02:18:51 PM
Bounties and airdrops gave us chance to earn money without any investments but those time period has ended already so we need money to make more money to be honest, the current trends in crypto market is staking, there are lot of platforms available to stake your multiple cryptos and you can start trading to make more money if you have real skills.

Nobody forbids people to do multiple things in crypto, to stake, and participate in bounties, airdrops or any other activity. This is a free world, so each of us should feel free to try everything available for us. The problem here starts when people believe in big promises, how can they get rich with doing small tasks. It sometimes happens that some bounty pays more, that airdrop can be very generous, but it happens sometimes, you cant expect it to happen every time!
Will something be profitable for you or not will depend on your goals and your research. Good research can save you from participating in scam airdrops/bounties.
What can we analyze if each and every aridrop is going scam or useless, still people trying on those are simply wasting their time and also they are giving opportunities for the scammers to make money since they are promoting it so there is someone who actually loss their money due to our ignorance that is why we should wasting our time anymore on doing this shit.

Some people doesn't have a choice to risk their time for those un sure things especially by joining on the category mentioned since maybe there are time came that they will hit the jackpot and earn something big like what happen on the bounties last year 2017, But seriously those people need to stop since by now ICO is dead and scammers are the only one left running and trying to scam their investors.
3866  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we headed for 250k btc in 12-18 months? on: July 19, 2020, 12:52:17 PM

None can assure about the price of bitcoin. Everything is based on the past time growth as well as the good news happening around the globe relative to the cryptocurrency market. Over the next 12-18 months there will be higher and higher level of demand for cryptocurrencies and particularly bitcoin. Upon the same there'll be growth. At the same time reach $250k or above value isn't easy in the mentioned 12-18months time.

Even if there is continuous demand now that we are in pandemic and we need a digital currency  I don't think it will reach the $250 k level, I do like the progress of the price since we have a big dump when the pandemic started, we are moving slowly and the price is very stable right now, we have to wait patiently for things to get better better we think of numbers.

I think it is not that bad to predict though.

The pandemic did not actually brought a huge imoact in the price of Bitcoin. The dump might be coincidental with the pandemic and the scammers dumping Bitcoin. I think we are doing well for a certain period in this pandemic since the price is moving well and more investors and traders are going in with it.

Do you really think it is? because as I notice the price is not much appealing compare to the past halving and even if it occur we are struggling to climb at $10,000 so imagine if no halving + pandemic provably we will suffer from a huge dump since many people will afraid with the crisis. We see the price slowly moving and maybe we will still experience this until the crisis occur.

Best if we just stick with the current situation since predicting to much might cause us harm if we keep waiting for huge pump.
3867  Economy / Gambling / Re: PokerShares.com ♠️ ♥️ ♣️ ♦️ | The First Poker Bookmaker| Politics | Dice on: July 19, 2020, 11:36:11 AM
Our gaming license requires us to request KYC (ID document and proof of address) from our users prior to withdrawing. We are operational for 3.5 years and we have never claimed 'suspicious activity' or something similar to complicate or deny withdrawals. Our reputation as a trustworthy gaming operator is worth everything to us. Please note that we are one of the few crypto accepting gaming sites with a high profile public face of the company. It's one of the reasons many highstakes gamblers from the poker community choose for PokerShares.

Is this KYC mandatory for all the withdrawals or you can ask for KYC for certain withdrawals in which you smell something wrong ?
If all the withdrawals are subjected to KYC then it will be better to get the KYC for all the users before the deposits , at the time of account creation so that people know about it.

Don't like this if mandatory KYC is really implemented here, maybe they should do that on fiat deposits and or big amount of withdrawals but for small amount I discourage the users to provide their personal information since it's so dangerous to get compromised for unwanted events.

Maybe this KYC thing needed to be answer clearly since I'm sure many people avoids KYC for security matters.
3868  Other / Off-topic / Re: Twitter hackers are So low IQ. - Many Twitter Account Hacked on: July 19, 2020, 10:35:26 AM
1. Hacking an account is not an easy task and especially the accounts of celebrities are even more tough to hack as it takes more time to get the account hacked.
2. Hacking multiple accounts is even more difficult as it makes you more prone to get detected.
3. Hacking multiple accounts together is like some next level shit. It would take a hacker some extraordinary skills to get that job done.

So much of efforts just to get the price of bitcoin decreased ? If I would be hacker I would rather hack someone's bitcoin wallet rather than putting in so much of efforts to hack the social media accounts of celebrities.

P.S : Not that I would hack someone's bitcoin wallet but it's a typical hacker mindset.
Well, this just means that Twitter security is still not safe and this proves that no technology is safe. And what I read is that it does happen already in the past, twitter and google had it before. They just simply saved the users password in plaintext which is too easy to hack every single account. The recent hacks didn't actually budge that much of the price and Bitcoin is still in the $9k-ish+ level of price in the past few weeks.

I'm not a twitter user so for reading this happened already on the past but still they didn't secure their site it means that we cannot trust them with valuable information, so maybe this is a sort of warning to all their user to not put any deep information regarding on their selves since this could be used for certain bad things against them, But I'm glad it didn't affect the price since sometimes issue like this will be used just to create fud.
3869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the twitter scam crash the price on: July 18, 2020, 09:55:08 PM
Did it really crashed the price yet? no effect yet as what I can see and I don't think it will crash soon.
Yes, there is. But I think there is a slight effect on the market price but there is a strong resistance as I can see now.

Bitcoin dominance is really unpredictable and I don't see if there is any correlated the price movement in the market. Despite the massive Twitter scam's high profile account, the price was resisted. Even during the pandemic, the bitcoin price didn't shake too much we have seen improvement even though there are panic sellers and the money that collected in Twitter scams was only small amount that not to worry.
That slight changes is probably just a traders movement IMO since it doesn't affect that much of the market. Twitter should have announce what was actually happening and how they would handle everything so that it won't happen in the future. So for now, I guess we'll just have to wait for their official announcement. And since it doesn't really give a panic to the investors then it is proven that they don't really matter to the market somehow.

Doesn't give any damn since there's no huge volume that can make the price go down but maybe there's really a slight changes but it doesn't mean that we need to get panic for the said incident, For me that issue is not big in crypto world since the hacking incident happen on twitter the only bad side of it is bitcoin drag to another controversy but for sure this will subside and will be forgotten by people in next following days.

I can't even ping its IP address 82.145.55.56 ... What does it mean?

their server is down or their internet subscription is cut..
one thing that i can think of - they will be gone now along with the money of the players. if they have no announcement whatsoever regarding this downtime, the possibility that they will run away is very high. because if they have the intentions to come back, they will find a way how to reach out their customers. how hard it is to make a tweet or leave a post on this thread?
Yes you're right what is the most suspicious in this situation is their silence on social networks and especially here on bitcointalk  Undecided

Days has pass already still they didn't get a word from them I expect that they are really running right now, it's so sad to see people being victimized again with this bad incident but lets still hope for the best and hope they are just having a bad time with their servers(hopefully this really happen) but if not maybe its best to move on guys.
3871  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin halving, whales manipulations and its 2020 price valuation on: July 18, 2020, 10:33:48 AM
Everyone thought there would be a Bitcoin bull market in 2020 and all the indicators and so on. We know whale wants to shakeout as much as they can. And this time the world situation is not good, whales use this panic of the Corona virus to manipulate the market. I hope the market will recover well after halving bitcoin.
But of course, there is a bull run for Bitcoin this year already. May be you don't notice it. If with all that the pandemic has done to global economy still keeps Bitcoin above $9,000, don't you think Bitcoin would've surpassed the 2017 ATH by now? Various financial institutions and companies are recording losses, yet we can't say that for Bitcoin. Remember that a few months ago before the pandemic or start of it Bitcoin traded below $4,000. So, what could still be keeping it at the current price of $9k+ if not a bull surge?

I'm thinking about that and I cannot picture out on what will be the price if there's no halving came, But luckily we are in this season since provably we are experiencing a dump right now. Halving shed some light of the investors but hopefully this is not the ATH and when year 2021 came we can see a big spikes coming.

But I don't really know if this will happen but let's see.

Now in gambling, there is money involved so we can't remove money from winning or losing, but the feeling of winning sometimes goes beyond the profit you are making with that bet. You could have made 10 bucks profit from a bet but the idea that you were right and you won is bigger importance to some people than the 10 bucks, they only put in money just so that they would have fun otherwise for free who would bet with them, what would be the point.

If that's your opinion so be it, no one is wrong here with there personal perspective since you are the one who choose what you prefer but what the most important here is you are enjoying the game plus you are in the correct website since if you aim to gain profits by playing then you will also be worried if you can get your winnings so it must
compatible.

The most important thing in gambling is don't be came addicted to much on the game so that you will not badly lose.
3874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 17, 2020, 01:12:13 PM
Selling the team around Php150 million is unbelievable. Do someone in his right mind will buy this team at this much with it's current status?
What's happening right now is just for the short term and buying a franchise in PBA will be a long term.
Right now, many businessman are calling him to buy his franchise already. They don't care what is happening right now because businessmen always foresee the long term benefits of their decisions. I think that amount is fair already. Lets just wait for whoever will get the franchise.

Let's wait for further development if this blackwater really serious in selling their franchise and who will be the bidders that will take place in case the process has been made.

If there's a rumor maybe there's a negotiation happening regarding on this things, But I have a feeling that the owner will do that since they didn't even reach to higher spot and they struggle for several years. Maybe the team owner has got enough on the losses they get that's why they decide to sell the team.

But we cannot conclude that this is final and lets wait for more details about this topic.
3875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oldest scam in the book can help you make money on: July 17, 2020, 10:26:22 AM
People that send the money believes a lot in the Twitter handlers that posted. For instance a strong follower and believers of Barack Obama will take his tweet about giveaway serious and might have no reasonable doubt not to send the money. The hackers don't generally select the account but specifically go for account that people hold trust in them. If not, I believe they would have target accounts such as Donald trump page. I strongly believe everyone deserve to be happy and whoever send money should get their money back if the hackers are apprehended

If you don't know about those things and when you see the legit account of the well known personality posted that for sure you will get appealed to send since for quick instance you will provably believe that those things  is true, that's the reason on why we see people getting get scam and since the issue has been raised and this is recorded on the book for sure this will not happen again in future, people are more aware on another scam tactics like this by now.
3876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the twitter scam crash the price on: July 16, 2020, 02:14:13 PM
Supposedly bill Gates and Elon musks account has been hacked. Along with many other people's accounts (such as binance and coinbase but coinbase may have regained control).

Hopefully the amounts sent remain low and this is just like a normal thing (like the twitter lives) but if a lot of people have sent all they have or this ends up in mainstream media (everywhere) then we could be in for a big crash...

I'm hodling still though. I wouldn't suggest selling but I'm just curious on people's opinions to this.

How come it will be the reason of a dump? the hacker doesn't get any huge volume at as I read the incoming transaction of the said hacker is been block already(Hope I'm not wrong with this) and although it can create a huge upset since the headline of the news is misleading ang it was written that bitcoin scam, but for sure this news will fade on next following days so there's nothing to worry about this incident.
3877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: July 16, 2020, 12:53:25 PM

There is a call to resume and there is a call to suspend this year season, there are so many teams in the NBA compared to other sports so the infection is very likely and besides these players are transient, they go from one location to another, the risk is too high in NBA compared to other contact sports like Boxing and UFC and Wrestling, but they have experts who will study this, let's just hope, that they will consider safety over profit.

What I wanted to see in this season is, they will end it as soon as possible without them getting infected. They already discussed this things many times in their meetings. They will need this season to end even if it's not the usual NBA season ending we know. They don't need to think what they might loss in this season because there are always next season if God's will. there, they can always give it all they're best without worrying on getting infected. I hope that time will come next season.

I also hope that they will make the right decision taking care of the health of the players in the first place.

But I missed NBA game so much that of course I will wait for a positive decision about the season this year.

I felt so excited when this season started but suddenly it was stopped due to this pandemic and same as you I really hope they have concrete plan on how they can protect their players and people around the league so that they can continue, Hopefully we can see still see a great game despite of this situation for sure the physicality of the game will change due to this disease.
3878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 16, 2020, 11:39:40 AM
I have a friend in the Philippines and I learned some information from him. The fact is that the Philippine government does not want any people in their country to be harmed. I welcome it because people are being scammed every day. In general, however, those involved in cryptocurrencies have not been much affected in the Philippines.

These scammers and ponzi schemes are  constantly using the term "cryptocurrency" and "Bitcoin" and even dragging big names in business industry to deceive the investors . We might not been affected by this but what I'm afraid of is when the Philippine government decides to ban crypto related transactions in the country due to these series of HYIP's and other form of fraudulent investment schemes that mostly involves Bitcoin. Though It will undergo a due process, but I'm still worried about the possibilities, since people here are too unaware what cryptocurrency is and got easily fooled by these scammers.

Now, the people was so fed up with fake Bitcoin investment scheme, then they switch up to Ethereum so It would sound new to them.

And the list goes on. There’s also a scammish opportunity using TRON smart contract. So these scammers are targeting coins or tokens having the feature where we can create our own smart contract.

Just recently, big media newspaper Philippine Star published a headline about the latest Twitter hack. In their sub-headline, they have mentioned “Bitcoin scam”, which makes me sick to my stomach. It’s like when a lot of people are reading this, they would generally think that Bitcoin is actually a scam without even taking time to research on their own about the real and positive use cases of it.

I just don’t know when will these foolish media sites would stop using the “Bitcoin scam” term.

It's so sad bitcoin is tag again as scam since it is been used by those scammers, for sure many people will get skeptical again by reading those articles and I really hope there's proper education regarding on this kind of scam attacks as well with bitcoins so that people will not mislead on the wrong information shown on the internet.

Those idiot media's should do their proper research since they create confusion here.

Good news not only for the Phoenix Squad but to the entire PBA league as fans are already missing Abueva, though he have that attitude
issues but the way he played and how athletic he is when inside the court, hopefully he will be seen
this All Filipino cup, he can adds up spice that will encourage the team to compete more aggressively.

Hopefully he truly learned his lesson which I think he realized it now.

Being a superstar is totally useless if a player behave unprofessionally.

Now that Abueva knows the struggle I'm expecting a new Abueva once he comes back. The penalty imposed to him is already enough. He should be allowed to come back now to add more competition in the PBA once the league come back.

It looks like he really has a mental problem as the last step was the series of psychological tests, lol.. probably check on him if he is also into illegal drugs.

No I don't think he needs that, he play the same when he is on college and by that he got an attention since he's hustle can annoyed players and destroyed their game phase. Maybe he got that attitude playing on streets so expect that he's playing style is something like physical.

Provably Abueva will learn a lesson for that but I don't think he will change and became soft when he came back.
3880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America now treats BTC and ETH as Cash on: July 15, 2020, 01:04:14 PM
Reportedly US Banks are going the treat Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and all crypto purchases same as Cash. In the crypto economy, this move is going to be a milestone. Cool

I think you are referring to this article.

Bank of America could treat transactions with Bitcoin as cash

just add it in the OP so everyone will see, it's nice if you will put a link of information you shared so we can verify, and so you will not punished by violating the forum rules which is plagiarism.
Regarding on the article, there is the word "COULD" which means that this is 100% sure that they will use BTC as Cash.

The OP's title is misleading as there is no ETH in the article although it is said that cryptocurrency in general is accepted.

Now with regards to the milestone thing, it will be a good thing for crypto as a whole but the chances of this to happen is relatively low and the article site isn't as reputable as other trusted sites out there so I don't believe that this will happen or should I say I'm not expecting for this to happen though.

I'm not gonna buy this either there are so many news coming just to create a hype so maybe this is another attempt, I want to see this news on biggest crypto media so that we can verify it that it's really happening in certain bank. But I'm sure many want that to happen since it's another level of adoption and people can gain trust with that thing since imagine the banking institution use that for good transactions.
